Excellent in all respects.Really enjoyed it all
Sausage didnt taste so good but thats just me
What a little gem of a place. We had the most amazing stay, the staff were so friendly and engaging and the food was excellent. Loved the cellar bar and the private garden. I would gladly return just to buy breakfast.
the food and staff
some old stuff
Lovely room, charming owner, great chef
nothing
Great food excellent 10 out of 10
Nothing everything was excellent
Personalet var enormt venlige. Fantastisk morgenmad. Et hyggeligt værelse med plads til os alle (2 voksne og 1 barn). Generelt et skønt og autentisk lille hotel. Beliggenheden var fantastisk.
The location was great, I like to walk so went for a walk down to West Bay which is only 1.5miles away and I felt safe on the footpaths also. The Hotel is lovely, and the reception was very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again.
A lovely old building. Very clean. All staff we came into contact with were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Bus stop right outside for day trips to nearby towns.
The welcome we received on arrival was both warm and friendly and the room was great. Everything we needed was provided and this included breakfast. We will be back.
Evening meal and breakfast was superb. Comfy bed and nice shower although cubicle was a little small. Staff couldn’t do enough to make my stay lovely.
Car park was a little tight.
I visited the Bridge House in August with my partner and had a lovely time. We stayed in room 6 on the 1st floor which had a beautiful 4 poster bed and good size bathroom equipped with both shower and bath. There was also a floor fan provided to keep us cool during the heat wave (which I highly recommend). The room was cleaned daily with tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits restocked regularly (thank you for this). There was a good amount of storage in the room, plug points and mirrors. WiFi was also available. Breakfast was included and very tasty. There was a range of cereals/granola/yogurt and juices on offer in addition to the main breakfast. I opted for the Dorset (full English) whilst my partner favoured the poached eggs and avocados options. Nothing was too much trouble and we found the staff to be both friendly and professional. There is on site parking located to the rear of the property which can fill up but you do have the options of street parking or for a small fee parking in the public car park down the road until a space becomes available for residents. Due to the heatwave experienced whilst we stayed here the room windows were open pretty much most of the time; despite this there was minimal noise from either residents, patrons or road traffic so that was a big plus. I would highly recommend this hotel going forward and would stay here again if visiting.
We have just got back from a wonderful stay at Bridge House Hotel, everything about our stay was fantastic. The staff were all so friendly & accommodating, our room was perfectly adequate for our needs (room 2, the snug) & the breakfasts were really delicious. Please read through the comprehensive information book in the rooms – they go above & beyond to ensure that you get the most out of your stay in Bridport. The really do think of everything, it was such a lovey touch. We used this hotel as a base for Jurassic Fields Festival & would happily do it again next year.
Everything is exceptional. The staff, the accommodation, the quality of the food, the lovely garden areas. Exceptional and would award 10 stars if I could.
Nothing. It is just the most wonderful and beautiful little hotel with the loveliest people working there. Felt more like a loved and cared for friend than customer.
We have lived in.Bridport for over 25 years the Bridge house never reached it’s potential but now it has……. Since the new owners took over early 2026 they have transformed the total experience with excellent food & menu superb staff & accommodation upgrades We have nothing but praise Well done
Very friendly staff food was excellent accommodation very nicely decorated
Although we only booked for one night, the immediate, warm welcome by the host was an indication of the very pleasant, but brief stay we had at this lovely hotel. We reserved a table in the restaurant at the time of booking the Bridge House, but were able to eat outside in the Potting Shed, a restful bistro-like area of the garden. We still ordered the restaurant food, which was delicious. We heartily recommend the Bridge House and will return at the earliest opportunity.
We cannot think of anything we didn't like.
The new owners haven't dropped the ball at all. A delightful two night stay with a delicious dinner on the first night. All staff professional yet friendly and attentive. Glorious to sit in the Potting Shed sipping ice cold drinks in the sunshine / shade. Due to the nature of the building some of the rooms area bit small but still comfortable. narrow stairs and unexpected steps may not suit those with slight mobility issues.
The Restaurant is excellence!!!
