Great location right on the water and walking distance to cruise boarding.
Property needs some care, paint and cleaning. It's a beautiful historic building but feels tired, needs some attention, new rugs in hallways, walls need painting/cleaning and general tiding up (remove tables in lobby, bedding and towels piled at end of hallways, etc.
The location
We found it dirty The white walls in hallways covered in black hand prints The bathroom door in the restaurant covered in dirt Or sink in the bathroom, the rim covered in black . Our room had that last person smell Musty The plants in front garden dead but left in . The walkway needs repair Run down. In desperate need of tlc
The hotel was lovely and in a beautiful location. We spent the evening wandering the waterfront area and it was so peaceful and serene. We took the City Cruises tour the next day and it was literally steps away from the hotel and was a perfect introduction to the 1000 lakes area! The pub food was excellent, and the breakfast the next morning on the terrace was nice as well.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, for some undisclosed reason the gas had been cut off before we arrived and consequently there was no hot water. The staff was very apologetic and gave us a free room upgrade + $50 off dinner in their restaurant. So all in all it was a good value and I'll probably stay there again.
Location was absolutely stunning. Gardens and patios were beautiful. Waterfront seating with amazing views Front desk staff were very friendly. Breakfast was included and very good. Lovely crispy bacon! Free parking close to the entrance.
No fridge in room. Pillows were not good. No blackout blinds or curtain in room so very light when sun comes up in the morning. Tea was like warm water. Vending machines were out of stock.
Location
Friendly staff
Cold water in the shower. Building needs investment / renovation.
I stayed in this hotel last year and had superb breakfast on their balcony. This year the dining room wasn't available nor was the balcony and the breakfast in the pub did not come close to my experience last year. The staff, room and property were first class! A very enjoyable stay!
Location, charm of the inn itself. Good parking
The breakfast has room for improvement and the rooms could use a fridge
Location, breakfast
Very tired, in desperate need of painting. Extremely over priced.
Location and view of the water was great. The room was renovated and seemed pretty clean. Front desk service and care was great. Nice and close to the theatre. No fridge in the room.
Included breakfast portion was small. Hash browns served only a small handful. Bacon was really thin. The Men's washroom for the restaurant had stall doors that were pretty dirty and overall that washroom wasn't that clean.
All is fantastic....todo maravilloso
Tres bien.
Plus de spa, mais bien quand même.
The room was newly renovated. However no attempt was made to clean it between days. I didn't even see a maid service?
The biggest problem was the breakfast. I truly believe someone inexperienced was trying to cook. The first morning I had pancakes they were under cooked so I couldn't finish them the 2 tiny ones that were. The 2nd morning I tried the western omelet I took 2 bites and knew if I continued I'd be sick. I felt the effects of those 2 bites all day! Lastly I went down stairs to use the washroom it was dirty I believe an employee came out of the stall when I was there. I told him they were out of paper towels to dry your hands he just looked at me and didn't wash his, I truly hope he wasn't the cook!!
The breakfast was atrocious.
The location was perfect and the facilities with the Adirondack chairs chairs overlooking the water was beautiful. The breakfast was good.
I was disappointed that they didn’t have scallops going into the weekend starting on a Friday night for dinner with a limited menu including seafood. The room stunk of mildew, which made it very hard to be in and I was concerned for health reason. Also just outside of our room was a stronger smell of natural gas. When we mentioned it to front desk they said it was looked st yesterday and it was nothing. When I gave them a questionable look they said they would give them another call.
The location of the room was very good relative to the water. The woman at the check in was polite, The breakfast was nothing special but acceptable.
For the price the hotel is really below average. There is no elevator and no one offered to help carry the luggage up a steep staircase. The room smelled musty, the air conditioner is a wall unit and very noisy. The room was dark and old looking. It felt like a 1990s motel.
Friendly lady on front desk, great location, easy parking and comfortable beds. Female staff at breakfast was very kind and sweet.
Male staff in restaurant needs training on manners when dealing with customers, as a result we ate at restaurant across the street which was wonderful service and food. Curtains need an upgrade so that you can actually block out light without blocking off the air conditioning unit in room.
Location, close to town, other restaurants, playhouse, boat cruise, harbor , welcoming lobby and hard working staff ( I saw 4 young men cleaning rooms), a nice historical building, antique furniture and historical documents. The king size bed was comfy with very good pillows and comforter, good reception on the tv ( bathroom was fair as some mold needed removal), free coffee and extra comfy chairs. Walking distance to town, and the playhouse , beautiful property near the harbor.
