Excellent location, staff, service and on site restaurant.
Nothing
perfect location and facilities!
nothing bad to say.
The room and facilities were immaculately clean. The staff and breakfast were fantastic. One of the best hotels in our 25-day stay in Italy.
A beautiful hotel perfectly located for lifts and restaurants. The staff were super helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The sauna and pool were a lovely treat at the end of each day too.
Everything was lovely.
Perfect location, pleasant and helpful staff, wonderful Mountain View from our window
Location
Temp setting in room
An absolutely perfect location to explore the Dolomites. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional as were the staff. The facilities eg pool, sauna and spa were very welcome when returning from a big day of hiking.
Fantastic view out the window of our room but could be noisy of an evening.
Perfect location, good breakfast and the receptionist was fantastic!
Excellent location. Extraordinary hospitality!
Location was fantastic!
My sister and I stayed at this charming hotel in early August 2026. This small family hotel is full of charm that makes it a home away from home. The hotel staff is very friendly, starting from the reception and continuing through the housekeeping team, the kitchen staff and the chefs, and the overall warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. The clean and tidy room with a magnificent view of the Dolomites is equipped with everything you need as a hotel guest. A basic, clean and modern bathroom. A rich and wonderful breakfast, plus dinner served according to a treatment that is coordinated with you in the morning. In short, a wonderful culinary experience. The hotel has parking, which is reasonably priced, but the number of spaces is limited, so it is worth coordinating in advance. The hotel is located in the center of town, close to the two cable cars that will take you to the magnificent viewpoints of the Dolomites. The town itself is of course located in the heart of the region and as a great starting point for tours in the area. In short - a magical vacation that I would love to return to again.
In my opinion, there is no better base to explore the Dolomites than Ortisei, and there is no better hotel to stay in Ortisei than the Stetteneck. It was our second time to visit at the Classic Hotel Am Stetteneck, this time bringing our adult children and my octogenarian father-in-law. And they all fell in love with it as much as we did on our first stay in 2024. Just a few of the things we love about the hotel: - Location...near the top of the pedestrian zone, a short walk to the lifts, shopping, restaurants, etc. - Breakfasts...on our first visit in 2024, we booked the "breakfast included" rate since we didn't know the town that well. And it is so good, we booked that again. Great range of meats, fruits, bread/pastries, etc. - Dinner...having eaten at a few of the restaurants in town, I can say without hesitation that if the in-house restaurant at the Stetteneck was open to the public, it would be among the top-rated establishments in town. Plus it's a great value. - Staff/Service...Andrea (manager), Silicia (front desk), and Sobi (restaurant captain) are all very gracious and remembered my wife and I from our previous visit. We met some new folks this time around as well, and all exude the same warmth and hospitality. The rooms are well-appointed. The small spa/pool on site is the perfect place to recover after a morning of hiking.
Great location, a charming room, delicious breakfast and course dinner. The staff were all kind, friendly and working hard. We stayed a week and truly enjoyed this hotel. The indoor pool was also amazing!
The Stetteneck seems to be a Hotel that guests return to year after year, as the experience is so memorable. The Hotel is a lovely alpine building right in the center of town close to the gondolas, funicular, shops and restaurants. Our three night stay was the highlight of a multi city trip through Italy and Switzerland. The hotel is spotless with charming and very inviting common areas- lobby/bar , outdoor terrace for reading, drinks or a meal, and a beautiful traditional dining room where breakfast and dinner are served. The hotel was filled with Italian couples and families celebrating the August national holiday and a few foreign tourists, all of whom enjoyed the common areas, giving an atmosphere of conviviality. We opted for half board (highly recommended) which included a generous breakfast and multi course dinners of unusually high quality. The quality of the meals, the professional presentation and very gracious service went way beyond our expectations and what we experienced at comparable hotels in France, Switzerland and Italy. Each dinner began with a wonderful salad/antipasti bar with beautifully prepared vegetables, cheeses, and some specialty products like a cheese and ham strudel. The dinner itself was a three course meal, beautifully prepared and typically with a choice of two items per course. We found the dinners to be first rate, and more enjoyable than several Michelin starred meals we’ve had in France and Italy. The hotel organizes additional activities for its guests- such as drinks at their sister hotel’s garden to celebrate the holiday, a barbecue, etc. The indoor pool and sauna were wonderful to unwind and relax in after a day of hiking. What stands out most about this hotel is how well run it is and how well it takes care of its guests. Each employee, without exception, was professional, helpful and genuinely caring. The dining staff were all courteous, attentive and superb at their jobs. The reception staff were informative and helpful- going above and beyond what was required. For example, we departed very early while the hotel was closed. Without having to ask, we were left sandwiches, fruit and drinks for the trip. Hotel and staff should be commended for making their guests’ stays so comfortable and memorable and for upholding high standards across the board. As for Ortisei- it’s a picture-perfect Alpine town- with amazing views of the Dolomites and relatively easy to get to from Milan (3 hour train to Bolzano and 1 hour bus Sudtirol to Ortisei). Most enjoyable for us was taking the Funicular up and doing the short walk to the Resciesa inn, where the views were breathtaking and we had drinks in deck chairs overlooking the mountains and a group of cows grazing right in front of us. We also recommend a visit to the Dolomite Museum right in town for some interesting history of Ortisei and the Dolomites. In sum, we can’t recommend Stetteneck and the half board highly enough and are already planning a return trip next year.
