Breakfast was very varied and high quality including fresh fruit salad, cereal, porridge and full cooked. They also catered well for different dietary needs. Each cooked breakfast was fresh and made to order. Nothing was too much trouble. Room had tea and coffee making facilities AND a fridge. The latter is a bonus, few places have these now. Quiet location and on-site parking. Easy 20 minute walk into town centre.

A beautiful home and perfectly located. The hosts Sheila and Steve are so welcoming and friendly. It was like being home from home. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. A great selection of hot and cold breakfasts were available and the poached eggs were to die for! Would definitely recommend.

Couldn't find fault in anything.

Food was excellent for breakfast, and the owners were welcoming and thoughtful about meeting our needs. The garden was spacious and peaceful. It is a short walk to town and therefore very accessible. The house and rooms were very secure and the rooms were provided with minibars and quality accessories.

The tap in the shower was difficult to turn off and the water pressure was low.

Great size room complete with all the amenities. The beds are fantastically comfortable - so much so I asked the owners where they got their mattresses. Decent breakfast and catered for all tastes. Loads of parking. Also a great location - walking distance to the centre of town. A return to Somerville House is most definitely on the cards!

Great B & B within walking distance to Hereford. We had a warm welcome from the hosts on arrival who explained the everything we needed to know from breakfast being served to accessing the B & B when coming back from an evening out. The bedroom was on the second floor which was small but big enough for an overnight stay. The bed and pillows were really comfortable and the room including bathroom were spotlessly clean. There was a fan but as it was exceptionally hot weather which made the room a little uncomfortable during the night. We sat in the beautiful garden during the evening which was peaceful and we were welcomed by the owners elderly dog (forgot his name) and as dog lovers it was really nice. There is a bar and a mini bar in the rooms with a honesty box, write your room, name and what you have taken and pay when leaving. The breakfast was exceptional with a choice from cereals, juices and a selection of cooked items which were cooked to order. We would stay here again.

The only thing was the bedroom was a little too warm even with a fan and window open but it was exceptionally hot weather so other than another fan (we didn't ask for one) not much could be done.

Somerville House in Hereford is quite possibly the best B&B we've found to date. Perfectly situated close enough to the town centre to be a leisurely stroll yet far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle and traffic noise, set back from the quiet road and a stones throw from the train station without being near the track, a very peaceful night's sleep is guaranteed . The most genuine of warmest welcomes awaits you from Sheila and Steve who have thought of everything you need to make your stay perfect and make you feel like you've known them forever rather than having just met them and nothing is too much trouble, a cosy, homely atmosphere wraps you up as soon as you say hello. The rooms are absolutely gleaming, not a speck of dust to be found and a bathroom so polished you have to wear shades. The rooms have a fridge with a great selection of reasonably priced beers, ciders, wines, soft drinks and snacks and to top it off you can help yourself from the fridge downstairs to complimentary fresh milk for your teas and coffeees and also to drinks which you then pay for on leaving, perfect if you want to spend a summer evening in the beautiful garden with a bottle of wine. In the morning breakfast can not be bettered, a fine selection of cereal and fruit followed by a hot offering of your choice from porridge to kippers to a traditional full English which is what we had and which we could not fault, fresh local produce perfectly cooked setting you up for the day ahead. Absolutely superb!!!

The house was a lovely Victorian house. The people were kind and friendly. The breakfasts were fabulous . The room was great and the bed was the best ever. So comfortable we had the best sleeps despite the heat. Great choice. Toni and Kathy.

Steve and Shiela were friendly, helpful hosts. We were running a bit late for a wedding celebration on arrival, and Steve very kindly offered to give us a lift to the nearby venue in his car. The accommodation was comfortable and quiet, and the breakfasts were excellent: a freshly made fruit compote was a highlight of the breakfast buffet, and we could pick and choose from a large number of options on the full English cooked menu. We didn't have time to sit in the lovely garden but would have enjoyed doing so had our schedule permitted. We would wholeheartedly recommend Somerville House.

Peaceful location , yet within easy reach of amenities and town centre (Hereford). Spacious, stylish room which was well-heated and nice bathroom with a very good shower. Lovely fluffy towels. The room had a huge bed which was very comfortable and a gorgeous view of the garden and Hereford. We also had a warm welcome on arrival. Easy parking. Breakfast was plentiful, very tasty and had varied.

This hotel is exceptional, the rooms are immaculate with good facilities and the bed was so comfortable. I slept very well. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. They also have a beautiful garden. Breakfast was delicious and they use quality ingredients, everything was cooked perfectly. There is plenty to choose from hot food, fresh fruit and cereal. It's also very reasonably priced for the high standard of accommodation. There is also free parking. It's a really lovely place.

Steve & Sheila really were the loveliest hosts, couldn't have been more cheerful, helpful and accommodating, and always ensured we had everything we needed. Free parking and a short (15 mins) stroll from the Cathedral / riverside make it a pretty idea location. Service with a smile (always) at its best!

Nothing really. Thought the entrance hall was splendid and with the door open into the garden it looked lovely. The carpet on the stairs to the first floor looked a bit tired and there was water damage to the ceiling in the hall. Maintenance issues that had no affect on my stay. There was a little mould on the seal around the bath behind the taps (a tricky spot) which I only noticed as I am obsessed about that in my own house. The bathroom mirror fully steamed up so I had to wipe it with a face cloth to shave, whereas in the previous hotel the mirror was either treated or somehow different so that whilst the edges steamed up, the centre remained clear and I could see my ugly mug. There comments aren't meant as criticisms, just observations.

We enjoyed our stay in this excellent B and B. We both thought it was a very high quality experience.

I stayed in the middle of a family crisis as my son has been taken into hospital. My room was clean , warm and the bed was so comfy.Just wonderful, so well appointed with a fridge and great selection of drinks and snacks to purchase at reasonable prices. Breakfast was delicious and set me up for the day. The care and kindness I was afforded went the extra mile and made such a difference at a very difficult time. Thank you so very much.. Paula Mostyn

Absolutely everything, the room was beautiful with really thoughtful touches . Loads of plug sockets and well lit mirrors . The staff go above and beyond. The honesty bar is a fantastic idea. Very well stocked mini bar at very reasonable prices. Excellent breakfast with first class service. The owners really care about the service they provide and should be extremely proud of their home.

This place is an incredible value. An historic home, we were warmly greeted by our hosts and walked directly to the Cathedral (1 mile), where we were invited in for Sunday Evensong (it was gorgeous). They also gave us dinner recommendations and were so helpful and friendly! The rooms are spic and span, very comfortable bed, modern bathroom and (finally!) enough space to spread out. We were sad to leave, having stayed only the one night but it was well worth the investment in time. Highly recommended!
