Comfort Inn Orillia

Convenient location, dog‑friendly, and clean throughout. Breakfast was good and the overall stay offered solid value for what we paid. Nothing stood out as exceptional, but everything was reliable and comfortable. A practical choice for travelling with dogs.

There wasn’t anything we would list as a dislike. The stay was straightforward and problem‑free, with no concerns during our time there.

Excellent location, you'll have your choice of all the major fast food chain restaurants and coffee places! Nice pillows, great bed and the breakfast choices were terrific! Coffee/tea available anytime!

You WILL miss your turn into the property the first time, it really should be better lit and have better/bigger signage. The hotel has only two floors but no elevator (or we didn't see one) so stairs are used to get to the second storey.

Hallway carpets were filthy and there were drain flies all over our bathroom. Dog hair on the carpet when we got to our room. Walk out parking spot was nice though.

The room is good, comfortable, bright. The bed is normal. The breakfast is normal.

What upset me was the trucks around the hotel, and many of them had their engines running constantly, so we couldn't keep the door open (due to the exhaust fumes) in such good weather. We knew the expressway12 was nearby, but the trucks were a surprise.

The front desk staff were amazing. Check-in went smoothly and I spoke with the clerk at check-out and let her know my concerns.

We used to stay at Comfort Inn quite often when we went to Orillia. However, this time we were very disappointed. The entire second floor smelled like old dirty mop water, our room smelled even worse, like an old wet dog. The room clearly wasn’t cleaned properly before we arrived as there was remnants of something on the side table (I’m hoping it was from a beverage 🤢) and there was a dirty old Kleenex left on the carpet under one of the beds. We informed the front desk clerk at check-out, she was very apologetic. The only reason we didn’t demand a new room or refund to go elsewhere was because it was a show night and it would be impossible to get a room anywhere else.

$250 dollars for one night in drain fly infested room. Drain flies in the bed, all over the walls, mirrors, windows, bathroom. Unacceptable to pay that much money, and when checking out and informing staff - the answer was "We are located on a swamp, sorry." There has to be a better effort at customer satisfaction resolution than that. I would never recommend this place to anyone, unfortunately. Better places to stay if you are catching a show at Rama - and more budget friendly places too. We certainly didn't "get what we paid for".

From the lively front desk staff, to the morning breakfast lady, who provided me with gluten free bread and to the outstanding cleaning services, this property was fantastic. The room was spotless, the fridge and microwave were so nice, along with the coffee makers and amenities. We loved this hotel and would return. The location was amazing, the free parking and breakfast were incredible. The food was fresh, abundant and different every single day. Thank you for the lovely stay:)

Our stay was just one night as we made our way north and found some sites of interest in Orillia before moving on. Check-in was easy and quick. Our room was clean and spacious and comfortable. Extra pillows and towels too! Complimentary breakfast had options and was pretty good. Free parking on site.

Alex at front desk is an asset to your hotel. Our booking.com reservation had been messed up and he was able to find us a room that we requested…two beds, 2nd floor. Breakfast was ok, poor lady was all alone and handled serving 100+ guests very well. Thank you!

Good location next to Kelsey’s so we had a place to go for dinner. Front desk person was extremely friendly and very organized.

Breakfast was supposed to start at 7. We had to be gone by then so the “breakfast included” was worthless to us. When people are travelling, they often want to eat earlier than 7 in order to get on the road.

The hotel itself could use some updating.

Hotel is somewhat dated. Our room was comfortable but o ersll not very clean. The bathroom mirror was no clean and appeared to be wiped with a dirty towel or cloth so that made we wonder just how cleaned and sanitized the rest of the bathroom and room was. The room carpeting was not clean, we wore our shoes the whole time when not sleeping. The sofa could use a deep clean.

On of the cleanest Comfort Inns we've stayed at in years. Breakfast was excellent. The toaster actually toasted 😅

It was great! The floor without carpet is a little cold , but warmed up when we adjusted the temp. Maybe have a key-card entry for those rooms that have a walkout on the 1st floor? Might be able to charge a little more for the convenience.

