Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The people were very nice and accommodating. The location was excellent and just a short walk to downtown. The food in the pub was outstanding!
The beds were terrible. Very neat and clean but needed NEW mattresses.
The staff was pleasant and the room was clean
after 2 days, they ran out of in room coffee for guest and made no attempt to fix the situation the outside of the property needs some tlc as it does not look like brochure
Front desk staff were very friendly & welcoming. The hotel & room is very well cared for & very clean. The Georgetown inn onsite restaurant was excellent for breakfast & dinner.
Nothing
It was a nice inn. Rooms were a little small but clean.
Na
Staff was so nice. Location great
There was nothing to complain about
Very friendly staff and comfortable rooms.

Central and unusual. Staff were really helpful. Restaurant downstairs which served good food. Very clean.
Our bed and pillows were a bit uncomfortable and our bathroom on nights two and three was in need of a deep clean. Painting the outside would have made it more attractive and added to its charm.
Very good location. Very quiet. Loved the hallway leading to our room with all the movie posters and information about filming in Alberta. Enjoyed that it wasn’t a hotel chain and had its own personality, style.
Everything was great, clean and just what you’d expect. The only reason why the Inn didn’t receive a 10/10 score was that the mattress was very soft.
Comfortable rooms and relaxing stay.
Very nice feeling when walking in, it’s style is old Ireland and quirky, the bar/eating area was nice with a good choice of food and drinks. Our room was small but we choose that, every thing was very good
The only thing was our room over looked the car park and there was people still around at 11pm
Nice room and comfortable bed. Nice to have a bath in the bathroom. Good location close to everything in town.
The room was very hot. There was an airconditioning unit but it seemed very old and was extremely noisy.
We stayed in Canmore one night at the Georgetown Inn. Very convenient location and comfortable room.
The inn will soon need some updating and the pricelevel was quite high.
The rooms are unique and cozy. Every room has a lovely tea service with delicious cookies.
Nice inn
Posizione centrale e camera ampia con bella vista sui monti.
Bagno datato.
Nice big room with very comfortable beds. Great fish and chips at the attached pub.
The best ever bed, cute room, quiet, great location
Great location. Walking distance to most everything in town.
Air conditioner was faulty. Noisy and spewing hot air at times.
Stunning large room tastefully decorated. Very clean. Large comfy bed and big bright bathroom with lovely toiletries. Safe in room and dressing gowns. No breakfast included but we ate in the hotel bar, wow, large portions and really tasty. Staff were all amazingly friendly and helpful. The whole hotel is just lovely.
No iron and board in room. Air con was a bit noisy.
Sometimes “old decor” can mean charming, full of heritage character, well made; other times it means what it says…OLD. For my stay, I would say the Georgetown Inn is now simply “OLD”. Our top level/price Regency suite, which we booked for 4 nights during the summers busiest season, is a case in point of “old”: the king bed creaked and shifted at every move. The drawers in the 3 drawer chest dropped downward when pulled out to use. The draperies did not completely cover the windows and allowed in ample day light and street light at night along with car headlights when they left the car park at 5 AM. The window air conditioner was installed using copious amounts of spray foam insulation (Great Stuff?) to hold it in place rather than hiring a carpenter to correctly size the space and install the unit. The walk in shower had a fabric shower curtain (ick!),lighting in the room was, at best, dim. Housekeeping had to be requested on a daily basis if you wanted anything (clean towels, fresh coffee mugs, more coffee/creamers..you get the point). But that is not the worst of it…the crème de la crème is that we were told by the front desk that ALL of the priciest Regency Suite rooms in the inn are on the second floor directly above the Tavern…so from 7 AM until after 10 PM, clanging bottles, loudly closing doors, dragging chairs and tables about, tossing out boxes to the trash (one door over on the ground level from our 2nd floor suite), stocking shelves…on it goes…daily and nightly. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk clerk, who dutifully attends her tasks from 8 AM to 8 PM sharp, I was advised that the owners and manager were “aware of the problem”. It does not appear anything is being done about it though. I would advise all to NOT book one of these rooms..ours was #203. For nearly 500CD/night, we found the room to be far less than desirable especially with the continual noise from the Tavern. We do not recommend this ‘Inn’.
The vintage vibe of this hotel is fantastic. The front desk is exceptional. The food excellent, great parking close to downtown.
The staff were amazing. The food in the restaurant was really good. Very comfortable bed.
Nothing. All was good.
The check in was smooth, the staff were attentive, the food was good and the room/bed were very comfortable.
The evening menu could have been more extensive.
Nice, clean, cool, room. Beautiful views all around. Shower, bed, television, and furniture were all fine.
We were running late and tried to call the hotel. We could not reach anyone. The number listed online was to a booking agency. The key was waiting for us upon arrival.
Its a very special Hotel...as in Old England. The whole building is as a museum.Room was nice with everything you need. In 10 Minutes walk you are on the Mainstreet with nice shops, Restaurants and Cafes. Many thanks to Steffi, Bella and Nelson. The are very friendly and helpful.
The inn has a charming, classic atmosphere and a great location. The room was comfortable, the staff were friendly, and having free on-site parking was a big plus and made our stay much more convenient.
The property is a bit dated

