The boat transfer to the resort is well organized, but the welcome isn't: on arrival, our room wasn't ready, and all that awaited us was poor-quality food in a hot room, with no genuine warmth in the welcome. We were given a room with no sea view, despite having paid for one with sea view. Only the following day, after we complained, did the manager offer us the rooms we should have had from the start — justifying the mix-up by claiming the upgraded rooms he "would have liked" to offer us as a complimentary gesture were all occupied. Except that, checking online across several platforms, including the resort's own website, more than five were showing as available for the remaining nights. The dining experience was also disappointing: on the first night, at the Japanese restaurant, we waited an hour for mediocre sushi that we barely touched. Only one waitress on the floor, kind but clearly overwhelmed. The property itself could be stunning: beautiful, historic buildings that clearly once made this a genuine 5-star resort. But today all that potential goes to waste — nothing is cared for, nothing is shown off. The result feels like an ordinary 4-star, certainly not the 5-star experience they promise and charge for. Every beach towel requires a signature, with a charge if not returned — the same goes for equipment. A detail that clashes quite a bit with the idea of a resort. One bright spot: the spa, which was lovely, with good quality treatments. The rooms, on the other hand, were bare and dated, with no comforts and no welcome gesture for guests whatsoever. As a form of apology for the inconvenience, they offered us a plate of fruit — standard practice at pretty much any resort — and one massage each, which was actually already covered by the daily credit included in the stay. At checkout, they then ask you to hand over your luggage 90 minutes before the boat's departure, leaving guests in limbo with no guidance on how to spend that time. The final chapter was the worst: when settling the bill, they tried to charge everything to one room while leaving the credit on the other unused, even though we were paying for everything together. It's hard to tell whether this is disorganization or bad faith. What is certain is the atmosphere: the staff didn't seem happy, no one really smiled, they seemed more intimidated than properly trained. There's no sense of peace in this atmosphere — something needs to change, whether it's the management or the room rates.

A really lovely, relaxing week at this beautiful hotel. Gorgeous sea view with private pool and comfortable houses. Good food and service plus lovely staff in the hotel but as a family we also enjoyed walking to the village in the evening to visit some of the local bars and restaurants. Highly recommend!

Absolutely magical - from the rooms, to the facilities and breakfast options. We booked a sea view room with a private pool and it was amazing - room service was as quick as the speed of light.

the location is not really good if you want to go to the main part of the island, but with the beautiful hotel you do not really need to go elsewhere.

It was a thoughtful resort with a shuttle to ship you around as it was a large complex. Staff were accommodating.

We only stayed for one night, so we couldn't do any of the free activities like yoga or boxing... The type of people that stay here too, are quite undesirable. Don't stay here if you want poor company. The pool smelt a little like sulphur and the surrounding garden area was neglected.

The view and pool are great.

The hotel let you feel it’s all about taking your money. I paid one extra night and they didn’t refund my money back. In fact, they charged me for my 2 kids. I had 5,000 baht to use the hotel facilities as part of the reservation - in the check out process they suddenly said for example that the hotel shuttle is not included. Of course - charged me an extra 2,000 baht, even though I didn’t use the money from the hotel. The staff from check out said she will return to me with that kind of disappointment that I mentioned - no one spoke with me. In addition, would not recommend to come with kids with strollers as the hotel is not suitable for little kids and babies. The pool in the room is nice but it’s impossible to use it because of the mosquitoes.

Our stay at Santhiya Koh Phangan was simply unforgettable. This is such a unique and beautiful resort. We stayed in a private pool villa, and it was absolutely perfect. The villa was stunning, private, and made our vacation feel truly special. The breakfast was excellent, with a huge variety of fresh and delicious food every morning. The whole resort is surrounded by lush tropical greenery, making it the perfect place for anyone who loves nature and peaceful, green surroundings. Since the resort is quite large, they provide beautiful wooden shuttle vehicles that take you from your villa to the breakfast area or anywhere else in the resort whenever you need. It’s a small detail, but it really adds to the experience. The pools are amazing and beautifully designed. Everywhere you look feels like a postcard. But above all, what made this place so special was the people. It all starts with the resort manager, Prang, who was incredibly caring, kind, and always made sure everything was perfect for us. She genuinely cared about every guest, and you can clearly see how her attitude reflects on the entire team. A special thank you goes to Htun. His smile never left his face, and every time we saw him, he made our day a little brighter. By the time we had to leave, saying goodbye to him even brought tears to our children’s eyes. Thank you, Prang and Htun, for making our stay so special, unforgettable, and full of wonderful memories. If you’re visiting Koh Phangan, this place is an absolute must. We can’t recommend it enough!

