Perfect for a night
There's an old fashioned feeling of comfort and excellent service.
The food both breakfast and dinner was good but not excellent.
Really exceptional hotel - super friendly staff with lovely decor and a level of excellence in everything about the hotel. Evening meal was excellent.
Breakfast was nice, service was good, food was well presented and tasty.
Room was not attached to hotel it was round the corner outside the building and down a very steep set of stairs. Room was well presented, however, was very hot. There was a lot of noise from an adjoining room, tv was until at least 3am , soundproofing not great.
ottima posizione ottima colazione pulizia perfetta
Location of the property, Overall hotel stay is very comfortable.
Nothing
Central location
No lighting on pedestrian access at night, steep steps slippery when wet. No lift internally.
The hotel is a comfortable, the room was small and at the two flights of stairs. As we were only staying one night. Perhaps they could have considered the age and fitness of the customer when allocation the rooms.
The hotel had an electric charge point which was good but at £15 per charge 3 times my normal price for a public charge point. Note I have a hybrid and that is what I pay for 11kw.
Love the location which is within walking distance from the lovely town. Good breakfast and we had dinner there which was simple but delcious
The stairs to the rooms was quite high
Friendly staff lovely food
The traditional style if the hotel
Help with our bags up a steep staircase to the 2nd floor
The room was quiet. Nice dinner. Friendly staff. Clean.
I would have preferred a buffet breakfast.
Everything about this place was superb! The room with the real scotish atmosphere, the location and the view, the staff, the breakfest! Most recomended.
I liked everything
It was very clean, comfortable and friendly
Although an old building with plenty of original features it was still presented to a very high standard throughout. The staff were friendly and the food was first class .
Great location and very comfortable, clean hotel. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Food was excellent. Great service.

Amazing in the only word that can explain my experience
Amazing in the only word that can explain my experience
This was our second visit to the Knockendarroch Hotel, and the review I left in 2024 still generally stands – “The Knockendarroch has excellent staff, excellent food and lovely rooms. The key to a stay here is that - everything just works.” Except that this time, one of the most important things did not work – the billing! We had booked and prepaid a dinner, bed and breakfast rate for two nights. On coming to settle the final bill – just drinks over the two nights, the bill also included dinner for one night and an extra bottle of wine. To an extent, hotel bills have to be taken on trust but on this occasion the excess charge was easily spotted; almost £200 of incorrect charges. To be fair, it was quickly corrected – but it should not have happened. One mistake – perhaps. Two mistakes - smacks of carelessness. Disappointing.
Location
Out of the 4 rooms we had booked, there were large, obvious stains in bedding in 1 room, hair on pillows in another room and the duvet smelled in the 3rd room. Considering we had paid £300 per room per night, there was no help given to carry our luggage to the 2nd floor, no lifts, and our group were all into their late 60's and 70's. Little to no service at breakfast, we had to go and knock on kitchen doors to find staff and get toast. We had been travelling in Scotland in on the NC500 and stayed in nicer, cleaner guest houses and hotels with brilliant, friendly hosts which cost considerably less. Absolutely shambolic and appalling service!
Beautiful hotel, attentive staff and fabulous restaurant - close to town
Nothing
Beautiful charming and gracious. Outstanding dinner and breakfast.

Stayed here for 2 nights of a walking holiday. We had a large room with comfy beds and armchairs. Staff were all very friendly and breakfast was all ordered from and menu and cooked to order. It is a few minutes walk up the hill from Pitlochry, which is a lovely town with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. Great walking from the doorstep.
We stayed here as a family of 6 adults to celebrate mum and dad's diamond wedding anniversary. From the wonderful welcome on arrival to our farewells we were all treated so well by the amazing staff. We were greeted by Flo who deserves a special mention for her warm, friendly and informative greeting. What a lovely introduction to what was to come. Dinner was devinely cooked and beautifully presented by the very efficient staff. We had a diverse range of dishes including pescatarian and meat eaters and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Breakfast was equally good, dad even remarking that it was the best breakfast he had ever had.... Not a bad accolade from a well travelled 83, year old. The rooms were lovely, spacious, comfortable and clean. Between us we had a classic double, a premier room (free upgrade, thank you) and a room with patio. The room with patio was a nice, private area for us all to get together outside. My one small gripe would that I would have expected a few more "nicities" in the rooms for the price we paid eg. There was no hair conditioner or face clothes nor wee touches such as fresh flowers, choccies, wee bar of soap etc although dressing gowns and slippers were provided. Overall we were wonderfully looked after and I was so glad that I chose the Knockendarroch for such a special celebration. Thank you to all the staff.
