Beautiful building and great location. Good layout and modern bathroom.
No elevator; shame the dinning room and kitchen weren’t open.
Location was fantastic. Walking distance to downtown area.
My husband left his therapeutic pillow there. We realized it and called within two hours of leaving. When we called, the staff told us it had not been found. It took four phone calls and our insistence that they checked the room again for them to finally find it. The housekeeping person had found it and assumed it was just an extra pillow in the room and stuffed it in the closet. They did not tell anybody that they had found an extra pillow, even though it had a homemade pillowcase on it. This caused a lot of angst for us as he really needs that pillow for therapeutic reasons. The bathroom was quite small and there was little space to put anything as it only has a pedestal sink. The climb up three stories was also a negative as there is no elevator.
Very Quiate Beautyful
Cleaning ladie try too open the door at 8,00 will we wher still in are bed
Excellent location, convenient to park an electric car since there are charging stations just behind the hotel
Narrow stairs, we can easily hear the people walking on the outside gallery
Emplacement bien…..mais pas de déjeuner……
Déjeuner continental le matin serait bien surtout que le prix de la chambre était élevé
We had an absolutely lovely suite . Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Staff were also very helpful. Location is great- very central and easy to walk to downtown.
We booked an Executive Room at the Dundee Arms, which is in the main building, as we had to book last minute for a family funeral. After checking in by an efficient and friendly staff person, we were shown to the room, and discovered very quickly that it was extreemly hot (27 C) and there was no evidence of a/c. After a discussion with the front desk staff person, we were informed that the intention had been to put the air conditioning unit in the window the previous weekend, but it had not been done. We were able to switch our room, definitely not an executive space, but it was clean, a comfortable bed, and lots of cupboard space - and a noisy, but working a/c unit. We were also compensated for the difference in the room price, although told that we would have to move to a different room in the morning. As it turned out, somehow when we went to get the key for the new room, we were able to stay in the room, but because we hadn't been notified, we'd packed everything up in anticipation of a move. We did appreciate the coffee available in the main building in the morning (there is in-room coffee, but it is truly awful), and knew beforehand that there was no breakfast service beyond that, but there are options in the immediate area. The staff were helpful - but next time, put in a/c units before the heat waves begin (they are starting earlier in the maritimes).
Location and price/value!
Room was clean and beds were so comfortable. Staff was friendly.
The location is perfect. Walking distance to everything. Parking looks terrible for historic Charlottetown in general. However the Dundee Arms has 5 parking places out front and apparently several in the back. You can leave your car there and just walk. The hotel is quaint. Our room was in the Annex because we had the Luxury Suite. It was very spacious and had a pull out sofa and a very comfortable bed in a separate bedroom. Some comments said the rooms were dated but I loved that they were. Beautiful dark wood furniture. It suits the hotel. There were a few negatives. You can get coffee in the morning, but there is a lovely dining area and I wish they would bring back the breakfast. I would be more inclined to stay here again if breakfast was offered. There were 2 air conditioners in the suite. They were much too noisy. I guess the positive would be you won't hear any outside noises. The bedroom windows face the road. There are great thick curtains to block light from the windows, but there is a half circle windows above the drapes. Since it is only covered by sheets, light pours in in the morning. I'd suggest covering this windows. There is plenty of other windows light to brighten the room. Our internet stopped working in the early evening and was still out in the morning. We were only there one night so it wasn't too much of an issue. There is no elevator to the 3rd floor of the Annex. We had carry on luggage so they were manageable. Still quite the climb. Large suitcases would not have been fun. The bathroom was clean and large with lots of toiletries provided. I would return for price and location.
It is a beautiful restored home. The outside sitting and dining areas were nice.
The 2 rooms were on different floors. I slept on a pull out couch. I was the prized at this. Apparently booking.com didn’t notify me of this or I didn’t read all the information. I slept, but it wasn’t all that comfortable.
I liked the proximity to sites. I also liked the historic feel of the main building. The cleaning staff was very helpful when we lost our car key temporarily.
We were traveling with young kids and there were NO kids TV channels. The coffee and tea offered could have been improved. The staff didn’t seem welcoming. There was a sock and rag left behind from a previous family that did not get picked up, in a very obvious spot.
