Very nice views and big and beautiful property. The staff makes you feel like a part of the family. Even had a visit from the owner during breakfast. Good food although it isn’t cheap.

There was no hot water and the place is very far away from everything. But I went there for the peace and that is what I got. Only a few other people than me, which is a shame for such a great place

Our Villas were just amazing. The view from our Balcony is breathtaking. The whole resort is truly Artistic. The staff is incredible and the location is mindblowing. The bathroom was my best part.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The host and staff were so friendly and helpful. The location worked for us, however you are limited to restaurant options unless you take a taxi. Breakfast was great. We enjoyed the swimming pools, table tennis, darts, gym and pool table. Our room had no hot water, however our second room did, so we were able to use the kids shower.

El entorno exterior es, sin duda, lo mejor de Tanah Merah Art Resort. Los jardines, las vistas, la arquitectura y el ambiente tienen muchísimo encanto y hacen que el lugar tenga un potencial enorme. Precisamente por eso, la experiencia resulta más decepcionante cuando entras en las habitaciones. El estado de algunas instalaciones está claramente por debajo de lo que uno espera por el precio: se nota falta de mantenimiento, problemas con el agua caliente y el aire acondicionado, malos olores en el baño y poco aislamiento acústico. También tuvimos problemas con mosquitos debido a las ventanas. Las zonas exteriores son bonitas y tienen una atmósfera especial, pero algunas instalaciones necesitan más cuidado y mantenimiento. La piscina tampoco nos transmitió siempre la sensación de limpieza que esperábamos. En resumen, lo de fuera nos gustó mucho más que lo de dentro. El entorno es precioso y la arquitectura tiene mucho potencial, pero las habitaciones y el mantenimiento general hacen que la experiencia no esté a la altura de lo que promete el lugar ni del precio que pagas.

Nuestra experiencia en Tanah Merah Art Resort fue bastante decepcionante. El entorno y la arquitectura tienen mucho encanto, pero las instalaciones necesitan claramente un buen mantenimiento y renovación. La habitación presentaba varios problemas: falta de mantenimiento, problemas con el agua caliente y el aire acondicionado, además de malos olores en el baño. También se nota bastante la falta de aislamiento acústico, por lo que se escucha fácilmente el ruido del exterior y de otras habitaciones. Incluso tuvimos problemas con mosquitos debido a las ventanas y a la falta de un buen aislamiento. La limpieza y el estado de algunas zonas comunes tampoco estuvieron a la altura de lo esperado. La piscina, en determinados momentos, no daba precisamente una sensación de limpieza y cuidado. Además, la ubicación es bastante aislada y llegar hasta Ubud requiere desplazarse por carreteras pequeñas, por lo que dependes bastante del transporte. El restaurante tampoco nos pareció especialmente bueno en relación calidad-precio: precios elevados y una oferta bastante limitada. En definitiva, el lugar podría ser espectacular si estuviera mejor mantenido, porque tiene unas vistas y una arquitectura muy especiales. Pero actualmente transmite más la sensación de un resort que tuvo su época de esplendor y que necesita una renovación importante. Por el precio que se paga, esperábamos bastante más.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel with an incredible atmosphere! The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and we felt very well taken care of from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! We stayed in a Classic room with a private veranda — beautiful, cozy, and full of authentic Balinese character. It felt like we were staying not just in a hotel, but in a historic place, almost like a museum of Balinese culture. The grounds are absolutely stunning — spacious, lush, and surrounded by tropical greenery, with breathtaking views of the jungle and a river flowing below. Everything is peaceful, beautiful, and immersed in nature. This is a place where you can truly feel the spirit of Bali. We loved our stay!

Location was perfect for our family, games room excellent, staff were so welcoming and friendly polite can not praise them enough, room was great pool too and the walk to the waterfall was fun, recommend staying here will return.

I honestly can’t believe why more people are not here! Beautiful garden resort with frangipanis falling, art and sculptures everywhere. Romantic setting for dinner. Villa so traditional! Look Up Peter Bloch the Jungle Dentist! Quite the story. A forgotten gem!

Our Bathroom had very steep steps so that was difficult for me. Walk to waterfall a bit treacherous so maybe avoid that.

The resort is situated on a slope leading down to the river, which not only provides the most beautiful views but is also reflected in its stunning multi-level architectural design. This ensures that, no matter where you are e.g. room, pool, yoga area, you can always enjoy the scenery. The resort is unique and full of character, with art pieces thoughtfully placed throughout the property. There are facilities for everyone, including a pool, yoga area, bridge, library, table tennis, and much more, offering great enjoyment for both adults and children. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, both in the lobby and in the restaurant, where the food was thoroughly enjoyable. Everything was just lovely, and I can highly recommend a stay at Tanah Merah.

