Nice hotel in a good location.
The rooms are fairly small. No complimentary items - not even water. The hotel is only five floors, so no views to be had unless you visit the rooftop patio.
It was charming and beautiful! Incredible staff and just a wonderful experience . Rooms were beautiful and comfortable
Die Lage ist sehr gut für Charlottetown. Das Bett super gross und bequem. Leider sind die Zimmer in die Jahre gekommen und Renovierung bedürftig.
Die Zimmer sind in die Jahre gekommen.
Location is amazing
The air conditioning in room was not working properly and we didn't sleep well. I even talked to front desk when we arrived and I guess there was nothing to do. Way too expensive for this, and carpet in the room
Non inclus dans la nuitée.
Tout était bien l'emplacement est parfait.
歴史ある建物だったが全体的に明るい雰囲気で気持ちよく過ごせた。幸運にも日本人スタッフに対応して頂けた。
個人的にシャワーは可動式が良い
Location is excellent. Staff very accommodating. Well maintained.
We expected an "Executive Double Room with 2 Double Beds" which was the description on Booking.com. The room was so small that you could not move. The chair hit the desk and the end of the bed. No way was it "Executive". The bath room did not have any grab bars for safety. We are seniors and need that safety feature in a bath tub. We left after one night. Otherwise, the hotel was lovely. We would recommend it. The room would have been fine with only a single bed and a fit younger person. The staff was very lovely and assisted us in our early departure.
Fantastic pool area. The water was very warm, but also super clean. The pool is large and the area is very well kept, and clearly designed for guest comfort and ease of use with clean bathrooms connected, dedicated changing areas, fluffy towels, and a nice sauna directly adjacent to the pool. I visited with my young child who was thrilled, and we used the pool a lot. Past reviews of the pool were the reason I selected this hotel and it did not disappoint. I will also say that the hours of the pool are very good, open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. - that gave us plenty of time in our brief overnight stay to enjoy the pool both at night and before checkout. The restaurant on site is also very good! The rooms were super clean in a deep clean way, as was everywhere in the hotel. Overall, the next time we are in PEI we will be sure to stay here again! My only criticism is that parking was really difficult. There is a small lot behind the hotel that says it's reserved for guests but it did not appear to be actually used that way, at least for what I observed of people coming and going from this lot. Given that the room was $500 a night - probably the most I've ever paid for a hotel - there should be guaranteed parking, and if no on-site parking, clear guidance from the front desk of where would be good for street parking. I ended up driving around for 30 minutes with my 6-year-old looking for parking at 830 at night. This may not be the normal situation, it sounds like there was also a wedding going on. That being said, overnight and guests should be given priority at a hotel parking area. I don't agree with other reviews I had read prior to booking saying that the hotel is dated. It has a historic charm to it, as you would hope in a great downtown location. Everything appeared to be in working order!
The Personnel
The Bathroom was a joke. The toilet is pressed against the wall on it's side. The shower should have security Bars, the population is getting older you know.
Beautiful Hotel with amazing location, service, food and beverage. Special features include front patio for dining, and an outdoor balcony on the 5th floor for enjoying beautiful downtown views.
Quiet and clean rooms with nice beds and friendly service. Located right down town the hotel is within walking distance of all the main shops and boardwalk. If the price is right for you, I would recommend the Rodd.
Close to everything
Nothing
The location, however there was construction in front of the hotel for our entire stay. Did not sit outside on the balcony due to this fact.
Expensive for the quality of the hotel. Has seen better days

Rien
Smacznego jedzenie w hotelowej restauracji. Dostępność basenu i siłowni. Bliskość do głównej ulicy miasta - punkty usługowe, sklepy, restauracje.
Malutki pokoj i łazienka. Ręczniki nie do końca czyste. Hotel wymaga renowacji (łazienki i pokoje). Śniadania dodatkowo płatne. Wysoka cena.
The room was nice and the restaurant service was amazing. Nice pool to keep the kids busy.
Nothing.
Location was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean.
Food was pretty good but not great. Bed was small. Need a true Queen.
