Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Excellent choice of menu and hearty breakfast. Snacks and drinks available at the hydro spa is a bonus. Nice views and surroundings by the lake to relax and unwind. Walking around the lake and golf also an added bonus.
Rooms need AC in the hot summers. Cost for darts a bit high.
Room had springy uncomfortable beds. Just 2 teabags for us both. No A/C. Didn't try the spa or breakfast.
We tried to call and book a table in the restaurant but were cut off 4 times so we had to book via reception as we never received a call back.
Excellent hotel. Clean, tidy and easy self check-in. Lovely touch having games to play. (Ps5, darts, shuffle board) me and my partner had a lovely night away Would stay again but wont have breakfast next time
The only thing that we had a slight problem with was with breakfast choices. My partner has celiac disease and the lady service only offered us gf toast. We paid for breakfast in our room price and only having toast as a option was disappointing
Breakfast was decent and staff in the breakfast space were friendly and helpful. The facilities and parking are good and location worked well. The room was clean, well presented and a decent size.
The heating was stuck on for the whole building so rooms were unbearably hot which impacted our ability to sleep. When we arrived on the first night the room was 26c and although we left the fan on by the morning it was 30c. We reported the problem with the room’s heat to reception giving them the room number and asked if the could get someone to look at it. After breakfast coming back we noticed all the other rooms had all their windows open and walking back through the building realised the whole building was hot. The second night we opened all windows behind the blind and kept the fan on again which gave an average heat of 26.5c again making it difficult to sleep. As far as we could tell the heat problem was a known issue but nothing appeared to be happening to fix it.
Nice views over the lake and friendly staff.
Lack of gluten free options at the restaurant.
A little disappointed they were not able to provide a requested breakfast off-menu item, but the breakfast I did have was excellent
Staff, although pleasant felt a little impersonal
Food good at grill
The facilities were fine
Unfortunately I had a room booked during the heatwave and it was so hot in my room I couldn't actually stay in it so we left. The temperature was over 40 degrees in the room which was unbearable. The window barely opened and the small fan provided was not up to the job
Allt!

In a nice setting, easy to park and bedrooms were comfortable.
Electronic check in is a pain. As I hadn’t been to the hotel before I had to wait for someone to give me directions to the bedrooms and an overview of the facilities.
My room was high quality fixtures & fittings and a very comfy bed. The staff were friendly, professional and polite.
Everything clean and tidy. Good gym. Staff helpful
Location
Breakfast
Compact and near. Very clean. Great staff.
Nothing!
Great location & restaurant waitress & waiter staff were fantastic.
No reception staff on arrival. Near Impossible to contact with the number given in my booking, that no longer exists. Had to ring sister hotel to get a number to call. Which was a mobile number. No one picked up or returned my call. My husband went back to reception and the lady said she was just standing in for a colleague and couldn’t help us but would get him to call us as soon as he gets back. He did not call. Had to keep calling a hour later he picked up and said that he had not had any calls from my number. I’m guessing l called back on the same number about 5 or more times. I’d rate reception staff 1/10 Not wheelchair friendly with doors to restaurant that are not open or automatic. All fire doors throughout corridor of bedrooms were closed when we came back from eating at restaurant so impossible to get to any rooms if in wheelchair. Booked a super king bed. But there are none at the hotel. Very misleading and disappointing.
Good position near to A1M, easy access and parking. Room functional.
Noise, loud, from other guests goes on very late!! Mostly outside. Like a lot of british hotels, poorly vented, and room very stuffy overnight especially (with windows as wide as possible which is only a few inches due to 'straps'.
Been before, that's why we chose. Lovely place

rooms where nice
there was no fridge in the room and the television set is old version.
Very friendly staff and facilities easily accessible
Checking out time could not be extended
I loved my room, cleaning staff was on point when I needed anything ie another fan the attended to my needs straight away. Breakfast was superb had a choice to eat inside or outside which has beautiful sceneries. I rebooked to stay here again for 2027. Also this location has local stores and takeaways within walking distance.
Nothing to report
Room felt dated, didn't get the view I’d requested instead I was facing what looked like an office building. Staff were friendly, but seemed inexperienced. Walk round the nature reserve was not well signposted and felt unsafe for a single woman to walk around. Lots of the premises seemed deserted. AC made a really loud noise. Felt impersonal and catered mainly to bigger groups. Food was nothing special. Did not use spa or pool facilities as I was a little put off by the experience. Not sure I’d want to stay again.
