Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Swift Current by IHG

I liked the staff, the rooms, and the pool.

I didn't like the price. Booking.com quoted me a cheaper price than the room actually was. I ended up paying 50.00 more.

Our bed sheet had Blood Stains! We should have been properly compensated

The POOL & HOTTUB! The room was newly updated and very clean The continental breakfast was great and the restaurant portion was newly renovated as well.

The location was good, the people, very good, however the breakfast was not even worth eating, the food was barely half cooked and terrible quality, noted as a free breakfast, but we all know cost of the room covers this feature, please provide food that is worth eating.

The smell of the room when I first entered it. Many of the hotels have worker crews stay in them during the week and feel it smelled like feet that had had a hard day.

The breakfast was very good with lots of options. I would like to suggest that continuing to use disposable cutlery and plates takes a massive toll on the environment and is not pleasant for guests.

The staff we met were very friendly and kind, both at the front desk and in the dining room. The room was great except the pillows, whether the soft voice or the firm choice, ended up somehow being hard in the centre, making it difficult to sleep. The room is also hard to get to darkness for sleeping as there was a two inch gap under the door. I had to use extra pillows on the floor to close that gap. Also, there are coloured light s from the thermostat that incredibly, light up the room. I had to fashion a way to cover the thermostat with a dark clothing item in order to get the room dark enough to sleep. When it comes right down to it, sleeping is THE MOST IMPORTANT PART of staying in a hotel. it would be great if the room was set up ideally for that. One last thing; we forgot a case of beer in the fridge. Not a big deal but there were only 2 beers out of the case so since we were still in town, we went back for it. The staff couldn't find it in the room or in storage or in lost and found. The cleaner was done for the day and couldn't be reached on their phone. I left my card and asked to be contacted after they spoke to the room cleaner. I said we were travelling back through and could return to pick it up. We never heard a thing from the hotel. That was not cool. Clearly, the cleaner took the beer home, assuming we would not be back and no-one would be the wiser. They may have even thought we didn't want it. However, we all know that it is protocol for any lost and found item to be kept for guests. This was a matter of a two hour window, when we returned for this item. And the hotel never got back to us. Very disappointing. I worked for Holiday Inn London years ago as a front desk clerk and concierge. I know this is not the proper way to handle this. I'm really, really surprised and disappointed.

Location, cleanliness, beds.

Breakfast buffet was very good. Our king room was comfortable and of a nice size. . The fan on the thermostat was good.

Checking in was not a good experience. The desk clerk had a lot of problems finding the right room and name. She gave me a sign in sheet with someone else’s name on it. Also, the room was stuffy and had a strange smell. There had been some patching done on a door. Maybe the patching material was what the weird smell was. The window only opened a few inches.

Given a room on the second floor over the pool with screaming kids and families. Kids running in the hallways above us. Breakfast sausage was not edible nor was the eggs. The quality all in all has gone down.

I booked a suit , day before I arrived I received a call and was told I would not be able to have a suit, only received a room with two queen beds. Was told there was no refund or other option but to accept the two queen bed room.

Room 401 Darius greeted us with a beautiful smile. Made our day so much better after a long drive.  Hotel is easy to find and close to restaurants and stores. Always an easy check in experience and Darius is at the top of my favorite list. Room was very clean and well stocked. Quiet and dark.  Bed and linens very comfortable. Bathroom well stocked and great towels. IHG always reliable for good quality at a good price. Breakfast is typical free IHG goodness. Dining area very clean and well set up. Check up just as pleasant and seamless as check in.

Love the personal contact about how I liked my room, my comfort, etc. The staff was amazing!

Cleaning of my room was a little lax. One day didn't replace empty toilet roll another didn't deal with dirty towel, never emptied my recycle bin.

There was a big group of young baseball players that were exceptionally loud and rowdy. It would have been nice if the staff had come in to settle that down.

Air conditioner unit was noisy and seemed to cut out after a certain amount of time. This could have been user error. We did not report it.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE !! Came from out of town booked a 2 day stay NO HOT WATER ! Both nights. Was supposed to be fixed the first day while we were out and wasn’t !!!! We were not even offered another room and ignored when calling the front desk. Breakfast sucked and they stand watching everything you take Tried getting a refund or SOMETHING but NO basically told to go pound sand. Third world sh**Not even a Canadian company. DO NOT STAY HERE ALSO HAD BLACK HAIR IN MY TUB. Makes sense because if they would’ve cleaned the tub they would’ve known there was no hot water.

