Ticked all the boxes. Good value, clean, quiet, secure. Not expensive.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I had booked a single room for 3 nights at a surprisingly low cost, compared with other hotels on the west coast, and expected to see a tiny room with a narrow bed. However, the room turned out to be spacios, the bed was double and very comfortable, and it even had a little fridge. In the sitting room downstairs the guests can use a microwave, plates, glasses and cutlery - very thoughtful. The host Alan was very friendly and helpful. My room was ready by my arrival at 11 am (check-in time is 2 pm) and Alan handed me the keys straight away. Finally, the hotel is conveniently located between the seafront (6 mins) and the shopping street (8 mins).

We had a pleasant stay, the host were kind and friendly. Location was perfect for us for what was needed. Boscombe beach couple minutes walk, took about 35 minutes to walk to Bournemouth pier. The hotel itself was clean and tidy. May seem outdated but cleanliness is more important. No noise at night, beds very comfortable, room was very big. Tea and coffee plus kettle provided also a refrigerator in room. Overall a grey 2 nights stay, would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Shower curtain but that's my opinion, don't like them anywhere.

The location is fantastic easy reach of the beaches, shops and restaurants. The staff are very helpful and informative. No extra charge for our dogs always a winner.

Within easy walking distance from the beach. Lot's of local amenities nearby and the staff are very helpful if you need pointing in the right direction. The rooms are basic and you will have to sort your own breakfast out. But it's half the price of other hotels so that is really not a complaint An excellent place to act as a base camp while you go off and do other things

Perfect location for the Beach and Shops

The staff were amazing! Loved how they gave recommendations and took the time to care for their guests, just like it used to be. Fantastic location and great for parking.

Rough around the edges and in need of a little TLC. Very hot in the upstairs rooms and fan wasn’t enough to cool the room. Recommend using a better plug in cooling system.

Pam and Alan are truly wonderful proprietors. Friendly and welcoming, with lots of useful local knowledge to share and a way of making you feel at home as soon as you arrive. The hotel is not modern, but it is quiet, clean and comfortable, and in a location just a couple of minutes walk from Boscombe Pier and the lovely beach as well as a nice waterfront cafe and restaurant. Great value and had everything we needed for a perfect seaside weekend break.

Could have done with more toiletries, but I'm sure we could have had some if we asked!

the top room was rather hot but we stayed during the heatwave.

The hosts Alan and Pam and the rest of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The beach was 500 metres from the hotel and the shopping centre was nearby too which was very handy. At this hotel they had a mini fridge which was ideal in this hot weather so we could stock on water, drinks etc.

We stayed for 2nights. By the enter of the hotel is clean and smell fresh. It is Walking distance by beach and overlooking to the seaside.

The room was comfortable and perfect for our needs during our short stay. Coming and going was easy with a key to the hotel front door I would happily stay here again

Property felt homely, great spacious room, staff were excellent and always available. The lady we met during weekends was very sweet and helpful. Property is very close to beach so it made it easy for to us to go beach couple of times in a day.

Was super hot in room. I have fan in room but not helps in so hot days ,only this problem. My room was top floor and from roof and sunny hot days was absolutely terrible in room

Parking available on site at no extra cost , location so close to the beach , beautifully clean and a very comfortable bed , so quiet inside the hotel , I wouldn’t have known there were other guests , all staff members friendly and professional ..

Nice property located a few minutes from the sea front. Private parking a real bonus. Room was perfectly adequate for my needs, just a one night stay. Had kettle, tv and good WiFi. Fan provided in room as a very hot day. Certainly helped me sleep. Bed very comfortable.

Great hotel to stay in Boscombe! 15 min walk to Sainbury’s, 10 min walk to the beach, and 5 min walk to the bus station that takes you to the Bournemouth Pier. Both Allen and Pam were very nice and welcoming. My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at the Denewood Hotel 😊

No breakfast -I had not realised on booking my mistake. No air cooling system so too hot for us and the dog as it was a hot weekend.