L'emplacement
Tapis (allergène) Établissement qui manque de vitalité
Nice location near restaurants in the historical area of Charlottetown. Easy, quick drive to the harbour front. Comfortable , clean rooms. Bar wasn’t open so can’t comment on food or beverage service. Onsite parking.
Lovely neighborhood and a beautiful property. The staff were very friendly.
There was really nothing that I didn’t like about the property
Location quirky
No interaction with staff room dark and smell in it light breakfast would be a nice option
Perfect location
Location
The location is great! Very walkable.
I had a lot of bites all over me as soon as I got in bed. There is no one working at the front desk any day after 11:00 pm. I called the number and left a message. After contacting 811 to speak with a nurse, I had to sleep on the bed covers, using a bathrobe to cover me. My travel buddy did not have a problem with her bed. The manager said she would send me a report after she looked around the room. No refund or reduced rate.
Location
The room was very dark and there were signs that said we couldn’t eat on the porch without buying drinks from the place . If we paid for the hotel why would we have to buy drinks from there? I can see no alcohol but we couldn’t have cold drinks with our food??? It wasn’t conducive to people relaxing and enjoying themselves. Also one night we got locked out of your room- the battery wasn’t working?! -This was a first for me. Lastly we were placed under a family with a least 3 little kids who screamed and jumped on the beds- understandable with little Kids but couldn’t we have been put on the level above?!?
Not a ni r pub. My food was stone cold to start off with took ages to come and toilet s was unclean.i Atmosphere was boating
Location Cleanness
To noisy. Every time the doors of other s have been opened or closed, we felt some someone broke in our room! Also, the cable tv subscription was limited, and no kids' channels were available.
Fantastic location for exploring downtown Charlottetown. Historic , well maintained building with rooms decorated in keeping with the original fashion. Extremely clean and comfortable
Very charming and comfortable. Close to everything.
We were a little early in the season so the dining wasn't open but they showed us options that were close by. Very accommodating.
A great location and cozy venue. Exceptionally clean. The staff were also lovely!
Location was great
We liked it all
The room we were given was very dirty and we got a refund. It was one of those rooms you know as soon as you step in that if you do stay, it will not be pleasant. There were stains all over the duvets, sheets, blinds, carpet. Hairs in the bathroom. One small window so it’s very dark and dingy feeling. When you book, be aware that you may be staying in the annex and not the main inn. Fortunately the hotel was agreeable to refunding us and we did not need to stay there.
Cleanliness
Very comfortable bed:)
All good
The staff were friendly and courteous. The room was very clean, the bathroom large, and the beds very comfortable. The location was superb with a fantastic restaurant directly beside. Parking was very convenient and accessible.
If you don't like climbing stairs, book at ground level. The one window in our room faced the walkway where everyone walked by, so we could never open our curtains. Next time, we would request a room facing a different direction. Our room also had a joining door to another room, so we could hear their TV and sports watching enthusiasm, so that's something else we would avoid next time.
We loved everything about the facility, my only dispointment was finding long black hair in the bathtub and on the floor. We both have short hair.
The long black hair found in the bathroom.
We stayed in the original mansion turned hotel. It is beautifully preserved and decorated with Victorian furniture. Our room had a sitting room, bedroom and full bath. There is an addition to the mansion built in the 1960s and I was told by the hostess, it is decorated in a more modern style. Very centrally located near to the restaurant’s and shops. We liked the free parking in the hotel lot.
I prefer a stand up shower, rather than the tub and hand held shower wand. But that’s a miner inconvenience when compared to the rest of the suite.
Great location near main streets, restaurants, cinema etc Comfortable room. Free parking.
Our room was in the Annex and was lovely. A suite with a living room area, which we weren't expecting. The location was convenient to Charlottetown, an easy walk to the restaurants and shopping area. Nice coffee in the morning on the deck enjoying the sunshine!
Pleasant reception, well maintained to the historic character of the building.
Lovely old inn. Room was quiet. Easy walking to downtown, restaurants. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The only negative was the wine. Limited beverage menu.
Very quaint, clean, comfortable inn with carpeted floors with very friendly and accommodating staff. The suite had a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, separate shower stall, and double vanity. We appreciated the mini-fridge with a freezer component and a microwave in the room. The parking on premise was a bonus, as is the ability to walk to the harbor and downtown area within 8-10 minutes. There is no restaurant service but a small bar area that serves beer and wine.
Beautiful place to stay. Very nice room. Very nice welcome when we arrived. Would definitely stay there again!
