Everything good
Great place
The front desk never answers the phone, the property is not well maintained and anyone can walk in with no restriction, it can be dangerous. I do not recommend this place.
The place has no security, the parking its outside the hotel just next to the highway and the is no one at the front desk after 7pm and they never answer the phone…horrible experience
We liked it so much last week we came back this week .
Good service and clean and safe grounds. Staff friendly and professional.
Food and drinks are good! Accommodations are very comfortable and perfect for our needs. Definitely recommend.
Everything was great
They need mosquito spray for guests. Great place
We stayed at The Halfway Inn for one night, and overall, it was a convenient and adequate stopover. The hotel is true to what other reviews describe; definitely old and outdated, but clean and quiet, which was really all we needed for a night’s rest. The room itself was a pleasant surprise: very spacious and spotlessly clean. It had a mini-split for climate control and a small TV with limited channels. However, there were some missing basics; no phone to call the front desk, no refrigerator, and the curtains couldn’t be opened. Still, for a single night, it served its purpose. The biggest downside was the customer service. The staff at check-in were extremely rude and unwelcoming, which set a poor tone right from the start. The lobby felt neglected (especially the window seals and the outdated bathroom), and the on-site restaurant/bar seemed understaffed with only one person handling everything. One plus: the location is very quiet and right next to the military base, which may be convenient for some travelers. In summary, if you’re just looking for a clean, quiet place to sleep for a night and don’t mind dated facilities or indifferent service, The Inn gets the job done. Just don’t expect much more than that.
Nice, clean place. Staff was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay.
There's is mold in all rooms, she send me to a different room and it also had mold ,she said all rooms are the same,so I ask to refund my money and cancel my reservation. Just waiting for your response, thank you.
It’s right next to military facility therefore very safe!
The staff was very nice and friendly as always!!
Is ok
“Pet area“ needs some attention
Fantastic grounds, room, restaurant & bar!!!
Staff was so friendly! We arrived after a long drive from California and check in was quick and warm. English Friendly!
We loved the "old world flair" of this property - it is about 50 years old, but is very charming... the uneven wooden floor as you walk from the entrance to the reception desk and beyond.... the HUGE reception/dining/bar area with high ceilings and artistic adornments throughout. VERY large rooms with A/C, tv, WiFi and small refrigerator. The rooms are positioned around a central exterior courtyard that is filled with flora, stepping stones and shells around the trees - just delightful! A small table & chair is located outside each room so that you can sit and gaze around the courtyard. The dining area has very large glass windows if you prefer to sit INSIDE, and gaze out - delightful stay, with very responsive staff.
Always a comfortable stay at the Halfway Inn. Everyone is so nice, parking is very safe and convenient and the rooms are clean and nice. Highly recommend!
Nothing fancy. A good place half way between Cabo and the border to stop for the night. Staff is very helpful and friendly.
Staff was great. Especially the man that was the desk clerk, bartender, waiter, chef and anything else you need!
A great stay! Safe and clean. Property shows it’s age, but is a good bargain
all good
Big rooms, clean, has a restaurant
Excellent!
Familiarity. I have stayed there before and will do so in the future
We love this place
It was an absolute disappointment. It was a very bad experience. The food doesn’t match the menu and overpriced. The room was very cold, the bed was shaky, the mattress dirty and the bed linen was of an uncertain color.
This is an awesome hotel, but it is a bit old. We certainly could have used more outlets in the room, however, everything was comfortable and clean. Loved the staff.
Interesting town in a desert by the ocean! Hotel is fascinating. Designed by the renowned Mexican architect Luis Barragán and maintained in. 70s style. Comfortable, airy..
Quiet spot just outside of town. Comfortable with a restaurant on premises. Convenient to whale watching tours. The hotel is at the halfway point of the Baja peninsula. Friendly staff.
Me cobraron en el hotel y ya me habían cargado el monto a mi tarjeta hice un reporte a hoteles.com y hasta ahorita no me han contestado
A quaint property on the outskirts of town. I would consider it very safe since there's a military station on the other side of the road. :) Bartender/waiter is great. Food is good. One minor irritation is a lack of plugs in the room. Bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in on this trip.