Really close to the beach , beds were really comfy and it was nice and cool even during the heatwave . The owners were absolutely wonderful and so kind , it’s quite an outdated style but full of character and kept clean and tidy . Nothing was too much trouble and we felt truely welcomed . Local map of the area and a run down of local restaurants etc was a nice tough and really felt like we were staying with family rather than at a hotel . Thanks so much we will deffo be back next year 😊

This hotel is rich in history and character and the location is superb both for the beach and the centre of Boscombe. The staff were delightful and helpful. My measure of comfort in any place is the bed and the shower. Both were superb, the bed comfortable and the shower was fantastic and I could still be in it now. I wish my stay was longer. It will be next time. The location meant we did not have to drive anywhere to explore the location, beach, restaurants, parks, cafes, town, etc. Thoroughly enjoyable and can't wait to return. The owner was splendid with communication and we felt totally relaxed there. The hotel was beautiful and full of history of which the staff were happy to pass on stories... well done Denewood 👏 ❤️

Alan was an absolute delight; friendly and welcoming from the get go. He was able to suggest several places for dinner, drinks and breakfast nearby, and gave me thorough directions to where I needed to be that evening. As a new visitor to Bournemouth, I could not have asked for a finer introduction! The room was comfortable and clean, water pressure in the shower was excellent, and many measures had been taken to help take the edge off the heat.

The temperature of the second floor was insane and just a fan circulating hot air. Appreciate the heatwave can’t be helped but it was not possible to sleep at all as the room was insanely hot and had the sun until sunset. Floors below were considerably less hot

As others have said - Alan is a most helpful and engaging host; a thoroughly pleasant fellow. The hotel is well situated for the beach and promenade. Room was clean and quiet with a proper bathroom. I spent a lovely day exploring the coast on my folding bike and am looking forward to returning to the Denewood Hotel.

Great location close to the sea and the shops. The room had a mini fridge which was useful. It was a big room. The staff were friendly and helpful. It had a more traditional, personal feel than many hotels these days. The communal TV lounge with a microwave and plates was helpful and they let us use it and store our luggage after checking out. We didn't hear noise from other rooms.

Only a minor thing but it would've been useful to have a second chair in the bedroom so we could both sit at the desk. There were some quite narrow stairs up to the bedroom.

Pam was super lovely and very welcoming :-). There were treats for dogs provided and poop bags. Some sweets for kids. Bathroom and room itself were clean , there was a mini fridge and kettle in the room.

We have booked last minute , so I did not read the negative reviews prior booking. There was no AC in the room , only a fun and we were on the top floor , so it was impossible to sleep due to the heat. Bed mattress was hard , so I guess it is ok if you like it.There is no lift , so it was hard to take suitcases 3 floors up. Carpet had a burn marks from the iron and looked very old.

Had a lovely stay at Denewood Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, the location was great for exploring Bournemouth, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

Our second visit, and once again a wonderful, relaxed break in a traditional hotel with the lovely Pam and Alan who always offer a warm welcome, and ensure we are comfortable. It’s our ‘Go to’ for the area and we will be repeat guests as a lovely beach, eateries and everything you could need locally. Thanks for another great stay!

Staff superb! They are encyclopedias of knowledge about where to travel in the area! Nothing too much trouble, visited lulworth, durdle door, hengistbury head, mudeford, christchurch, swanage, studland bay and sandbanks, superb areas to visit. Boscombe beach 2 mins away and superb as well. Shower was superb, bed comfortable. Best stay ever in Dorset. Thanks Denewood for making it superb, relaxing and quiet and mins away from all shops, location is 11 out of 10!!!

Location is perfect , 5 min walk to Boscombe beach and around 20 min walk along the beachfront to Bournemouth pier. The welcome was exceptional , very friendly lovely guy who explained location and where restaurants etc were. Had a fab size room and the bed was so comfy!! And lovely and clean. Even have plates microwave in lounge area for any takeout food u bring back. Great touch x

Basic but what is says

- Staff were friendly and approachable. - Room was great and very quiet, couldn't hear any dogs that were staying. - A microwave, toaster, and bowls with wooden cutlery are available in the lounge for guest use. - It was nice to be greeted when I arrived back at the hotel during the night. - Bed was great, slightly creaky at times due to springs, but no complaints. - Strong WiFi signal that was consistent. - Dog friendly for those with dogs (they even have treats). - Parking was available. - Toilet in entrance also available. - Would very much stay again!

- Didn't mind but for other travelers, stairs are a bit steep (I think it is a converted townhouse). - Shower handle icons were opposite (so the smaller showerhead had to be turned in the direction for the bigger showerhead and vice versa). - No plug point next to the bed. - As it is in Boscombe, do your research of the area, and be prepared to take multiple buses to get to places (only one though if you are going into the city centre). Honestly, these are just considerations to be aware of, and not actual complaints. The rooms could vary and this is my experience of only one room. I'd happily stay in the same room again without any changes.