I love staying at the Rodd’s for its location close to Confederation of the Arts, restaurants and just a short walk to the waterfront. It has a Victorian charm and they have renovated it throughout the years. Very clean and has a great restaurant, you can sit on the outdoor balcony and listen to local artist on selected days in the summer while enjoying a drink from the bar. They also have a rooftop patio which has a great view of Charlottetown.
Good food. Great location. Charming atmosphere.
I realize the building is old, but I’ve never seen a toilet so close to a wall before. We had to sit down almost sideways to go (and we are not big people).
Excellent location
Noise, construction outside, staff unhappy
It was not a pleasant visit. While taking a shower, I slipped in the bathtub because the surface was extremely slippery. Unfortunately, there was no visible sign or instruction in the room or the bathroom advising guests to use the anti-slip bath mat before entering the tub. I did not notice the mat until after the accident. As a result of the fall, I struck my head and injuries to my chin, forehead, right elbow, right ribs, left arm, both knees, and my feet. This was a very painful and frightening experience that I believe could have been prevented with proper safety instructions or a clearly visible warning. No one from the hotel followed up with me to see if I was okay after I made the complaint
Great location. It’s just a 15 minute walk to the waterfront. Housekeeping staff was also kind enough to get me extra band aids because I fell at Confederation Park. Thank you!
Our first visit to Prince Edward Island and the beautiful city of Charlottetown was an unforgettable experience. While the island's unique attractions, rich history, and refined cultural atmosphere captivated us, what truly made our journey exceptional was our stay at Rodd Charlottetown. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enchanted by the hotel's elegant heritage architecture, which beautifully reflects the character and history of Charlottetown. One detail that particularly touched us was the warm, golden lighting throughout our room. It reminded us of the welcoming light in our family home back in Persia—a refreshing contrast to the cold, dim lighting often found in many modern luxury hotels across North America. It created an atmosphere of warmth, comfort, and genuine hospitality. The housekeeping staff also deserve sincere recognition. Their dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail ensured that every day of our stay was comfortable and pleasant. Their hard work often goes unnoticed, yet it is an essential part of what makes a great hotel truly great. However, the highest praise belongs to one extraordinary person: Farah, at the front desk. Farah is the kind of hospitality professional every hotel hopes to have. She welcomed us each day with a sincere smile, remarkable kindness, and a genuine desire to help. She went far beyond her responsibilities by preparing and printing detailed information about Charlottetown's attractions, recommending outstanding local restaurants, and offering thoughtful suggestions that transformed our visit into an unforgettable experience. She treated us not simply as hotel guests, but as valued friends visiting her city. People like Farah are the true ambassadors of Canadian hospitality. Her professionalism, warmth, generosity, and passion for helping others left a lasting impression on us. Without hesitation, we can say that Farah was one of the main reasons our first trip to Prince Edward Island became so memorable. When we return to Charlottetown—and we certainly will—there is no question where we will stay. It will be Rodd Charlottetown once again. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an authentic, welcoming, and memorable stay in Charlottetown. If you have the opportunity to meet Farah, consider yourself fortunate. She is truly one of a kind. Thank you, Farah, and thank you, Rodd Charlottetown, for making our first visit to Prince Edward Island an experience we will always cherish. La maîtrise et la sympathie du personnel. Aussi, la chambre était vraiment confortable. Parfaite pour rester deux nuits.
Dommage à notre époque de ne pouvoir se connecter à une application de streaming sur la télévision. À part cela, rien à noter.
Loved the location and the outside verandah with comfy couches and chairs and a chance to enjoy breakfast outside in the dining area of the verandah. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beds very comfortable.
Bathrooms modern and clean but compact - just a little too compact.
L’emplacement
Location is great, the room itself was also good. Hotel seemed clean. A lot of the staff were super nice - specifically the women who was on the night shift on the 7th. She had shorter hair in a braided style and was very very helpful. But overall the staff was nice.
Sauna wasn’t working the entire stay and I felt like the staff didn’t really communicate. When we asked at the desk they didn’t even know it was out of order. At one point we had our room cleaned and when we came back the space smelled badly of body odor (not trying to be rude) which was a little overwhelming. We called the desk and asked for room spray or something to help, she said someone was coming but never did. At 8:40 another morning house cleaning showed up to clear our room. Again just jarringly early to start.
