Clanard Court Hotel

The atrium and largish rooms. Restaurant on site. Near to the wonderful Shackleton museum.

No air conditioning or fan. Fair distance from town (although we had a car we preferred to walk as no knowledge of town parking). Could not get any of the EV chargers to work on site and only had credit cards.

Silencioso, tranquilo. Es un balneario, las habitaciones amplias, y cómodas. No desayunamos asi que no se. Y plaza para aparcar el vehiculo sin problema.

La verdad es que no hubo nada reseñable, por decir algo las almohadas a mi no me gustaron pero eso es a gustos.

Fabulous venue for the wedding we attended. Food and service were excellent. Only stayed one night and would have loved more.

I found the price was very high for September. Otherwise all was perfect.

Spacious well equipped room with table and chairs. Large comfortable bed. Very quiet, no corridor noise. Front entrance lobby has a great ambience, with generous settees. Parking also excellent. Great selection of food for breakfast. Good options of meals for dining in the evening.

Meals were great but breakfast not so good with certain things like avocado on toast or porridge. A bit reheated.

From the minute we came into check in excellent service. Spa was so relaxing Beautiful place already looking into booking to come back.

Stayed here a few times and its an Excellent hotel. About an hour from Waterford or Dublin. The food, rooms are perfect, the staff are just amazing. Can't fault it. There was a wedding on so breakfast time would be busy, can never understand why hotels charge for room service as its the whole point of getting away, it was only €3 per person, never seen that before as its usually €10-15. It was delivered bang on time and delicious. Will continue to stay here, good value as well. It's about 15 mins walk to the town.

Absolutely fabulous staff, great service from start to finish. The restaurant staff at dinner and breakfast were so kind and professional even with the fussy eaters on our table of nine. The restaurant was packed but everything came together and all the plates were cleared. The room was spotless and had everything you need for a relaxing short stay.

Hotel was very clean . Met several staff and everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful and easy to talk to. Had the garden suite it was amazing every little detail was thought of and there. Had an extremely noisy night till 1 with next door but mentioned it the next morning checking out and it was handled very well. I do believe if I’d have rang at the time it would have been handled by staff at the time. a wonderful team. Extremely good food aswell be prepared come hungry to fully enjoy. Have stayed in fitzwilliams in Belfast a few times and this is on the same experience level actually between staff and food I’d choose here over it and in fact will be returning again in October for two nights . I booked 3 rooms and everone enjoyed their stay and is returning including my 3 teenage boys . Only issue I had was I tried booking online it had 15% off but it wouldn’t go through i tried a few times on a few phones and ended up having to book directly and paid €30+ on each room extra I asked but the offer wasn’t available on the phone. ☹️ I like offers so that was disappointing but seriously was an amazing night away seriously recommend this place highly . Very highly otherworldly than the online issue booking it was an excellent experience outstanding in my opinion and will be returning multiple times. Also only about 20 minutes from Kildare Village so o found after the hustle and bustle of the shops it was so good to come here and relax a real treat . Looking forward to the next stay

Attended my nephews wedding and I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the staff, they made the happy couple very happy. My wife, son and I had a family room which was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Definitely go again

Quiet hotel.

Room was exceptionally hot. Very uncomfortable and unable to adjust heating and/or temperature in room. Windows open only slightly. Had an awfully hot sweaty night. On the tempetature dial in room it said 26 degrees and the weather outdoors was roasting...not a good combination.

Excellent, professionally run hotel - not overly expensive. Surrounds are well maintained, staff are well trained, food is very good and all aspects are of a high standard. I wish owners continued success - possibly tie in with kildare village or promote yourselves more.

Our room was clean and modern. The chairs in our room had some stains which was not ideal. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the dining experience. Sat next to a window overlooking the smoking area where smoke would drift in putting me off the dining experience.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful Food was excellent in the restaurant The only downside is the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms

Burnt breakfast ....burnt bacon edges....reheated sausage and pudding.....dried out tomatoes.... replacement no better....indifferent bad mannered server....not pleasant ...will not return.....the town needs another hotel asp.....

From the moment we arrived at reception we were made to feel welcome by Sophie and Suzanne. Our room was spacious with all the amenities we needed and we had a beautiful seating area just outside our room which was great in this heatwave since we could have shade or full sun depending on the time of day.The room was spotless with a mini fridge .The large double bed was really comfortable.