Everything close
Bed was very hard
Room was clean and had everything needed, spa was available but no time to use this time but it's worth a visit. The restaurant food was good, only a small menu. Breakfast buffet had lots of choice.\ Staff were all friendly and helpful
Would have been nice to have some biscuits with the tea and coffee in the room.
Beautiful spot! Very modern, attentive staff and couldn’t fault any of the facilities. Probably the best shower I’ve ever had in a hotel! Great location just off the motorway but set back enough to feel nice and secluded with lovely views. The Grqvel Pit restaurant serves a fab choice of food which didn’t disappoint and the room was spacious with a large comfy bed. Really happy and can’t wait to go back one day.
Clean, they dealt with all my requests promptly
The only thing we found was the room and bathroom was very hot
Beautiful and quiet
All food stopped at 9pm
Loved the setting, rooms were absolutely spotless, perfect shower and the huge bed. Very peaceful sleep, no noise at all.
Initially, when I arrived we were in the room furthest from the reception(ground level) wasn't chuffed, my displeasure soon turned after realising we probably had the quietest room as there was no footfall beyond.
Cleanliness
Over priced meals ,beds hard as rock
Lovely scenery, room was amazing and Y spa was perfect to relax in. Also cater for gluten free which is normally more of a struggle
No music in evening at the gravel pit
This time reception area was staffed and welcomed I like the simplicity of the hotel
I purchased room large bed with sofa area ( which wasn’t ) the room very humid No smart tv ( as I have had previously ) areal didn’t work nor the radio channel wasn’t tuning in
Easy to find and park. Room was clean and tidy. Just a very average hotel.
Self checkin at a hotel is not acceptable after traveling the last thing I want to do is look for emails. Very poor. What happened to the days of actual customer service. Not a proper spa, no massage available.
A lovely hotel, everywhere was spotlessly clean and all the staff were lovely. We really enjoyed our stay.
Comfy beds. Great shower. Room fan. Spacious room. Cheerful helpful staff
The coffee machine in the café didn't make good coffee... We tried different types. Very weak
We had a really gorgeous weekend here. The bar and games are fun, the rooms are modern and clean (though note - no fridge) and the surroundings are lovely. Breakfast was very basic for the price - skip breakfast if not on a corporate package!
Functional, good parking
Restaurant food was poor quality and presentation was thoughtless.
Great location, clean room.
No air conditioning was surprising. Not a good breakfast.
Easy check in and out. Very nice breakfast.

The hotel grounds are beautiful and there is a good health and wellness centre.
The bedroom was small. There was no AC in the bedroom. The hotel buildings were uncomfortably hot. A fan was put in the room which just blew out hot air even on the ‘power cool’ setting. Breakfast was expensive and really disappointing. Everything absolutely swimming in grease / fat, paper cups given for tea and coffee which came from a machine. Asked if we could have scrambled egg instead of fried and were told no. Breakfast was really bad value for money, could have got a MUCH nicer breakfast elsewhere.
Room was very clean with large tv
We wanted a large double bed and got two single beds pushed together which were very soft and not that comfortable
Great location, easy check in, lovely view of the lake, some great peaceful walks. Cool things to see on the way too … Loads of bunny’s around in the evening, so cute. Room was comfy, good shower… sustainable and really cool decor. Tea coffee good brands. Had a games bunker and you could play a bunch of PlayStation games no charge, electric darts, shuffle board … Drinks in the bar were great.
We ate in the restaurant and there was a hair in the food, we didn’t eat the rest of the meal - they did apologise and refund it. Room was a double and mattresses were great but had 2 singles pushed together and gap really wasn’t comfortable. There was a massssive cobweb in the bathroom above the sink, no idea how’s it been missed for so long.
The spa attached only. The gym was ok too if not busy
Sadly a disappointing stay. Lots of Hotel room issues...which were kindly resolved as best as could be at the time. In my honest opinion I would suggest not upgrading the room
The environment was excellent
There were a few spiders, and I dropped an email, but no response
Room facilities, and sport facilities and bar excellent
prefer better TV channels
Location good, staff lovely, outside the bar area not tidy nor comfortable. Metal chairs no cushions and glasses not collected. Also very noisy due to conference.
The room quiet and comfortable and felt safe. No bath a downer. Also shower nowhere to put the handheld if you dont want to get hair wet.
Clean and spacious room. Staff friendly and helpful. Easy to get to. Very nice stay.
Fantastic
Nothing
Clean room, hotel reception was efficient and smelt lovely!
No air conditioning in the room. Basic toiletries. No fridge in the room.
Really friendly staff, liked the robots in the restaurant. Bedroom was comfortable and bed good.
