The location was nice and quiet. Staff really friendly. Food was great
Bedroom
The breakfast was great!
The staff weren’t particularly friendly or helpful. The room wasn’t particularly clean, bedside table coffee ring marks on one side and dusty. No bags in waste bin No spoons on coffee station. Generally understaffed on bar many customers were complaining. When staff did come we and other guests were not acknowledged. It felt like we were an inconvenience. There was not a drinks menu and because of general staff unhelpfulness it wasn’t a pleasure to choose drinks .
Handy location close to our cycle route. Excellent value, very comfortable, quiet location, and many nice selections at the buffet breakfast
It would have been nice to have a covered or secure area to leave our bikes overnight
Lovely location great foe Althorpe Hall
No issues with visit
Location was good
Nobody answered the night phone for reception in the middle of the night with no one about, and we were locked out of the bathroom. The handle had broken. Was sorted next morning but not ideal in such a large hotel not being able to ask for help at night
All meals were very good. Staff were excellent of particular praise, Jacob, Owen, Harry, Delisso and Michelle.
Shower was missing its seal, therefore floor became wet. Toilet seat was old and yellowing underneath. Room could have been cleaner, cobwebs.
The food was exceptional. The staff were excellent, helpful and professional.
The lockers in the changing rooms were difficult to operate.
Bed was comfortable
No bin liners in room, the room very old, too noisy with too many wedding events and corporate events.
Accessible room was very good. Breakfast was also very nice.
Like most old hotels accessibility being an issue. We noticed that the hotel have tried the best to solve this. Unfortunately the walk from our room to dining hall was a little too long for my disabled wife. It did not spoil our stay .
Lovely location and very nice grounds. Main hotel building looked lovely from the outside.
Food wasn’t great, bar was insanely noisy, staff were very pleasant, but just seemed rushed due to number of people attending an event of some sort.
Very good
The kettle in the room didn't work
Was accessible to our venue. Lovely surroundings.
Very difficult to find staff. Rooms very basic.
Location and relaxed atmosphere
The coffee machine
Very overpriced for what it was. Stains on mattress, toilet wobbled when you sat on it. Drinks well over priced. Seemed a very considerable lack of staff as plates and rubbish left outside rooms for hours. We were there for a wedding and an IT convention was booked at same time so didn’t even get exclusive use of the bar area. Very very poor
Good situation. Nice grounds. Friendly staff. Quiet. Good parking facilities. Good value for money.
Room was adequate but not ‘superior’ as was booked. The hotel’s core function is conference facilities, weddings etc.
Clean and welcoming
This is our third time staying here and we love the location, service etc. This time we used the restaurant for an evening meal and it was outstanding quality with fantastic service.
The lockers in the swimming pool area are all broken. My husband managed to find a usable one for his belongings but once locked, wouldn't re-open. Reception managed to rectify within just a few minutes for which we were very grateful but they all need fixing. We were also unable to leave a tip for the waiting staff in the restaurant as we paid by card. Apparently this is a management decision.
Good location for what we wanted. Nice pool. Nice and clean.
Alot of steps, no coffee from bar after 9.30pm. The hotel recommended Amber cabs, their pricing us misleading, but they turned ok.
Excellent breakfast.
Views presented on Bookings do not represent the nature of this conference centre. Room facilities were poor
Nice and clean great facilities and beautiful location
Nothing
Great and helpful staff
Not clean and very tiered looking inside the rooms
The room was spotless, bed was super comfy too!! We had everything we needed in the room. Parking was brilliant and not far away, and to me the location of the hotel was amazing. Everything we wanted to do wasn't too far of a drive
Our shower had a leak on the seal, no staff at reception when we checked out to report this to unfortunately. Our drinks we ordered with our meal in the evening were forgotten about. I had to chase them up and was advised the order hadn't been handed in, then have to wait a fair amount of time after my partner had received their water for my coke which was disappointing. I also requested mayonnaise with my meal, and again had to wait a fair amount of time. I paid for the ultimate spa package thinking spa facilities were included, but had to pay additional for the massage. This appears to be a third party company who were brilliant and I couldn't fault Nicky in ANY way, just a shame they don't advertise when booking that massages will be an additional cost
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice.
Cobwebs in the room
The location and the grounds are nice.
This is the second time I’ve stayed here, the first time the room was tidy but this time it was dirty. The bed had stains on, the sides were dusty, the headboard had a spillage on that could have been cleaned but was left and the bathroom was clearly not cleaned properly.
