Old Orleton Inn - Telford

Very individual hotel in a good location. The age of the building gave it so much character and the room reflected that. The facilities were great and I enjoyed a meal in the restaurant.

I would’ve preferred breakfast in the dining room but it didn’t spoil my stay in the slightest.

Staff polite and friendly. Room clean and nicely presented.

Wasn’t keen on the breakfast options . The basket had very and oats as option and two croissants pre packaged. Think breakfast although served in basket could be better quality

That although I mentioned to a member of staff about the noise I kept hearing about every 10 mins, in the day and throughout the night, I didn’t feel it was addressed, as I was told it was the people next door using the bathroom, but that doesn’t happen approx every 10 mins.

Bedroom facing on to A5 Holyhead road meant a lot of traffic noise, however my brother managed to sleep through it! No air conditioning but fans were available on request.

Soap dispenser in bath had a broken lid. Would have preferred a cooked breakfast option. Or a fresh croissant rather than packaged one.

Cold water tap water was warm, shower was warm and water pressure was very low In our other room the mattress was very poor and the tv remote volume didn’t work properly

The history of the building and layout staff were friendly

Only a boxed breakfasted available although this was of a decent quality. A hot breakfast should ha e been available this wasn't made clear when booking. Also during our stay the resturant was closed, which meant a taxi ride to another restaurant. We booked the venue based on the on site restaurant as we didn't want to go elsewhere for a meal as this was our anniversary we were a little disappointed that thr restaurant was not open that night we were not informed of this until we arrived.

So convenient for lots of places to visit. Staff very knowledgeable about local area and very helpful. Nice comfortable room, the picnic style breakfast was really good and just what we needed to start our sightseeing each day. The independently run restaurant within the hotel served absolutely excellent food. All freshly cooked, reasonably priced and honestly the best we have had for a long time. Great service too.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Beds are comfy and the rooms are very clean. Bathrooms are okay as in everything works and are clean.

Very noisy all night from traffic as it’s on a main road and even with windows closed. Bed sheets did not smell very fresh It may have been my error but I didn’t tho k breakfast was clearly stated as a pack in the bedroom

Hotel restaurant separate, no cooked breakfast, no fan for room. Could only book on-line. Even when were were in the hotel. we still had to book on line. No reception. Very lazy. Breakfast was very poor. I was hoping for a cooked breakfast not some hastily thrown together packets etc, The hotel and restaurant being separate was weird, going to the hotel bar to buy drinks to carry to to the restaurant. The temperature in the room was in the 30's all night. Was told in the morning fans were available and should have been made known to us via the welcome pack (which we didn't receive) but when the manager checked there were no fans left, ie not enough for one per room.

Honestly everything was good

Best hotel ive ever stayed in and did not want to check out! The staff were so lovely and gave such a warm welcome, the cleaning staff did a great job and also arranged my teddy on the bed with a biscuit which was the cutest thing ever :) the room was super comfy whilst also spacious, containing everything and more that i needed/wanted - fridge/ massive free breakfast hamper that was there the night I arrived/ re filled the next day / lovely bathroom with amazing shower / tv / hair dryer ect. Great if you want to stay somewhere fancy near lilleshall (20-25 min drive from lilleshall) - i had an archery comp so this was a lovely place to come back to.

We chose the hotel because it was a good location to visit both Shrewsbury and Ironbridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

The restaurant is a separate business and was not open in the evening two of the nights we were there. You have to buy drinks from the bar separately from the food. We were asked to pay a £20 deposit if we wanted a fan in our room (apparently a lot get stolen!).

Disappointing continental breakfast, a packet of crunchy nut cornflakes, muesli and nuts, apple and yoghurt, did not like croissant in a bag, so unappealing. V chaotic check in, no clear signage, other customer complaining they had been boxed in the car park, never asked if we'd like to eat there.....close to leaving then and there, hired a fan for night but had to hunt around in the morning to return it and get back deposit. Signage poor, guest experience poor, not even a considered in my view. ,

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We stayed in extremely hot weather and they found a fan for our room. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The hotel looked recently refurbished. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The basket provided was very nice and the fridge was useful. Good location. Room was quiet enough and not too hot considering the weather. Was nice to hear sleep from outside. Garden looked pleasant too.

