Reviewed Sep 11, 2026We were truly impressed by the high quality and exceptional service at InterContinental Cairo Citystars. In particular, our breakfast experience was fantastic, thanks to the excellent management of Mr. Khaled Mahmoud. From the very first day, the staff went above and beyond to make our daughter feel comfortable. They took the time to approach her, help her choose what she wanted from the buffet, and even brought her food to the table. This level of genuine care and attention was far beyond anything we had experienced before and made our stay especially memorable. We would also like to express our appreciation to Mr. Peter George for his highly professional handling of the issues we encountered. His personal attention, care, and commitment to resolving matters were greatly appreciated. A big thank you to the entire team for making our stay so enjoyable. The combination of outstanding hospitality, professionalism, and genuine care is what truly sets this hotel apart.
Nothing - we hope to come back in the near future.

Concierge very pushy at check in, took 15 mins for us to check in due to being upsold and pressured to upgrade our room at large extra cost. Even when turning down one offer we were kept waiting and offered another extra cost upgrade. I understand it’s a business, but in a nice hotel like Intercontinental it feels a bit too pushy. I know what I’ve booked and at what price, I don’t want to be pressured to upgrade at check in. Not a very 5 star customer experience.

Reviewed Apr 15, 2026Excellent buffet breakfast but not included. The food at the lunch or dinner buffet were similar. There are 3 on site restaurants that might provide better food choices. For an Egyptian cost of living, cost of a US $35 dinner buffet could be quite expensive. The Mall next door has galore of restaurant choices and a good size supermarket. There's also a nice outdoor swimming pool and also an attached health club and spa. The hotel is clean and appealing.
Although the listed price per standard room is $235. After adding tax and fee, the total cost exceeds $ 300 a night. To me that's really expensive inside Cairo. This hotel is actually situated eight miles from downtown area.
