Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The location, the staff were excellent very helpful & obliging. Lovely hotel. It will be a fantastic place to stay when renovations are completed. We enjoyed our stay very much thanks to the amazing staff & lovely quaint hotel.
As the hotel was under renovation we accepted things were needed to change such as the shower in our room although we were able to use the shower.
The property was undergoing renovation but we had been before Bed comfortable. Breakfast good. Good location.
Cleanliness. Bathroom blind didn't work.
We were welcomed by Lynne, who was very helpful and friendly, which added to our experience. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable.
There is some refurbishment ongoing to the hotel, which is needed to give it a fresh uplift, but this didn't detract from our stay.
Comfortable bed
Very much a work in progress with refurbishment going on and rooms downstairs in better condition than bedrooms. Attempts made to make bedroom comfortable but attention to detail on cleanliness and repairs very much needed, particularly in the en-suite shower room. Water in basin was barely tepid. Had to ask for towels as none in room. In comparison to experiences in other hotels stayed in, overpriced at this stage.
Beautiful building gorgeous interior especially the breakfast room
Chef maybe shouldn’t be dealing with customers
Cosy and full of character. Nice full English breakfast.
Nothing.
Good location on the edge of town. Nice breakfast room. Good shower pressure
Not clean. Tired, with decorating equipment in various spaces. Unprepared check-in. Poor communication at breakfast. Poor general hospitality.
Breakfast was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable.
No info pack in the bedroom, such as how to link to WiFi, use the coffee machine or fire exits!
An absolute delightful stay! Could not fault it, clean and comfortable room, stunning breakfast (photographed of course! Best eggs ever), access to town very close, staff were exceptional! I will certainly return!
I was very happy.
Breakfast and soft bed
Cleanliness Filthy windows Broken bed base Wallpaper falling off Loo roll holder Broken No headboard Saturday evening. No bar open 8.30 no lights on and no bar open Shampoo and bodywash had been used by many previous stayers. No decaf coffee. Disappointing beverage display. Loo seat didn't fit properly Throw was horrible I could go on
Great host
Dated but being renovated by the host

I arrived and they told me my reservation had been cancelled. I had previously messaged the hotel to say I was arriving early & was it OK to park there but no-one replied. No one messaged to say my reservation had been cancelled. I supplied there menu on reception to prove I had been back. Now I have to try & claim the excess back from my hotel I had to book out of town & two taxi journeys using the consumer act.
Full English amongst other breakfast was offered and proved exceptional value for well presented and well sourced food cooked well. The room was an upgrade due to current refurbishment arrangements and well maintained comfortable and spacious. WiFi proved excellent and communication with the hosts was great.
I was aware from previous reviews that the hotel is in the process of being improved and refurbished so the nature of fittings and need for modernising the bathroom was evident, however everything was serviceable and maintained.
We had a wonderful stay here and couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful setting. The B&B is in the beautiful, quiet Shropshire countryside, with lovely views across the surrounding fields. Our room was spotlessly clean, modern and very comfortable, with luxurious carpeting and quality fittings. Breakfast was freshly cooked for us and served in the open-plan kitchen and dining area, which has wonderful views over the fields. Rose and Philip were absolutely lovely — warm, welcoming and genuinely made us feel at home. One of our favourite moments was simply sitting on the patio in the evening, watching the sunset with a glass of wine. A beautiful place to stay, made all the more special by the warmth and hospitality of Rose and Philip. We’d be very happy to stay again and would definitely recommend it.
Great location for the railway station
Location and building
From the outside of the property it looks inviting and period
Where do I begin the room was shabby wallpaper was flaking off the ceiling there were ripples in the carpet the room looked very tired My room was not serviced for the entire time that I stayed at the hotel For the amount of money that I paid I would’ve had a better experience staying at a Travelodge
Lovely location, plenty of parking, and clean.
The warm welcome and great breakfast were highlights of our stay. The location was great for our needs, as it's a short walk to the bus station and then on to the town centre itself.
The single room option was very cramped and quite tired decor-wise. An odd shower layout, which is separate to the toilet and sink and directly in front of you when you enter, was also a bit of a surprise. Not the host's fault but the hot temperatures made the stay a bit uncomfortable, as the desk fan provided didn't really do anything.
Very warm welcome when I arrived. Plenty of parking. Attractive building. Fan in room which helped in the hot weather. Toiletries provided (shower gel, shampoo etc). Breakfast excellent and the dining area was lovely.