De locatie, het zwembad, de huisjes en het personeel, alles is top. Verder is er prijs/kwaliteit verhouding gewoon goed, voor dit geld zit je ook een week in een kleine stacaravan op een Franse camping. Het voelde echt als een klein jungle paradijs

Beautiful accommodation sympathetically situated in a jungle setting. Stunning swimming pool with waterfall feature. Two large restaurant/ dining areas with varied menu and exceptional breakfast choice. The staff were the tour de force though, incredibly friendly, helpful, upbeat and on hand! Such a positive impact on our stay and experience.

One thing to note, and it’s a very difficult issue for hotels to manage, is the number of reserved sunbeds, with no sign of their occupants for hours and hours. It’s unfair and an outdated behaviour, meaning there was a shortage of beds for those that need them at the main pool. Some hotels simply don’t allow beds to be held for absences of an hour or two. I think it’s reasonable to give up the bed if you leave for lunch, say, or don’t save one at all if you’re not going to be there so there is more availability and circulation as people naturally come and go.

Unbelievable setting and designed to enjoy the environment

It’s a beautiful resort nested on the hills of the mountains jungle. The pools are amazing and the beaches the best we have seen in Koh Phangan. Amazing staff and a variety of food you can choose from 3 different restaurants. The room is beautiful and comfortable with all you need to sleep well.

It’s a resort so if you don’t feel like being around small children, be sure to book an individual villa where you can have your own pool.

The facilities of this place are out of this world! The entire hotel (pools and villas) are almost part of the mountain. There are water falls that feed the several pools, and little "houses" for a spa, a gym, the restaurants... truly amazing. Unfortunately, the service is well below par, close to poor in our experience. To start our 4 day holiday (birthdays of my wife and daughter and 20 year anniversary) we were given a "tree view" villa, when we paid for a "sea view" villa (and paid abundantly) I wanted the best for this special days. We of course complaint and during the process of changing villas, the lady, very politely said: "apologize for the inconvenience, we will try to rearrange nature next time" again very respectfully, make fun of us to our faces. Well, if you would´ve given us what we paid for, we wouldn´t be wasting our few days in the most expensive leg of our trip in a reception changing villas. Then we got caught into the sea food night during the fire show. The show was fine, the food however, was not. Lobsters, XL prawns, even some high grade meat... all way overcooked. Especially considering you can have amazing food and a fraction of the price outside the hotel! Even the cleaning service was poor. If you pay for a villa with a private pool, you expect the pool to be cleaned regularly... not the case. All in all, beautiful environment, very poor service. I would not recommend a friend to stay here.

Das Hotel ist wunderschön, der Service exellent, die Anlage geoflegt! Aber was es von vielen anderen Resorts abhebt ist die aufrichtige Gastfreundschaft und Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Hotel zu 100% empfehlen.

The high cost of the restaurant

Everything! What a beautiful place. Loved the amazing timber architecture including the little trucks, loved our private pool, loved the common areas, love the bathrooms & beautiful little touches throughout rooms & common areas. We were lucky to be staying during the resort’s 20th birthday & we’re given a lovely gift & invited to a little party where the food & drink was amazing!

There is a little bit of a sewage issue in the bathrooms. The resort tried to help this by having oil burners in the room. These worked great but once the tea lights burnt out the smell was there. I asked cleaning staff for extra tea lights & bought a lighter from 7-Eleven problem solved. Access to the main pool is tricky for children & those over 50. The access is by natural rock formations which are both dangerous & tricky to judge. Simple solution add a couple of metal ladders to each end or side of the pool.