There is no door in the bathroom
Great staff, hotel has character, food delicious
Wider choice of beer! Otherwise nothing
Walking distance into centre of town, perfect. Excellent, helpful staff. Really knew hospitality (perfect dinner service by young staff) above and beyond. Interior design beautiful, sensitively restored. Beautiful, comfortable bedroom/linen. Loved the Potting shed for outdoor eating. Breakfast and dinner ++ excellent.
Steep steps at entrance and steep steps up to top bedroom. Limited parking. No shower
Comfortable bed; Excellent breakfast; Friendly and efficient staff; White table cloths in the dining room; Cosy Cellar bar.
Room noisy from road traffic; Bathroom small; Parking a bit tight.
We’ve been meaning to eat here for a while and finally got around to it. I’d booked a table by phone and we sat in the garden as it was warm and convivial. Lots of others were eating and drinking and the atmosphere was lovely, we even spotted a couple of our neighbours. Our food choices were a Lamb Croquette with Humus and Chermoula Dips (outstanding) then main dishes of Fillet Ends, Mushrooms and Green Bean with Chips & Salad with Pickled Fennel and a Gnocchi and Chicken Ragout. We had some Olives as nibbles and Raspberry Sorbet as dessert. Our choice of drinks was Chardonnay and IPA. All for just over £80 plus a tip - excellent value for the quality on offer. Service was top drawer, we were very well looked after. We parked on the road. I’ve a sneaking feeling that we might rock up for a Sunday Lunch in the near future.
Lovely cosy hotel with character.
Great location for Bridport town, just at top of high street. 2 minutes walk . The staff were some of the friendliest I’ve gone across, nothing was too much trouble 👍 The rooms were comfortable and clean and the bag of fudge and biscuits was a lovely touch 🙏 The sunny garden was perfect for a pre dinner drink & the walk along the river was a welcome sight.
Nothing - thoroughly recommended 👍
We went there as a family and the food was amazing. staff were absolutely brilliant and made sure we were very comfortable and happy with what we had. The portion sizes were amazing. I don’t think I need to eat for another week. well done to the owners and all the staff definitely a 10 out of 10.
Great location, lovely building, staff very friendly and helpful plus cocktails and food all delicious. Really liked the garden to sit in for a drink in the evening.
Limited headroom room in the eves - do not stay on the top floor if you are tall.
Beautiful house. I enjoyed reading about the history of the house.
The second floor is actually the attic. The attic is exceptionally hot and has low ceilings / beams.
Fabulous property with excellent period furniture and well thought out decor, It was a great experience to stay, service and food was excellent
Nothing. Everything was good
excellent breakfasts and lovely welcoming atmosphere.
Everything .Staff excellent.Well appointed and maintained facilities.Excellent breakfast

Lovely ambience, most helpful staff, quirky and comfortable
Due to the heat wave was hot on the top floor
Breakfast was amazing, great quality ingredients very tasty. Every member of staff we encountered was really polite and friendly.
Friendly staff and lovely room. Excellent breakfast and lovely outdoor bar with delicious bar snacks.
Delicious breakfast choice and ideal location
A little noisy with traffic and gulls, not things to be controlled.
Staff really lovely, helpful friendly, hotel smart clean, On site parking a bonus Potting shed an outside space was great We had Sunday lunch and it was excellent, breakfast also very good
We were given room 2, in the loft, it was tiny claustrophobic with one tiny window. There was no space for anything. A truly horrible room. Tried to change room but was told the hotel was fully booked.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Bridge House Hotel, beautiful room, loved the Potting Shed, yummy breakfast and great location
Nothing
I meant to to put this up back in May. The final day of our short break in Bridport and we happened upon The Bridge House Hotel ...we'd been turning up right up West Street on our walks out but this time we turned left to head to the park. What a find!! The combination of the lovely garden area, the building's history and character inside and out, the excellent food and the exceptional geniality of hostess Emma -Jayne made for probably the best experience we've encountered in visiting hostelries of all stripes over the decades. It truly was that enjoyable and was the perfect end to a lovely stay. We wish Emma-Jayne and Matthew the very best for the future ..we will be back!!
Great food & lovely friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend it
Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast
Staff. Quirky room but then again the property is very old. Loved freshly cooked breakfast.