My room was a little tired in terms of decor and finishes.
The position was excellent for what we wanted to do. Walking distance to town. The staff member that we dealt with was lovely.
If anything it was in places looking a little bit tired.
Fantastic breakfast, excellent room great hosts, highly recommend this hotel. Next to train & bus stations, couple of mins from town centre.
It was perfect.
Is a bit tired as each room is being updated one by one but will be lovely when finished ,room and bathroom was spotless, location is fantastic...staff although we only saw 1 was really lovely but she could definitely do with some help as she was really busy at breakfast time .Breakfast was ok but felt the continental could of had more choice of pastries, fruit and cereals..choice was poor and toast was way underdone
Comfortable bed. Good shower. Lovely breakfast. John and Adam very helpful too.
No air con (36 degrees) but the hotel is being upgraded. I had a room with no WiFi which I needed to work. The owner offered downstairs. John, the brand new owner is doing his best. The toilet blocked too. Couldn't be fixed until the next day so use your imagination to how uncomfortable that was. Couldn't move rooms. Very limited sleep. The heat was unreal, I'm drinking so much water and had a blocked toilet. To say my stay was uncomfortable is an understatement. I was at the top of the hotel in The Winston room so avoid if offered. One of the last to be upgraded.
Location great staff very helpful, clean and tidy
Bedrooms could be updated but am sure as new owner settles in this will happen as is happening in other areas of the placd
Comfy, firm bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good choice for breakfast (choose day before). 10 minute walk to middle of Hereford. Ample parking. We were on the top floor and had a view of the Cathedral. Lovely gardens. Even though it was on a main road the noise of the traffic was minimal. Lovely to stay in such lovely surroundings inside.
Nothing.
Very friendly
Not easy to find no sign post
On arrival, we were greeted warmly, our room was spacious with a large comfy bed. Lovely breakfast with care given to provide a gluten free breakfast for my husband. The host gave us directions into the centre and suggested a couple of restaurants for our evening meal.
very good breakfast
Breakfast
The property itself has no doubt seen better days with some work required and the room was scruffy and in need of a refurb. Couldn't sleep a wink because of the noise from traffic on the main road. Not a fan of duvet's either, way too hot in the summer.
A wonderful house and garden. The dining room and my bedroom in particular.
Nothing to say.
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We were in Winston, which is a top floor room but the stairs were easy to climb and there was barely any noise. The shower was great and the bathroom had a lovely view of the side garden. The staff are all amazing. Lyn was so friendly and supportive, helping us find our room and was really disability aware, give us audio descriptions and ensuring we knew where the steps were. Pam was so friendly and helpful and made sure we had what we needed and that we were happy and comfortable. Adam and Pam made us an amazing breakfasts and the breakfast room was beautiful with big windows looking out into the gardens. There was cereals, fruit salad, yoghurt, water, orange juice, milk and jams available. We had a full English which was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. They also brought us coffee, tea and toast freshly made. The gardens have had some work and effect put into and it shows. It was a beautiful place to rest and sit. I spent so much time laying under a tree enjoying the view. I think I have Jon's mum to thank for that. When we went it was during a heatwave and the staff were lovely, making sure we were hydrated and giving us ice for our own drinks. In the evening we popped into the bar for a drink before bed and chatted with Jon who has done a wonderful job on the bar and the refurbishment. The bar is looking amazing and has a variety of beers and spirits including local beers and potentially gins. We were lucky enough to meet the bestest boy, Ernie, a beautiful Sprocker. Jon and all the staff went above and beyond and made us feel welcome and at home. I have never had such amazing customer service and met people so compassionate to others and passionate about where they work. There is parking available and the staff were kind enough to let us leave our bags so we could explore Hereford for the day.
They are currently undergoing a revamp and although our room was outdated it did have some beautiful featured furniture. I can't wait to see the finished product.
Lovely room and breakfast
Hotel under new management, renovations being done so no bar or breakfast room. Didn't spoil my stay as it was just one night but others might like to be made aware!
Very friendly welcome. Good choices for breakfast, which was deliciously cooked fresh. Size of the room.
Nothing
Breakfast was exceptional and the host was very friendly and accommodating. We definitely be back, fantastic stay.
Some tiny tweaks needed to room décor.