Heat wouldn't turn off, temperature was at 77° and climbing. Had to change rooms at 1:45 am, put in a smaller room, still charged full price of larger rom.

My admin assistant made a reservation using the IHG mobile phone App on October 2, 2025 for a stay at the Holiday Inn Swift Current December 12-14, 2025. I received my confirmation e-mail from holidayinnexpress@tx.ihg.com as I normally do. It confirmed I booked a 2 King suite and it said the reservation was cancellable until December 10,2025. I was reviewing my electronic calendar and the IHG app to confirm my business travel for the next two weeks. I was shocked to see that my room was downgraded to a two queen standard and the rate was unchanged. In addition, the cancellation policy on this room had been changed to non refundable. “Cancellation will result in a charge. A deposit for the entire stay is due at time of booking “. I called the hotel and the front desk supervisor (Darius) couldn’t explain what happened but said he would talk to general manager and call me back. Three days went by and no return call. I called again today and talked to the sales manager. He advised that the central head office reservation network app booked the reservation. He said the employees at the Holiday Inn in Swift Current reviewed the booking and determined that the room was larger than the room they provide in the rate category for which it was booked. As a result, they downgraded the room. He acknowledged that I had not been notified about the change. He did not know why the cancellation policy was changed to non-refundable. He did offer to honour the room type for this time but I asked him to cancel the reservation. I refuse to do business with a company that does this without notifying the customer. He did cancel my reservation. I stay in hotels on business about 100 nights per year. This is a first for me. In my opinion, when a hotel send you the confirmation email it is a contract to provide that room type at the quoted rate. Conversely, if I booked a room and I don’t show up I am bound by that contract and I am charged the quoted rate. If you book a room at this hotel using the central reservation system, be very careful because you may not get what you booked.

Pool should be open later not closed at 10 pm. House cleaning should not be banging obnoxiously on the door waking you up prior to checkout. Would not print receipt due to using booking.com

Staff very welcoming. The room had a fridge with a little freezer in it. They have a guest laundry! I wish all hotels had that.

Clean room and layout was good. Ventilation system wouldn’t work so I had to keep the window open. Breakfast opened late for me as I was on the road by 6:30

Hallway outside pool area is very dirty. Understand there was a large group of students staying the night before. I would think it gets cleaned up by the morning crew.

This property is in a fantastic location, close to everything and adjacent to the casino, which was fun. The breakfast at Holiday Inn Express never disappoints, and always has lots of variety. The friendly staff is wonderful and seemed to go out of their way to assist with anything.

The floor in the breakfast area could use a good cleaning. Could use a TV guide on paper so you could easily find channels.

Very clean and had friendly staff. I paid a little extra (compared to others in the area) to stay here because I wanted to use the hot tub after a long day of driving. It wasn't hot. Not even warm. I was really disappointed that there also was not hot water to shower... it was barely warm and was the same in the morning as the evening before.

Good location, the room was 76 degrees and windows open when we checked in and the A/C unit wasn’t working. In the morning the cleaning staff woke us up twice before checkout time trying to get in to clean the room.

Very clean as soon as you entered the lobby. Good room nice and clean and super cool air conditioning. Stayed on the way to Calgary to break up the trip. Liked it so much decided to rebook on our way home as we were gonna check out cypress hills Will stay there again

According to the friendly and effiicient front desk staff, this hotel has recently been completely refurbished. I can well imagine this to be true as it was immaculate and modern throughout. My room was large, very clean, and equipped with a microwave, fridge and coffee machine. Altough it was just a hundred metres or so from the highway, there was no traffic noise. Breakfast was the usual hot and cold buffet. There was plenty of parking space.

Plenty of dining options nearby, the hotel is right beside the casino for those that like to gamble or just check out the facility. The mall is down the road if you need to pickup swimming gear, just in case you forgot to pack one. Nice of view of the rolling hills.

Our dog was accepted so at a fee so that was great however we were not given the room we booked and prepaid for. We did notify at booking regarding dog and were not told we would be getting a different room. Breakfast was not great but acceptable.

Updated, clean and very helpful reception

The shower was broken, badly broken in an obvious way but we didn't notice till morning. They responded quick to fix it after we checked out. I won't fault the response but it should have been seen during cleaning. Breakfast was ok, nothing special and pretty much average compared to anywhere else. At the time of our booking this was the most expensive room in Swift Current. We could have gotten the same at the cheapest.