Location unique rooms with tub and fireplace
Soaker tub in the living room could have use more kitchen room
Comfortable, clean and quiet rooms, great food in the pub, quick walk to a corner store, bagels across the street, and amazing staff! Well worth the stay in this amazing building.
In Canmore town center
The place is quite simple, but the room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was very good. The location is convenient, with easy access to the Trans-Canada Highway, which leads to Banff—just 20 minutes away. There are also various amenities nearby, such as a laundromat, a supermarket, and many restaurants (the hotel itself has a restaurant). The front desk staff is very attentive and helpful with any information you might need. The hotel also offers parking.
The room felt like a quaint apartment and not a hotel room. Convenient location, very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely pub downstairs with good food.
Our room was over the pub so there was occasional bumping noise but not at night.
Charming as advertised, clean and convenient to most of what we needed. Staff (in particular, Bella) were kind, informative, and very welcoming. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
Nada
Great spot, great location, close to town. Super charming little spot. At first hearing that it was over a pub, I thought it was going to be noisy. It was not. It was quiet, comfortable. Just lovely. The room had a bathtub and the bed was very comfortable. Great stay.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The location is excellent—close to the hot springs, restaurants, and local attractions, making it a great base for exploring the area.
Bit Pricey
We had a wonderful experience staying at the Georgetown Inn. I chose it based on its location, good reviews, and reasonable price (for Canmore/Banff). The hotel exceeded our expectations, from the warm greeting upon checking in to the bathrobes (increasingly rare these days) in the room. As a tea drinker, I was pleased to see not only a tea kettle, pot, and wide selection of teas but also a note informing us that we could ask for milk at the reception, which I got the night before for my morning tea and kept in the fridge alongside the complementary bottles of water. I also appreciated the high-quality Aveda toiletries in the bathroom. We enjoyed fish and chips in the pub for dinner, but the real standout were the cinnamon bun pancakes I ordered there for breakfast--among the best pancakes I've ever eaten. I was so happy we'd decided to stay in Canmore instead of crazy-busy-expensive Banff and landed at the Georgetown Inn. Thanks to Bella and all the staff for an excellent stay.
The stay was absolutely amazing. The space was super comfortable, cozy and right in the middle of the beauty of Canmore. The suite was ideal for a small family; well appointed, very on theme but practical. Despite being right off the main road, our room was quiet. The pub offered fantastic food; my husband and son had the best fish and chips outside of Ireland and my daugther's french toast was a beautiful and delicious "dessert for breakfast" experience. The staff were very knowledgeable about celiac and GF alternatives were readily offered. Perfect place to stay if you're going on to Banff or hanging in Canmore!!!!
The food was great The staff were excellent! The room was lovely
The bed was on the softer side ( but that is purely peronal preference)
Great location for exploring Banff and Canmore, comfortable bed and facilities - always appreciate a fluffy dressing gown! - friendly staff and great restaurant/pub attached
Walls were a little thin
Good location near downtown and convenient to the freeway. Canmore was definitely less crowded than Banff but a longer drive to get into the park attractions
If you are traveling with family or friends there is no common area except the restaurant/bar. It would be nice to have a lobby sitting space.
The restaurant staff and food was exceptional, front desk coffee always open, desk attendants very friendly and helpful, desk and bed perfect
Beautifully decorated, clean, good facilities
Great location in the middle of Canmore
Nothing
Whilst the outside of the hotel might look a little worn, don’t be fooled! The king room we had was very spacious, with great amenities (toiletries, robes, tea and coffee) and an extremely comfortable bed. Steph at reception was wonderful helping us out with a parking issue, and even changed a dollar note into coins for us. Food in the bar was tasty and reasonably priced. Location was within easy walking distance of all town amenities.
Nothing!
Location and the fact that the building is older and has history
Needs some work. Baseboards in bathroom were water damage and a hole in the bathroom wall was repaired but painted a different color.
Great big rooms, friendly staff, nice and clean
Nothing I did not like.
The location is excellent. The hotel is quiet and well-maintained
Nothing.