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in September of 2026. The hotel was very nice. Our room was excellent. The food was very good. Overall an excellent choice for our home base while we explored the Dolomites. We had easy access (walking) to Seceda and Alpe di Siusi. The staff brought the experience up a notch. They were extremely helpful (recommendations and reservations) as well as friendly. Highly recommend.
Tutto bellissimo!
Lovely room and nice beds, the best location for seeing the local area and even basing yourself from there.
Price. But it’s high demand town so worth it.
I absolutely loved this hotel. It is situated directly in the heart of town so that you have beautiful views and can walk to everything in just a few minutes. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Micole at the front desk was particularly kind. They accepted my service animal and even provided a new dog bed, food and dog bowl in my room for her which was above and beyond. The hotel offers excellent activities for its guests and I highly recommend doing the hut lunch that you can either hike or take the bus and have a lovely prepared meal and drinks at the foot of the Dolomites. And don’t miss the lovely spa and pool. Parking on site was very helpful. And I signed up for the half board so dinner was included in my stay and the food was excellent. Highly recommended!!!!

Best hotel, staff, environment and food! So happy to be part of it
Lovely hotel. Only stayed 2 nights. It was a great location. The staff were helpful and attentive. Just a 5 minute walk to access the lifts to Seceda
God og hyggelig frokosten. Blide betjeninger.
Charming place
Fantastic location

Fantastic service , great facilities plus hiking guide & wonderful food, probably the best hotel experience of my life .
We recently stayed at the Stetteneck hotel for a week. We chose the hotel due to it's convenient location for many of the chair lifts and cable cars, which are all walkable from the hotel, so I would definitely recommend it, especially like us you don't have access to a car - and actually you don't really need one as the buses are very easy to navigate. Ortisei itself is a very attractive and clean town with a lovely atmosphere. The 1913 hotel itself is amazing with lots of character and history and the rooms are nicely presented and comfortable with excellent triple glazed windows which really do block out any noise from the outside. The hotel has a lovely Spa (pool, sauna, steam room) which we used a few times and very well presented. The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and very approachable, particularly Micol and Sicilia. We went half board and the food was amazing (as you might expect in Italy), with a different 3 course meal (veg and non-veg option) each night - simple, quality ingredients but so tasty and cooked to perfection, along with the delightful deserts!. The waiting staff in the dining room were again so friendly, professional and accommodating - if only we had this in the UK. A major highlight for us was the FREE guided hikes provided by the hotel - the local guide Aaron (apologies if spelled incorrectly) was amazing and I highly recommend them, if like us, you are relatively inexperienced hikers and want to take advantage of Aaron's expert local knowledge to avoid the more crowded hikes - he truly made the holiday special for us. The walks varied in difficulty with some steep elevations but nothing that an average walker cant handle - our group included a range of age groups. Aaron encouraged everyone to walk at their own pace and there was no pressure to finish by a set time. For us, this provision by the hotel is a very special differentiator that the Stetteneck should definitely maintain. Lastly, what can I say about the walks and the beautiful surrounding Dolomite mountains which are breathtaking, you really won't be disappointed. We hiked about 40km over the week but we felt so good afterwards - a real boost to your wellbeing and mental health - we already want to go back to explore more of the Dolomites. I don't really have anything bad to feedback - it's a little challenging to actually get to the hotel. We flew to Verona, and then got the train from Verona Train Station to Bolzano (about 80Euro for the family) about 1.5.hrs - the plan was then to get the bus from Bolzano to Ortisei (since it's free with the guest pass provided by the hotel) but with all the luggage we actually ended up getting a taxi instead (120Euro) for the one hour trip. Overall, we had an amazing time and perhaps next time we will visit in the winter time to see the contrast.