Front desk clerk , a young man who was just stepping in for that night was not equipped with the knowledge of how to find my paid in full reservation. After showing him proof he made a phone call and we were able to check in. We are in our 70's and they knew I was celebrating a birthday and yet we were still assigned a room on the 3rd floor ( NO ELEVATOR) facing the front street. ( No way to change since the young man at the front desk had no clue how to do it ) Staff at breakfast area were extremely slow to clean off the tables to sit, give us a menu and take our order ( which by the way one was done incorrectly) Their cooks tend to use Pakistani ways of making omelettes so be aware of that. We did not eat in any of their other restaurants. I had requested a mini fridge and it did not work, I had sent a message through booking.com and there was no response. I had yogurt, cheese sticks and half a chicken wrap spoil and one medication that needed refrigeration. The first night the fire alarm went off for about 1 minute and several of us in the rooms around 9 pm came out to see if there was smoke or anyone telling us on the 3rd floor to come down. After it was turned off and we all went back to our rooms , it happened again. So once again we look for anyone telling us this is a serious and real need to evacuate. NOTHING . NOBODY called us and told us ANYTHING about what happened. There is a lack of training in my opinion on what is important to a guest at their hotel. We paid $456 for 2 nights including breakfast . Lastly we had to run the shower literally 5-10 minutes to get hot water. ( maybe since we were on the 3rd floor)
The room was comfortable, the bed was very comfortable and the staff was nice.
We loved the location and how clean the rooms and the common areas were. Very quiet. Even though we did not get a waterfront view, I think it would be difficult to not see the water from any vantage point in the rooms.
I didn't like that there was no mini fridge or small microwave. Everything was on the main floor, including ice. A little annoying to go up and down after you check in or decide to get ice. No one gave us this information so we had to wander to find the ice machine.
Buona colazione.
Nice location
A bit expensive
Great location on the water. Good breakfasts and friendly staff
The hours of the bar attached to the hotel and the spa was closed
Location, a large room
The room needs a small refrigerator and a toilet brush.
Location, and the food.
They need to hire more staff in dining room.
Everything near by. Water scape looked beautiful.
No elevator, but the staff handled my luggage nicely.
Very old but nice building has waterfront. Because it was built 1900s, there is no elevator or wheelchair accessible for the top floor.
My omelette was terrible -overcooked and not edible. Outdoor patio was very nice. Dinner was just okay and the pub was old, dark and outdated. Food was okay. Service was passable.
See above
The location right in front of river, near cruise harbor! Hotel is very cute and beautiful!
Breakfast is not so good!
The location is excellent! The views of the lake are beautiful and downtown is 5 minutes walk. The staff was nice and parking was easy.
The breakfast was OK. Nothing extra. We had the avocado toast, and boy it was nothing but smashed avocados on a flat toast and some seasoning sprinkled on top. It was the only dairy-free option on the menu. Other folks seemed to enjoy the eggs and meat. While it is made to order (which I prefer over a buffet), I wish they take a little time to think through the menu and update it.
Location was wonderful. Steps to the boat tours and to the Playhouse theatre. Short walk to the main street for shops and cafes.
Hospitality was lacking. In both restaurants, my group was seated before the tables were cleaned. The glassware was returned twice due to lip marks. During the morning complimentary breakfast, we had an hour from 10-11 but were rushed to order and finish. The waitress took our coffee mugs promptly at 11am even when we were not finished....she simply stated her shift was done.
Very convenient to all things fun in Gananoque!
We were in one of the cabin rooms, the room was clean but there was a musty smell!
Perfect location. Close to the Playhouse and overlooking the water. Loved the "old charm" feel and rich history of the building.
Carpet going up the stairs need cleaning.
If was really central and walking distance to everything
There was no fridge in the rooms and the included breakfast was not good , everything seemed preheated and I couldn't feed my baby any of it , so would rather have a reduced price and no breakfast as we had to then go out and pay for breakfast
Great location
Clean, had a restaurant great location beautiful look out
breakfast the waitress was very friendly
the lady checking us in was not the most pleasant (we were early arriving) the location of our room overlooking the parking lot was not what we expected the body wash in the shower was empty
Location of the hotel was great! Close to the water an walking distance to the town.
N/A
Waterfront location
Lovely location easy parking
No lift Breakfast slightly chaotic so don’t be in a rush
we had dinner at Muskie Jakes at the Gananoque Inn. We had a male server who was just ok. my concern was with the questionable cleanliness of the restaurant. When on my way to the restroom there was a door that was marked Staff only. I have included a photo. It looked like this door may lead to the kitchen. I wonder how clean the inside of the kitchen area is when this is what the customer Can see….. Who would think that this is acceptable?
The inn is old and has a tired feel but has been remade to modern standards and has a certain charm. No issues with our room - comfortable beds with good quality linens, a newly renovated bathroom and a view to die for. The breakfasts though, as other reviews have pointed out, are indeed horrible. I’d avoid anything coming from this kitchen. Otherwise there’s potential here for an excellent stay in a hard to beat location right on the water.
I liked the location and water view. The staff are very kind.
There is no refrigerator in my room.

Location
We chose the Gananoque Inn because of its beautiful waterfront location, but unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. The rooms are very dated, which we could have overlooked, but they also did not feel clean. That had the biggest impact on our stay. The dining experience was also below expectations. At dinner, the restaurant had already run out of salmon, limiting the menu choices. The following morning, there was a regional power outage, which we understand was outside the hotel’s control. However, most breakfast options were unavailable, and the food that was served arrived cold and was of poor quality. Service was another disappointment. The reception staff were not particularly welcoming, and there was no secure luggage storage available. We were asked to leave our suitcases in the middle of the lobby sitting area, which was inconvenient and did not feel secure. What made this especially disappointing was the price. At close to CAD $500 for one night, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, service, and overall experience. The waterfront location is certainly beautiful, but in our opinion, the location alone does not justify the price. Unfortunately, we left feeling that the stay offered very poor value for money.