To begin - I arrived at the airport on a red eye and was worried I would have to wait until 3pm for check-in.. but after calling the desk they did an early clean for the room I was assigned and got in for noon! All staff I encountered were upbeat and superb service oriented. The bathroom has the clean smooth Bath fitters style tub and shower. Minimalist but functional sink stand. New LG TV, modern fridge and microwave. Modern thermostat. The breakfast was in a nice clean seating area with a wonderful selection of dry cereals, waffle maker, fruit, juices, coffee and tea, muffins -, one day it was bagels and next were English muffins... hot breakfast with eggs and cubed home fries.. Coffee available all day. Checkout receipt slipped under the door at 5 a.m. in case I wanted to exit early without troubling to go through the bureaucracy. The best Affordable property I could ever asked for in Orillia.

The property is a bit dated and although everything was clean etcetera it is lacking some of the more modern Business Features. The lamps are old-style with outlets, but no USB. Older lamp is the plug-in for your laptop. The carpet is worn "smooth" (but clean)... the sofa was the tweed kinda-saggy model. I had a room on the second floor, and the door access is probably original needing the door knob to be turned, with some difficulty to open if you are carrying luggage. But NONE of these notes lessens the great value and service found here.

Comfort Inns are not always great but this one most definitely is!! The room was comfortable and well appointed with fridge, m’wave, TV & a/c that worked! The staff were all very friendly and the cleaning lady kept the room spotless. As it happened, on arrival, I had a bad cold and she very kindly took me to a pharmacy to collect medicine.

Too far from Chuck’s Roadhouse!! 200 yards really is too far to walk 😎

Convenient to the highway but also a little noisy. The room with 2 doubles was very tight. There was a very small bathroom and vanity and closet. Totally suitable for a night but not a longer stay. The bed was very comfortable.

Only window was the siding door which left no privacy in the room.

Negligence eg there was no toilet paper in the room. Phone in room does not connect readily to front desk. Had to use external phone number to contact front desk. Sink did not drain well.

The interior was very clean; I liked that very much. They thought of everything, including sockets for device-charging located at the base of the lamps, shower curtains that were lined, meaning that the interior liner could be placed on the inside of the tub, stopping any water from splashing onto the floor. I like a dry floor, so I appreciated this very much. There was a fridge, a microwave and a percolator in the room. We did not use the TV but I liked the size of the screen. The Internet connection was very good. The room was comfortable; we had what we needed. Breakfast was good; reasonable variety even for those with food allergies and special diets. The location is quiet, so sleep was restful. The only noise we heard was from excited young people passing outside our door.

The exterior - the snow was not shoveled. I have mobility issues and it was difficult for me to walk on the neglected grounds. Even the few steps from my car to the door of the hotel were treacherous. I did notice, however, that the roads in Orillia were not plowed, even the main roads, nor were the grocery store and mall parking lots, so I thought, "Well, I'm from Ottawa, we're used to snow and the plows and shovels come out early and often. Perhaps they're not used to this in Orillia." So, perhaps the fault lies not with the hotel, but with the culture in Orillia. There was no accessible parking whatsoever (and yet there were lots of spots for vehicle-charging, including right next to the main door). The mattress could have been firmer but that could be my personal preference.

We came in to our room and immediately discovered that our blanket and sheets on our bed were absolutely covered with small, curly black hairs. It was revolting. The bed was made but it was as if they hadn't cleaned anything. I complained at the front desk and was after waiting for a while, was handed a stack of sheets and a blanket. So I had to go and take the gross stuff off the bed and remake it myself. Half of our floor was then covered with the dirty laundry. When I complained about this situation the next morning, the hostess brushed me off with a, "Sorry about that, have a nice day!" It was extremely gross and disappointing. I would have at least expected a credit or refund after such a ridiculous stay, but nothing was offered. To add to all the discomfort, our room had reeked of cigarettes as well. The continental breakfast was also a joke.