Not much to dislike. We were on the top floor which is fine but make sure you check if this is a problem for you. I did like the basket but would prefer a cooked breakfast. I do understand why the basket is used though. Bathroom was quite small but not especially a problem.

Room 1 located on the road side next to two way traffic lights, meant constant traffic noise. The room was small with an even smaller bathroom which felt claustrophobic and the bed was the most uncomfortable I've had the misfortune to lay in. Coupled with the "Old" undulating and uneven floor and the step into the bathroom in into a shower without heating controls meant that you played jeopardy with others in building! Not the best experience.

Very bad location, travelled for work and wanted to get a good night sleep. The Inn is on a busy road with traffic all round, too noisy to sleep and room was cooking me as they didn't have air conditioning. Extremely bad night, couldn't sleep as it was so hot and couldn't open the window as the noise was pitch high. I have just taken early morning flight that day and had not much sleep the previous night. Hence want to rest & sleep and have good breakfast to start the next day. but was totally disappointed. Won't recommend for working professional. Also, the inn had no hot breakfast not even a toast or eggs in the continental breakfast. When requested for hot breakfast, answered the kitchen in the restaurant only opens at 12pm. The restaurant was just on the ground floor of the Inn.Extremely unsatisfied.

No TV reception ( was hoping to watch a World Cup game 😆 ) and very noisy water pipe work from neighbouring rooms in the middle of the night

Location is right at the west edge of Wellington / Telford. Easy driving to visit places to the west, e.g. Shrewsbury. Easy walking access to the Ercall woods (and from there to the Wrekin if you have time). Rooms comfortable. Staff friendly and welcoming. Parking easy. Restaurant was good; it is a separate business so you have to get your drink from the bar. Room has a fridge, this is not guaranteed in UK hotels. Shower good; no shortage of hot water. Domestic staff looked after the room well.

Breakfast is cereal / croissants left in the room. (I should have researched this a bit more; I would have preferred a proper hotel breakfast. But this is probably why the rooms have fridges.) En-suite bathroom (room 2) was a bit tight: I am glad I was not a tall person trying to use the toilet. Restaurant does not operate on Sunday evening or Monday. (There are several good Indian restaurants in the centre of Wellington only a mile or two away.)

It was very warm in our third floor room and we needed the window open, but there was a lot of road noise. Breakfast was a hamper in the room, this consisted of granola, dried fruit, a yoghurt, an apple, and a pre packed croissant.

Oh wow! What an amazing place to stay! Gorgeous building, very comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean. The staff were absolutely brilliant! Especially Jane. She saved the day many a time! Thanks hun! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you so much. Can’t fault our time with you xx 🤩💖

We have had a couple of nights staying here. The accommodation was excellent, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent. I’d highly recommend it to others.

Would have loved a bigger bed so I can keep away from my wife.

They could have arranged for the extremely loud hedge and grass cutting for a different time, not first thing in the morning. Won't be returning.

Our room was on the corner of the first floor and there was quite a lot of traffic noise early in the morning driving fast down the two roads either side of the property

The single room had a good sized bed. Comfortable. Cozy. Great breakfast basket. Free parking. I would have preferred body wash in the shower. I will return.

Lovely property with real character, comfortable room and friendly staff

We booked this hotel as a last minute booking as my previous booking got cancelled 2 hours before i was due to arrive. When we arrived we was greeted so warmly and everyone was lovely, we was shown to our room which was stunning and even better they provided a little breakfast basket which was adorable. Room was clean and tidy shower products were also provided. Bed was really comfortable and had a perfect night sleep.

A warm welcome late at night just as kitchen was closing but chips made nevertheless which was great. Even had a taxi cab App downloaded and my taxi ordered for me after advise that parking might be tricky at my destination the next day. Hotel has modern renovation and retained it’s character, warm and comfortable bed and a large smart TV for a business over night stay meant my working day was very successful! Thanks much appreciated.