We stayed here for the second time, 2 years apart. Were impressed by staff and everything
Staff at Hotel Am Stetteneck were very accommodating. They let us check in early, and provided us with a fan during our stay. Breakfast was great. Location was very close to all the cable cars / gondolas and close to all the restaurants.
This hotel was perfectly located and very charming. The room was excellent, large and very clean and polished. We very much enjoyed the common areas and beautiful front seating area. The staff was helpful and very friendly. We would absolutely stay here again and are already planning a trip back.
We had a lovely time at the charming Hotel Stetteneck! Ortisei was a great place for our base to explore the beauty of the local Dolomite trails and the Stetteneck was our elegant home for a week! We were a party of four -- one couple and two single adults -- and had three rooms. The rooms were modern, comfortable and cozy, decorated in an authentic Tyrolean style with updated bathroom, lighting, and windows. The balcony of our room was particularly welcoming with a comfortable chair, a small loveseat and coffee table and million dollar views! The hotel is in a perfect location -- right at the center of town. We were a little worried it might be noisy at nighttime, but the nights were quiet and we slept peacefully. THE BEST PART OF THE STETTENECK: The best thing about this hotel is the FOOD! The breakfast spread each morning was amazing: hot and fresh scrambled eggs and bacon, a selection of local meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, and beautiful fresh warm pastries. Breakfast is included in the price, but do yourself a favor and pay for the Half-Board, which entitles you to a four-course gourmet meal each evening. Part of the joy of hiking all day is knowing you can come back to a comfortable room to get cleaned up and then go downstairs to an elegantly-appointed dining room where you are welcomed by a staff that knows you and you are presented with choices of your starter and entree prepared onsite by a classically trained chef. Dinner starts with a buffet selection of salads and cheese and proceeds with your choice of two different starters and then your choice of two different entrees; vegetarian options are always available. Dessert never disappoints! There is an extensive wine list and if you don't finish your bottle the first night (does this ever happen?!), the staff will keep it for you to finish the next night. Avoiding the hassle of going out for dinner -- deciding where to go, making a reservation, waiting for service, and guessing what to order -- is one of the things that makes a stay at the Stetteneck feel so luxurious! Often after returning from our hikes and getting cleaned up, we convened in the lobby lounge or on the front porch for drinks and maybe a card game while we relaxed before dinner. The staff was always professional and friendly, often asking us about our day, and even loaned us walking sticks. Especially if you're traveling with extended family, staying at an all-inclusive hotel makes the experience much more enjoyable and when you discover a place like the Hotel Stetteneck, you've hit the jackpot! We'll be back!
Location was excellent- centre of town and easy walking distance to all 3 chairlifts. Food was amazing (buy the dinner package!!). Staff were lovely- professional and very helpful. And the pool - perfect temperature to ease a weary body after a day’s walking.
Getting the luggage uphill from the busstop.
Exceptional helpful receptionist (Cecilia) Size of the suite Location at the city center
Would appreciate longer spa hours
Hotel am Stetteneck was amazing! The staff were so kind and helpful in every way! They went out of their way to help us with many things. The hotel was lovely and had great views and a great location.
Perfect location. Great room and view. The building is beautiful and right in the center of town. walking distance from the main lifts to the mountains. The hotel also has parking.
The elevator is inconvenient - super slow. breakfast could be more unique for such a great hotel. The staff wasn't the nicest with the parking issues.
The hotel is perfactly located in the older area of town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was generous and delicious, and the dinners were also delicious.
The friendly and helpful staff
Very uncomfortable bed, scented soaps I couldn’t use, very loud- located next to a loud late night bar.