What an amazing stay! Santhiya Koh Phangan is true luxury within the jungle. We stayed in a Seaview Pool Villa Plus and it was literally amazing. We saw some of the other accommodations and they were all beautiful in their own way. What I loved most about the resort was that it was built around nature, rather than nature being taken away to create it. With this you have to remember, you’re a guest in nature - there’s going to be ants, bugs, geckos, and we even spotted a monitor lizard - if the bugs become too much, housekeeping are only a call away! Add into this the solar panels you wouldn’t even notice, and this hotel is truly as eco-friendly as it possibly can be. The local village was exactly how I imagined Thailand to be after a tourist filled Koh Samui stay, the authentic Thailand we were looking for with chilled vibes and lovely little shops & restaurants. From the staff at the pier on Koh Samui, speedboat staff, the pool & housekeeping staff, the restaurant staff and the Senior Resort Manager, all personnel were an absolute credit to the Santhiya brand and we loved interacting with them. We were gutted to be leaving but we will be back. Please have no doubt about staying at Santhiya Koh Phangan, it truly is an experience not to be missed. Thank you all so much!

Die Lage des Hotels mitten im Wald ist sehr schön.

Die Anlage ist in die Jahre gekommen und benötigt dringend ein Make-over. Das fängt mit den Zimmern an, wobei insbesondere die Außenanlage (Pool, Garten) nicht mehr in einem Top-Zustand sind. Es geht weiter mit der Anlage insgesamt (offen liegende Rohrleitungen, beschädigte Verkleidungen, fehlende Farben etc.). Es endet am Strand und im Poolbereich. Der Strand ist klein, besteht aus aufgeschüttetem Kies. Der Zugang zum Wasser ist durch viele Steine erschwert. Der Blick in die eigentlich schöne Bucht wird durch einen häßlichen Bootsanleger verschandelt. Der Pool ist in Ordnung. Der Bereich der Liegen ist in Teilen ungepflegt.

Schönes Resort, top Ausblick auf die Bucht, abwechslungsreiches Essen, nettes und stets hilfsbereites Personal – alles in allem bietet das Resort die perfekten Voraussetzungen für einen entspannten und unvergesslichen Aufenthalt.

Ich würde mir noch wünschen, dass man das Teakholz an der ein oder anderen Stelle nachpflegt. Damit das Resort auch noch weitere 20 Jahre so schön bleibt.

Schönes Resort, top Ausblick auf die Bucht, abwechslungsreiches Essen, nettes und stets hilfsbereites Personal, alles in allem bietet das Resort - Alles was n allem bietet das Resort die perfekten Voraussetzungen für einen entspannten und unvergesslichen Aufenthalt.

Da gibt es nicht viel, außer das der eigene Strandsand etwas kieselig ist. Ein paar Meter weiter findet man dann aber gleich den perfekten Sandstrand.

Veldig hyggelige mennesker som jobber der. Fantastisk beliggenhet med strand og utrolig sjarmerende landsby i 10 minutters gange. Fint hovedanlegg med pool og restaurant, og en særegen beliggenhet av hyttene som gir en følelse av å bo i jungelen.

Er du uheldig med plasseringen av hytten din/rommet ditt er du avhengig av shuttelbuss omtrent overalt. Litt slitsomt i lengden. Stive priser på mat og drikke ved hotellet. Du spiser bedre og billigere om du går 10 minutter til landsbyen. Der er det til gjengjeld ett veldig fint utvalg av bra spisesteder.

Wahnsinnig liebe Personen im Service. Man hat sich rundum sehr wohl gefühlt. Kurzer Spaziergang in kleines Dorf in der Nähe (ca 15 Minuten über den Strand) Pool direkt in der Unterkunft war sehr angenehm!

What an incredible experience. Such an amazing resort, cut into the jungle with a private beach. Utterly stunning visually and incredibly relaxing. Cannot speak highly enough of the staff. So friendly, welcoming and helpful. Everything felt like you were being given vip treatment. We had two rooms with pool access, which were amazing. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The little vans that drive you around were really fun and very much needed from where we were staying (at the top of the resort, which is quite steep). Food was out of this world! Nothing better than sitting at a table on the beach, eating amazing food while watching a mixture of Thai dancing and a fire show. We left Santhiya for another five star resort on a different island - there was no comparison. You will not be disappointed.