Great location! The free parking was nice and the outside sitting area was also nice and comfortable.
The room we stayed in was small and dated however it was reflected in the price. The celing light was very dim so it's a good thing there was a window. The bathroom although small was nice. Lots of towels.
I spent three nights at this hotel during the CVMA convention. The property is a beautifully renovated historic building, and everything—from the atmosphere and location to the service—was top-notch.
Great location. Ample parking. Clean and updated room. Bathroom on the small side - but to be expected from older hotels.
Placed us on a lower floor - booking.com confirmation said we were to be on upper floor. They couldn't accommodate us at check-in. Noisy patrons (wedding?) outside front of building woke us up around 2 AM.
Hotel was quite clean and tidy. Room was remodeled and stunningly clean. Bed was comfy and pillows were dreamy. Staff was friendly and kind. Only thing is the parking lot requires a lot of attention.
The staff was excellent. Very helpful in all areas, including lending us umbrellas when the weather took a turn. I would absolutely stay again.
Minor, but our toilet had a slight leak, so we used white noise to drown it out. We didn't tell the staff, as it was minor.
L.élégance du charme ancien.
Tout était parfait.
A great downtown location next to a lovely park.
Parking can be an issue if you don't know about the parking around the back entrance of Fitzroy. For years I didn't know that that parking lot existed.
I liked the historic building and the ambience.
Room a bit smaller .
Staff was extremely wonderful.
Out-dated: no fan in bathrooms, heating system extremely loud, no microwave. These are services that are included in most cheaper places. It is beautiful, in a great area but needs some TLC.
Great atmosphere, amazing views and a great community experience. The history, the architecture, everything about this experience was great.
Great location

Old Fashioned and Elegant vibe!!
No complementary coffee bar.
It was lovely!!
Parking gratuit accolé à l'hôtel, hôtel très bien situé.
Stayed in a newly renovated room. It was amazing. Great location (downtown Charlottetown,) walking distance to everything.
Wonderful stay, hotel was clean and beautiful. I loved the decor feel of elegance meets Victorian era ... It had so many spots to enjoy a good book. The restaurant and bar was great, good food and great service. The patio was very nice outdoors!
Staff were friendly, very nice antique hotel with lots of character. The beds were comfortable but the hot water system was overwhelmed and there was not enough hot water to have a warm shower every time we tried to use the shower.

Mooi hotel, met authentieke uitstraling. De plek is ook in het centrum en zo zijn voorzieningen makkelijk te belopen!
I travel to PEI several times a year. After trying a few other places to stay, I found the Rodd Charlettown. Clean, comfy, QUIET, pet-friendly, and a great location.
Clean, friendly staff
There was a hockey tournament and the kids were in the hall playing mini sticks so as much as we wanted to sleep in it was hard to do so with hockey and kids in the hallway.
Location
Don’t book for group bookings. We stayed with our hockey team and had an unpleasant experience. Rooms are extremely small. Pool is dated. Restaurant staff was extremely rude. Parking was an issue (small lot). The hired security for the weekend treated the parents like criminals (wore black gloves, stared us down in the hallway, checked on us every 10 minutes via the elevator, spoke rudely to us, patrolled like he was expecting a riot). The entire floor was full with hockey parents and we were not creating a disturbance and were contained to that level. We were very uncomfortable. Management promised us a communal room for gathering with our team - they tried to take it back and told us it was no longer available. (It was just full with another team). Offered the smaller room to us which was undersized for the amount of teams that booked at the hotel. We had a small corner of the room and we were not able to carry out our team building/celebrate a birthday as planned. Overall, we would not book this hotel again simply because of the lack of customer service and intimidating security.
Family of four, stayed for 4 days. Staff were great, the hotel was comfortable and was well located in downtown. We were able to walk to everything we needed.
Very good and had a great time the staff were phenomenal. Stall were very nice to us and very sweet. The restaurant very nice..