The staff were generally excellent and very helpful. The pool and jacuzzi were great. The food was generally reasonable although I have never been so disappointed by a panna cotta in my entire life. It was more like angel delight, which for £8 is a bit of a cheek.
Lots of issues in our room. Pillows were stained and grubby. They key didn't work adter the first day. The phone didn't work. Toiletries were poor quality for a 4 star hotel there was no dispenser fitted in the shower and no moisturiser. . There was no water provided in the room at all and it was a long walk to fill a water bottle. Not even a glass was provided. Everything felt as though it had been cut to the bare minimum so it certainly didn't feel like a 4 star hotel.
Very good staff, room pleasant and clean, good location, lovely grounds, restaurant good.
Suppose if you wanted to be picky, if you ask for roast potatoes on the menu you shouldn’t get boiled potatoes and then get told we don’t have roast potatoes. That said, the restaurant staff were lovely and the food good
Great pool and jacuzzi, rooms were clean and comfortable.
Gym and changing rooms were absolutely disgusting. Flies all around the showers. One shower out of order with no signage and lockers all broken.
Breakfast and dinner was good.
Couldn't use the spa facilities on this occasion.
L endroit et l offre sur place
Les organisations de camp de vacance Le manque de brosse à toilette
It was good
Satisfactory
The room was comfortable and the location was pleasant - nice and quiet though it is a large hotel and was busy the weekend we stayed.
The hotel was busy and the pool was full at the times we wanted to use it so were not able to do so.
Breakfast and location excellent
No Aircon
The staff were really friendly and helpful .
The facilities were quite basic and the rooms quite tired .
It was our second or third visit always pleased with our stay
Sometimes at the bar you have to wait for staff longer than normal
The hotel is clean and well presented, this is only down to the great staff who are extremely professional and helpful. I must stress that the hotel itself is good, and satisfactory facilities.
There was unruly children running around all day and into the night. The tea and coffee point was destroyed and ransacked by whoever could reach the offerings. The noise at 4:15am was unacceptable and kept us awake, so I eventually got up and went to the gym and sauna. Whist in the gym children (unaccompanied) were banging on the gym door to gain access! I refused and used the ‘dial 0’ phone facility but it was out of action. All my finding were reported to the staff/reception and they actioned mine and other guest complaints to the children’s parents who took no notice whatsoever! Absolutely disgusting behaviour from supposed grown adults who were more than happy for their children to run riot. Overall the hotel is NOT for children, and I know they were bored. However, this behaviour is totally inappropriate for a lovely hotel as well as anywhere else, apart from a child’s playground. We checked out earlier than planned after voicing my findings to the helpful receptionist.
Stayed before on several occasions but staff very unhelpful and uncommunicative.
Poor senior management. Lack any respect for customer service/ communication. Even if the answer was sorry you are getting nothing, at least the courage to get in touch would have been appreciated.
It is in a natural area, however, there is not much walking path.
Need lift suitcases to reception and room (many stairs), although can ask staff’s help, it is still inconvenient. The room is very dark & unclean: bathroom has mold stains, telephone & heater are covered by dust, no room clean service at all during 3 nights stay. No drinking water in the room, etc.. I therefore give up using the spa for hygiene concerns.
Very nice location and EV chargers on site
I booked this hotel because it had a pool. When I got to the hotel the pool was closed. No AC
Great service. Cleanliness excellent. Breakfast very good. Staff very very helpful. On our arrival having cycled to the hotel in the pouring rain the 2 young women on reception immediately offered my wife and I towels to dry off.
Nothing
That it’s in the middle of the country away from the city with lush greenery surrounding the area
The flies
Buffet breakfast was excellent and room/bathroom clean and comfortable.
Reception man. A bit rude.
Location
Had to change rooms as somebody was trying to get in through The communicating door between my room and the next. My so-called superior room lacked most of the features I value, the snacks, complimentary drinks and biscuits were absent and there was no bathrobe.
Peacefull lovely surroundings
Arrived late and hungry but could 't get a sandwich
Friendly staff and good location.
It was more like a conference venue than hotel… this was not clear from the listing.expensive for what it delivers.
Restaurant and bar area are nice
A little overpriced. There was a large group staying when we were there and some of my party got no sleep as they had rooms close to them. A better organisation of room allocation to accommodate these scenarios would be better.
Excellent hotel. Everything was great. Nice grounds. Breakfast was awesome
Spiders in the hallways
Comfortable hotel with spa facilities and friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Given it was so hot portable A/C units required in the public areas as a minimum. The temperature uncomfortable.
