Mi experiencia en este hotel fue bastante decepcionante, especialmente teniendo en cuenta el precio que se paga y la categoría de hotel de lujo con la que se posiciona. Considero que el hotel no vale el precio que cobra. Las instalaciones son muy antiguas y, para un hotel que pretende ofrecer una experiencia de lujo, me parece inaceptable encontrar una habitación sin agua disponible, sin Smart TV y sin cafetera. Otro punto muy negativo fue el transporte al centro. El servicio funcionaba en un horario extremadamente restringido, por lo que en la práctica no atendía las necesidades de los huéspedes y resultaba poco útil. Esperaba mucho más por el precio y por la categoría que el hotel intenta transmitir. En mi opinión, hay muchas opciones que ofrecen una experiencia mucho mejor por el mismo precio o incluso por menos. No recomendaría este hotel y definitivamente no considero que la relación calidad-precio sea adecuada.

Clearly not a five star hotel. Old facilities. Terrible acoustics as you could hear other rooms clearly. Away from town. Poor breakfast.

A lovely place to relax, with excellent connections to the city center (via bus service) and magnificent views. The rooms are very spacious, well-decorated, and well-equipped. The breakfast is plentiful. I recommend it.

Xelena Hotel & Suites was our home for 4 nights and 5 days on our visit to El Calafate, Argentina. Located a bit away from downtown, Xelena is a luxurious hotel in a beautiful location with magnificent views. Our spacious lake view room had spectacular views, comfortable bed and all the essential amenities. The breakfast spread was amazing and the service was good. Overall we had a wonderful experience.

Equipe extremamente atenciosa. Quartos confortáveis. Piscina com vista maravilhosa. Café da manhã excelente, servido a partir das 6h, o que é ótimo para dias em que os passeios começam cedo.

O único problema é o box do banheiro , que é aberto e por isso o chão molha durante o banho.

Tudo perfeito 😍 a piscina aquecida é excepcional ❤️

Beautiful location right in front of the lake. You can see the pink flamingos from your window. The service was great the room was clean. This place offers a complimentary shuttle service to down town and is always happy to help get a taxi if it’s out of the hours the shuttle runs. They have a bar with bites and a lobby where you can gather with friends and family. The World Cup was showing while in town. They have a nice spa with heated pool. Please bring your bathing suite!!!

Atendimento da limpeza do apto que ficou sem ser realizada em um dos dias . Atendimento do café da manhã que fomos chamados a atenção por fazer um sanduíche para levar em um hotel 5 estrelas que recebe turistas que saem muito cedo para fazer passeios aos glaciares e às vezes não tem tempo para o café da manhã . Reclamei na recepção e me pediram desculpas prometendo corrigir o erro.

Me gustó todo…la habitación amplia y con unas vistas al lago espectaculares , las camas súper cómodas , baño enorme, la toallas y sábanas como nuevas … el desayuno exquisito y mucha variedad .. La piscina !!! Y el jacuzzi !! Para relajar… mirando el lago Personal muy amable ..

Very average hotel. Although we had a big room, the service was very bad. No one in reception speaks English. The room is located on the busy street, very noisy all night. The staff that cleaned a room next to us late in the evening, were so loud that I had to come out in my PJ to ask them to stop the noise. Breakfast was not nice, all was there but low quality. No one to speak to. I am positive that there are better hotel in the area.

Esta venido abajo. El mantenimiento no es lo mejor. El gym es vergonzoso. Tiene una maquina multiuso familiar de pésima calidad, 1 solo par de mancuernas y una cinta. No es 5 estrellas de ningún modo.

The property is beautiful and has lots of amenities and a great couple restaurants.

Most of your trip to El Calafate are spent on day long tours and there’s really not much point in spending the price point this hotel is at what you’re in Patagonia to be outside all day. Other than that the hotel is perfectly nice and was a great stay.

Room Extremely noisy.

Amazing location and view, staff super friendly and professional, free shuttle taking you to the center of the city every hour, beautiful facilities and spa. Spacious rooms and great bed.

Stayed one night as part of tour group. Facility is clean and rooms are of good sized. Air conditioning is effective and has good directional controls. Lobby has filtered water filling station and rooms have a refillable container. WiFi is acceptable. Lobby staff is efficient but not particularly friendly. There’s a small gift shop next to reception. The water is roughly 10 min walk down slope from hotel for shore walks. Recommended.

This is a mediocre hotel on the far outskirts of El Calafate (>1 1/2 mile walk). Our room itself was okay, but overlooked the parking lot with no lake view. We were 'welcmed' with an email 2 days before arrival telling us we had to pay in USD and laying down a long list of restrictive rules. They have a shuttle to town but it only makes 1 trip per hour and only from 3-10 pm.

This is a really nice hotel which is slightly out of the town centre, however if you're fit you can walk but they have a complimentary shuttle bus that runs every hour, which I used for my stay. I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights as part of an escorted tour. They have a nice spa and an unusual pool that is part inside and outside, which is a bit quirky. The breakfasts are buffet style and very nice with lots of selections. I didn't eat dinner as chose to eat in the town centre. There is a nice bar area that offer nice cocktails and bar food. I also requested milk from the bar to take back to my room because I like milk with my tea and there wasn't any in the room fridge. My room had a lovely view across Lake Argentino and included a sitting area with two easy chairs facing the large window and the view. The bed was large and very comfortable. My room had a shower over the bath which was not a problem and I was aware the room next to me had no bath but a separate shower cubicle. El Calafate is a lively small town with lots of restaurants and shops and lots and lots of dogs! The dogs walk around the streets and in my experience were all very tame (but I didn't touch any), however I often kept some of my meat from my evening meal to be able to feed to them when I left a restaurant. I saw many people doing this and the dogs clearly appreciate it. Apparently the dogs are looked after by the town who make sure they are okay and pay any vets bills.

This is not a 5 star hotel. It is equivalent to a US motel, but with non functioning amenities (air conditioning) and no desire to fix them. When we checked in, 4 other families were all lined up with their own complaints that ranged from being locked out of their rooms to broken AC. When our AC was broken they said they would refund us for the stay. Two days later, once we had left, they said: “we never said that.” The front desk attendant, Anna, most certainly did. I would highly recommend NOT staying here.

Absolute joke. This hotel is a trash can. We paid an absurd price to stay in a shack. Firstly, the hotel food was horrible and one of the family members got sick from the so called “sushi.” Breakfast is even worse do not even consider eating at the hotel. The hotel is 20 minute drive from the actual town itself, find a place closer in the town. The internet is horrible. Cannot even access it in your own room. Only place the wifi works is the lobby. Their gym is an absolute joke. There’s a bike and a broken cable machine. It shouldn’t even show up as an amenity on the hotel. Front desk was extremely rude and woke me up 5 times at 5:30am-7am. They claimed they were told to send wake up calls to my room. I’m sure they confused my room with someone else’s. The beds were extremely small and there were also insects crawling in our shower. The shower is confusing to turn on and either shifts between scalding hot or ice cold. It sucks. There are an unbelievable amount of issues with this location. Instead, I should be getting paid to sleep there. Do not stay here if you want to enjoy your trip.

I’m not sure how this property gets its 5 star status. The facilities are tired and the staff not up to that level of service. It’s a fine place to stay if you are not expecting 5 star accommodations and don’t pay a 5 star price.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Super clean, friendly staff. Not right in the town but they run their shuttle every hour for shopping and restaurants. Only a 6-7 minute ride. Our room had a beautiful view of the lake. Had dinner at their restaurant one night. Definitely 5 stars. Nice bar near the lobby also serving food and great cocktails. Try the Calafate Sour:-)
