Reviewed Sep 19, 2026The location was good. There is a food shop and a parking in a walking distance which is convenient. We had dinner at a lovely tapas place near by. Beds were comfortable. Friendly staff.
The AC was extremely noisy. And the breakfast wasn’t what I was expecting.

Reviewed Sep 15, 2026From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel valued. Staff were exceptional, bright and chatty. The room was immaculate, cool and comfortable. En-suite facilities very clean too. Location was slightly difficult to find, but that was probably due to my aged SatNav..!! Breakfast was brilliant, again greeted by one of the staff, happy and smiling. Plenty of food and choices to cater for all tastes and appetites. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The staff are a credit to the organisation, well done.

It was good to see a manager (or i think he was had a suit) out on the floor helping the staff cleaning and gathering up dirty dishes (think his name was Leonard)All the staff were very friendly and helpful

Reviewed Sep 14, 2026The checking process was really speedy. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is located in a quiet location not far from the city centre. The breakfast buffet was good and had plenty of options for both continental and english and members of staff did refill quickly anything that ran low. The room was clean and tidy.
The only thing that might come into this section is the door for the bathroom. It is cleverly designed to save space but it keeps on swinging into its open position, which closes the WC and leaves access to the sink and shower. It is just odd. Nevertheless, this did not make our stay less enjoyable.

Really liked the design of the room e.g. the bathroom door shuts in two places so someone can be in the toilet and bathroom at the same time but separated - the small things! The breakfast which was included in the price was exceptional for a hotel buffet breakfast. Complementary tea and coffee in the room and more available at reception if needed. Also offered free toiletries if forgotten e.g. shaving foam, toothpaste etc. Hotel provides 50% discount to the car park next door.

Not a wink The even numbered rooms back onto the rubbish area behind new dock hall. You get the noise from staff - laughter and bottle binning - after the evening shift till past midnight then from around 4:30 am more bottle crashing and bin rolling and rubbish wagons announcing they are reversing. The food is incredibly basic and limited to liquid egg scrambled to powder and the evening menu side of green veg is frozen cabbage and green beans. So clearly nothing fresh or perishable in the kitchen The bedding quality is poor. Sandpaper pillow case. However the staff were very nice, the place is clean and in a good location with reasonable parking. Just recommended you bring ear plugs, a pillow case and eat out.

We had drinks in the bar in the afternoon and once again the staff were very friendly and happy to chat with us. The hotel is in a very good location to explore the city with the added bonus of the car park next door. We had an evening meal at the hotel and the food was very tasty and well presented which we bot really enjoyed. We has breakfast on our leaving day as soon as it was available as we had an early start and it really set us up for the day, plenty of choice and tasty. i will be booking again in the future as the hotel helped us to have a very enjoyable trip.

The doors in this hotel are noisy so you will be woken up. We found a used condom in our room. Breakfast stops, and i mean arrive at 9.31am and its gone, Breakfast stops at 9.30am. Its far too early. to stop serving breakfast 10.30 at least.

Das Zentrum ist fussläufig zu erreichen und das Personal war sehr freundlich. Vielen Dank! Als Hinweis, es gibt zwei Holiday Inn Express City Centre in Leeds, aus eigener Erfahrung ist der Zusatz Armouries für die Navigation hilfreich.

The only thing we didn’t like was it was very poorly soundproofed. The room doors all slam noisily, we could hear the lady next door having a conversation very clearly and there was a dog barking several times during the night. My sleep was non existent.

I hated the two single beds being pushed together to make a double - very uncomfortable and not really a double because you have to sleep on one side or another. My friend had a normal double so I would request this if I stayed again. Didn’t like that the television only going up to a certain volume because I struggle with my hearing, though I understand why, it could go a little louder especially if you have the heating/air con on. Also, the noise that came from outside on both mornings of my stay really put me off staying there gain - one was from the Gengis Khan performance across the way and the next morning was from some cleaning machine outside which woke me up at 7.30, VERY ANNOYING!!!

Nice touch in the bathroom that the door could close on the toilet side to make using the toilet private from the rest of the bathroom. Room was great for what we needed it for, would stay her again if I was visiting the area again
Didn't like there wasn't hotel onsite parking but was a short walk from the car park to the hotel and even though there was a reduction on the parking I believe it should be free as I had to pay twice for a 1 night stay due to driving to an event and back, had to pay after checking in to go to the event then pay again upon leaving the next morning after re entering the car park after the event

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026Almost everything was above expectation: the room was great, plenty of parking in the nearby garage against a reasonable price, perfect location for visiting the armor with an good coffee shop nearby and plenty of restaurants about on 10 - 15 minutes walk. The hotel is very modern and looks amazing. The staff was super friendy and accomodating. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was great.
The breakfast was good but limited; I wish we could order a boiled or poached egg.

Reviewed Aug 28, 2026I ve stayed here multiple times over the years and the staff, rooms and the breakfast is always 100% I most definitely recommend if your looking for a hotel close to the city centre but yet quiet enough at night to sleep soundly. The rooms are always clean and the bed is super comfy. The bathroom is always spotless and the shower is one of the best I've ever had at an hotel.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026The whole experience. We had brought our 11 year old granddaughter for the first day of the Test at Headingley. The reception staff were welcoming, friendly & professional. Bar & restaurant area is so clean & fresh yet has a wonderful ambience in the evening, drinks were a reasonable price for a hotel too. Lovely lighting adorned to the trees outside. Right next to a canal & the armouries. Breakfast was included in price with a fantastic selection which was kept full throughout breakfast service & tables were swiftly cleared & cleaned to allow flow of guests. The family room was well planned & our granddaughter absolutely loved the pullout bed which had been made up ready for arrival. Importantly there was 3 of everything,cups, spoons, towels- well done housekeeping ! Check in & check out were a quick & smooth procedure.
Although there were some sealed gluten free cereal packs available I couldn't see gf bread/pastry offerings or a separate toaster in a protected area. I would suggest you introduce a dedicated area for gluten free/coeliac guests then we can confidently bring our older grandaughter & young grandson for a stay & they won't miss out. Not the hotel's fault but do double check the transport options for Headingley, the bus was a nightmare due to road closures, drivers giving misinformation. We arrived at Headingley after the first ball having left the hotel in plenty of time.

The room overall was good but there were a few bumps and marks on the walls and floor. The room could do with a freshen up.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026The staff were super friendly and helpful, Reception Ezabella was a joy smiley good fun and made everything easy, breakfast was lovely. Rooms clean and airy
I want to make a special mention to the two ladies working attending the bar Rhdyeon, and Tilly were so great and seem to enjoy the laughs ... Made our stay even better they were just working enjoying their dinner