Overall, not a positive experience. The room was clean and adequate, the bed was comfortable. The room temperature was on the chilly side, even after adjusting the thermostat. I could hear every word being spoken by the guests in the room next to ours. The water temperature never got above barely warm and the water pressure and volume in the shower was non-existent; it was no more than a dribble. I did not feel that the price of the room matched the experience.
Location to downtown and restaurants
NA
The hotel is very clean and beautiful. However, I did have a few negative experiences during this stay. As a frequent rodd hotel guest I knew that kids ate free and when I asked the waitress about it, she was very snappy and mean about it. She said I should have got a braclet when I checked in. She made me feel bad for even asking about it and like it was my fault they forgot to give it to me. Also, when booking it was advertised that their was a hot tub and it was in fact the only reason I picked this hotel for our staycation, when in fact their was no hot tub. During our supper our son ordered nachos, expecting chips & cheese so just imagine the look of disappointment when the waffle fries covered in cheese came out. (It was not in the menu that they were this kind of nachos!) Also, the menus at the resturant were all very dirty and need a deep clean! The front desk staff were very friendly and helped me out.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast food was delicious.
The hotel was exceptionally busy with a couple of parties and music but everything was very well controlled and secure.
Stayed at this property on a busy weekend. Was give a nice corner quiet room by Farah. This is an old hotel and it is well restored. Also a great breakfast. Would return for sure.
Très bon emplacement, très bel hôtel. Le lit de bebe était deja installé à notre arrivée, très apprécié ! Merci
clean comfortable rooms
extremely bad water pressure in the shower and shower water was just above luke warm
Super nice New Year's Eve! My husband and I booked a few nights here over the holidays and decided to spend New Years Eve here and also got my Mum a room too. Everything was perfect (Thanks Andrew!) we had dinners and breakfasts in Chambers Dining Room (fabulous food and all the people working here lovely. We had the NYE menu which has lots of choice, good portions and the dessert cart had something for everyone! Had 2 great swims in their wonderful pool and overall a top notch experience from start to finish.
Love the historic charm of the building, centrally located, welcoming and helpful staff, and excellent value!
Really good welcome experience from front desk when I arrive on Tuesday March 17th at 5pm! Smooth checkin and was very responsive and friendly.
Bathroom could have a hook/rail for hand towel.
The hotel was beautiful and clean. It’s in a great downtown location close to everything. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We definitely recommend The Rodd Charlottetown.
The rooms were very nice and the pool was wonderful
The location of the hotel for parking reasons and accessibility
Hotel itself was clean, friendly and great. The restaurant for breakfast took 1.5 hours and with 3 kids, it was not a good experience or worth the wait. No one apologized for the wait and didn't let us know there would even be a wait.
The room and service was great, I forgot an item there and got a call back right away. Great spot. The pool temperature is AMAZING.
Great location, nice pool, pretty decent restaurant
Room was very small and cramped, very little room for stuff, the washroom was tiny as well. On some days the heating could not keep up and it was kind of cold.
I love staying at the Rodd Charlottetown as the property is beautiful and so are the rooms. The staff really go out of their way to make me feel b=valued and important.
Location
Beds were super small. No AC unit to help regulate temp. Extremely hot in the room
We loved this historic hotel on the heart of Charlottetown. It was incredibly walkable to the various sights and experiences in this gorgeous city. We enjoyed the dining room experience and the service from the hotel team.
Always love staying here for location, pool, staff and charm.
Restaurant was closed for Reno’s. one of the reasons we booked the stay here was for their delicious breakfast. Wish we had have known to change the dates!
Renovated hotel that kept its charm.

The location is fantastic. Centrally located and close to attractions.
Well placed, everything downtown os within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and sauna were great.
Carpet inside the room was a little dated and water took a long time to get hot.
Très bel endroit très propre et personnel très accueillant

I visited Rodd Charlottetown during December for a business trip. The hotel was beautifully decorated. The staff was welcoming and made sure my stay was comfortable. I am looking forward to visiting one day. I highly recommend Rodd Charlottetown. It is conveniently located and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants.
