Hele vriendelijke eigenaren, prachtige locatie op het platteland, heel mooi historisch huis, goed ontbijt en vlakbij het leuke stadje Athy waar je bij de pizzeria Mani in Pasta heerlijk kan eten. Wij hebben genoten!

Siamo arrivati tardissimo per il volo in ritardo e l'host ci ha atteso senza problemi, molto gentile e disponibile. La stanza molto spaziosa ed il bagno pulito e fornito di tutto. Colazione homemade curata, variegata e abbondante. Per essere una struttura familiare, ci siamo veramente sentiti a casa.

The host/s helped us with a logistical issue beyond the call of duty. Our problem was resolved quickly and this meant that we were able to continue our itinerary without interruption. The breakfast was the best that we have experienced so far in Ireland and travel advice was greatly appreciated. The garden was beautiful and it was so lovely to be able to stroll around and unwind. We have discovered that great accommodation and your hosts is a huge part of your overall travel experience.

Das Frühsrück war super, alles da. Mary und ihr Mann waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Lodge liegt tramhaft in der Natur und nicht zu weit weg von Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche war extrem nieder. Es gab nur ein Handtuchset für 2 Personen. Im Zimmer keine Ablagemöglichkeiten für Koffer oder Reisetasche.

A welcoming historic home with beautiful furnishings in keeping with the style of the property. The property is in a tranquil location a few minutes' drive from Athy, with friendly hosts, a tasty breakfast, on-site parking. Good value for money, especially as a solo traveller.

The location was just perfect for a first night in Ireland after arrival at Dublin airport. Wonderful historical buildings in a quiet location, with an excellent dinner to be found nearby, and full Irish breakfast in the morning.

The context, property and guests are exceptional. Fantastic scones baked by Mary. Raymond is a fabulous story teller!!

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par la propriétaire. La chambre est spacieuse et les lits très confortables, typiquement irlandaise. L'environnement est très agréable. Le petit-déjeuner est exquis : saucisses, bacon, oeuf, prunes du jardin, céréales, soda bread, scone fait maison (mmmm!!!)... Merci pour tout !

Petit déjeuner très bon et copieux. Raymond est un hôte très intéressant avec qui nous avons pu échanger. Malheureusement nous avons moins échanger avec Mary mais elle est très sympathique aussi. Le lieu est très calme. On serait bien resté plus. 1 lit double et 2 lits simples. Facile de se garer devant et un immense jardin pour se promener. A 8 minutes du centre d'ATHY.

Si on devait mettre un bémol, ca serait sur les lits

Die Lodge ist sehr ruhig gelegen zwischen Feldern, trotzdem ist die nächste Ortschaft schnell erreichbar. Das Frühstück wurde individuell und frisch zu bereitet und war super lecker.

Everything about this place was great, amazing location, the couple who run the place are so friendly and helpful and a fantastic breakfast to go with it. Room was a beautiful large room with ensuite and really nice shower bed incredibly comfortable never slept so well really have nothing bad to say about the place. Thank You will stay again.

Au calme, dans la campagne Irlandaise, Mary et Raymond vous acceuille chez eux dans la plus pure tradition des B&B. C'est charmant, on s'y sent bien de suite. La chambre était très grande. La déco a le charme typique de ces établissements. La salle de bain a été refaite et elle est parfaite aussi. Notre découverte de l'Irish breakfast typique, un régal.

to be honest this is showing it’s age. if you are ok with no AC or oscillating fan to keep the air moving, cob webs in the upper corners and mattresses from maybe 1800 then this is a good place to stay.

Bellissima accoglienza in un contesto tranquillo, circondato dalla campagna in situazione assolutamente tranquilla e rasserenante. Camera conforme alle aspettative. Ottima colazione, tradizionale nel nostro caso, ma viene anche data possibilità di scelta.

A truly warm and genuine welcome from Raymond and Mary who made us feel home from home. This property will delight all historians, and those who appreciate a character property will not be disappointed. It is a few minutes from Athy, a quaint and typical town with gorgeous riverside walks. The grounds are spacious and quiet, well manicured and lush.

A car is essential

Grande chambre confortable dans une belle maison du XVIII ème. Excellent petit déjeuner irlandais et hôtes très agréables qui nous ont donné de bons conseils de visite et restau.

Le B&B est parfait pour une nuit en route pour Dublin. C’est vraiment la campagne , calme est sympa.