Nothing
Friendly, welcoming staff Good breakfast Super cavern type restaurant with excellent food Parking and close to town and park
No lift or air conditioning. We were in attic room during heatwave. Though staff were excellent helping with cases and providing fans
Great location, atmospheric rooms, great breakfast. Helpful staff.
Nice bit of supper in the heat. Restaurant was cool , service very good. We had the sea bass and the burger. Both good. Seems to cater for the older diner, worth a visit.
The staff were excellent
Relatively small car park, but managed to get the last spot for the night, although there is night time on street parking next to the hotel. Very friendly welcome on arrival. Room was comfortable and clean. Really nice breakfast with friendly staff.
The menu looked nice but the restaurant was empty and I did not want to sit in a empty room on my own, so i went out to eat somewhere else. I should have had a look in the bar area but it seemed just as quite.
Het terras in de tuin ziet er gezellig uit, maar door slecht weer hebben wij er geen gebruik van kunnen maken.
De locatie aan een drukke weg/rotonde, klein/smal/laag en donker. Geen douche in de kamer. In Bridport is niks. Naar West Bay is het een half uur wandelen.
Upgraded our room
Nothing
The room was exceptionally comfortable. Tea, coffee ,hot chocolate available & complimentary water provided. Bathroom accessories such as flannels, body lotion, body/hand wash, sewing kit, shower cap were also provided. The breakfast choice was superb, we had The Dorset which was a full English all cooked to perfection & locally sourced produce. The staff were very polite & made us feel very welcome. There is a cellar bar & lovely outdoor garden bar with seating & plenty of cushions & throws if it gets chilly. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyably. There is a bus stop just up a bit from the hotel which will take you to West Bay & other places. We enjoyed the open top bus back from West Bay. Thoroughly recommend a stay here at the hotel.
They were very dog-friendly, which was very nice for our little dog, as we could have our lunch and breakfast with her in their dining/breakfast room. It was easy to find and situated in town close to the shops. West Bay beach was also amazing to visit. Their food was superb, as we had Sunday lunch there, as well as breakfast.
The TV and the WIFI were not working. The TV picture was awful and kept jumping.
The staff were the most friendly staff I have known. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious too! Would definitely stay there again.
Lucked in to begin with the last available slot for parking on site. Great welcome on check-in. The en-suite room, albeit on the top floor ( 3 flights, no lift) was outstanding with everything provided including floor standing fans. Beautifully appointed and so well presented. Then the evening - we repaired to the delightful Cellar bar where the barman, Ashley, greeted us in an unpretentious manner and provided the perfect service. Then the meal? - well, all I can say is that we had one of the most delicious dinners one can imagine. The menu was amazing in the choices open to us; I went for the duck and my wife, the Homity pie; the presentation was superb, the vegetables cooked perfectly - everything to perfection and made for a perfect pre concert dinner. Ashley even promised us he’d remain open for our post-show return!! Breakfast had a superb choice available with all the extra little touches that make such a delightful difference. All in all a thoroughly recommended hostelry to which we have no hesitation in wishing to return.
My wife and I had a meal in the bridge house hotel restaurant and it was fantastic. The decor and surroundings are pristine. The staff were very polite and attentive throughout our meal which was superb. The quality and portion size was excellent and very well presented. The cost is very competitive with other similar venues. This will Not be our last visit! Thank you so much.
It was wonderful, it was decorated impeccably and had a lovely friendly feel to the hotel as we arrived
It was all superb
The property was very welcoming. We were greeted with a warm reception on arrival. It was a very hot day and every effort had been made to ensure we were comfortable both day and night.
Nothing.
Popped in for breakfast today and received a very warm welcome as well as an absolutely superb breakfast. Will definitely be coming again despite the distance ! Also need to come for dinner !
Location, main facilities (reception, dining room), breakfast. Host at breakfast lovely.
Room was small and very hot. Bed was small and not comfortable - poor nights sleep both nights. Woman at check in a bit distracted and not knowledgeable about the local area.
Really cute place. Very clean. Loved the downstairs bar/restaurant area.