This was our return visit to Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort, and once again it exceeded our expectations. We absolutely love the private pool room with a stunning sea view—it’s the perfect combination of comfort and beauty. The service is truly exceptional. The team goes above and beyond to make sure every detail is taken care of and that your stay is an amazing experience from start to finish. The breakfast buffet is delicious, with a huge variety of options to suit every taste. A truly special place that keeps us coming back. Highly recommended!

The welcome upon arrival very hospitable. A lot of info to take in because it’s a large resort but easy enough to work out. Then a buggy takes you to your room. Service is first class staff are very helpful. Resort is very clean. Breakfast is excellent with a lovely egg station for eggs made at the moment. I would most definitely come back if I visit this island again.

My stay at Santhiya Resort in Thailand was absolutely incredible and exceeded all of my expectations. The resort's stunning architecture, breathtaking ocean views, and beautiful natural surroundings created a truly relaxing and luxurious atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always willing to go above and beyond to make our stay memorable. From the delicious food to the comfortable accommodations and outstanding service, every detail was perfect. I would highly recommend Santhiya Resort to anyone looking for an unforgettable tropical getaway in Thailand.

Hotel has stunning views over the bay and there is a beautiful beach just a short walk over some rocks. The resort is very large with 2 nice swimming pools and our 2 bed villa was a great size. We liked the wooden truck service that can take you round the resort- the driver always greeted us with a smile and always remembered our room number! However don’t expect 5* accommodation or a 5* resort. We had cockroaches, ants, a gekko and weird worm things in our 2 bed villa. The hotel was very prompt at sending housekeeping round to remove the bugs but they kept coming back despite them giving our room an additional deep clean. Whilst the front desk sincerely apologised for the cockroaches etc they weren’t able to offer us alternative accommodation for 3 people without one of us being on a sofa bed - this was a downgrade as we had paid for a 2 bedroom villa! Instead we were offered 2 complimentary 60 min spa treatments but it turned out we could only have specific massages rather than a 60 min spa treatment of our choice- this was disappointing although the massage was very good. The resort and accommodation shows lots of signs of wear and tear and we think a large renovation is required to make it to any where near a 5 star standard. The breakfast was also not great with juices not being fresh and plates in the “clean plates” pile often being dirty. If booking, we would recommend a room without an outdoor shower as we think this was how the cockroaches etc entered our villa.

The staff were so professional and couldn't do enough to make our stay a wonderful one. We loved the beautiful pool with plenty of options for shade or sun. The waterfalls added a lovely tropical feel and a sense of fun.

Absolutely stunning accommodation and our own private pool. The gardens are simply beautiful and the location of the resort is perfect. The staff were amazing, so helpful, friendly and accommodating.

We upgraded to a pool villa and I am so glad we did as it was incredible. Clean, beautiful, private and the pool was amazing. The staff were fabulous and the resort itself is beautiful. It is big and steep but they have little wooden cars that run 24 hours to drive you around the resort. Resort beach isn't great but the beach next door is accessible and absolutely beautiful. The food in the resort is very expensive but also very good. We chose to eat in the neighboring village - which is a 15 minute walk down the beach and the village is super cute with some fabulous restaurants. We also rented a scooter from the village. It isn't a resort that is accessible for anyone with difficulties walking - there are lots of steps and no ramps. I would certainly come here again.

