The team was marvellous! And the property gorgeous. Delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner, served in the best surroundings to suit the climate of the day. Cosy fire at night, sunny verandah at lunchtime, and beautiful breakfast dining room on chilly mornings.

Nice colonial style with potential

Air conditioning (the heating) didn’t work, it took several attempts to get the staff to move us. Not happy 😡

Oasis in the heart of Oudtshoorn - services was excellent - the staff warm and welcoming - property grounds stunning and very well maintained - dinner was wonderful and pre-dinner drinks by the fire in an beautifully decorated house such a treat! Will definitely be back!

Wir besuchen den Rosenhof seit vielen Jahren und machen wegen des Rosenhofs einen Umweg, nur um das Hotel zu besuchen. Die liebenswerte Atmosphäre, die luxuriöse Zimmerausstattung und die freundlichen Mitarbeiter machen den Besuch jedesmal zum Erlebnis.

During our six day tour of the Garden Route, the Rosenhof certainly got the value for money prize. With a 'colonial' vibe to the the property, it was clean, comfortable with spacious well equipped rooms and a delightful team of staff. The evening meal was excellent.

Schöne klassische un vollständige Einrichtung in kolonialem Stil in einem sicheren, perfekt gepflegtem Areal. Sehr freundlicher Empfang und Bedienung. Hervorragendes Essen. Ein willkommenes Highlight in diesem ansonsten etwas unaufregendem Ort. Perfekt, wenn man individuelle Unterkünfte gegenüber dem Rummel nahe dem Wildpark bevorzugt.

Die Einrichtung ist schön und prinzipiell in gutem Zustand. Manches, z. B. der Teppichboden, könnte eine Erneuerung oder zumindest eine Grundreinigung vertragen.

Ein sehr schönes kleines Hotel mit sehr zuvorkommenden Mitarbeitern. Abendessen in sehr schönen Räumlichkeiten oder auf einer der schönen Terrassen.

Super gemütliches kleines Hotel am Rande von Oudtshoorn. Tolles Frühstücksbuffet, herzliche Mitarbeiterinnen und tolle Gartenanlage. Nur um den Pool müsste man sich ein wenig mehr kümmern. Hier musste aktiv nach Handtüchern nachgefragt werden. Tagsüber ist der Pool von herabfallenden Früchten von Bäumen dann eher etwas "dreckig".

Außergewöhnlich gepflegte stilvolle Unterkunft. Hervorragendes Frühstück, das keine Wünsche übrig lässt. Sehr freundliches Personal. Einzig, der Trppichboden im Zimmer war etwas abgewohnt. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.Zimmereinrichtung außergewöhnlich geschmackvoll. Jedes Zimmer mit eigenem Farbkonzept.

Pool war nicht ganz sauber, Kissenauflagen am Pool mit Überzügen, die nicht nach jedem Gast gewechselt werden. Teppichboden im Zimmer etwas abgewohnt.

We, as older people ( in our late 60's) definitely think that the meal portion sizes for the main course are just too big. Although delicious, we could not finish it all....

Das Zimmer war sehr schön, auch die kleine Terrasse fürs Dinner. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und konnte ebenfalls outdoor genossen werden.

Der Pool war leider nicht sehr gepflegt. Es fehlte irgendwie an einer Führung im Haus.

Ein tolles Hotel, es hat einfach alles gepasst. Überaus freundliches Personal, tolle Zimmer, fantastische Anlage... Ein tolles Frühstück. Leider haben wir nur eine Nacht dort verbracht. Sollten wir nochmal nach Oudtshoorn kommen, dann wird auf jeden Fall ein längerer Aufenthalt eingeplant.

Absolutely nothing!

Breakfast was lovely - fresh fruit, variety and lovely sunny position. Great friendly staff. Beautiful gardens - nice to have labels for all the trees.

But for a 5 star hotel, it would be such a bonus to have proper barista cappuccinos at breakfast instead of what comes. Bathrooms are old and a little tatty. Chipped loo. Dinner - average meal and very pricey. The curry wasn't hot at all - more like a stew which was disappointing. The pappardelle ostrich - great homemade pasta but ostrich cut into huge chunks and completely overdone. Vegetables were partly frozen and presented in a bowl in water! Expensive for what we got - thought it would be much more high end. Perhaps get a chef who really knows what he's doing.

We only stayed here one night, but were so very impressed with this hotel and its exemplary service. The room was huge and beautifully decorated. When we arrived, I was told that the chef had prepared us a choice of vegan and vegetarian food for dinner - I had informed the hotel about our dietary requirements but this was beyond our expectations. Our meal was delicious and the service was excellent too. Breakfast consisted of a cold buffet and an extensive menu of hot food. Definitely recommend.

If I’m being really picky, it would be nice to have plug sockets by the bed.

Excellent breakfast, luxurious accommodation and delightful staff. One of the nicest boutique hotels we have stayed at in S. Africa. I can see why so many foreigners choose to stay there.

I think the word to describe Rosenhof is ‘stylish and serene’. Happy to have discovered this property in Oudtshoorn. I will now visit more often.

Beautiful gardens and very comfy beds. The food is good and the staff are friendly. The hotel has generator backup which is a must for me in case of load shedding

The overall ambience of the hotel was great and the bungalow with pool was very spacious, well designed and extremely comfortable. All the staff were excellent and the food first rate.

A beautiful boutique hotel with everything you would need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The gardens are beautiful and the decor furnishings in the hotel are really interesting. The food is also top-notch. Staff are caring and attentive.

Everything! Suite with pool was 11/10! Romantic, luxurious & one of the best places I’ve stayed. It was a special anniversary weekend & we didn’t even leave the hotel in 2 nights. Restaurant very good & breakfast was sublime! Absolutely first class.

What a fabulous find. Wonderful terrace and outdoor dining is superb. Staff incredible - old school and nothing is too much trouble. The food is first class and you will struggle to find better.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel and can highly recommend it. The staff were absolutely wonderful – very friendly and attentive. We also had the pleasure of chatting with the owners, who were incredibly kind and welcoming. The garden was beautifully designed, with lots of attention to detail. We especially appreciated the small signs identifying the different plants! We were also delighted to find roses in our room, a lovely and personal gesture that made our stay even more special. The food at the restaurant, both dinner and breakfast was excellent, and the service there was outstanding – the staff were super friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. It was great to sit in a pavilion outside in the morning. This hotel truly stands out for its attention to detail and warm hospitality. We will definitely come back and highly recommend it to others!

Room quality was outstanding. Furnishings and decor were exceptional. Outside areas were pleasant and very well maintained. The breakfast choice was extensive and good quality. The dining room was high quality.

The food quality at dinner was a disappointment. Having looking at the Rosenhof website we had high expectations but found the food somewhat bland and uninspiring. Perfectly well cooked but not at all interesting. The hotel had low occupancy during our stay and we did wonder if the regular chef may have been away.

A very quaint hotel. Incredibly welcoming and friendly staff. Great service. Lovely good.

The service

The service at Rosenhof Hotel was excellent, with attentive and accommodating staff. However, the rooms were outdated and very cold due to a gap between the floor and the door that let in cold air. The breakfast was basic and unremarkable. While the service was great, the room conditions and breakfast need improvement.

Room was very well appointed. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, always with a ready smile.

There was nothing to not like.

Best place to stay in Oudtshroon!! Will always return.
