Der Spa Bereich ist nicht so wie man es sonst kennt. 2 komplett in die Jahre gekommenen Saunen die 1x2m groß waren… und dem Pool gehen Leute mit Sportklamotten rein. Super unhygienisch…. Das Personal am Empfang (junger, kleiner Mann) ist einfach nur schlecht! An der Abreise sollte er ein Taxi bestellen, laut seiner Aussage dauert es 5 min…. Wir haben mehrmals nachgefragt und er meinte immer, es sei unterwegs! Und uns dabei komplett unsympathisch angelächelt! Wirkte so, als würde er uns auslachen und nicht ernst nehmen! Wir mussten 1h 13min auf unser Taxi warten!!!!! Wir haben fast unseren Flug verpasst!! Der Herr war generell einfach absolut unmöglich und definitiv nicht qualifiziert in einem 5 Sterne Hotel zu arbeiten!

Reviewed Apr 17, 2026Definitely not a 5-star hotel. The building is showing its age and is in desperate need of renovation. The staff, however, were very friendly and helpful. During our stay in El Calafate, we went on two wonderful excursions with Amayco that were absolutely fantastic. We can therefore wholeheartedly recommend El Calafate as a destination.

The spa facilities could use improvement. Treatments are only available in the afternoon, and availability is quite limited, we were unfortunately unable to book a massage during our stay. Also, the amenities in the rooms could be improved as well to genuinely be classified as a 5 star hotel.

Reviewed Apr 13, 2026After days of hiking, staying at Imago Hotel & Spa felt like a reward in itself. I was especially happy with the heated pool and jacuzzi - exactly what tired legs need. The spa facilities are impressive, with multiple massage rooms, a sauna and a Swedish shower. The room was spacious and very comfortable, the staff were helpful and the breakfast was truly excellent.
The only area that could be improved was the dinner - beautifully presented but slightly lacking in flavour. That said, the hot chocolate was genuinely one of the best I’ve had during this trip!

Reviewed Mar 18, 2026The staff is great, they are friendly and willing to help out in any way they can. The location of the hotel is not the best, however they make up for it by having a shuttle to downtown, it also has good views of the lake. Breakfast is ok.
The hotel is old, very old. The beds are not comfortable and pillows are worse, there was no change to upgrade or have a different room. So my experience is in one room. I would not stay here again.

No air conditioning on some crazy hot days. The pictures of the property made it look like it was right on the waterfront but it is actually across the road and our room did not have any view. The property has a shuttle van to town but it does not have enough hours.

Reviewed Feb 27, 2026Nos gustó el hotel, es cómodo pero un poco viejo. Cuenta con pileta climatizada pero es pequeña tiene 4 camastros (le falta un poco de mantenimiento). Hay también spa con ducha escocesa y sauna incluido en la tarifa diaria. Cuenta con lobby bar y servicio de traslado hasta el centro de Calafate con horarios de ida y vuelta. El estacionamiento es a la calle frente al hotel. El desayuno es regular, podría ofrecer mucho más por ser un hotel “5 estrellas” tal vez en su momento lo fue, pero hoy en día no alcanza esa categoría.
La habitación no es muy grande porque tiene mucho mobiliario, es peligroso la zona del inodoro porque chocas con el lavatorio. La calle para acceder al hotel está en muy mal estado, hace falta que pasen la máquina para repasar el camino de ripio. Las camas no son matrimoniales reales, son dos camas plaza y media juntas.

Rooms are very hot, with to Air con .. even with window open we couldn’t get cool at night so impacted sleep. Rooms are dated - dark furniture We were charged for 2 bottles of water we’d had in our room- as the hotel claims to be 5 star you’d expect at least a bottle of complimentary water for a 4 night expensive stay Very mediocre breakfast - this was our 6th hotel in our Chile/ Argentina holiday & by far the poorest breakfast. We’d had much better breakfasts at smaller hotels! This is a 3 or 4 star hotel at best Shame there is no outdoor seating area to take advantage of the lovely views Calls itself a ‘spa hotel’ but no spa staff .. !

Reviewed Feb 25, 2026It has a good view of El Calafate and it is reasonably easy to get into the town by the hotel bus. A young gentleman On the front desk was helpful in getting us moved to a better room after we complained that the room was too hot to sleep in.
The first night our room was unbearably warm. After complaining that we couldn’t sleep we were moved the next night. The price was high for what was a rather dated hotel.

nos toco unos hermosos dias por lo tanto no hacia frio asi que sufri la excesiva calefaccion de la habitacion por lo cual dormi con las ventanas abiertas

The hotel is very dated and dark. Despite the lovely summer weather and all the surrounding garden area and decking, there was no outside seating areas. The breakfast wasn't great. Not tea or coffee in the room.

Reviewed Jan 2, 2026The room itself was fairly comfortable, with a wide bed and good-quality bedding, which made sleeping pleasant. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short of expectations, especially for a hotel marketed as five-star. Breakfast was quite disappointing due to the very limited variety, and no custom orders were possible. With only two staff members handling everything, service was slow. The spa facilities were another major letdown. Most of the equipment seemed to be malfunctioning: both the sauna and steam room heaters did not work properly. There was no shower in the spa area, and no towels were provided, which is hard to justify at this level. Additionally, the pool contained an excessive amount of chlorine, leaving our skin irritated after use. Housekeeping and maintenance also need attention. The towels in the room were very worn out and were not changed during our stay. The furniture in the hotel’s common areas was visibly worn and gave the impression of poor upkeep. Overall, while there are a few positives, the service, facilities, and maintenance standards are far from what one would expect from a 5-star hotel.

Un 5 estrellas contrato por seguridad Jamás había tenido esta experiencia me comuniqué con la policía argentina y aún no responden pagué más de 1000 dólares por un pésimo servicio. Donde además nos arruinaron toda nuestra experiencia navideña nadie se hace responsable jamás he tenido mala experiencia con booxin. Pero esto es muy grave. Tengo que guardar mi maleta tb en caja fuerte. Que espanto

Le faltan detalles que definen a un hotel 5 estrellas,por ejemplo en la habitacion no te dejan agua, ni café ni te, en el baño te dejan 1 solo jabón para dos…. Son detalles que cuestan poco y suben el nivel de un hotel. Respecto el desayuno es pobre para un hotel de ese nivel

It provided very comfortable and clean room, kind and patient staff able to answer all our queries, excellent food and a beautiful view of the lake. It has an incredible spa and heated pool with availability of message on demand, perfect for the afternoon after tiring trekking and glacier expedition. Also a shuttle that can take you to the centre for free. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we recommend it to all.

El servicio de traslado hacia/desde el centro de El Calafate es muy necesario, aunque solamente lo ofrecen por la tarde. También me gustó que esté incluido el traslado desde el aeropuerto, aunque es solo para el ingreso
El servicio de spa estaba incluido en teoría, pero había que pagar extras por masajes y otras cosas más o menos interesantes. El desayuno podría se podría mejorar también.

Reviewed Nov 25, 2025This was an excellent hotel. After long trekking and coming bacj to luxury was soooo amazing 🤩! I even did a massage and facial, which was a highlight. This hotel goes above and beyond. We had room service too, after massages, which was such a bonus. But we did go into town one night for dinner and had the best lamb. The pool is great and front desk is so helpful. Really appreciated the bath too. First hotel in Argentina where there was a bathtub!!! Everyone was so kind.