Room was a fairly comfortable temperature despite the intense heatwave. Shower was fine. Bed comfortable. Room spacious. Breakfast was fine, decent selection of food. Really close to the train station so very good when travelling. Easy walk into town for dinner. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. Seems to have loads of parking (I came on the train so didn't need it, but noticed this as a good feature). I understand it's recently changed owners so is currently a little bit of a work in progress but seems to be heading in a good direction.
It's a B&B rather than a hotel so useful to expect that. The only toiletries provided in the room was a bottle of handwash and I'd not brought shampoo - oops. Wifi signal was a bit variable. Main gripe is that I was never given a receipt for my payment, despite being promised one by e-mail and following up with an e-mail to the B&B to them to ask for one - a bit of a problem if you're travelling for work and need the receipt!
Peace and Quiet
The breakfast. Coffee was barely warm. Same with cooked breakfast.
I was upgraded for no extra cost - that was so lovely. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Parking is excellent at this property and that’s really important to me.
There's nothing not to like. Its a fabulous place with fabulous staff.
Very helpful staff. Very comfortable bed and a large room. Good breakfast
Shower small but we knew the new owner had plans to refurbish the bedrooms and bathrooms
It is such a lovely place to stay and only a 10 minute walk to the city centre The breakfast, was served in an a beautiful dinning room, and was excellent and the MAN in charge of cooking it, certainly knows how to make the best poached eggs ever, as good as I make them. The room as comfortable, with everything I needed; it was quiet in the rooms, even though the hotel was set back form the main road. Parking was excellent. This was my second visit here and I thoroughly recommend you staying there.
There was nothing to dislike
Lovely property, and nice to see it’s being renovated. Great location for staying in Hereford
3 pm book in , is probably about an hour later than is ideal . But this seems to be the way Hotels are going .
Close to the area we needed to visit . free parking ease of access , easy to find. good breakfast, help full staff.
Problem with hot water system to the room . Not a problem as there was an adequate shower. minor problem when washing hands .Towels needed to be a little softer.
Clearly Aylestone House is a work in progress. Very friendly staff, great breakfast , large rooms, comfortable bed. The building itself is being restored. Ample car parking and a 10-15 minute walk to central Hereford.
There was nothing to dislike.
Location, room, staff, breakfast
Breakfast was great
Room was small and bathroom was cramped
Lovely building with lots of history and in a great location on edge of city. Close to train station and a short walk to the centre of Hereford.
Hotel going through renovation and the 2 staff on were very busy. There was no soap or shower gel in the en suite.
Found this property by chance, lovely house with friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely. Would definitely stay again.
Our room was spacious and comfortable but the decor and some fittings are a bit tired. However, we know the new owner has started a programme of refurbishment so all that will improve. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast room is very pleasant. Lovely staff and it's a beautiful building.
As above, the decor etc needs upgrading, which is already in hand. Once that's completed it will be great.
Warm friendly welcome clean comfortable room parking in price great location walking distance to town breakfast was yummy
Perfect stay. Wonderful staff, especially Lynn who was exceptional, gorgeous food and a beautiful home. Loved our stay.

Very nice staff. Was made to feel welcome and also allowed me early check in.
Very good breakfast
Reception was cool and not very welcoming
With new owners, there is trust this might be quite nice in a few months. And the hotel is centrally located.
The property is under remodel and is not really suitable for guests. The whole place needs a thorough cleaning and re-doing of most chairs. Our skirting boards have not been cleaned in years!!
welcoming friendly staff, good breakfast. Lovely old house. Convenient location
Overall the place feels "tired" and in need of a refresh. The new owner understands this and is working as fast as he can. Unfortunately it was very hot and because it was so near the main road it was very noisy with the windows open.
Casa antiga com clima bem inglês. Aconchegante e bonita
Gostei de tudo
The hotel was lovely, breakfast was good. The hotel is roomy big and airy. Comfortable bed. A short walk into the town centre which was easy to navigate. Perfect location. Would stay again if near the area.
Nothing to say bad about.
The room very spacious . Breakfast excellent . Not only are the hosts welcoming the hotel seemed to embrace you in its warmth,. The garden a delight to sit and read in.
Nothing really .
Friendly staff .Comfy bed . Good breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere.
Generally tired looking hotel, but the new owners were actively working on improvement.
lovely breakfast, staff friendly and helpful, location quiet, accessible and close to town
Would have liked a bath, but I'm sure they do have rooms with baths we could have booked
Easy walk into the centre. Pleasant welcome. Good breakfast. Good amount of tea/ coffee available in the room. Some hiccups due to change of ownership but dealt with appropriately.