Convenient location
Not sure !
Comfortable room with fire and welcoming, friendly reception service from Bella. Kettle and fridge in room, with milk on request. Well insulated room, so quiet, despite proximity to road and railway.
Moving furniture in downstairs pub/restaurant woke us up at 6.45 on a Sunday morning.
Tge pub and restaurant was excellent
The heating unit was noisy
A lovely characterful Inn, with a lovely bedroom and fireplace. Bella on reception was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Room and bathroom facilities clean and comfortable. Room was quiet, despite proximity to the road and railway, although furniture being moved early Sunday morning in the pub/restaurant beneath our room woke us up.
Unique rooms. Not cookie cutter in each room.
Always love going to the Georgetown Inn whether its a n overnight stay or just stopping for lunch on a Sunday drive. Unique old world charm takes us away from the day to day and friendly staff.
Double aspect room Very comfortable
Nothing
Ambience & pub on site
We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were cute, with nice attention to detail. Loved all the antiques and artifacts scattered around the property. Perfect location for walking around town.
The Georgetown is a quaint hotel but like a B&B. Rooms have been nicely renovated. The nightly rate is reasonable and booking was easy, friendly and we were given a few perks as I called personally rather than on-line. The room was clean and quiet. Enjoyed a cup of tea (good selection) with homemade sugar cookies as I read the handwritten welcome note. Complimentary bottled water, small fridge and coffee. The hotel is decorated with antiques and even has an original elevator! This home/hotel must have been quite the place when it was newly built. The pub is also very nice. We only had breakfast but a great selection and huge portions! The only suggestion I made to the front desk was to install safety/grab bars in the tub. Seniors or people with knee or hip replacements would feel safer. Thanks for hosting us in your beautiful mountain town.
Very charming, nice antiques, good location, wonderful bar and restaurant, spacious room
The room was quiet and updated
Nothing
Everything! Staff was wonderful and the room was great/updated/clean! Pub was fun! Live music! Delicious food! Husband commented the fish and chips were the best that he has ever had! Highly recommend!
Nothing.
Georgetown Inn is our favorite place to stay when we go to Canmore. We love the quaint decor of the whole place and the rooms take me back to another generation of time. The food in the pub is so good for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Can’t wait to go back!
Room was fantastic, plenty of room and we'll laid out
Swing door below our room in the restaurant, however as the restaurant closed at 9 it wasn't really a problem.
The restaurant and pub were very good, a very nice small hotel
Heater was noisy
The staff was very friendly. We loved the location - away from very busy Canmore main street. Next visit, we intend on eating at the pub - looked fantastic. We found our stay very relaxing and plan to visit again soon.
Nothing really. Absolutely no complaints or suggestions about anything. We honeymooned in England and Ireland 37 years ago- Georgetown Inn reminded us both about that wonder time.
Location is great! Rooms are super clean and comfortable. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Will definitely be back to stay here!
The location of this property is very central and easy to find from the #1 highway. The premises are very clean and well-lit. The staff are all very congenial and willing to help make your stay more comfortable. The food in the pub/restaurant is very good and well-priced. Our room was well appointed with all the appliances and niceties that you could ever ask for, right down to a tea-set including a teapot and cookies and unlimited bottles of water in the fridge. That really made our stay wonderful!
I can’t think of anything we didn’t like about the property.
The Georgeotown Inn is small inn within easy walking distance to town. The staff go out of their way to make sure you have everything you needl. The room was clean and comfortable. There was an excellent selection of tea.
nothing, it was great.
Staff responded to request
Sitting by window in restaurant was very cold!
As accommodations go these days the Georgetown Inn was chalk-full of character without being kitch. They had all the amenities that you will now find missing from newer accommodations: enough towels, robes, little containers of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and small soaps, shower caps and q-tips. They have a darling tea setup and easy to control and understand temperature regulation. The in-suite coffee was great.
The cable / TV syncing options - they could use smarter televisions and/or a better subscription service.
The location is perfect and parking is in the rear. The king size bed was super comfy and the room was spacious with all the amenities. I had room 106 with mountain views.
The pillows were too hard to my liking.
The location is great, easy to locate. Actually didn’t eat breakfast at the inn
Cozy feel, love the person touch with the hand written welcome note, the cute tea set and cookies!
The pull out bed was a bit uncomfortable with feeling the bar when laying down, but a hide-a-bed set up often has that as a downside.
It was so good! Excellent
The staff was very friendly and helpful! Our room was very clean and quiet. The room was set up in a thoughtful and welcoming way.

Room, location and staff
Cozy Inn with a nice English pub inside. Big rooms, comfortable bed and easy parking. Staff at reception and in the pub were great. Pub also had several gluten-free option for meals wife.
No complaints at all
Bella checked us in, excelllent front desk . Room was clean and comfortable, very positive experience.
Hotel staff were very polite and helpful.
Bathroom had a bit of a stinky odor even after flushing toilet multiple times.
It is our favourite boutique hotel in Canmore!!! Such a remarkable experience!!!
Great food and excellent service from all employees
The smoke from the fireplace only because of allergies
We were very happy with our room, clean, comfortable and affordable. Will definitely stay again.

Very friendly staff at reception and the room was beautifully decorated, and bright. We loved all the extras (cookie, free coffee, hot chocolate, tea) and the bathroom products were nicer than expected. Loved the convenience of the Pub and the food was delicious. Overall, better than expected.