The coffee is ok
The TV didnt work, the same issue with the last time i stayed 2 months prior and it was a different room. The cooked breakfast is sweaty and the bacon needs more time in the oven.
Amazing location, the grounds are picturesque!!
Hotel room doors are quiet noisy when shutting
Staff friendly & welcoming on arrival 😊
The time of breakfast would have been nicer if it finished later @ 10:am it was very busy in the restaurant, with a finish time of 9am. The Continental option was fine, however, hot option could be improved. Sausages were not great quality, pale & in inviting. Also there was not much left @ 8:30. Hotel was a bit tired in areas ☺️
We were a little late arriving for breakfast, 8.55. We were told that we would be allowed 20 minutes. We left after 15 mins. but there were still a dozen or so people left. We felt very rushed.
Needed air conditioning- very hot bedroom, so we didnt sleep very well.
Breakfast was great. Lots of choice.
Not having air con in room. Fan just blew out warm air. That was the only downside. Overall fantastic stay.
Very quiet location
The majority of people staying at the hotel were at conferences held there so we were in a minority Toiletries were supposedly provided but in fact our room only had handwash
Sedgebrook Hall is a lovely building. The bedrooms are located in a modern build which needs updating. Cleanliness could be better - stained carpet, dirty underside of toilet seat, dirty kettle.
Friendly staff, convenient location.
Beautiful surroundings, peaceful. Good breakfast, lots of variety.
Gym facilities were not great, dirty and half the machines were broken.
Staff were extremely helpful professional
Nice venue but quite tired and in need of paint and an upgrade
Wedding venue facilities were good. Location great for the purpose. Food was excellent
Main house aesthetic but not the whole picture, accommodation in different section. - dated Was not equipped for hot weather in the slightest in bar area or bedrooms. No air conditioning and the fan provided was rubbish.
The hall is in a bad state of repair with mould etc, booked for a spa weekend only to find kids were allowed in the pool
Location, estate, rooms
No Aircon, they had provided a very poor fan . No hot water in the shower. The person taking orders at the bar was disinterested to the point of coming across as being rude
Really nice surroundings in a really nice area
Our room could have done with a good dust, it was very grimy and I saw 5 spiders in 1 day, I'm so scared of spiders. We left our room and house keeping cleaned it but all they did was spread the bed, I understand being eco friendly with not changing the sheets however there was a dirrty cup on the side was just left there and they didn't replenish the teas that we had drank The steam, swim and sauna was unavailable and nobody explained it to us, there was just a very vague sign and when we asked the lady on reception she didn't know anything. This is very upsetting as I specifically booked this hotel for myself and my mother because of the spa specialities.
Bar facilities and staff
Distance from car park to reception then reception to the room. Shower could of done with a better clean
Location and late pool opening hours
Pool was closed, no compensation, did not even give money back for breakfast as goodwill, limited drinks at the bar, staff would not tidy up outside areas for hours and some mugs and cups stayed on the table overnight from 3pm of the previous day including rubbish
Friendly staff, good service, spotless room, very comfortable bed, felt very secure as a single female.
My only fault would be the coconut shower products, that said I should of taken myt own...lol
Location and the grounds are good for taking the dog. Food and facilities generally good. Staff helpful and professional.
The breakfast on the second morning was a little undercooked.
Lovely location and grounds. Lots of choice at breakfast.
Lack of attention to detail. Only 3 hangers in the wardrobe, until we asked for more. Outside glass topped tables were never wiped over.
My room was dirty - hair ball’s on the carpet and the tea tray had remnants of tea and coffee spillage from a previous guest.
It was dirty
Loved the setting and outdoor areas .
We booked with plan to use swimming pool but was closed .very disappointed 😞 bathroom needs attention around bath area .silicone very dirty and mouldy . Food was great in bar .we ate dinner on arrival .staff very professional and courteous.
Lovely surroundings and staff.
Swimming pool and jacuzzi shut. Was one of the reasons I booked it.
We were really disappointed to be honest
My husband chose this venue for my daughter and I for the swimming pool, we weren't given any prior notice and turned up to find the pool was closed. I'm disabled and swimming is one of the only things I can still manage . I asked the reason why and was told it can't be disclosed, I then had to spend a load of money to find something else to do. I have messaged them to complain and not even had a response
disappointed that swimming pool was closed
Noisy boiler outside room
very clean hotel comfy bed shame the pool was closed also found plastic part in tartar sauce in my main meal
The property is actually a long block of motel units attached to a 19th century "Hall". It would be more accurately described as Motel Sedgebrook, rather than the inaccurate and misleading Sedgebrook Hall. The breakfast was best described as "dreadful". Poorly cooked sausages, over-cooked eggs, flaccid and old porridge oats, no fruit, yoghurt bowl was empty and disinterested staff didn't bother to refill. What less could I say. The room, however was clean and recently decorated.