Very good breakfasts - especially the smoked salmon! A clean and comfortable room. The hotel was very well located for my purposes, very close to the railway station, which was important to me for my day trip to London during my stay in Hereford. The walk to the Cathedral was also more than manageable for me.
There was a short wait before someone arrived to let me in.
Hospitality from the staff, location was brilliant and enjoyed the breakfast!
Close to town and train station. Liked my room. Victoria room. It is dated but that didn’t bother me. Breakfast was lovely and fresh. As l was on my own I felt safe.
I can’t really think of anything I didn’t.
Beautifully restored building in a great location 5 minutes walk into Hereford. Very welcoming on arrival we were early as attending a wedding they allowed us to check-in and gave us the honeymoon suite which was stunning. Breakfast was also amazing 10/10
Couldn't fault it
Great location, close to train station. Lovely building, friendly staff. Good breakfast. Comfy bed.
The Alfredo room would benefit from black out curtains/blind
Comfortable roo and bed. Very good breakfast served quickly
Nothing
Aylestone Court is a nice place to stay, generous spacious rooms, breakfast everything I would hope for.
Lovely building, full of atmosphere and character.
New owners so a bit chaotic, but always with a smile and great fun.
Very comfortable, good breakfast and very friendly staff.
We arrived as ownership had just changed so some upgrade is awaited.
Everything is perfect for a long weekend. Away from the hustle and bustle of Big City life. Close to the railway station and bus station. Walking distance to the Cathedral and restaurants.
Very welcoming host and staff and good freshly cooked breakfast offered early if needed. Helpful information. Comfortable bed. Quiet location with garden near city centre. Spacious room.
Wifi repeatedly dropped off. Some facilities could do with modernisation if you want bland.
love the location and the hotel very quirky
nothing loved it all
Convenient location with private parking. The staff were very welcoming, really pleasant, and accommodating.
The hotel is in need of real TLC. The basic cleaning standard needs upped.
Friendly nice staff
Breakfast could have tasted better
A very pleasant experience, lovely little hotel. Great location. Lovely breakfast.

Loved the old building. Bed was super comfortable. Location was excellent close to the station and centre of town. Staff very accommodating and extremely helpful. We will definitely be booking again. 😁
Pet FREE Location within walking distance of city centre. Parking at the hotel. Spacious bedroom and comfortable bed. Fruit salad and home made jams at breakfast.
Croissants were hard.
The freshly cooked English breakfast was very good.
Everything was fine.
Huge room, very comfy bed, friendly staff, free plentiful parking, good breakfast
Hotter than the sun on arrival due to heating being all the way up, bathroom was small and not the cleanest
The breakfast was good the location was great
It needed a deep clean and up dating
Location great - very close to station and centre
Funeral music at otherwise perfectly ok breakfast and room not touched in between - otherwise clean and in excellent location with personable host
The location, warmth, staff
Bed too soft
Excellent value and location. I always stay here when I'm in Hereford on business. Such helpful, nice people
Breakfast excellent and in time. Brilliant location.
Signage. Warning of tight turn on corner
The breakfast was perfect for me - I requested continental and coffee. The atmosphere was lovely, with calming music. Beautiful garden room.
Comfortable bed, quiet room.
Shower didn't get hot at all, WiFi was really poor. Bathroom tired.
Excellent breakfast
All fine
Staff were exceptional in their friendliness and helpfulness, facilities were excellent, definitely plan to stop there again
Host was pleasant and helpful
The hotel feels grubby and needs a general refresh in all departments. New Decor/carpets/bedding/shower/sink/toilet.
Room was very spacious and comfortable. It was a short walk to the centre of Hereford, with lots of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was also quite good.
Easy to find, parking provided, friendly staff. Was nice and quiet, would recommend for anyone visiting Hereford city.
Everything, I e stayed here now a few times. Everytime has been very good with a fantastic breakfast. 👌
Very pleasant to stay there.
Breakfast and welcome.
Signage poor and drove past it first time. Room a little tired.
Excellent breakfast. Pleasant gardens. Free parking. Comfortable bed. Nice room.
Being on top floor in our old age. Difficult to find the hotel as there was no sign on the busy road.
Great breakfast, fantastic location.
Nothing
Convenient location, reasonable price, helpful proprietor, easy off-road parking.
Road is route for emergency vehicles and was noisy until 9pm but road also makes it convenient location, so on balance not a big problem.
