The Bull Hotel

The staff were helpful,friendly and welcoming.The room was comfortable, and the beds were very comfortable.The Hotel is old fashioned but characterful.

The only criticism would be the stairs were difficult for my wife as she has recently undergone medical procedures on her leg,Maybe I should have requested a ground floor room ahead of our visit.

The Bull Hotel was fabulous, in the heart of Bridport and fantastic live music in the courtyard with a delicious dinner. Breakfast was a feast, we loved the spot and will return.

We had chosen a small double bed room, not realising it meant the room was the same size of the bed, so very tight. Nowhere to keep your overnight bag but on the upside, the walk in shower and bathroom were as big as the bedroom!

We stayed here after we got married. The staff were so kind and helpful. The made the whole day very special

The location was perfect, right in the town centre. The staff were excellent and really show what customer service looks like. The room was cosy and had everything that was needed. The shower was unbelievable! Food and drinks service was perfect and the morning breakfast was just what was needed!

Staff were welcoming & helpful. Food & drink were excellent. Room was clean & comfortable. Weather was hot, so a fan had been put in the room which was a nice touch. Bridport is a lovely location. I'd recommend the Bull Inn if you're staying in the area.

The manager was great but sadly we couldn’t stay as the room was hot and airless and we couldn’t open a window due to fire regulations!! There was no other room available so we had to leave !

Great Staff. Exceptionally well designed room, which retained character but provided modern facilities.

We were on the second floor and it was hot at night in this exceptionally warm summer (but most places will be I guess).

Perfect location, lovely friendly staff, amazing breakfast and beautiful room. We stayed in a snug room which was absolutely perfect for the night. A longer stay may require a larger room. We loved the garden area / courtyard too.

I'm reviewing this as backpackers walking The Monarch's Way, which runs through Bridport. Our requirements include a simple check in, hot showers, toiletries, a lovely dinner, very comfortable bed and a big breakfast. The Bull was perfect for all of this. Dinner and breakfast was superb. There's a nice courtyard at the back for a welcoming pint. A couple of doors down there's a lovely bakery with smashing bread and pasties. The Bull is on the main street and chemists etc are right there. I'd stay here for a nice leisurely trip as well; Bridport is a lovely centre for exploring this part of England. The Bridge hotel down the road is another excellent little hotel

The Bull is pretty easy to find, there is good parking directly behind it. It's a historical building with a lot of charm, the staff are efficient and the room was clean.

I guess primarily that nothing about the stay stood out as being excellent. Just about everything was fine, but when the convenience of the car park is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of The Bull I guess I was a little underwhelmed with the rest of it. The dinner (Sunday roast) was a bit of a disappointment. I walked down the road afterwards to get fish and chips from the nearby takeaway (which was excellent!).

Friendly staff. Lovely room and beautiful courtyard. Parking was added bonus.

Location - central to Bridport on Sat market day which was handy and fabulous. Amazing thanks for the reception lady who was so accommodating for an earlier check-in - very grateful thank you!

Beautiful building with an open courtyard, but what made this visit so good was the staff. The staff made our stay comfortable and pleasant, they are knowledgeable, hardworking and still remain extremely pleasant and eager to make your stay special. There is free parking for guests at the rear in a dedicated car park, stroll through the courtyard and you're there. Food was excellent and the availability of local produce was really good, you should try the eggs a local delicacy. Our room was spotless and as it's in the middle of a heat wave a high quality cooling fan was in operation when we arrived. The room was comfortable with all hotel amenities available. It's a gem of a hotel and the staff just elevate it further.

There was nothing to dislike on our stay.

Room far too hot and only one small fan that kicked out warm air and couldn’t open windows apart from wedging a cushion under the window to give a tiny gap of fresh air

The fan in our room was a bit lack lustre on a very hot day but a minor issue.

Lovely old building very tastefully decorated in a great location in Bridport. Lovely patio for outdoor dining / drinks. Very nice breakfast made either very good quality ingredients. On-site parking.

Dinner bookings finished very early. We tried to get a table at 8:10 on Sunday and were told the kitchen was closed. We should have read the in room information however it does seem very early to shut a hotel kitchen. Luckily there was a very nice Thai across the road.

Breakfast was great, but the wait was painful and rather prompt at clearing the continental table away. Basically, informing half an hour before service finished.

Sash windows that you can’t open properly- on the 3rd floor in warm weather and the room was baking hot despite the Dyson air circulator - Farmers market of some sort we’re setting up stalls outside at the crack of dawn when we had already hardly slept a wink

The stairs! We weren’t warned and are getting on a bit so found them difficult. Also four poster bed very high and difficult to get on, especially in the middle of the night.

Mitten in Bridport gelegen, deshalb vielleicht nicht ganz so ruhig. Hat uns aber überhaupt nicht gestört. Sehr schönes Zimmer, dessen Badezimmer grösser war als bei uns Zuhause. Gute Küche und freundliches Personal. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone I know. It is beautifully decorated, has luxurious rooms with very nice beds, and the breakfast is so good!

There is not much to do in Bridport itself, and almost all restaurants are closed on a Sunday.

Cooked breakfast a little disappointing. Bacon was tasteless over cooked and obviously pre cooked and left standing as it was dry and not edible . Less and better quality is the improvement I would recommend .

There was loud noise from the kitchen extractor fan, which although it was turned off before we went to bed, came on again at 7.15am and woke us up and not able to get back to sleep.

The staff were tremendous from the welcome to the goodbye. Staff offered to carry our cases to and from the rooms. There was a good varied menu for breakfast and it arrived hot by good attentive staff. The evening meals were good too and the staff very attentive .The rooms had been reburbished and were very pleasant with goodsized bathrooms. However the step to the bathroom in room 201 needed to have a strip on it or overhead light for the evening to avoid keeping the bathroom light on during the night to avoid accidents . It was a lovely old hotel with original floor tiles and wooden floors kept. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful spacious room with big bathroom, separate toilet and free standing bathtub as well as walk in shower. Beautifully designed, very comfortable bed and pillows, great water pressure, excellent amenities. Restaurant below had good food and staff was very kind.

Pretty excellent experience overall. As they just recently renovated the whole hotel, it still smells strongly of paint both in the rooms and corridors but that’ll go with time. The lighting in the restaurant is quite terrible- it’s so nice otherwise, with some warm and dimmer lighting, the atmosphere would be a bit more comfy. Breakfast was decent, but the buffet could be improved by better pastry and fresh juice.

It’s an ideal location for my next days commitments, it’s good value for money and very comfortable with great staff

The room was fantastic and exceeded expectations. A beautiful stand-alone bath, a four poster bed, a large shower, robes and a coffee machine as well as teas and water provided. Staff were fantastic, polite, friendly and very helpful.

The breakfast menu was fantastic but gluten free options in the restaurant and at breakfast were minimal and the breakfast service was very slow. Our room overlooked the market and although we don't mind an early start, the early morning banter may not be ideal for some!!

All the staff were really friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the food was great. Location was also good.

It’s a shame to say something negative about such a great stay! Although nicely decorated, the bedroom was really small. There was no storage space for clothing and nowhere to open suitcases. We had two suitcases for a three day stay and were continually moving them about to allow us access to move around the room.