Wir haben für vier Nächte über 1.000 € bezahlt und können diese Unterkunft leider überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Dies war die mit Abstand größte Enttäuschung unserer gesamten Thailandreise. Besonders unverständlich ist für uns, wie diese Unterkunft bei dem aufgerufenen Preis und den positiven Bewertungen bewertet wird. Die Anlage wirkte in vielen Bereichen ungepflegt. Wir haben beschädigte Wege, heruntergekommene Bereiche, unangenehme Gerüche sowie hygienische Auffälligkeiten festgestellt. Besonders störend war die große Anzahl von Fliegen im Bereich von Lebensmitteln. Auch der Strand war sehr steinig und aus unserer Sicht kaum zum Baden geeignet. Nach unserer Ankunft wurde uns schnell klar, dass die tatsächlichen Gegebenheiten vor Ort nicht den Erwartungen entsprachen, die durch die Fotos, die Beschreibung und den Preis vermittelt wurden. Wir fühlten uns dort nicht wohl und entschieden uns deshalb, den Aufenthalt vorzeitig abzubrechen. Besonders enttäuschend war der Umgang mit unserer Beschwerde. Wir haben zahlreiche Fotos und Nachweise an Booking.com übermittelt. Das Hotel lehnte jedoch jede Form der Erstattung ab. Noch irritierender war die spätere Behauptung des Hotels, man habe uns Leistungen als Ausgleich angeboten. Es wurde auf ein Guthaben beziehungsweise Vorteile verwiesen. Solche Guthaben und Leistungen waren jedoch bereits Bestandteil unserer Buchung und wurden nicht nachträglich als Wiedergutmachung für unsere Beschwerde gewährt. Am meisten enttäuscht hat uns, dass auf die eigentlichen Kritikpunkte überhaupt nicht eingegangen wurde. Statt die von uns dokumentierten Mängel ernsthaft zu prüfen, wurde auf Leistungen verwiesen, die bereits Teil der Buchung waren. Für den gezahlten Preis hätten wir einen deutlich höheren Standard, eine gepflegte Anlage und einen professionelleren Umgang mit berechtigter Kritik erwartet. Rückblickend würden wir dieses Hotel nicht erneut buchen und können es leider auch überhaupt nicht weiterempfehlen.

Der perfekte Start in unseren ersten Thailand Urlaub. Das Resort ist einmalig und verzaubert einen bei Tag und bei Nacht. Absolut oberes Niveau und diesen spürt man in allem.

Ruhige Lage, schöne Bucht, alles aus Holz gefertig. Viele schöne Pflanzen. Nähe zum kleinen Dorf zu Fuss via Strand. Beste Massage die wir bisher bekommen haben.

Das einzige was uns ein wenig störte war die schlechte westliche und unpassende Mainstream Musik zum Abendessen.

Great hotel, amazing room & views out of this world. Having stayed in Koh Samui prior to this, it was a nice contrast and time to truly unwind - making much use of the resort taxi.

Second stay for us at the Santhyia we love the location, quiet, relaxed and the staff and resort are amazing. The rooms are clean, neat and well sized. Would well and truly recommend the Santhyia for couples, family’s or singles.

Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das Zimmer und den Pool mit den Schiffchen – beides war wirklich außergewöhnlich und hat unseren Aufenthalt zu etwas Besonderem gemacht. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und die Nähe zur Natur hat uns ebenfalls sehr gefallen. Positiv überrascht hat uns das Frühstück. Die Auswahl war wirklich hervorragend und außergewöhnlich vielfältig – hier blieb kein Wunsch offen. Insgesamt ist das Hotel für ein paar Tage definitiv eine gute Wahl. Allein das wunderschöne Zimmer und der fantastische Pool machen den Aufenthalt lohnenswert. Wer über kleinere Mängel hinwegsehen kann, wird hier eine angenehme Zeit verbringen.

Die Anlage wirkt auf den ersten Blick sehr schön und gepflegt. Bei genauerem Hinsehen fallen allerdings einige Mängel auf, wie beispielsweise beschädigte Fliesen an verschiedenen Stellen. Auch der Wasserfall am Naturpool war während unseres Aufenthalts außer Betrieb. Der Service an der Poolbar hat leider nicht ganz überzeugt. Für zwei Getränke mussten wir rund 40 Minuten warten, obwohl nur wenige Gäste vor Ort waren. Das Abendessen war ebenfalls eher durchschnittlich und konnte unsere Erwartungen nicht vollständig erfüllen.

