Rooms are outdated, some bathrooms need small renovation, shower needs to have a wall or curtain to separate from the toilet, some shower heads need replacing minor adjustments and it will be mint for the money you pay, but all In all great bargain.

Bear in mind this is tucked behind a strange parking spot for legian’s stupid mega bar cycles, but dont let it scare you! The reception is not nice, but the hotel opens up to the back. The airconditioning could be better!

Absolutely perfect. Matahari and the staff are the kindest and most accommodating people i have encountered in my multiple stays in Bali. The grounds are gorgeous with fruit trees, frangapanis and palms layed out meticulously. Breakfast is perfect, enough choice for everyone and it tastes great. The rooms are in great condition, we stayed in the pool view/garden view rooms on the top floor. The pool is clean and great for kids. Rooms service was great. Widi at the front, always helping no matter whether it be crossing the road, helping with luggage or just having a conversation. The same goes for the rest of the staff however I forgot all their names. Despite being on the busiest street in kuta/legian, it is dead quiet and tucked away behind the chaos, you wouldn't even know the hotel there unless you walk through the building at the front. A hidden gem and will be back every time.

Given the amount of things that need charged these days, there could to be more power points. We had to unplug the bedside lamp to use the point for our chargers.

Tiles atr quite slippery when wet.. other than that, highly recommend. We travel to Bali every year and usually stay at another hotel, but will definitely be staying at Matahari moving forward :) loved it! The staff created a wonderful experience and were very accomodating, very family friendly with lush gardens, great for the kiddies as well. 5 🌟

The breakfast was adequate and coffee good. The service was excellent. The showers nice and hot. The room was clean.

Our toilet never flushed properly. So we manually flushed by removing the top of the cistern. Maybe some components of the hotel need to be maintained and replaced.

My second time at matahari, always a beautiful stay. The pool is my favourite part, the staff are very attentive, friendly and happy to be there, it has everything you need you wouldnt need to leave the property. So quiet considering the location on the main road. Rooms are being upgraded but for the price the room is all you need. The breakfast is great. Good coffee. Able to leave our bags in the lobby after check in. Security always at the front greeting and saying goodbye.

The location was ideal. Although it right on Jl Legian, there is no street noise and it’s a lovely garden oasis just 50m from the busyness of the main Street. Very clean, quiet and good aircons. Breakfast was a good choice. The dragonfruit bowls were my favourite.

Loved everything about this place.

We love coming here as our initial stop before we venture throughout bali and then return for a couple of days before leaving. People who come here come back for years. The staff are amazing and the grounds are always beautifully maintained. We like how central you are but it's also quiet. If you don't want to be in the hussle of kuta and the like this is a great alternative.

The pool area and breakfast was really good ! The rooms are average but you get what you pay for. Some rooms looked newer and nicer - we just booked a couple nights close to water bomb for the kids

The bathroom was not great super basic. The shower and toilet were in a small bathroom together and if you showered the floor would fill with water and the whole toilet floor was soaking wet because the drain was behind the toilet. Noisy Kuta location but that’s our fault for booking in the heart of Kuta

The property was clean and gardens well maintained. Breakfast was perfect - I just loved the starter baskets. Our room was cleaned everyday. Staff are very friendly. Only problem we had, was we didn’t get the room that I requested through booking.com.

Fantastic room. We had one of the 4 suites available. The shower had full pressure & plenty of hot water. Amazing bath tub. Large balcony & air-conditioning.

Je n ai pas aimé sa localisation. Rue trop animée de bar et de bruit . Le lobby est vieillot mais l hôtel est correct . Clientèle vulgaire . Très bien pour une nuit pas plus . Piscine avec trop de bruit musique . Ce n est pas un hôtel calme pour se reposer mais de toute façon ce n eu pas le quartier adapter pour ça . Perso je n ai pas aimé Kuta . Devant l’hôtel il ya une société de bus beer . Mais cela ne fonctionne que la journée

Hem estat a les habitacions més senzilles, i tambénanuna deluxe. Depenent del preu les millores a les habitacions són notables, però totes elles estan molt bé. Aire, llits còmodes, bany dins... La piscina és espectacular i l'entorn també està molt ben cuidat. Important tenir en compte que està a prop de l'aeroport, i al rovell de l'ou si busques la moguda de Kuta.

A nosaltres no ens va agradar la situació per l'enrenou un cop surts de l'hotel. Amb tot, super ben situat per l'aeroport, en 15 minuts en cotxe hi ets.