The hotel says "pets welcome" but they do not mention that they only accept one pet per room, and that they also only accept dogs. We were told no cats. If you are traveling with any other type of pet, or more than one pet, this is not the hotel for you.
Great people to deal with. Room was very good as was the on site restaurant. Highly recommend it
Enjoyed the stay food was good
Excellent hotel with great service. Dont expect internet or TV to work, did not work for 2 days.
Perfect spot
Great, place to stay convenient helpful staff
Always a pleasure to arrive at this hotel for a good nights sleep after a long day driving.
It was clean
Had a very nice evening. Very quiet and wonderful staff.
Great spot to stop while traveling through Baja. At first glabce I wasn't sure I was at the right place. But once I entered I was greeted by friendly staff and clean property. Good food at the restaurant and the bar was good with a waiter/bartender who worked his butt off while always keeping a smile on his face. It got quite busy. Thank you for the unexpected treat of a stop. Dave
One night stay on a road trip through Baja. Hotel was adorable & very clean. The room was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. We didn’t eat in the restaurant, but ate at nearby Mario’s and highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again
A rather nice place to stay, all in all. Truly halfway, out on the highway but quiet. A nice facility, a bit worn out but a nice restaurant and bartender. We ate two nice meals there.
Nice place, clean room
Good parking for trailer and dining room service excellent. Very reasonable prices $10 chicken dinner $15 garlic shrimp meal all very tasty. Comfortable rooms and clean
Everything is like what is described, the bar/restaurant gentleman was great.
We stay here every time we drive down Baja. It’s familiar, quiet, safe with a nice restaurant and bar.
Bed sheets were not clean. Room was full of mosquitoes and fly's. Bathroom was not well kept.
Never stated at Halfway before. Good beds and a good nights sleep. The staff were so accommodating and the restaurant there made things easy after a long drive and another to come.
Was a great stop on our drive
Hot shower.
Great place to stay, bar makes good drinks, friendly staff and easy parking.
Everything was good
Very old furniture. Needed to ask for pillows. No soap!
Convenient stop along the route south to Baja.
I have stayed at the halfway inn a number of times. With highway 5 being paved the entire way this really is a one day drive to/ from home for southern California, making a drive to Loreto, La Paz, or Los Cabos an easy two day trek. The hotel is very safe for guests and their vehicles, you are surrounded by the military base. The restaurant and bar are good and a good value. I usually stay here in winter for the grey whales. On this trip I met a few families from Ensenada who had come down to escape the heat, the town must have a microclimate as the temperature was in only in the 70s in July when other spots to the north and south were over 90 degrees. Suggestions- spread out the booked rooms... the hotel was not crowded yet they put all the guest in rooms right next to each other. Also, you need to ask for the AC remote on check-in. It was not hot but still it would have been nice to be able to turn on the air at a certain point in the night.
Second stay. Very convenient and easy parking.
Friendly staff
Worst hotel stay ever. Window rattlingloud music until 2 am in the morning . Will never stay there again !
We’ve stayed here before the place is clean. The rooms are comfortable. The food is decent. The staff is wonderful their dog friendly they watch your stuff at night. They have a guard it’s a great place.
Great place for the price. Clean but could use some updating.
The restaurant and bar are great. The food was very affordable and service great. The accomodations were okay for a $40 USD that it used to cost. I usually book direct with them and always pay cash in pesos. So the $80 USD was a little much for no hot water in the shower; no hot water in the sink; and 3 tv channels all in Spanish.
Haifway is the perfect spot 1/2 down the Baja! Nothing fancy but clean and staff is amazing Manny is a great host at the bar and make an amazing Margarita!! See you on the way back
Very Comfortable, Clean, and Pet Friendly! Staff very accommodating. Reasonably priced!
After a long day of driving it was nice to find a comfortable place with easy check in and a room that was clean and a nice size. The staff was very helpful and nice and the food was pretty good too.
This hotel was a nice place to stay even it is far from the town, but convenient to continue traveling.