Wir waren drei Wochen in diesem Paradies und ich kann es nur empfehlen. Vom absolut problemlosen, sehr raschen und zuverlässigen Kommunikation via what's up chat mit der Reception, welche bereits vor der Abreise den Transfer den Transfer organisierte, dem Personal, welches zum grössten Teil besser Englisch spricht als viele Gäste, dem Angebot an gratis Aktivitäten und natürlich bis zu unserer Garden View pool Villa war alles darauf ausgelegt, und einen stressfreien, wunderschönen Aufenthalt zu garantieren. - Die Pool Villa war absolut privat, in gutem Zustand, es gibt genügend Platz für das Gepäck und genügend Licht, alle Strom Stecker funktionierten immer, auch während Strom Ausfall bei heftigen Gewittern. Der Pool wurde jeden Tag gereinigt und war spotless! Room service hat uns immer wieder neue Tücher gefaltet und war sehr gründlich, es gab auch einen turn down service. - die Anlage gleicht einem unglaublich gut gepflegten, botanischen Garten in einem Jungle, zum Laufen hügelig und bergig, aber es stehen 24 h Transport Cars zur Verfügung, für die, die nicht fit genug sind. - die Pool Anlage, das Gym und das Yoga Studio sind ebenfalls sehr sauber, es gibt gratis täglich Yoga, Thai dance, zeitlich beschränkte SUP und Kajak, und gegen Gebühr Muai Thai, cooking classes und carving classes. - Wir hatten Hotel credit und haben deshalb immer wieder im Hotel gegessen. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr, sehr gut. Ja, es ist teurer als im Dörfchen, aber dafür gibt es keine Plastik Tisch Decke, Liegen am Fenster mit einer Traumaussicht und je nach Wochentag Grillabend, Feuer Show Unterhaltung und Thai dance. - wir haben unsere Bedingungen und Service Mitarbeiter sehr geschätzt. Sie waren mehr als freundlich und zuvorkommend, sprachen gutes English, haben sich um Familien mit Kindern gekümmert wie wir es in Europa noch nie beobachtet haben. Ich habe sicher noch nicht alles erwähnt, aber ich war vor unserem Ferien plötzlich wegen einigen negativen Reviews beunruhigt.

Die Jungs am Pool hätten motivierter sein können und die Thai Dance show wird irgendwann ein bisschen öde.. Die Überfahrt war bei hohem Seegang für mich gerade an der Grenze, wir konnten auch nicht am Pier anlegen sondern mussten im Süden der Insel anlegen und dann mit dem Bus abgeholt werden. Aber beim Rücktransport hat dann alles geklappt und die See war fast ruhig!

Stunning property in secluded part of the island. The staff is very nice and always reachable by Whatsapp conversation 24h/7. We enjoyed so much we extended our stay three times!

La cama era súper cómoda, así como el gran espacio que tenía la habitación.

Como punto negativo es el cuarto de baño De la Villa, ya que se encuentra en el exterior y hay muchísimo mosquitos, por lo que es muy incómodo. En la piscina de la Villa también tuvimos muchísimos mosquitos por la noche y es un poco incómodo. Pero en la habitación Pool Suite estuvo todo genial.

Pest/wildlife issues - gnat/mosquito infestation, think I got bed bug bites here. Monkeys in trees constantly dropping food on the roof can be loud. Also had to clean up lizard feces multiple times a day Air conditioning cannot be run while not in the room - there is an old fashioned key mechanism that only allows electricity when in the room. Beach at property is quite rocky. Luckily nicer beach is walking distance away. Provided beach towels are very cheap/thin/uncomfortable.

The staff were exceptional, the rooms were just fantastic. We stayed in a sea view villa and it was huge, the bathroom was incredible! Couldn’t have had a more wonderful stay. One thing I’d change would be the QR codes / electronic ordering on the tables, we would much rather see a menu than faff around on phones. Otherwise everything was just perfect, we had an amazing time and miss it so much.

Mooie omgeving, perfect onderhouden tuinen. Authentieke sfeer. Eten in het restaurant was lekker, met een mooi zicht. Ruime kamers.

Je kan niks (restaurant, strand, ontbijtrestaurant, uitgang, balie,…) bereiken zonder klimmen en dalen en heel veel trappen te doen! Men biedt een transfer met ‘wooden car’ aan, maar daar moet je telkens voor bellen naar de receptie en er op wachten. Personeel begrijpt vaak geen Engels.