Wir hatten ein upgrade von einem gebuchten Deluxe room mit Poolblick zu einem Suite room erhalten, der sehr modern, geräumig mit toller Ausstattung (Küchenzeile), tolles Bad, großer privater Balkon im 1. OG war, sehr empfehlenswert. Darüber und vom freundlichen, zuvorkommenden Personal waren wir sehr begeistert. Frühstück hervorragend und üppig durch das upgrade, der Pool wunderschön und angenehm warm, der Garten ein absoluter Traum in dieser verkehrsreichen Gegend. Man hörte keinen Straßenlärm und blieb von den Abgasen verschont. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Auf den Nachbargrundstücken wurde morgens und abends (Plastik-)Müll verbrannt, wie überall auf Bali und bei dem Qualm konnte man das Zimmer nicht mehr verlassen. Da kann das Hotel nichts dafür. Auf den Straßen ringsum krasser Lärm, Stau, extreme Abgase. Einige ungehobelte, laute Gäste im Hotel (Australier, Chinesen). Strand schmutzig, voll, für Partyliebhaber.

Off the beaten streets is a lux garden of bungalows. The breakfast was inc and excellent. WiFi was good for hubby to work. Good menu by pool. Great options on doorstep of hotel for transport and food and massages and laundry.

As a family of 4 staying in a few places at ~$100/night Inc breakfast, this was the most tired. In our room we could hear many neighbours/ guests outside the room.

Sehr zentral gelegen und gleichzeitig ein toller Rückzugsort. Ein paar Schritte und man lässt den Trubel hinter sich und befindet sich in einer grossen Gartenanlage mit schönem Pool und sauberen Zimmern. Das Personal ist äusserst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir sind sicher nicht das letzte Mal hier gewesen.

We were given room on 3rd floor with no lift. Getting in and out via 4 set of staris was a challenge. The staff was worst of all the hotels we stayed in Bali. Or perhaps other hotels (even cheaper ones) have so polite staff that our expection was set at that which was not met. For any request that we made, such as room on ground floor, extra towel etc was rejected with a blant No.

Rooms are spacious. Comfy beds. Excellent location. Walking distance to beach, poppies lane and garlic lane. Hidden off the main road to escape the hustle and bustle. Beautiful and spacious grounds/gardens.

Room had noisy air con which didn’t cool well, was clean but shabby and musty smelling but no fragrance in place to improve it. Had to pay 500,000 for room card deposit.

De rust van het complex en de service gerichtheid van het personeel was erg prettig. Men was er duidelijk op gericht het de gasten zo comfortabel mogelijk te maken.

Eigenlijk viel niets tegen. Ondanks de ligging vrijwel direct aan een hele drukke straat, was het op het complex erg rustig.

On y revient depuis 20 ans et c est toujours parfait. L hôtel a été rénové depuis notre dernière visite et il est encore mieux qu avant. Parfait !

Was a bit of a walk to the beach with kids. Rooms were old needed a freshen up, we went as cheap as we could, so you get what you pay for. Very minor complaints.

Staff were so lovely, kind and friendly. The room was very nice, comfortable with a nice verandah to sit and sip pre-dinner drinks. The gardens and pool area are quite beautiful with private massage/pedi/manicure available by the pool. Great location close to many good bars and restaurants. A lively area but Matahari Bungalow is set well back from the main street and guests hear nothing of the street traffic.

Just a couple of very small things: it is quite unusual to not have hand towels supplied, we ended up buying one. And the breakfast is great but maybe a tiny bit more variety?

The staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. The gardens and pool were well maintained.

The breakfast was rather ordinary. Although the cooked eggs were fresh and came out hot, the sides were cold and did not look or taste fresh. Only one small drink of tea, coffee of juice was included with the breakfast.

We landed around 6pm so we wanted to stay here for transit. But the room is super super old and the toilet was 😞 I don’t even wanna touch anything while I’m taking the shower , not recommended at all Maybe if u book the new side. But definitely I’m not come back again.

It's best feature is the location. The pool area looked good but i didn't have time to swim. I used this as a transit hotel (due to cost) before my flight out, so was only there for a few hours

The bedroom and bathroom in my room were extremely basic, grubby and in need of a reno. The aircon really struggled to cool the room and the water pressure was not great. I wouldn't stay here again.

The property is nice, the pool is nice. I didn't use the facilities much since it was a short stay. The staff is helpful, not not friendly. Convenient location.

The place thinks of themselves as fancy and there are a lot of rules. A card for your room and for the pool to get a towel. They took a deposit, in cash, that was more than the two night stay which is a bit much. They checked the room before I left the property. Their airport transfer is super expensive. The room I got was closest to the street and noisy, the room didn't have enough lights and was quite dark. Not even a separate shower. I didn't get my room cleaned on the second day and I asked for more water and they looked at me with suspicion and had to double check and record this on my file. All in all, bizarre.

Les chambres sont tres confortables. L emplacement tres bien. Le personnel hyper agreable cela fait du bien.

Les boissons proposées au petit-déjeuner sont beaucoup trop limitées : il faut choisir entre une boisson chaude ou un jus de fruits. Mettre de l’eau à disposition devrait être un minimum, tout comme permettre de se resservir en thé ou en café. J’ai donc été assez déçue par ce point. En revanche, les plats proposés au petit-déjeuner sont très bons, bien dosés, et cela permet d’éviter le gaspillage.