Very comfortable room with an exceptional view, very good breakfast, everyone in our group could choose something she or he liked to eat. Friendly staff. Close to Highlands and Edinburgh at the same time.
Location, cuisine and atmosphere atmosphere
First rate dining. Friendly, efficient staff. Peaceful location. Clean and tidy room.
Nothing!
Lovely hotel, excellent service food was terrific
N/A
Stayed there many times. Comfortable and tastefully modernised large old house in a fine postition.
Excellent staff. Good food. Comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent Choice and quality
Nothing really
Comfortable room with good shower. Access to outdoor sitting space. Restaurant was excellent and not excessively expensive. Excellent location.
Nothing to fault the hotel.
All staff were so friendly and happy to take time to chat, nothing was any bother to them, made to feel most welcome. The evening meal was excellent, beautifully presented and delicious.
Room and breakfast were great.. will definitely be back
Nice and clean and great breakfast
No lift and very quiet
Tolle Lage mit schöner Aussicht. Sehr gutes Dinner. Preis/Leistung stimmen.
Ausstieg aus der Badewanne sehr hoch
The hotel is beautifully decorated. Very comfortable
Secluded, yet convenient for Pitlochry town centre. Food was excellent. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive throughout. Can’t fault anything.
Nothing
Location
Food.
Garden room and restaurant were excellent
Access to and from the garden room was via steps so not easy for people with mobility problems
We had a warm welcome from Flo, she also informed us of local places to visit, which was very useful! The breakfast was very good and staff were polite and smiley!
Can't fault it!
Great location. Excellent staff. Very good breakfast. Beautiful property. Comfortable room.
Stairs. We were on the top floor. A lot of stairs to carry our luggage.
It is a couple of years since we last visited. We were pleased to it has lost nothing of its charm. This time we stayed in a Premier Room in the tower part (Room 4) in early June. We didn't have the benefit of a visit to the Festival Theatre on this occasion, as we visited on a night when the theatre didn't have something on. Nevertheless, it gave us more time to sit and relax for dinner at The Knockendarroch. The meals here are exceptional. You occasionally hear the term 'to die for' but this was certainly true of the starter in Filo pastry - an absolute triumph, delicate and packed full of natural flavours. Everything here is to a high standard and oozes class without being 'stuffy'. Our evening meal was to the accustomed high standard, as was breakfast. We hope to return again soon.
What a gem! The hotel has classic elegance and stunning views of Pitlochry. The bed was very comfortable. It is sooooo quiet and peaceful there. Full disclosure, there is no elevator, so all rooms will require you to climb stairs. The very helpful staff will happily carry your bags upstairs, though. I hated to leave!
Well located and very clean
After being in the Outer Hebrides staying in very good self catering accommodation we decided to spoil ourselves for a couple of days. We were not disappointed. Our room was spacious and well equipped with excellent views of the surrounding area. In the event we opted to eat in the restaurant both nights. The food was exceptional throughout. But the essential difference is the level of service. Only small criticism would be that the eggs, both fried and poached were overcooked at breakfast. Would not hesitate to recommend. Expense, £400 a night for room and breakfast. But a lovely experience.
Beautiful building, perfectly kept and presented. Everything we needed. Comfortable bed, great bedding and towels. Spacious dining areas.

Harika kahvalti. Pek buyuk olmamasina ragmen oda temiz ve konforluydu. Dekorasyon ve ortam cok hostu.
Intimate, clean and great location Easy parking. Nice breakfast
Nothing
Lovely lounge with bar service. We had a double aspect room which was very comfortable and the facilities were good. Very good choices at breakfast.