Villas are dated, the air conditioning was loud, the outdoor bathroom had lots of mosquitoes, the resort is a bit isolated and away from the main parts of the island

We recently stayed at Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort and had mixed feelings overall. There are genuinely many positives — the resort itself is visually stunning, the natural surroundings are beautiful, and the service staff were consistently warm, polite and hardworking. The rooms were also lovely and there is clearly a lot of effort put into the aesthetic of the resort. However, unfortunately there were several significant issues relating to management, communication and the gap between what is advertised and what is actually delivered. The biggest concern was the ferry access. The resort strongly markets its private pier and speedboat experience. At booking, we were specifically informed that alternative docking at Ban Tai Pier would only happen in poor weather conditions for safety reasons. During our stay, we were again told we would be informed 24 hours beforehand which pier would be used, reinforcing the impression that the resort pier was still actively operational. However, after returning home and escalating our concerns, the hotel eventually confirmed in writing that the speedboat service now operates from the public pier as standard, with guests transferred by shuttle van. This directly contradicts how the experience was presented both before and during our stay. Had this been communicated transparently from the outset, our expectations would have been very different. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the staff managing the ferry and shuttle transfers themselves were helpful and professional throughout, particularly in assisting with luggage handling and ensuring the transfers ran smoothly. Secondly, one of the main features that attracted us to the hotel — the large waterfall at the main pool — was switched off for the vast majority of our stay. It would occasionally come on briefly after complaints before being turned off again. We were never informed of any operating hours or limitations beforehand, and this definitely impacted the atmosphere and experience we expected from a five-star resort. The most disappointing aspect, however, was the excursions. Given the hotel’s location on a remote part of the island, reliable excursion support is critical to the overall guest experience. A major reason we were comfortable booking such a secluded resort was because of the extensive promotion of tours and activities both before arrival and throughout the stay via WhatsApp messages and signage around the resort. However, in reality, many of these tours were not operating unless minimum participant numbers were met — something that was never made clear prior to booking. In fact, when questioned further during our stay, staff effectively admitted that the hotel-run tours do not really take place in practice because they rarely meet the required numbers. The “alternative” offered was effectively for us to pay the equivalent cost of multiple guests for a private tour, which was not a reasonable substitute. The suggested “land tours” were also essentially private taxi arrangements at a high cost and did not reflect the premium experiences being advertised. The hotel later recommended a third-party provider for the Ang Thong Marine National Park tour, which we booked, only for it to then be cancelled the day before without explanation. Following this, the hotel was again unable to provide a workable alternative. As a result, we spent a significant portion of our holiday trying to organise excursions ourselves rather than enjoying the resort. For a remote five-star property charging premium prices, this level of support fell well below expectations. There were also smaller inconsistencies that contributed to the overall feeling that certain corners were being cut: - Water shoes advertised but appropriate sizes not available in practice - Frequent insistence on photographing guests when borrowing items, which felt uncomfortable and unnecessary - Difficulty speaking with senior management when concerns were raised Importantly, I do want to reiterate that the frontline staff themselves were excellent throughout and did their best within the systems they were operating under. The issues were far more on the management, operational and communication side. Overall, this is a resort with huge potential and many genuinely fantastic qualities, but we left feeling that several services and features were marketed in a way that did not reflect the actual guest experience. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves transparency for future guests.

It's in an beautiful location with amazing view. The buildings are all traditional wooden structures. The staff was super friendly and attentive.

The fact that you have to order food and drinks in the restaurants yourself from tablets, which makes it feel really cheap. The pool towels were awful and not much of use. The fact that it's located in the middle of the jungle makes it hard to keep everything clean, but it did feel messy and dirty in some places.

Jättefint hotell...vi hade poolvilla svit.. Stranden var så där, men 50-100m bort fanns en fantastisk strand. Liten by i närheten, som hade allt.. Vi kommer åka hit igen👍

Juste la chambre qui est très belle

Tout le reste. - le petit déjeuner … faux jus dans un pays où les fruits sont délicieux… - les massages HORS de prix ! - 45 min d’attente pour le check in. - le personnel pas réactif du tout. -… Cet hôtel c’est du vol ! Heureusement qu’on a pu s’enfuir sur la plage à côté. Mais on était chargés et on mangeait au resto en ayant pas pris de douche pour pas faire des trajets dans le vent. Bref on pensait passer un séjour relaxant j’en ressort avec un torticolis. Allez au green papaya 1000 fois mieux, service royal la bas et c’est moitié prix la chambre. Ici …. ONLY 1000 baths le massage ( un massage c’est 300-400 baths normalement. Une bière 270 baths … normalement 80… Les lessives 70 euros !!!!! Normalement 3 euros.