Clean with safe parking nothing better in the area
Great stopover! Place is kept clean and tidy for the most part. Would be nice to have end tables both with lamps for better light when in bed. Very quiet since it's off the main road. Would recommend and certainly will stay there again on our return trip from Loreto.
Great hotel!
As motels go the Hallway Inn is in the same condition as most. Upkeep is not necessarily a priority but it’s reasonably clean and the food is good.
Handy access, very clean, and a great staff! One of the best Hotels we’ve stayed in on a very long trip! Very Pet friendly, restaurant staff great and a good variety on the Menu! Will definitely stay here again!
Very convenient for traveling the Baja. Great Piñia Colata
This hotel is a convenient and reliable stop on our drive from California to Los Barriles BCS. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is good.
The grounds, the staff and the food was very good. My husband would have like to have the tv.
Great parking, clean rooms
Very convenient off the highway. Staff was great. Margs very tasty and food was wonderful
The best thing was the bed was to die for. Incredibly comfortable. The bell staff was outstanding. Dominique was wonderful. Manuel, the General Manager was great. The windows were a little tired and did not work well. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink, only in the shower. Wr had to go to the front desk to get the controller for the air conditioner. And the remote did not always work. All the lights did not work.
We will absolutely stay here again on our return trip back to Canada from La Paz. Large rooms, clean, safe, good warm shower with decent water pressure and dog friendly. Nothing fancy but it checks all the boxes. We didn’t have a chance to try the restaurant on site, but we will on our return trip. There are a couple of patches of grass outside the hotel and a very large parking lot where we walked our dog. We only saw two small puggles at the south end of the parking lot, but no other unleashed or street dogs which is important to us as we have a very dog reactive rescue dog.
Conveniently located on the highway halfway to Cabo San Lucas. In house restaurant and lounge and a unique hotel design with iinside courtyard.
This property is majestic. It has a large open lobby with a bar and a restaurant. It has a central garden with tables. The rooms are set in the Spanish style off of the garden. The rooms are large and nicely appointed with a small refrigerator and a coffee maker with lovely tile floors. There is an air conditioner and heater in a fan and some examples of Mexican glasswork .
Great
all good with service and food
Nice property
Is clean reliable place to stay and is pet friendly
Hotel from 1973 and needs renovation urgently. Parking is ok, food is very good.
Very convenient, clean, great parking, good food, pet friendly and nice bar. Loved the shower. Our favorite place to stay when traveling between our home in CA and Mulegé.
We stay here several days a year and have always found it to be fine. However, this time the bed spread in our room was a mattress pad. That is disgusting.
Stayed here many times " halfway" down the Baja. No issues. Simple. Nothing fancy. A great respite after a longbdrive
Clean, quiet, good eats in restaurant. Nothing fancy but more than does the trick. I’ll continue to come back during my Baja drives.
A nice, safe stop on our drive through the Baja peninsula. Staff are very hospitable and food is decent. Rooms are clean, though beds could be more comfortable.
Wonderful service, convenient property for traveling. Pet friendly. Bar and Restaurant. Very affordable.
This hotel is 50 years old, the service is great, rooms cleaned the food also was good, but the hotel needs a HUGE remodeling, the bathrooms in the reception area, ceiling, lights, fans
Good place to spend the night and continue driving, the room felt dusty but was comfortable,
The facilities met our expectations for the price, they are pet friendly without added fees, and the stay was perfectly acceptable. It does not look like they have done a lot of property maintenance in the last few years.
Beautiful place. Fabulous staff. Like being in a Wes Anderson film. The best hotel in Baja.
The single room is huge. The whole hotel is fairly large. And a ton of hot water the bed with memory, foam, and very soft. I enjoyed it immensely after having a couple of very firm beds. The bed had to be a California king. The only downsides were the towels were a little frayed but because they were so used they were incredibly soft and there was no pool. There was a restaurant, and the food was reasonable and good.
Wonderfully friendly staff. Beautiful clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds, remodeled bathrooms, refrigerator, coffee maker, TV, heating and cooling. Bar and Restaurant for dining convenience.