Slightly strange art work in the corridors
Quiet room allocated on request. Very clean hotel and room. Friendly staff. Food in the restaurant was delicious and lovely setting over looking the lake.
My only negative was how hot the room was. There was no air con only a tower fan which didn’t help. Didn’t want to leave the windows open overnight as was ground floor, so didn’t sleep well as the room was so hot and stuffy. Air con needed of some sort.
The setting is really beautiful and it felt like a real retreat.
No bath in the bathroom and no fridge
We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, we went to the local pub as the food suited us better, the location was good.
We couldn't find any menus, we would have preferred them to be at the table which would make more sense.
Location. Spa facilities and staff
Extremely hot weekend and rooms were uncomfortable having no air conditioning
Location is great.
The Rooms are far too HOT, fans did not make much difference. Breakfast is extremely expensive for what is on offer. £18.50 each
Rooms were very accessible, close to cars and all ground floor.
Pool was weird, very small and limited to 5 people so there was a queue which was odd and meant no change to get in the jacuzzi as it was full of people waiting for the pool.
Very clean
Nothing
Everything pleasant greeting by the staff ☺️ House Keeping staff was absolutely 💯 👌🏾 when I needed anything ie I requested a fan for my room within minutes I got my fan. Breakfast was very nice 😋 I have already booked to stay in 2027. I throughly recommend this hotel 🏨 to friends and family 💯
Not applicable as there is nothing not to like at the fabulous hotel
comfortable room, excellent buffet breakfast
self check in no receptionist on arrival
Location and rooms were nice. TV needs a bit upgrading Smart TV etc.
Location and property were beautiful
Lovely modern hotel, comfortable room, plenty of outside space overlooking the lake and golf course, great to sit and enjoy a drink from the bar.
Very nice breakfast in pretty location & not too far from the room. Very comfortable bed . Lovely shower . The head housekeeper was extremely good & very helpful. She went out of her way to help us.
The room was 1 million degree hot ( with 2 big fans going all night ) The room room was not cleaned after the 1st night , very disappointed about that .
Clean modern facility
No air conditioning but my room had a tower fan in it
Hotel au calme avec un personnel très aimable. Ils ont régularisé un problème de chambre en nous offrant un cocktail .
Le prix est un peu excessif
The room was great - spacious and clean with a very comfy large bed. Lovely shower room. Wifi worked well. A fan was in the room which was thoughtful as it was warm, though opening the windows did the job for us. Very convenient location. Plenty of parking space. Very easy to check in and out. Nice to have tea and coffee in the room. Good communication with the hotel. The Crown Inn is a short walk and had a more adventurous menu (several different fish choices on offer) this particular night.
It's a shame the pool wasn't open on Sunday evening - it was hot and a swim would have been great. We didn't use the restaurant as my partner is pescatarian and there was little to suit on the Gravel Pit menu - it was out anniversary which called for something a bit more special than a burger or a pizza. Other restaurants on the site looked more promising but were not all open on a Sunday evening.
Everything and a fan was in each room which made the stay so much more comfortable
Nothing
Layout
Too tight to small fire a room and no air con
We stayed for the formula 1 so we were unable to use the breakfast or dinner during our stay, we did manage breakfast on the Monday we left. Breakfasts was nice but small choice I suppose. Room was comfortable and spacious. The area was lovely and quiet. Good few shops and restaurants close by.
Our fan stopped working in the room which was unfortunate. When we arrived there was no body wash but it was replaced when the room was cleaned. Was slightly dusty and the shower had dirt around the outside of it.
Nice and clean
Room very hot - fan did not help. Needs air conditioner
Lovely location and resort with plenty to do.

The spacious twin room. Excellent staff, nothing was too much bother. The food was great too.
The fridge wasnt cold enough.
Hotel upgrade is beautiful, really stylish. Rooms are super comfy and spacious. Very clean. Complimentary water was a nice touch with hot weather. Golf course great price and well maintained.
Food in the restaurant was slightly pricey for what it was but still nice food. No air con in rooms, just provided with a fan so sleeping was very difficult.
Great value for money hotel, the rooms are clean the bathrooms are clean and modern, breakfast is great and the staff were all very polite and welcoming
It makes sense to stay here if you’re planning to play sports, otherwise a fairly dull place with no character. Room price is cheap but spa, food and drinks are overpriced and will make it expensive
It’s off the motorway, and the lake is artificial, no sceneries on the British countryside. The hotel is brand new but lacks style. With so many beautiful places in England, this is quite boring
Breakfast was very good Room was hot but the fan helped ....exceptional conditions with the heat wavec
We loved the location the staff the atmosphere and the room
Nothing would have liked a balcony option
Great location. Great facilities and staff
The location and facilities were good . The room temperature control system was very poor. We left at 4am due to unbearable temperature conditions. It was very hot
Room temperature was uninhabitable
Lovely view and settings. Relaxing and comfortable
The room decoration was basic and plain compared to the rest of the resort.
