The breakfast was delicious! one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had, All their meat comes from a local butchers and you can tell with the quality. The room was clean and very spacious, bed was comfortable and a good size. Were told on arrival that our room was featured on the show "The Bay" which my partner had watched. The welcome was warm and inviting, My partner used to stay in the hotel when she was younger so to be welcomed back so warmly with the newer owners was amazing!

Everything, except inevitably my room had a back view to a not very nice neighbourhood. One of the best bed matress and pillows I ever met in a hotel facility and I travelled a lot.

The perfect base to explore Morecambe with the most stunning coastal views. The owners were absolutely lovely, very helpful and brilliant with my two kids who came with me for a short get away.

Good communication, easy and friendly check in, rooms exactly as described/photos, beautifully clean and plenty of space for luggage, toiletries and drinks in the room. Nice outdoor space at front, great views from front bedrooms! Breakfast was superb and freshly cooked, along with additional choices and fresh juice. Would absolutely stay again. We both got parking spaces on front opposite Balmoral, but there are also nearby car parks is needed. Owners and team all very friendly and helpful with local information.

Lovely stay! Very kind staff, and breakfast is excelent. The location of the hotel is fab, first line of the bay. Comfy beds and nice and quiet nights. The best of it is their ownners', Carl & Viv, welcoming and accomodating.

I should have booked a bed with a view to the bay. The view of the sunsets is breathtaking.

Room was lovely with the most beautiful view over the bay …. Was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Plenty hanging space and socket with usb which was convenient. Very nice sitting room to relax in the evening and a fridge in this room that can be used for your own supplies if required. Carl and Viv the owners are very friendly and Carl was an excellent host at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt really looked after. We also enjoyed all Carl’s stories about the jobs he has had - a few of which surprised us ( make sure to ask him! ). Was also interesting to learn that the hotel featured in an episode of “The Bay” shown on ITV. Thanks for a lovely stay! Tip: we drove through Heysham after leaving which is a lovely little village overlooking Morecambe Bay and is only a 5min drive from the hotel. Ronda & Gill, Dundee

The only thing I can say as a negative was the sound the toilet made when flushing and also when using the shower. I’m assuming this was down to the pipes in the building and not something that can be easily fixed.

Due to the hotel being full we were on the top floor 60+stairs but that was not the fault of the owners as they were full and we and we just decided to accept it

Parking can be a bit of a pain in the evening, but this can't be helped and you can usually find somewhere within a short distance.

We found the matress in room 10 dipped in places, and felt lumpy in others. The quilt was also far too heavy for the summer months, and the pillows were uncomfortable. I did leave a note for the host about this as i felt he had enough on his plate with his partner taken ill, but they took offence to this and emailed me stating such. We were also offered a sea view room at no extra cost when we arrived as the host told us they were quiet. We gladly accepted but after the note i left this was also thrown back in our faces. We never asked them for the upgrade so didn't understand why that was brought up! Some people just can't take constructive criticism, we would have stayed again but the email was worded in a way that they wouldn't want us back again! No loss plenty of other places to stay in the world!!

Breakfast was excellent, full english and cereal every morning. The food was always piping hot and the plates were warmed. The Breakfast room was very clean and well maintained. Our room was spotless and well maintained, everything worked there were no problems with it. The view was great. The shower was hot and the loo, extractor fan everything worked properly. The whole place was spotless and a credit to the owners. Carl and Viv were wonderful hosts, very friendly and informative. If you wanted to go somewhere or do something they would advise on the best way to go about it.

Unfortunately the stairs were the only downside, if you were someone who is not so mobile they were steep and could pose a problem. There is no lift.

The staff are so friendly and warming, they make me wanna return! The view is beautiful. Parking is easy going and free just outside on the street. The convenice of things around and transport is great. I would certainly recommend and defo stay here again.

Everything was perfect. The owners take an obvious pride in running their hotel and aim for perfection. That obviously makes an enormous difference . The hotel is spotlessly clean. The room was incredibly well thought out. I was embarrassed by the speed that I ate the full English breakfast. It was great.

A last minute booking in Easter week while clearing out a relative's bungalow in Bare. Booking was very straightforward with a confirmation email straightaway. The owners, Carl and Viv were really friendly and helpful. My room was clean welcoming and the bed really comfortable and after a nostalgic walk down streets that I have known all my life (I'm nearly 66) and a meal down the road I settled in for the night. Breakfast was good and my full English served piping hot and very tasty. I would definitely stay again.

The Balmoral is a lovely little hotel with quaint rooms but very comfortable and nice and quiet and also very comfy. I had a great sleep for the night.

The room I had was slightly cold it has a heater on a booster panel for upto two hours which works ok for the duration but when it goes off it goes cold in the room unfortunately.

The hosts were excellent and we felt at home from the moment we checked in. Local knowledge from Carl was fab and he recommended a great place to eat, ‘The Crown’ in the town which was fantastic. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was outstanding and finished our trip at Balmoral off brilliantly. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The only issue we had was with the WiFi, but it didn’t impact on our stay.
