Sabah Hotel

La piscina llena de niños que no te permitía relajarte, era como si se accediera a la piscina sin necesidad de estar alojado. Igualmente en el comedor que no te dejan cenar excepto en la zona piscina bajo la lluvia, cuando se lo dices al personal se ríen de ti en tu cara y les da exactamente igual.

Tuvo su belleza quizás hace 20/30 años, ahora es un anticuado hotel, sucio, con personal grosero que te hace sentir mal en todo momento. No volvería nunca más a este hotel.

It had a great pool

It could be a beautiful resort but it us outdated and the breakfast buffet was simple.

Lovely property with a great pool and friendly staff.

It’s approximately 2km away from the city. Less than 5 minutes and 6MYR in a Grab.

Kamer is ruim. Zwembad is heerlijk! En het eten in het restaurant was top.

Abbiamo dormito solo una notte. Posizione strategica vicino all’aeroporto di Sandakan; si può raggiungere con l centro anche a piedi (15 min.) e comodissima per raggiungere il molo dove partono le escursione per Turtle Island. Camera e bagno ampie e pulite. Piscina esterna ok anche se non siamo riusciti ad utilizzarla. Abbiamo cenato al Bistrot interno molto bene e a prezzi contenuti. Colazione ok anche se più portate salate che non dolci (d’altronde siamo solo noi italiani che amiamo i dolci 😂).

Swiming pool very friendly to children.The breakfast so yummy!!!

Ruime schone kamer. Eenvoudig ontbijt, maar prima. Bedden prima, maar voor mij nog steeds wel wat hard. Prima ligging tov vliegveld en Sandakan centrum en Sandakan jetty point/haven. Wij hebben het gebruikt als overnachtingsplek de dag voor een tour naar Turtle Island en Kinabatangan river. De haven van waar we vertrokken lag op 15 mins afstand. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk. Drankje besteld aan de bar en werd aangeboden om het naar de kamer te brengen. Geen gebruik gemaakt van het zwembad, maar zag er wel mooi uit.

Eigenlijk viel niks tegen. Is een zeer betaalbare optie voor de geboden luxe. In plaats van 1 super grote handdoek en 1 mini handdoek, zou een handdoek voor het hoofd erg fijn zijn voor dames die lang haar hebben.

Wir hatten eines der größeren Zimmer mit Balkon, welches wirklich schön war. Der Pool war fantastisch. Dahinter geht es gleich in den Regenwald. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Essen war unterschiedlich, manches richtig gut, manches ok.

Das Geschirr am Pool wurde nicht abgeräumt.

Very clean and comfortable hotel with the added bonus of a pool. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was good, beds were extremely comfortable, hotel was clean and our stay was good value for money.

We found absolutely nothing to complain about.This hotel is fantastic!Everything was clean and beautifully arranged and nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful staff.The swimming pool and grounds are a dream come true offering a peaceful and tranquil environment to relax and enjoy.The food was top quality from the restaurant and always served with a smile.All in all a full 10 out of 10 from us .Thank you Sabah Hotel for the 5 nights we stayed 👍

Rooms a little tired and duvets under covers had some marks. I didn’t look further as didn’t want to know! Bed was comfortable

Air conditioning in room didn't really work that well, but as we were only staying one night we didn't bring this up with the hotel, it may have been rectified if we were staying longer.

Très bel hôtel, chambre très grande, propre et confortable. La piscine est très grande et super agréable. Le personnel de l’hôtel est accueillant.

Ho apprezzato molto l’atmosfera di questo hotel: si percepisce davvero l’aria tropicale della foresta, che rende il soggiorno piacevole e suggestivo. Anche la struttura, tipica del luogo, contribuisce a creare un’esperienza autentica e immersiva. Un posto che consiglio a chi cerca tranquillità e un contatto più diretto con la natura.

i bagni erano abbastanza sporchi e si sentiva un forte odore di umido. Probabilmente è anche una conseguenza della posizione e del clima della zona, ma sarebbe comunque positivo prestare maggiore attenzione alla pulizia e alla manutenzione.

Bonne surprise pour notre séjour à Sandakan. La chambre était confortable et très propre, et le personnel hospitalier et agréable. Les jus pressés et cocktails son incroyable Le gros coup de cœur de l’hôtel reste clairement la piscine, qui est vraiment top ! Elle est grande, avec une partie profonde, un petit bassin pour les plus petits, un jacuzzi et même une cascade d’eau. Entre nos visites, c’était vraiment agréable de pouvoir se poser un moment au bord de la piscine, avec la possibilité de prendre une boisson ou de commander des fruits frais directement sur place. Le petit déjeuner est bien, avec un bon choix. Nous avons également dîné au restaurant de l’hôtel et nous avons beaucoup apprécié. Seul petit bémol : les pizzas ne sont clairement pas leur spécialité 😅 Au final, un hôtel très agréable, particulièrement adapté à une famille, où nous avons apprécié pouvoir faire une vraie pause entre deux journées de visites. Nous y retournerions volontiers lors d’un prochain passage à Sandakan.

We stayed in a suite with a balcony that looked over the pool and jungle canopy. The facilities were top class and staff friendly and helpful. We recommend the Sabah Hotel.