Clean rooms, comfortable bed, lots of things to do.
Room was very hot.
Location
Breakfast finishes at 9am weekdays and some items not available at 0840 had to as, for couple items
Nice and modern, clean and easy to book in. The breakfast was very good.
Nothing we didn’t like, but the evening meal menu had some fish options I would have given a 10.
Absolutely stunning location and beautiful modern stylish rooms . Breakfast as a help your self buffet best ever experienced
good room and good location
No opportunity for late checkout
The breakfast was lovely, fresh and plentiful. The spa area was perfect, clean, spacious and very modern. Our room was not overly large but had everything we needed, beautifully clean and bathroom was spacious. Location and outside space was really peaceful and relaxing.
Lake view and lovely restaurant
Robots in restaurant
The staff who were on duty at breakfast . They were very helpful
The staff on duty at reception when we arrived to check in. We informed her that the so she was not clear and she ignored us and did. Or wish to acknowledge our experience. That’s not the way to work with members of the public.
Staff were mega helpful in dealing with an administrative error. Really helped me enjoy the break
The only minor point is that there is no Aircon,so request a fan or two
Location for ease of access off the A1 and the bar area overlooking the lake - fab, hotel facilities including the gym & pool, and staff who were all brilliant and looked after us.
It’s a bit unfair due to the exceptional weather we are having but the room was unbearably hot; it’s a good thing we brought our own fan. There was a fan in the room which circulated warm air, 2 fans helped but only just. The rooms need air conditioning. The fan in the room had a temperature indicator - on arrival it was 35degC; we were able to lower it to 30degC.
Nice modern and clean hotel, good staff on reception.
Room was ridiculously hot,no air con made it unbearable. When i questioned it they said it’s all down to cost for the 500 rooms..reception and bar have lovely air con…
Rooms are excellent.
Bar/Restaurant felt more like a canteen. So much so, we went elsewhere to eat.
A bright, fresh and modern hotel. The room was huge.
No air con in bedrooms. There was a fan, but the extreme heatwave meant it wasnt very effective. It didnt detract from my stay though.
The whole experience was outstanding. We have stayed in lots of hotels with access to spas, but i can honestly say we have never stayed anywhere where the staff are so friendly.
Nothing here to fault.
Lack of air conditioning in bedrooms
Connected to an excellent spa and bar restaurant. Lovely lakeside location.
The rooms - no air con, no fridge, poor view out of window. Absolutely nothing special at all.
nice room and good food in cafe/bar
no air conditioning in room. leisure club prevented me from using the pool stating it was too busy despite only 7 people in the pool when viewed through the window.
Good clean room good location for us as had a wedding in st Neots
Had requested a twin room and got a double even though on the booking this had been confirmed. Also was told that breakfast was served until 10am we arrived the second morning at 9.30 only to find out that it finished at 9 am, so didn’t get a breakfast that was paid for.
Staff very friendly. Room modern, clean and quiet.
Breakfast only available from 08:00. Dinner menu limited but food ok. Roadworks made access a bit more difficult.
The peaceful location and scenery
No air conditioning although there was a portable unit it was very loud and not that effective.
Set in lovely grounds, rooms are spacious and very clean.
Cant really say that I didn’t like anything.
The property is new and purpose built, very clean and modern with great facilities. The lake is beautiful and drinks on the terrace make for a lovely stay. The food was also good for what it is - burgers, pizzas etc. Ricky on reception was also great as due to a group booking, we couldn’t use the self check in - he was great and sorted it all.
The bedrooms were ridiculously hot and the fan in the room did nothing! Even the corridor outside the bedrooms was around 5-10 degrees cooler than the room! I understand you can’t do anything about the warm weather, but with no aircon the fans used should actually work - and more than one! On check out, outside air temp was only 20 degrees but the room was running at 26!!! The day behind when it was 25 outside the room was over 30!!!! The drinks were ridiculous prices £15 for a glass of mediocre wine and £8 a pint really is too steep. The bar staff (particularly the one young guy with the swept over fringe) were not great - paying £15 for a glass of wine should at least come with a vague smile rather than the feeling that he was doing you a favour!!! Most of the other bar/restaurant staff however were great particularly the two girls.
