My Disappointing Experience at Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria It is never easy to write negatively about a place that once created some of my most cherished memories. Last year, I stayed at Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria for fifteen days, and it was an exceptional experie nce. That wonderful stay was the reason I chose to return this year. Before arriving, I also enjoyed an outstanding stay at Four Seasons Cairo, which strengthened my confidence that I would receive the same high standards in Alexandria. Unfortunately, my recent experience was completely different. From the moment I arrived, I faced several disappointments. The first room I was assigned had a strong damp and musty odor. Due to my sensitivity to humidity, I requested a room change, but the second room had the same issue. The unpleasant smell remained throughout my stay. The breakfast experience was also disappointing. On several occasions, front-row tables with beautiful views were marked as “reserved” even though they remained empty for long periods. This gave me the impression that some guests were receiving special treatment, which is not acceptable in a luxury hotel where fairness and professionalism should always be maintained. The room service and housekeeping were far below the standards I have experienced at other Four Seasons properties. Towels and bathroom amenities were not consistently replaced, some requests were not fulfilled, and the attention to detail was disappointing. Another major issue was the maintenance noise during my stay. Continuous hammering and construction work from nearby rooms made it impossible to rest for several hours. Although I contacted the hotel and received apologies, the solution did not match the level of service expected from a five-star luxury brand. The condition of the room itself was also a serious disappointment. The persistent musty smell, visible carpet stains, and unpleasant odors from the carpet and pillows were shocking for a hotel carrying the Four Seasons name. I shared my concerns with management, and they acknowledged the issues and apologized. While there was some improvement afterward, the experience remained far below the exceptional standards I have always associated with Four Seasons. What saddens me most is that, after my wonderful stay last year, I confidently recommended Four Seasons Alexandria to my family and friends. After this experience, I can no longer do so with the same confidence. I am sharing this feedback not out of anger, but with the sincere hope that the hotel management and Four Seasons leadership will review these concerns. A luxury brand is built on consistency, and guests choose Four Seasons because they trust its name. I truly hope Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria returns to the exceptional standards for which the brand is known. Until then, unfortunately, I cannot recommend the hotel based on my recent experience.

What a beautiful hotel in an excellent location! The staff is amazing but beyond the usual excellent service I particularly enjoyed the beach area.

كل شئ تعاملهم جدا راقي حتى لو فيه مشكلة بسيطة ما يقصرون معاكم إدارتهم ولا اروع

فطور مطعم الشاطئ ما في تنوع اقامه 5 ايام نفس الفطور فيه أصناف تحسها ما تنشال من مكانها نفسها نفسها كل اليوم وهذا ما يناسب الفندق كمستوى

with no doubt the best hotel in Alexandria, the property is amazing, the staff always ready to do the extra mile to make you happy, we will definitely go back again.

..of course a bit chaotic in the surrounding areas but what do you expect? maybe i would have added one more restaurant with some different cousine, seeing the size of the hotel...

The arrival experience was exceptional. I arrived at the standard check-in time when several guests were also checking in, and what stood out was the proactive approach of the front desk team, the Front Desk Manager in particular, who reassured us, offered welcome drinks, and within minutes opened the concierge desk to process check-ins so guests would not have to queue. This level of communication, teamwork, and guest awareness was genuinely appreciated, especially after a long journey when all I wanted was to get to my room and rest. The service remained consistently excellent throughout the stay. Although I am a returning guest, I was still escorted to the elevators after check-in and given a brief but informative overview of the hotel's facilities along the way. The room was very well maintained, housekeeping was outstanding, and the creative Eid Al Adha welcome dessert was a thoughtful touch. Overall, every aspect of the stay reflected the high standards expected from a Four Seasons property.

My only observations relate to guest convenience facilities. Creating a dedicated prayer room within the hotel would greatly enhance the guest experience. After check out, I was directed to use the prayer room in the adjacent mall, which I did not feel was appropriate for a hotel of this caliber. Similarly, it was surprising that there is no ATM within the hotel itself, requiring guests to visit the mall for basic cash withdrawal services. While neither issue significantly impacted my stay, both a prayer room and an ATM are amenities that many guests would reasonably expect to find within a property of this standard. These are relatively minor observations in what was otherwise an exceptional stay, but addressing them would further enhance guest convenience and comfort.

Beach experience.

Front desk, house keeping and room service. 1- took long for check in, more than 10-15 minutes. 2- given keys didn’t work at first. 3- we were asked at reception if we want to keep an extra bed that was already there in room, we replied no thanks. It was already there when we got into the room. 4- three times to ask for caffeinated capsules as all available are decaf. When finally brought the caffeinated x3 capsules, he asked for the decaf ones!!!!!!!! I replied we need those as well.

The staff were superb . The room well served and the location is very good. The breakfast setting was outstanding

This hotel provides a unique and wonderful experience. Not only is it luxury ,but the buffet breakfast on the beach is in a setting that is not easly reproduced, Additionally the the service from check to check out is first class. I even was greeted the the General Manager who wanted to make sure I had everything I needed. There was is a hostess at check in with maps, pictures and guide information for Alexandria which was very useful in preparing my conversation with our personal gude. For those without a prepared itinerary her information would be very helpful.. In conclusion,I thought the stay was excelent value for a luxury hotel.