This was a last minute booking for us, was pleasantly surprised how high end the hotel was when we turned up, we had a family room that had 3 large double beds that’s were very comfy. We had dinner in hotel which was excellent as well.

The bath wouldn’t hold water lo wasn’t a big issue!

I loved my stay recently booked for 1 night the room was spotless and very comfortable it was very warm night had no air conditioning but found out after could have got fan in wardrobe so they cater for everything food beautiful location lovely views from room and so peaceful will definitely return

Returned to Clanard Court to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, we held our reception there in 2006..we're very well looked after! Highly recommend!

My first visit . A lovely setting and had a great breakfast menu all freshly prepared. The friendly and helpful staff was key for myself.

Liked everything about it. No complaints. Facilities, staff and food excellent.

Everything else was great. Ample accessible parking, outdoor space for sitting in, beautiful reception area with space to relax, well appointed rooms, tastefully decorated.

We could have been provided with additional towels for our Garden Spa revive experience - we were told to use the towels in our room but there were only the bathroom towels available- none in the spa facilities so wet towels for shower afterwards. I would have enjoyed my pre- dinner cocktail in the relaxing reception area before going to our table, so even though we were a half hour early for our table booking, I felt we were expected to take the table, as it was ready. They were very busy, though, so maybe the concern to look after us and get us fed took precedent over making sure we enjoyed the experience. Just a personal preference, I suppose.

Perfect cap to a long weekend in Ireland. Athy is my family’s home and the Clanard welcomed us as family.

We booked in a group for scones and tea while on a day excursion to Athy. The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. I would love to go back and stay for a couple of nights as the hotel is beautiful and in a quiet location. Thanks to all the staff for looking after us so well. A big thank you to the chef who made the delicious scones

Myself and my husband had a wonderful weekend at the Clanard Court. Our room was perfect getaway to unwind and recharge. The food was great. We really enjoyed our dinner on the Saturday night. Since it was my husband’s 40th we decided to take advantage of the lovely spa. It was lovely using the sauna and hot tub. We also had treatments with Tara which were fantastic! The staff at the hotel were so lovely and accommodating. They made our stay that extra bit special. Thank you for a great weekend, we will definitely to be back. Chantal E

Stayed here for a Nissan Figaro rally, the team were exceptional, the hotel was stunning, clean and such a lovely vibe. One of the night receptionist even sewed my dress back together after a malfunction! Beautiful staff and venue.

Recently attended a wedding in the hotel. Excellent hotel, staff friendly & couldn't do enough for us. Food excellent. Rooms spotless & bed comfortable. Overall had a great stay & would definitely return.

This is a beautiful hotel, decor , the staff, the food and our beautiful room.

There was no issues it was perfect.

We were at a family wedding yesterday 7th May and had a great time. Everything was absolutely wonderful from the moment we arrived we were made welcome. The ceremony was so personal in the little chapel and the wedding meal was delicious. Plenty of staff and each one was so helpful especially Tom Kelly the manager, he was very hands on and didn't ask his staff to do anything he himself wouldn't do, please give him a raise! Room was fabulous and the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious also, with a cold buffet and a hot menu with plenty of variety. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend this hotel. Breda Breen, Portlaoise, Laois.

Lovely hotel and grounds

Was at a 2day wedding and the staff could not do enough for all of us..they were amazing. Food was delicious between finger food wedding meal, bar food. Rooms are beautiful and spotless will definitely be returning again.

I wouldn’t say it’s a kids friendly hotel. But it was lovely overall. Easy to find location. We travelled from Dublin.

The Clanard Court is located just outside of Athy , making it convenient stop for visitors to the recently opened Shackleton attraction in the town. A number of those in the hotel had availed of a deal between the hotel and museum. We chose to meet up for afternoon tea, as a treat for a friend who has been finding life a little tough at present . It was just the ticket to pick her spirits up. We sat and chatted in comfort as we enjoyed a variety of pastries and other dainties . The smoked salmon was presented on a particularly tasty “ stout” bread . I pride myself on the standard of my own scone . Those we had in the Clanard were well up to standard . The staff are most helpful and kind . We are pleased to have discovered a new venue, central to all 4 of us .