A good base when we arrived in Sabah.

Lack of sachets of milk in the room fridge.

A lovely relaxed holiday atmosphere. Ours kids were in a room opposite rather than adjoining and this felt very comfortable here. The hotel has a great pool for families plus extras such as table tennis.

Nice and quiet location up in the hills. Good for family’s with kids to enjoy the pool. Rooms were really bright and clean and spacious and the staff were all really lovely.

Public spaces all a bit tired and dated and the exterior in need of a repaint. The gym was big and well equipped but the equipment was old fashioned.

Is outdated, pool and loungers need update. Bedroom very basic

Location was good and was great base before and after the river safari. Room was big and clean. No view to speak of on second stay (overlooking solar panels, first stay overlooked the pool). We were able to store our luggage until we returned from 2 nights in the rain forest which was really helpful. Good pool with lots of sun beds. Restaurant was good and lots of options for breakfast. Be aware that you are unable to drink any alcohol with dinner as the restaurant is halal - alcohol can be taken in the lobby and around the pool but not in the restaurant itself.

Great hotel, nice staff, nice rooms, green view and an amazing pool! The kids absolutely lost it and would have stayed in the pool all day if they would have had the chance! Breakfast was nice, good buffet with both Western and Asian options. The hotel has two restaurants, both were nice and not extremely expensive. I would book this hotel again :)

It was quite close to the city center, but the hotel is off the main road that’s really busy and no shops and restaurants next door. But only 1,5km walk to town.

Was great to spoil ourselves with a little bit of luxury after our stay on the river. Loved everything about this hotel from the food in the restaurant, both dinner and breakfast, location is easily accessible to the town, airport and any other attractions and we especially loved relaxing by the pool.

Het zwembad was lekker, het eten smaakte goed maar de prijzen waren wel hoog. Er werd ons een goede taxichauffeur aangeraden om tours te doen.

De prijzen waren hoog, voor de laundryservice helemaal.

We enjoyed our two night stay in Sabah Hotel and wished we could have stayed longer! The staff was welcoming and kind. Our room was spacious and clean. We tried both restaurants there and the food was delicious! The hotel is located at a walking distance of Sandakan old town.

We could hear our room neighbors chatting at night.

The rooms very spacious and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The pool was fabulous, we all loved it. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nothing we didn’t really like. The rooms were quite business like and the hotel sits on its own so need a Grab to the town, but it was all good. Pool needed more beds with shade.

I think it has a great pool for kids and good food, rooms are big.

It’s dated, maybe lacks some maintainable and updating of the furniture. Pool towels smell humid.

The pool area was fantastic. Kids loved it especially the water slide.

The food is average. Breakfast was good. Lunch and dinner menus are limited with lots of fried food.

Great staff! Wonderful pool! Good breakfast! Some of the other reviews seem to undersell this place. It’s not a super modern day hotel but they’ve made some modest improvements and the hotel is a great option comparatively to others in the area.

It was pricier than other options.

Hotel ma już swoje lata, ale nadal jest w porządku, obsługa bardzo fajna, miła, uprzejma, pomocna, ręczniki czyste, pokój czysty. Basen klimatyczny wśród palm. Jedzenie smaczne.

Mieliśmy pokój z balkonem, minus za czystość na balkonie. Obsługa powinna reagować i zakazać jedzenia i picia w basenie, byliśmy w hotelu 5 dni, i wszystko było super, niestety ostatniego dnia przyjechało do hotelu stado dzikich australijczykow (nie mylić z aborygenami), brudni wchodzili do basenu, jedli i pili w basenie, nie mówiąc ze nie wychodzili w ogóle z niego .... nasze dziecko z tego powodu sie pochorowało i załapało baterię E. Coli, więc podróż do Semporny mielismy koszmarną.

No fresh cooked eggs/omlete/pancakes for breakfast. No veges for dinner was mainly meat. Toilet kept filling with water. They came to check it and said to hold button down longer but didn't make much difference

I have booked this place on school holiday so my kids can play at the pool, they provide towel at the pool. The breakfast was good. The stay was never enough. Next time i want to do sauna and gym too

One of the lift not really fuction this time. What if someone stuck in there, it must be scary.

Breakfast was not amazing but did have a great egg station. It’s not walking distance to anything.

We arrived a day early so booked extra night. They gave us a room upgrade. The room large comfortable clean . Bed comfy, bathroom excellent. Good selection of toiletries. Breakfast nice and plentiful. We occasionally ate in hotel and the Saturday night buffet is the best meal we had in Borneo!! Swimming pool large great for proper swimming. Gym decent, have all you need including concept rower. Location is good as well, local grab taxis quick and cheap. Great stay

Junior suite room at corner of building facing the pool, the room size is also optimal.

Junior suite air conditioner cools only one side of the room. The side next to balcony is not cool enough. Air conditioner is also noisy for sleeping

Die Zimmer sind etwas überholungsbedütftig, wie das ganze Haus. Das Essen war nicht besonders, das Frühstück unteres Mittelmaß und der Service weniger aufmerksam (aber freundlich).