L'environnement est incroyable, le lieu semble chargé d'une énergie sacrée, face à la forêt, les singes sont venus manger dans des arbres tous près, les piscines sont belles, gros plus avec le shala incroyable qui donne sur la forêt pour une pratique de yoga exceptionnelle. Si vous cherchez un lieu calme et apaisant, cet endroit vous plaira. Le petit déjeuner est très correct. Nous avons adoré notre séjour là bas.

Le wifi ne fonctionnait pas toujours très bien. Les prix de certains services en chambre en dollars et assez élevés pour le coin. Une longue attente pour avoir un taxi le moment du départ car c'était l'heure du repas...

Stayed here two years ago but for longer, only a short stop to prepare for the hike next morning. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely huge room and facilities

Very nice place to stay. Outside of town so you need car or use ride share to get in town. Otherwise really nice property.

Breakfast was decent, so was the restaurant if you wanna use it. I would call it basic to ok. I think that’s the only thing they could improve on… but I am also saying that as a westerner and I might have different expectations. And judging food is always very subjective.

The swimming pools, views, and entire staff were wonderful and incredibly friendly. We had many great conversations about the history of the pieces used throughout the property and the various art and architectural styles you’ll find here. We stayed in the Temor Cottage, which was carefully preserved and restored at this location. It preserves its rustic charm but now includes a marble bathroom addition. (Careful on the stairs!) The property offers two restaurants and a wonderful breakfast, as well stunning jungle views. I would suggest the Warung cafe on the property as well as that was priced in idr and really fun artistic pieces throughout the building and restaurant. I recommend the spring rolls and the ice cream! It’s a fantastic place for a group stay, (a few great spaces made for yoga or meditation) and the Wi-Fi was strong throughout the property. A lot of heart and soul went into this resort and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you

The dinner prices at one restaurant were high (priced in USD) for Indonesian food which seemed odd. However the food was good and we had a great breakfast with warm fresh pastries. (Best we have had on our trip here so far!) There is another hotel next door we accidentally wandered into (it’s easy to do) and those were the only staff that were rude.

Wow, what a resort so tranquil and relaxing. All the staff were accommodating and friendly. Food in the restaurant was lovely and reasonable, restaurant staff were 2nd to none.

Staff were friendly and respectful. We were refunded (did not meet advertised standards, and we left)

Dingy room, poor bedding, dark and uncomfortable, small room. Shabby furniture and fixtures, some broken. NOT soundproof. Thatch design, had to whisper for private conversation, and could hear neighbours chat. Expensive and inaccurate Star rating. Not mosquitoproof (did provide Mosquito nets) Disapointing from what we were expecting. Not sure how this got 5 stars. Fridge, kettle, and coffee making facilities in bathroom/toilet room.

Het personeel was voorkomend en vriendelijk. Het ontbijt was goed,maar voor een vijf sterren resort wel wat heel eenvoudig. Het privé zwembad was heerlijk.

Op de dag van vertrek wilden wij graag wat later vertrekken,maar uiteraard gingen wij wel tijdig uitchecken en namen we de bagage mee naar de ruimte bij de receptie. Daar stond niets van in en ons werd vriendelijk te verstaan gegeven te vertrekken. De eigenaar was zichtbaar in de receptie,maar verder onvriendelijk. Verder geen waslapjes en verzorgingsproducten in de badkamer. Verder slecht,dat de prijzen in het restaurant in dollars staan vermeld en de prijzen bovendien buiten proportioneel hoog zijn. Niet geschikt voor mensen,die moeite hebben met trap lopen. Verder is het hotel sleets aan het worden en de planten zagen er niet heel verzorgd uit.

Fantastic location in the cultural heart of Bali the beautiful tranquil Ubud. Superb hotel in magnificent greenery surroundings. All staff are very kind, helpful & friendly always there to assist you with a smile. Lovely swimming pools, with breathtaking views. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to experience the real Bali, central location to many famous sites nearby. The resort also arrange taxis at very competitive rates with reliable trustworthy drivers too. Enjoy Bali & visit Ubud.

Breakfast was a set menu, with a choice of Balinese, American or Continental, portions were minimal but just about enough.

