Heart of the high street. We had a great room and the whole place was a throw back to inns of the last 100 years.

Great room with a view down the high street. Very friendly staff and helpful. Also a great breakfast to start the day.

Came back again as really liked the rooms and the atmosphere in the pub. Simple grub and relaxed playing pool at the back.

The Black Bull is a little gem. The staff are super friendly, helpful, polite and efficient. They know their product and can answer any questions you may have. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Thought had gone into this room. I was weary as we were right at the front on the first floor, so above the street and other bars. Needn't have worried, slept peacefully in a large comfortable bed. This was on a Tuesday night, so weekend could be different. The room has a lot of hanging space and storage, toiletries and coffee etc. Nothing was missing. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Not very welcoming. Shower didn’t work at times (no water) possibly because other guests were running their showers.

We were given a warm welcome by the lady at the bar despite her being busy with customers. She took the time ti explain where to park and to organise our breakfast choices. She was lovely

Perfecto para una estancia antes de subir a los highlands. Hicimos el check-in bastante tarde sin ningún problema. es un hotel típico con pub abajo, ideal para unas pintas. Cama muy cómoda, barrio perfecto para dar una vuelta.

Everything was as we were told plenty of food for breakfast. Room very big good quality furnishings comfortable. Tea coffee hot chocolate and biscuits in the room.

It was easy to find. The room was large and spacious with en-suite.

Better signage to tell patrons where the car park for the hotel is. We couldn’t get the spa bath to work and there wasn’t any instructions. Two of the feet of the settee were broken so it was standing on books. Staff said this was in hand

The room was tastefully decorated with all the amenities we needed. The bathroom/shower was spacious and shower was hot and powerful. The bed was comfortable too, The breakfast was very good with the cooked element nicely made to our order and presented well. Choice of cereals, yogurts and a very welcome cooked fruit mix were enjoyed.

The entrance and stairs weren't very inviting, the carpet looking a little grubby - probably all the hiking boots and local customers! It was obviously a well frequented bar area. One or two things in the room could do with renewal/repair though there was a very nice new chair and everything was very clean. Unfortunately the night we stayed, a Friday, there was some late night street noise (loud voices), Obviously beyond the hotel control but otherwise it was peaceful enough.

Room was comfortable and clean, Breakfast was good, location great, excellent value for money.

My room was large, spacious and very comfortable. (Comfy bed and pillows, carpet, table and chairs, surface to put my bag on) The food was good - evening meal and breakfast. This was an inn and had no loud music so the noise you had downstairs was of cheerful friendly people all chatting and enjoying themselves. It gave a lovely atmosphere.

The only negative comment is that it was very hot in the room as we were having a heatwave. The staff may need to consider a fan to help cool the room.

Excellent breakfast. Staff very helpful. It had its own car park. Positioned right in the centre of Wooler. Perfect location for a night if you are walking St Cuthberts Way. Milan restaurant next door was excellent.

Have stayed here a number of times over the years and although it may not exactly be the Ritz it is a friendly little Inn, the rooms are basic but cater for all your needs while the staff can't do enough for you. Bar meals are reasonable and breakfast is excellent, will always be my first choice when visiting Wooler.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really good, we thoroughly enjoyed that. Dog owners ate in a different area which was a good idea. The bedroom was large and well stocked with tea and coffee.

The decor in both the pub and the bedroom was very outdated and shabby looking. Although there was a four poster bed the mattress was thick but didn't have much support, we didn't sleep too well. The price charged was more for location as anything else.

Meals at the Black Bull were good. Room was comfortable. Location was convenient.

Better choice of Malt Whiskies could be on offer.

Breakfast was good quality and plentiful and delicious. We ate in the pub the night before and enjoyed our meals and they were freshly cooked and reasonably priced. There was nothing we needed in our stay that we didn’t have

Classic old coaching inn, central in Wooler. Not fancy but great value, lovely old room with big bay window. Staff friendly and helpful.

The room seemed recently decorated and was well kept. The bed was comfortable plus the bedding and towels were really soft. Lots of facilities in the room. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice. The shower was amazing - felt like I was under a waterfall!

There wasn't anything substantive that I didn't like. If I'm being really picky then overlooking the bus station isn't ideal (though the drivers are good at turning engines off and they aren't that frequent anyway). There's also a clock tower chiming every hour. However, neither of these things stopped me from getting the best night of sleep of my whole trip.