Nothing to dislike.
Wonderful location, short walk to the main street. Requested one room on the ground floor - was not disappointed. Remainder of the party more than happy with their rooms. Wee owl instead of a hanging do not disturb was a cute touch. Staff were very attentive Breakfast amazing. All in all, could not fault this hotel. Thanks to Vicki and her team for making our stay one to remember. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Pitlochry
Very pleasant, helpful staff, large, comfortable room with outdoor seating area, excellent food. Also the hotel is within easy walking distance of the town's attractions.
The entranve driveway is tricky to negociate with a large car, anmd impossible if someone is coming the other way.
Superb meal for 6, quaint old fashioned lounge for coffee and drinks, superb breakfast
Having to leave..
First time at this hotel and had a superb three day stay. Perfect location with the most comfortable beds and staff that look after your every need. Highlight is without doubt the food. cooked to perfection by a highly skilled team, it was wonderful.
Very nice hotel with excellent service. Delicious breakfast with outstanding attention.
We had a wonderful stay here. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious, the room was warm and cosy and the setting perfect for hiking. The centre of Pitlochry is a short walk away.
Very good breakfast. Location is minutes from the Train Station and Town Centre. Building has bags of character. The team work very hard. Breakfast one of the nicest I have had
Wunderschöne, top gepflegte alte Villa mit viel Charme. Top Lage mit super Aussicht. Sehr freundliches und kompetentes Personal. Exquisites Essen und Getränke. Exzellenter Service.
Location, breakfast
Everything. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The staff were wonderful and the food delicious.
Nothing.
Lovely hotel, room was so nice with an amazing view! Bed was so comfy. Breakfast was really good with plenty options. Was in perfect location for walking down to the main street.
Tolles Haus. Mega gepflegter Eindruck.
Bad könnte separate Dusche verkraften. Badewanne vorhanden. Nutzt vermutlich kein Gast
The food was exceptional, the staff very attentive and friendly our garden room with patio was lovely. Great hotel would go back
Although we loved the garden room it was a little smaller than we were used to with a small but functional bathroom. This didn’t in any way spoil our time there
Excellent central location, we walked everywhere. Excellent breakfast and a pretty good evening meal. Friendly staff and a brilliant room. Hotel appeared full and that says something about it. A number of people were regular customers
Shower bath was a bit narrow. My wife had some difficulty in getting in and out. standing in the shower was on a curved surface. Personally, I thought this may create a slip hazard. My background was as an HSEQ auditor and teacher. However, the shower itself was brilliant and I wouldn't mark the hotel down just for this.
Staff was excellent, the restaurant on site was very pleasant and served great food (we only had the breakfast). Conveniently located to the downtown area, and the building is beautiful. Our room was relatively small, but very well-appointed and the balcony was such a treat! Also, we loved the little stuffed owl they leave in the room to be used instead of "do not disturb" door hanger. Just adorable!

Beautiful and great staff and service
Nothing
Food first class. Staff very helpful and friendly. Special mention to young Australian girl who did an excellent job of looking after us at dinner and breakfast.
Nothing
A quality hotel with excellent service and attention to guests from all the staff. The food was some of the best I have ever experienced in any hotel or restaurants
There was no provision in the room bathroom to store toiletries so they had to remain in our toilet bags on the floor. A simple shelf would have been sufficient
Knockendarroch Hotel is described as a 4* but I'd give it 8 or 9*s. My room was beyond amazing. There were binoculars at the window to see the view! The staff were spectacular. Breakfast was wonderful. The snacks left in my room were an added delight. Was sorry Macs Adventure only had me there 2 nights.
A lovely boutique Hotel in a beautiful location, overlooking the gorgeous Scottish countryside. Our room was a large, comfortable suite. The breakfasts were delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the 2 dinners we had: the cuisine was gourmet quality and our special requests were fulfilled graciously. The staff was friendly and helpful. The parlors and dining areas are nicely furnished and very comfortable.
Location and stature
No usb receptacle in our room
It was immaculate, the staff were amazing and the food was excellent
It was a lovely hotel we had a garden room with private sitting area outside. We got a very good deal for the room so was well worth the money and would stay again.