Comfortable, convenient and well equipped. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent
Both very good
Bath little slippy when showering
Staff and service were fantastic, the food was amazing. Great service. We were upgraded to a better room free of charge, my husband was given a free drink because it was his birthday. Nothing was too much trouble.
We were unable to turn off the radiator valve so it was really hot in the room. Luckily we managed to open the window to cool it down.
Very caring and welcoming staff and excellent breakfast
Parking is available but quite limited
Absolutely loved our stay. Had the warmest of welcomes and the whole team went above and beyond to look after us, especially when I returned from the Jurassic Ultra Challenge. Epic breakfast, beautiful hotel, bar and restaurant. Cannot recommend enough!
Nothing at all
Great location, comfy bed, quiet, very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, easy parking
Room fairly small, but fine.
Lovely staff and a beautiful building.
Fabulous meal and delightful staff
Nothing
A wonderful two night stay in this lovely friendly hotel. Everything you need has been thought of and particularly nice touches like fresh milk for your room tray. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were in a league of their own! The hotel was delightfully quirky, clean and good value for money.
This is a great place to stay, for so many reasons. The hotel and rooms have character, they are beautifully furnished and the beds are very comfortable. The room was much better than I expected, with loads of super toiletries, tea/coffee etc, and we had a leather sofa, so I could sit in comfort and read my book. . All the staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient and the choice of cooked breakfasts was high-quality food, presented very well. It's the best place we have stayed in for years, and we were very impressed
Wonderful hotel, perfectly located for exploring the Jurassic coast. Old and quite quirky building beautifully decorated was a pleasant change from the often bland and corporate hotels chains. Whole place immaculately clean. Staff were absolutely wonderful – nothing too much trouble(the owner even sat up on Sunday night and served drinks for us after the bar had closed). Always a warm and genuine welcome. Ate in the Restaurant one evening and the food was great; interesting menu, delicious well presented food and good value. Breakfasts included with the room were varied, tasty and well prepared. No reason but to give 10 out of 10. Thank you for a lovely bank holiday weekend.🙏
Nothing
Excellent staff,food,location.
Fantastic welcoming service. Brilliant food and superb wines. Amazing choice and generous portions. Everyone had a fabulous time and left very happy.
Good location close to town centre. Excellent Staff; friendly and professional. Room very good. Dog friendly. Food excellent.
Car parking in car park not guaranteed and not easy to manoeuvre. Limited parking on road outside. Room facing main road.
Good location and pleasant staff.
Room very small with sloping ceiling and low beam.
Very good breakfast. Rooms very well equipped. Staff really helpful and nice. Good atmosphere in the bar.
Lines for parking spaces as the car park is compact
Arrived as soaking wet and freezing backpackers walking The Monarch's Way, so I'm mentioning the stuff that's important to us. The Bridge House is a lovely place with a very warm welcome and excellent food. Located on the main street. Body lotion and conditioner in the bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Dinner and breakfast were perfect with an imaginative chef - very special. Next time we'll bring some nice clothes...!
The Bridge House is a lovely old building and we had an attic room. I don't usually book these as my husband's tall; also our room had a bath with a hand shower and restricted headroom. If this is important to you please check with the hotel directly as Booking dot com don't always explain this kind of thing. But that bath was so welcome that day!
We booked this hotel specifically because it said on its Hotels.com page that it had EV charging and car park. Turns out they no longer have any EV charging and when we arrived at 3.30pm the car park was full and we had to take the car down the road to a public pay car park. Hence I have to give it a poor rating, very disappointed/annoyed. It would not unfair though not to mention the excellent breakfast.
Another few days in Bridport at the Bridge House - really great place to stay. Clean, welcoming, lovely decor in bedrooms, great food (thank you chef Michal), really friendly host (Emma-Jayne with her fantastic team). The only place to stay in Bridport & area, looking forward already to our next visit.
Fantastic cosy hotel. Lovely atmosphere and room. Good parking. Tasty breakfast.
Nothing really. Would have preferred a shower to a bath but not a big issue.
Beautiful building, rooms & bar area. Lovely welcoming staff, great food. Thank you Emma-Jane & team.