The grounds are great and it was central to the locations we were visiting
Our room was full of cobwebs and spiders. A staff member had to come and vacuum the room and clear the cobwebs. We caught about 6 spiders in the room and through the night another 5 in the bathroom
Location Grounds
Very basic
The hotel in general was just very nice and comfortable. It is located in an area that has terrific scenery but also the overall experience including the staff was very good. I would definitely stay here again.
The breakfast situation wasn't great but that could have been down to the number of guests they had at the time.
Location
Shabby bit not chic.
Lovely venue. Comfortable room with deep bath and shower. Fluffy white towels much appreciated. Delicious meal eaten outside under shaded canopy. Good breakfast. Didn't try the spa facilities as it was 33 degrees in July.
No lift - 17 steps to get up to a first floor room with luggage. Can't be helped but was woken by a dawn chorus of very noisy pigeons nesting in the nearby trees.
Lovely grounds and pool area. Clean throughout
Ordered room service and the fee only to be told that I needed to come to the bar as the card machine didn’t work.
Good, friendly hotel in pleasant surroundings. Felt like it was value for money as excellent breakfast and good, comfortable bar area.
A little better signage
Close to a course I was attending
No hot water the first evening and next morning and reception staff pretended they didn’t know and I wasn’t told or apologised to when I checked in. Extremely loud fire door closures that almost rock you out of bed. Beds badly made with sheets not even covering bare mattress. Dirty mugs left after room serviced. Very small, hot pool, full when I was seeking a refreshing swim.
Location
Dirty and run down.
Good choice of food. No waiting. Staff friendly.
Lockers in ladies' changing rooms not working. Spinner would be useful. Water dispenser would be good.
Style
No fridge in room
clean, nice outdoor seating at property. nice hot drinks machine.
breakfast quality could have been better, ran out of a lot of food by 9am on weekend. And breakfast finished at 9am on weekdays. Drinks quite expensive - £4.50 for a glass of coke. checked in 11pm waiting a long time at reception for someone to answer the phone.
Le calme
I liked the location The staff were very friendly I paid £3 for a coffee and it was disgusting
No support with luggage on arrival There was a wedding, fair enough they have to look after them however, as a paying customer I would expect the same curtesy of attention
Location, room and restaurant. Breakfast was good.
The pool could do with an update.
Good food, nice location
It was way to hot in the room with 2 fans only and no storage shelving or draws
Main house pictured looks stunning it’s a lot bigger with travel lodge style rooms
Breakfast was 7-10 got there at 8:45 and nothing left, no fruit no yogurt bacon and sausages were almost gone, only 1 toaster to serve the entire breakfast hall.
Hidden gem
Lovely and clean
Nothing it was a lovely stay
The breakfast was Ok, enjoyed the tea cake
The issue we had was one of the staff insisting that we use Hand soap for body wash and we had to see another manager before body soap was provided and as well we wanted the room cleaned it wasn't cleaned properly and bedsheets were not changed , the environment was Ok but the housekeeping team needs to be trained
Staff and location very good breakfast too
Pricey bar 🍸 drinks
Ace
Got married and barely any complaints.. Some tables said they did my get the full buffet offering by the end but other than that no issues.
Location
Outside areas not cleaned. Cigarette butts everywhere & outside tables not cleared.
The building, staff service, breakfast and price. Location to Althorp Hall and the Spencer Arms. Great tea and coffee ☕️ with snacks .. lovely little gym !
Nothing really. Everyone accommodating and good vibe.
Great place for a stopver .Use of pool and leisure facilities was a bonus
The testurant was average
Lovely hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful and communication with the hotel before the stay was also great, it has a lovely bar, the rooms are stylish and the breakfast was brilliant! The hotel is really stylish and clean too.
The pool and jacuzzi were both cold and although it was summer I didnt t want to get in to a freezing cold jacuzzi, pillows were not great bit flat for a hotel. The gardener started with a noisy leaf blower at 8am it was so loud you could even hear it all through the breakfast room, not nice for the people whos rooms he was right outside when we came out, I wanted a nice walk around the ground after breakfast but we just left because of the noise.