No easily accessible plugs for charging devices, meals are very plain. It's called a art and yoga resort but no yoga is provided. No umbrellas put out for deck chairs. Room smelt very musty. No vegan options for food besides fruit. I'm normally not one to complain but this was bad 😅

All the food was delicious and the restaurant by the frog pond was wonderful. The pool outside our villa was perfect with a great view over the valley. The most outstanding feature was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

The villa we booked had a steep staircase down to the bathroom which for older people was a hazard. We moved to a level, more expensive villa which was perfect.

Prachtig resort, met veel zorg en artistieke aandacht ingericht. Het personeel was super vriendelijk.

Queda un xic allunyat del centre de Ubud, 20 min, depenent del trànsit, però hi ha molta tranquil·litat.

Herzlich, gastfreundlich, sehr bemüht! Unglaublich tolles Ambiente, Charme und Stil. Überall hängt Kunst, Bilder, Skulpturen. Alles ist wunderbar arrangiert, es ist ein Genuss da zu sein. Überdies ein sehr, sehr schönes (Frühstücks) Restaurant mit leckerem Essen. Alles nicht mehr neu, sehr gepflegt und total charmant.

The location is very quiet and beautiful.But it's far from the center and difficult to get taxis.There is nothing outside if u plan to walk around.

The food was very average for the price. Also there was usually no manager to help out with travel or booking taxis .

The view from my villa was outstanding. I can hear the sound of water fall because it was just near to our villa just needed to climb down the stairs

The washroom in our villa has no separate roof, means the washroom walls were not high enough to reach the roof. All the washroom smells came into the whole villa. I understand our villa has theme of jungle but the smell is not acceptable. Fridge, water and kettle (food) were located in washroom, ewww..

Manglende parasoller ved poolområdet, utrolig lydt på værelserne, man kan høre bare naboen taber en lille ting på gulvet og når folk taler i telefon. Det er ærgerligt at altanen er lukket til

La vétusté du lieu, vraiment très ancien et peu entretenu

Un hôtel avec une vue à couper le souffle. Nous y sommes allés avec un ami en août et l’hôtel nous a très gentiment surclassé. Chambre avec très grande taille et vue sur la montagne (et entendait d’ailleurs la rivière lorsqu’on sortait de la chambre)

Everything was Beautiful, the staff were attentive. And when I needed something done or a minor change to my sleeping quarters . It was handled straight away. The breakfast was amazing The staff are wonderful and the whole vibe of the place is nice . I stayed in the rooms / if you have limited ability to walk this would not be suitable.

It is a truly beautiful place. The location is quiet and peaceful so if you’re looking for somewhere to relax this is it. It has its own waterfall and river. Staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. It was a very Balinese feel to the place

Pros: The quietness of the resort, it's in the nature, it's out of the way, which for us was nice, it's got an access to a waterfall, the cafe at the top has great views and the whole complex is really interesting, different with art dotted around. The staff were nice and helpful.

It is 20min away from Ubud, so need a scouter or Grab every time you want to go to town. The road has works on it being done so cannot walk it really. Also we stayed in Deluxe room and there was nothing deluxe about the room. It was smelly of sewage badly in the bathroom, the room was always hot despite the aircon. I think they know the aircon is not strong enough as there is a fan in the room as well. We asked the manager to do something about the bathroom smelling of sewage politely, but the smell went for a few hours and came back the next day. I think this place has a potential but the rooms would have to be really refurbished.

Hotellet var ok, interessant utformet og med stor kunstsamling og mase rariteter, men vi forstår ikke hvordan det kan ha 5 stjerner. Ser i etterkant at det er oppført med 3 stjerner andre steder enn booking.com og stemmer mtp overordnet inntrykk av hotell og restaurant.

Veldig langt fra sentrum Helt ok rom men ikke 5 stjerner.

Hotel is in need of a major update with furniture and amenities.

Views from the hotel, size of bedroom, old art look of the hotel and all interiors.

1) Hardly any option in vegetarian food in breakfast, 2) Staff not trained, 3) In dinner, most of the items in the menu were not available. 4) This is more like 2-3 star hotel (not 4 star at all) with artful/beautiful old big rooms.

Hotel interior needs touch up here and there eg bathroom door could only close when you locked the door. Fabric on sofa was very old with holes. Window did not entirely connect with the wall so small insects can fly in - beds are though covered with mosquito nets. Limited charging options for electronic devices. Simple breakfast, dinner at hotel was pricey for what it was.

A taste of the old Bali this hotel hosts a beautiful collection of Balinese art. The staff are 100% wonderful. The rooms are huge. The pools are great and with a lovely view.
