Super 8 by Wyndham Amherst NS

Good location for either visiting Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island. All the facilities you could need, decent self-serve buffet breakfast.

The pillows were very odd, big think square? It would have been nice to have some proper cutlery as breakfast, hard to do anything with a small flimsy plastic knife and fork.

Staff was friendly and helped me navigate the breakfast area and waffle maker. Handicap bathroom was large and the seat in the tub allowed my wife to have her first full shower on the trip.

I would have liked to have a restaurant to have dinner in.

We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of this hotel. It seemed better than the average Super 8. Good location for exploring the Joggins Fossil Cliffs, which is why we were there.

Entering the room, an unpleasant odour awaits you. The breakfast could be substantially improved.

Boys wanted a pool...great for smaller children. Breakfast was great.. receptionist at check in was amazingly attentive

Found a bag of moldy bread in drawer under the TV and black hair on wall above the shampoo in the shower. Tub/shower was a stained kind of brownish color.

No English tea all fancy teas hot food was just one item.

Free parking. Free wifi. Beds comfortable and decent shower.

Booked 10 months before my stay, 2 rooms, same booking, one for a friend. Asked for a quiet room at that time. Arrived to find the two rooms were on separate floors, and our room was overlooking the highway. When I reminded them, politely, of my request I was offered instead an alternative of a room sharing a wall with the elevator. ‘Nothing else available’. Breakfast was dismal — supposedly from 6:30 to 9:30 but on both mornings we were there they kept running out of food. Consisted of boiled eggs and slices of ham in terms of hot options. A few oranges and apples and cereal. On both mornings our celiac friend asked for gluten free toast… the 2nd morning she was told they didn’t have any. Eventually they found some. Children noisily running all over breakfast room one morning and no attempts on part of staff to address that or evidence that they asked the parents to do so. Air conditioner in room was loud.

Friendly staff were very accommodating. The pool is AWESOME!! Room was clean.

Well they say they will change the bedding every 3 days we qere there 10 days and they did not change the beds. I requested twice and it did not get done

The carpeted floors on 3rd floor were not vacuumed the duration of our stay

The staff were local and had all knowledge of the history of the area.

We loved our stay, and return here every year on our travels.

Nous avons pris une suite et nous étions 4 adultes. Le divan-lit était vraiment vieux et très inconfortable (on sentait beaucoup les ressorts et l’enfoncement du matelas). . Cela est malheureusement inadmissible de faire payer les gens pour dormir dans un matelas comme celui-ci. L’air climatisée faisait beaucoup de bruit. Petit détail, qui n’est pas grave, il n’y avait pas de shampoing.

Good choices at breakfast for children and adults .... kids loved the pool and slide.

for a family room it was a little cramped with very little place to sit I seem to recall in previous years the family room being on the top floor with a couch also in the room, this was very small for the 4 of us

Great staff. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast bar was fantastic. Pool looked great but I didn't get to use it. Overall great value.

The elevator made a very strange noise every time it took us to the second floor. Suggest telling customers. Was a bit unsettling first time

Pool Room

The location is very convenient for a road trip, just next to the highway. The staff was kind and friendly.

There was a bit weird smell, which is a bit difficult to describe.

Because, I am celiac, there was limited breakfast available for me. I asked the staff, to please check the ingredients listed on the sausage and she said that she had no packaging. We did like the size of the rooms.

I wasn't there for a long period of time, in my room and did not go to the pool. It was a comfortable place to lay my head down at the end of a busy work day.

The staff is very nice and helpful.

The extra blanket was smelly and needed to be washed. The couch was obviously filthy. There were many stains on it and it too needed to be cleaned. Same situations in my friend's room. The kitchen was ok but I do not understand why they let customers walk bare feet in a public kitchen where there is food. That is very unsanitary.

Das Hotel liegt unweit einer Schnellstraße am Rande eines Gewerbegebiets. Mein Zimmer ging nach hinten mit Blick auf Baumbestand. Es war dort recht ruhig.

Eine bessere Beleuchtung etwa von der Decke her wäre angenehm gewesen. Die Rezeption macht einen unordentlichen Eindruck. Das Frühstück ist recht einfach.

Pool was used for locals so it was overcrowded during the day for hotel guests.

The staff was great, very friendly. I was upset when we went down for breakfast at 8:30 and there wasn't much left. The only eggs they had was boiled egg sitting in hot water in a crock pot. There was only pork links, but there was an empty tray, I am not sure what was in there. I thought they would refill something, but they didn't.

Location. Bed was comfy

Old. Furniture Outdated. Bathroom small. 2 lights did no work. Noisy. Could clearly hear people talking upstairs and next door

Clean inside and out, nice room ( jr suite ) clean and beds very very comfortable. Great nights sleep even with the kids sport teams staying for the weekend.

There’s really nothing I could say that I didn’t like.

We arrived for check in, even though I tried to check in the big hot before. They asked for any special requests which I did but they did not happen. There were no wine glasses or corkscrews in the room. I had to go to the desk to ask. We had a room with the jacuzzi tub which was great but not he bunk beds did not have all the sheets on them. The top sheet was under the pillow so my grandson slept with an extra blanket. The pool is awesome for the kids. They don’t even carry carbonated water either in the kitchen or the machines. The continental breakfast was chaos. Everyone trying to get things at the same time.

The staff are wonderful. Always smiling friendly willing to help with whatever you need. Beds are comfortable and everything is clean and welcoming!

Das Zimmer war sehr grosszügig geschnitten und mit komfortablen Betten ausgestattet. Es war sauber und gepflegt.

Leider war die Frühstücksecke im Hotel sehr begrenzt und hat nicht allen Hotelgästen Platz geboten, um im Sitzen zu frühstücken.

Etagenbetten waren nicht gemacht, das Zimmer wurde doppelt berechnet, Pool ist zu klein zum schwimmen, Verletzungsgefahr bei der Rutsche, sehr hellhörig, nachts sehr laut: Autotüren/-hupen, Zug, Schnellstraße direkt nebenan. Das war leider nichts. ☹