An absolutely beautiful old family country house that has been tastefully transformed into a charming up market B&B. Mary and Raymond are delightful hosts - full of local knowledge and wonderful Irish hospitality. It really does feel like you are guests in their home. The house and location are in the heart of the countryside with lovely views. Needless to say that it is in a very quiet area and we slept beautifully! Breakfast is all home-made and cooked to perfection. Close, easy drive into Athy for dinner. Would have no hesitation to go back and stay if we were back in the beautiful area. Thanks for a wonderful stay both.

Everything was perfect. We experienced 18th century charm in Moate Lodge. Mary and Raymond are excellent hosts. We had a warm welcome and privilege enough to have a tour in Raymond’s private tour. Food was delicious and wholesome, room was spacious, bathroom was spotless.

Die Ausstattung ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen - aber durchaus charmant

Hieno huone pehmeillä matoilla, muhkeilla sängyillä ja kauniilla verhoilla. Parisängyn tyynyliinoissa oli hieno vanhanaikainen käsin kirjailtu kuvio (wow!). Vanhanaikaista eleganssia sekä koko talossa että myös tavassa palvella asiakkaita. Täälläkin olisi halunnut viettää aikaa hieman pidempään.

En löydä mitään negatiivista. Pieni jääkaappi huoneessa voisi olla kätevä.

Accommodation in summer and winter may differ. We were in comfortable weather.

In the vast majority of Irish B&Bs there is no air conditioning in the rooms. When it is hot you have to open the windows. Then insects fly into the room and bite you. In winter it is cold. The air conditioner is turned on when it wants and chooses a comfortable temperature.

Mary and her husband were fantastic hosts. The place was beautiful. The scenery breathtaking Our room was comfortable and cosy Breakfast excellent 10/10

Lovely house with lovely hosts surrounded by beautiful nature. Delicious breakfast and comfortable rooms. We travelled from the west coast to Dublin before our flight and just needed a one night stop to relax and this was the perfect place. We travelled with young kids. Can highly recommend.

A very nice elderly couple owns and operates this B&B. A charming, refurbished 200-yrs old house.

It’s very remote. Would be nice to be able to use the microwave/kitchen to warm up food we bought earlier, so after driving for hours, we wouldn’t have had to get back in the car and drive again, to find some overpriced, mediocre restaurant.

It was a lovely property and an amazing host! Ireland overall is an amazing country with beautiful views and even better people. Always felt safe, respected and loved the atmosphere. The hosts were super responsive, courteous and had amazing suggestions for local exploring.

A lovely place with wonderful hosts, we felt well looked after and had a great night's sleep. We gor fresh homemade scones at breakfast and grear tips on activities for our family.

This was a lovely traditional B&B in a beautiful 250 year old farmhouse house.

I loved Mary and her husband such lovely people they went out off their way to make us comfortable and the room was beautiful very clean with everything we needed I nearly missed breakfast because the bed was so comfortable and the breakfast amazing so thank you so much and see you again soon for more stories from your dear husband

This is a beautiful 18th Century Farm House. Mary has done a great job of incorporating tasteful internal decor in keeping with the character of the house. The furnishings and decor added to the experience. A great breakfast and welcoming hosts.

Der Standort ist perfekt - ländlich aber nicht zu weit draußen. Das Frühstück war zwar gut und original Irisch. Die Frau Gastgeberin war sehr nett. Der Herr Gastgeber war sehr gesprächig, was etwas störte.

Die Küche hatte den Blick ins Frühstückzimmer, wir fühlten uns ständig durch die Gastgeber beim Frühstücken beobachtet. Zudem hatte der Herr Gastgeber großes Interesse an einer Unterhaltung mit uns. Da ich die einzige Person unserer Gruppe war, die englisch sprach, war ich jedes Mal am Zug, eine Antwort zu geben. Ich hätte lieber das leckere Frühstück genossen. Aber ich wollte nicht unhöflich sein, zumal der Herr Gastgeber sehr nett war - typisch für diese irische Kultur. Zweitens: Die Zimmereinrichtung glich einem Museum. Es gab kein Internet. Wir hatten schon viele irische Häuser gesehen, aber hier ist dringend Renovierung notwendig - insbesondere bei dem Preis, der verlangt wurde!!! Mein Kind fürchtete sich in diesem alten/altmodischen Haus vor Spuk. Wir werden definitiv nicht wiederkommen.

Room was very very small. Would have been good for children but not two adults. No decent chair to sit on. No table only a nightstand.

Mary and Raymond were exceptional hosts Raymond gave me a comprehensive history of the lodge and military history in Kildare which was really interesting.The setting was idyllic I wish I could have stayed longer