The location was very good. Close to shopping and restaurants.
No elevators and therefore no trollies to transport luggage from parking lot to rooms
Friendly staff, very walkable
Excellent service, location and place to stay, very friendly staff and super clean! I stayed there with my family and it was great. Highly recommend!
A great location to do a walking tour of Charlottetown, close to everything and super nice staff.
loved dundee arms
Super friendly and helpful
The sleeper sofa was set up for a 3rd person, which is how we reserved the room. but it was a very substandard bed and we could not sleep on it. Thankfully, a staff member located a rollaway bed in its place--which of course took up room in the unit.
Older building. Well maintained. Very friendly staff. 4th floor annex room too many stairs especially carrying luggage
Very quiet and lovely area. Walking area from all the Charlottetown must sees
Very nicely kept historic house. Rooms had charm and modern amenities. Friendly staff.
The Inn was close to downtown Charlottetown. Walkable to all the shops and restaurants.
Great location that was close to downtown Charlottetown and close to walking trail around Victoria Park. Great sitting area in front of the Inn where we could purchase a drink. (Able to bring food to eat on the deck as long as you bought a drink from the Inn).
It’s a heritage building that has been maintained very well. Room was clean and comfortable.
Good location
Wonderful friendly staff.
Location walking distance to everything in the old part of town
We really enjoyed our stay. Convenient location, clean, well equipped rooms (fridge and microwave), and friendly staff. The website can be misleading and leave you thinking there is a restaurant there still - there is not.
Loved the historical setting. Proximity to Queen street was nice.
It is a beautiful place, the staff were very helpful. The location was excellent for what we were doing.
Just be aware there are no elevators, of course because of the old building.
Scenic and close to things
No restaurant Had to carry suitcases up 2 flights of stairs
This is a lovely property. It has hotel services such as laundry and dry cleaning, room touch up that one doesn’t often find these days. The room in the annex was comfortable and update. I would recommend this spot in a heart beat.
We stayed in the annex suite. The room had a king sleigh bed. The bedroom and living room were separated with doors that closed. There was a jacuzzi tub that my wife truly enjoyed.
Liked everything about it.
Very helpfull staff, beautifull indore and outdoor, great location, We recomnand
It was a three dressed up as a 9
No breakfast, but coffee served each morning. Excellent location within minutes of many attractions. Elegant and comfortable room with very good bed.
This is an old inn. Folks with any mobility issues would not appreciate the staircases that we carried our luggage up and down.
Friendly staff
Room 33 was not wheelchair accessible for the bathroom. The hallway and door frame were too narrow for the small wheelchair to turn . The hotel was no longer serving breakfast . It was not value for money .
The room was too dark, even though we turned on all the lights. Otherwise, we were very enjoying staying there. The stuffs were all very helpful. Thank you all.
Great location.
AC unit in room was very loud. Cut in and out all night.
What a beautiful hidden gem! We loved the balance between maintaining the period feel and ensuring modern amenities were added. Staff was very warm and friendly, the room was beautiful and very clean. Will be back for sure!
Extremely clean, well maintained and quiet room in the inn. Would have been convenient to be able to have breakfast on site. Staff very polite and professional.
Good value
Location was perfect. Free parking. Room was clean with good amenities.
No breakfast. Checkout (10am) was early for leisure travel. No safety/ bolt lock on room door.
Good location. But in dire need of upgrading. Such as old comforters on beds. They need to get with providing duvets covered in washable sheets.
The staff were great and friendly. Room was Clean and comfortable. I love the quaint hotel. Walking to downtown and water. We will stay there next time !
Fantastic location Friendly/ knowledgeable staff Enjoyed the complimentary coffee/ tea/ hot chocolate
Price a big high
A lovely place with easy access to restaurants and shops as well as the Confederation Centre for Performing Arts. Felt comfortable as a solo traveler.
Beautiful historic property. Big bathroom. Comfy beds. Lovely staff. Excellent location - close to everything.
Great place
By far our favourite place in PEI!! Such an amazing old building, but so well maintained. Within walking distance to restaurants and shops. We stayed in the main building (inn) and it was a large room, with the most comfortable beds.
Beautiful old classic look. The housecoats were a great touch. Very friendly staff that were so welcoming. It was a real experience.
Staff very friendly and room was clean !!