The only thing that could be slightly better was the breakfast it was nice but slightly falling below expectations.
Nice comfy lounge. Breakfast room very comfortable.
Stairs down to Garden Room , you’re also open to the weather from there to main hotel, however they do provide umbrellas outside your bedroom door.
excellent
we took the set dinner, excellent value for money, breakfast was really good, location was less than a 5 minute walk to the town
nothing, we enjoyed everything
Everything is just perfect!
Nothing
Loved the location and the full property itself. We had one of the balcony rooms and the views over the town were spectacular! Room was homely, clean and very comfortable. Food was delicious. Short walk to the town centre. Will definitely come back.
We've stayed before and enjoy out time at Knockendarroch. The welcome is warm, the food always good and the hotel itself is warm and comfortable.
Perhaps I didn't notice but nowhere did I see that we were to be located in the annexe. While our rooms were perfectly nice, the stairs down posed an issue for my 79 year old husband who has mobility issues. I think this could perhaps be flagged more clearly as I certainly wasn't expecting it.
Excellent service in all aspects. The set dinner was awesome and the price so good.
Larger offering of cocktails during the canapé session in the lounge.
Fantastic property , traditional and amazing food both for breakfast and dinner
Nothing
Location, cleanliness, warmth, attention to detail, beds
Maybe the only complaint would be the stairs down to the garden rooms but we were fit enough to take them
It is a beautiful place. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the room was exquisitely comfortable. Tha breakfast was plentiful and extremely tasty. My fiancée and I usually prefer spa facilities, but you offset that with the sublime quietness which this place offers. As it caters more for the older couple. We will definitely return.Ian and Ann, Dalgety Bay.
Could have had spa facillies and a fridge in the room plus a telly with Iplayer
Breakfast was amazing, location is hard to beat
All was perfect
After a cold, wet winter, weeks of decorating, we were desperate for a break. To be honest, we almost talked ourselves out of it – thinking, “What’s the point of only two nights? Will it even make a difference?” How wrong we were. From the moment we stepped through the doors of Knockendarrock Hotel, we felt welcomed. The staff are friendly, professional, and attentive, and their warm greeting set the tone for the whole stay, which just got better from there. Our room was lovely – bright, spacious, and furnished with top-quality everything. It was such a comfortable, peaceful space to unwind in. The food was absolutely delicious, and we loved that the menu changed daily, giving us fresh choices each evening. After dinner, we enjoyed coffee and homemade tablet served in the cosy lounge – the perfect finish to a meal. The hotel has such a friendly, welcoming vibe that it even extends between guests; we chatted easily with other visitors and had a lovely time exploring their extensive menu of malt whiskies. We slept like logs each night in our incredibly comfortable bed. Those two days turned out to be exactly the reset we needed. If you’re looking for a place to recharge, this is it. We’ll definitely be back.
Spotlessly clean, fabulous food and exceptional staff
Room 8 is above where the staff have their breaks and unfortunately cigarette smoke makes it way into the room

sejour super tres bonne table acceuil parfait
This is a hotel with a difference to say the least. The location is perfect and only a short stroll to the beautiful town of Pitlochry. The hotel itself is beautiful inside and out with original features throughout. Everywhere is immaculately kept and the ambiance is simply perfect. You are treated like a VIP here and we felt as if we were being welcomed into someone's beautiful home. The dining experience at breakfast and dinner is superior in that it is table service only, no buffet, and we felt utterly spoiled by the experience. The food was nothing short of deliciously perfect in presentation and taste. There is no bar here, you are served drinks in the sitting room by lovely, friendly and very professional staff who clearly take a pride in their work. Our room was on the top floor with fabulous views from two windows. It was perhaps the smallest room, however this made it even more cosy and adorable (the room with the wallpaper of books) The little owl on the bed was so cute and a lovely alternative to the usual 'do not disturb' sign. This was our first time here and we found it by chance while searching for somewhere to stay for a romantic two night break. We look forward to returning in the near future, and would highly recommend coming here, you will not be disappointed if you enjoy a touch of class and tranquillity rolled into one..