Location was great
No elevators, not very clean in the room
Property was in a great location, right on the waterfront and close to the downtown area. The price included a free hot breakfast, daily. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was recently renovated and clean. Parts of the rest of the hotel are in need of renovation but it was still overall clean and pleasant. Over all I would recommend this hotel. Ganonque is a pretty little town, worth visiting while in the region. The people are very friendly and the staff at Ganonque Inn were the true starts. They were wonderful.
Location was very good
Property looks tired
Emplacement Chambre ok Personnel sympa
Pas d ascenseur
It would have been nice to know we were staying in a motel type room outside of the main inn when we booked. It was almost $300 a night. It was so damp and musty in the room everything felt wet. This has new East Indian owners and food was terrible (Free breakfast) cold buffet style. Seems the guys in kitchen also clean the rooms and do renovation on the property. Our friends ended up in what they called a "cottage" which was feet from the large parking lot. They also thought they booked a room in the Inn. The parking lot was half empty so we don't think they were at full capacity so why separate our group and stick us basically off the main property. We will definitely will be back to Gananoque but not to the Hotel.

Literie confortable, parking gratuit 👍🏻

Beautiful location
the location
Location was awesome, as It was right on the water and the breakfast included was amazing, servers and front desk staff were awesome.
It was kind of dated which was nice to an extent. It needs fridges in the rooms. Our food went bad as there wasnt anywhere to put it and most rooms these days have small fridges in the room.
When we arrived the owner starting yelling at us about parking in the private parking lot not thinking we were costumers, even after we started moving our cars he continued to yell at us. we then decided to go to the Stonewater right next door. the owner was also walking around bare foot.
Location was beautiful.
Breakfast was small and not very good . Pancakes were cold . Sausage was bad and cold .
Le service, le confort, l'insonorisation, l'emplacement.
Rien P
Location on the water was great. Breakfast overlooking the water was beautiful.
Breakfast was basic, but ok.
Koffer schleppen
The staff was great. The free breakfast hit the spot. Very good location to the 1000 island tours.
Location
I was pleasantly surprised by this Inn after reading the reviews. The rooms were pleasant and clean. Property is built on a hill and has a lot of stairs and no elevator. I had asked for a ground floor room with 2 beds for mobility issues. The room was in a motel-like addition. It had a walkout to the waterfront patio which was a lovely feature. The bathroom was newly renovated with walk-in shower. Beds were comfortable. Some furniture was a bit worn, but not an issue. Location is very close to the Thousand Island Cruise terminal. "Free" Breakfast was not great. Avoid the omelets . They were precooked and cold. Best bet is the eggs and bacon. It was at least freshly cooked. I stayed at this property as I was meeting with others who were also staying there. Although I enjoyed my stay, it was overpriced.
The history , the beds were so comfortable , and the view
Lack of historical ambience . At arrival there was used bedding and garbage throughout all the hallways .
The breakfast and wait staff were perfect
What we didn’t like was that the dining room tables were dirty. They could have been covered by some nice white clean linens. The chairs on the outside patio were very uncomfortable.
The complimentary breakfast was great. The reception was efficient.
The room was an old strip motel with some newer decor. The room had a musty damp smell like a tent or trailer. The fridge worked but rusty inside and a bad seal. The room was fairly clean but toilet still had crap stuck to the bowl.
The friendly and helpful staff was the most significant highlight of our stay. The breakfast area has a full glass wall which looks out over the river and dock where the cruise boats arrive and depart from - lovely scenery.
The Inn is a very old building and is in need of a "freshen up" as the carpeting while clean is very warn and needs replacing to improve the overall appearance and atmosphere.
Sitting by the water beautiful scenery Accessible
The only thing to like was the view from the dining room!
The staff that checked us in was less that friendly, when inquired about if our room had a view of water, the reply was you got the room you paid for - a view of the parking lot! The facility is dingy and feels run down, for the price paid we were expecting better. The room was not well light and the “table” only seated one, the desk chair was so bad almost fell back when I sat down on it. The TV was like watching snow, the quality was so bad. The facility is advertised as also having a spa - there isn’t one. Breakfast came out lukewarm, sausage was actually cold - horrible quality!
The location is walking distance to the city cruise centre, very convenient. Just walk out to the main street there are plenty of food choices. It's a small town, there's not much to expect. But the frontal lake view is awesome.
The inn is old, carpet on the stairs and corridor is as old. Room carpet smells bad. The odour is quite strong when open the door entering into the room. Bed is very high, need to have technique to climb up. Aircon is noisy.
Location, views, riverside chairs
Smudged glassware, grumpy clerk, incomplete room cleanup
Very nice old charm hotel in a beautiful setting
Loved that it was on the water! Such a scenic view and peaceful and tranquil!
We loved it all!