Nothing
Absolutely lovely stay, excellent position and wonderful restaurant. I loved the decor and quirky layout. I cant wait to return
There were temporary roadworks outside overnight - but all over now!
I liked everything about my stay at the Bridge House Hotel and will returning to stay there again. The room was fabulous the bed very comfortable. The Sunday lunch was one of the best I've ever had. The breakfast was fabulous and the staff very friendly and helpful. I've stayed in 4 different places in Bridport I wish I found this place first. I wouldn't have stayed anywhere else.
Nothing
This is a lovely hotel, next to the river in Bridport. I've only ever stayed in a single room but both times they've been wonderful. The beds are comfy, the bathrooms are spotless and fully stocked with shampoos, etc., and there's always fresh milk and espresso coffee on offer. The staff are extremely friendly and the breakfast is delicious! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
Excellent Sunday lunch. Great selection of veg & beef perfectly cooked. Staff really friendly.
Another great stay at the Bridge house super friendly staff for a relaxing stay lovely meal in cellar bar be back soon
Staff, location, decor, food, friendly, helpful, thoughtful, accommodating
Perfect for me..
Emma-Jayne and the staff at The Bridge Hotel went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make our stay so special. We stayed for 3 nights, the family room was plenty big enough for us and the staff had left out a few toys for our daughter to borrow whilst we were there which was very kind. The breakfast was outstanding; local, delicious food with a great range of choices. Even a babycino for our daughter and beans on toast for breakfast!
Nothing! It was spot on!
We had an absolutely delicious lunch here. I had lamb cooked three ways off the specials menu and it was amazing. We had our grandson with us and he loved the fish and chips he had from the childrens menu. My husband was very happy because they serve Budvar lager. We were made to feel at home. Everything was perfect!
Return visit as I am always treated well with great food
We went for a Sunday dinner. The food was so tasty and the staff were very friendly. The portions were large, so go in hungry. You will not be disappointed. We will recommend to everyone that we know.
Location. Staff were lovely. hotel was traditional. Breakfast was great lots of choice
Shower in the bath My fault for not specifying the need for a walk in shower
Location, food and staff were all excellent.
Nothing really.
Excellent choice
We loved the old world charm and the history of the building. We were so comfortable and all the staff were amazing.
Nothing.
A lovely hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice food. Nice to have a bar. Cosy atmosphere . Quirky decor.
Our room was a little too small for a 5 night stay.
Excellent staff who were willing to go the extra yard to ensure that guests’ requirements were met. The Dorset breakfast was magnificent, but once the continental breakfast items were eaten they were not replenished. Great location for exploring Bridport and the surrounding area.
The room was described as snug - a perfect description. Accessing the room up 4 short flights of steep stairs was a challenge on occasions for 77 year olds.
Everything about the Bridge House Hotel is fantastic. The hotel is thoughtfully decorated to compliment the historic building. We were greeted warmly by staff. Our room was small but beautifully appointed. It was spotlessly clean with every detail considered, coffee machine, bottled water, even the choice of oatmilk for our morning cuppa. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. Breakfast was superb with a good choice. Again, staff were friendly and efficient. The location of the hotel is perfect just outside the main hubbub of Bridport but within easy walking distance. Westbay is a leisurely 40 minute walk from the hotel in the other direction. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to stay again.
Can't think of anything
What a wonderful family hotel and restaurant run by Emma-Jayne and Michel. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable and the food and service is 5* with both evening meals and breakfast having a great choice all exquisitely cooked and very generous. The whole team are so welcoming and friendly both in the funky cellar bar where we tasted the best raspberry mojitos and in the upstairs dining areas where we we were looked after so well including our dog Rafi who was given his own bed and snacks at the table as well as in our bedroom. This is our 4th visit for food and drinks and our first time staying so we will now be regulars as everything about the Bridge House I love.
The most delicious Mother’s Day Brunch served in the cosy cellar bar. Service and food beyond excellent. Warmest of welcomes from Emma-Jayne and her wonderful team. Can’t wait to return to try the dinner menu!! Thank you for making our Mother’s Day visit truly memorable and totally perfect.