We had a brilliant stay and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The room was excellent, the facilities were first-class, clean, well cared for and the location was absolutely perfect for exploring the area. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the staff. The front desk team were welcoming, professional, and always helpful. A special mention must go to the two gentlemen who worked in the breakfast and dining room. They were outstanding at their jobs, professional, friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm in every interaction. Their attention to detail, strong work ethic, and generous hospitality did not go unnoticed. They consistently went above and beyond to make guests feel valued and cared for. They are exactly the kind of people you would want working in your own business, and they are a real credit to the hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We would happily return and highly recommend this hotel to others.
Very good hotel. Things to improve; Additional pillows & fan will add more comfort. Thank you for a lovely stay.
The hotel made you feel very welcome and it was so charming. They offered free hikes with a guide most days which were incredible. It also allowed us to get to know guests staying at the hotel. The staff from the front desk and the restaurant were very attentive and made you feel like family. Breakfast was incredible and our dinners there were very good. Our room was spotless daily, cleaning staff attentive to all your needs. We had views from two sides of our room adding wonderful light and a view of the mountains around us. I wouldn't stay anywhere else but Hotel Am Stetteneck in Ortisei. All of the hikes can be accessed from the cable cars and gondolas found in town. The hotel also offered free bus transportation to other hike locations in the surrounding area.
Nothing negative
This hotel is in a wonderful location to enjoy the town of Ortisei and the Dolomites. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms provided all the essentials needed for a comfortable stay. The building is historical and has been transformed into a hotel that is authentic and environmentally-conscious. I highly recommend it.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the meals excellent, and the location in the heart of Ortisei is perfect. It's less than a ten minute walk to both the Seceda Tram and Mont Suec Gondola.
Everything was perfect! Clean facilities; attention to details but with environmental awareness. Staff seemed to be well respected by employers as they perfomed their tasks with dignity and joy. The activities they offer, such hikes, are great. The downstairs café/bar has a nice relaxing atmosphere. Rooms a comfortable and super clean! Pool is great. It's a historic place that has been restored and adapted to offer comfort without changing its original concept.
I like everything: the staff's dedication to their work, how neat and clean was every single space, the food, the activities they plan for guests.
There wasn't and single aspect I did not like. It is a place that honors its history, the location, and the idea of comfort with environmental responsibility.
Everything is just a top of it. The rooms, the staff, the food!!!! I truly recommend that hotel! Many thanks for the best experience in the Dolomites!!
El Desayuno y la cena fantastico de 10
The hotel room was spacious, the food was delicious and the location was spot on. Everyone on staff was also super friendly and helpful.
We had an amazing stay at the Classic Hotel am Stetteneck. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially at the front desk when we checked in and the morning we left. The food and service in the restaurant were superb. The hotel is beautifully decorated and located in the perfect spot for exploring the town and surrounding areas. We would highly recommend to stay there.
The hotel is well located to the chair lifts, bus stops, & center of town. However, there are several noisy bars & restaurants near the hotel which are open late. Also, there is construction going on during the day. If you get a room in the front of the hotel, the noise may keep you up at night and cause you to wake early (7:15 am) The people at the front desk and serving breakfast were helpful & friendly. Breakfast was delicious. The pool, sauna, & steam room were very good. This hotel (as many others) does not have air conditioning. They indicated air conditioning has never been necessary. Unfortunately, it was very hot at the end of May & there was no relief. It is now necessary & I do not recommend going to the Dolomites from May to August.
Fabulous hotel in the middle of a super quaint village. The rooms were comfortable, staff so helpful, and front patio the epicenter for people watching and relaxing!
Location, free parking, the room was spotless with a most beautiful view and the spa was excellent. Breakfast was a great spread & variety of choices. Beds were comfortable. The scenery was perfect & idyllic. The free bus transport between villages was easy to use.
Housekeeping started hoovering at 7am and it was during low season for that time of the year!
The staff were SO incredibly nice. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. 10/10. The pool is so relaxing and clean. Feels like a spa
Clean, excellent location, friendly staff.
Un personnel attentionné et très sympathique. Très bon emplacement
La taille des lits simples
Charming hotel right in the center of Ortisei. It's in the pedastrian area, so if you drive here you need to inform the hotel to submit your license plate. Great and rich breakfast. Set-menu dinners are also avilable. Walkable range to the cable car to Alpe di Suisi. We got two connected rooms, one with balcony and both with table and seats in a corner booth (like it). Although the place is old, it is well maintained and everything works.
Services are all great, except a moody male front staff that'd better find another non-hospitality job.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Hotel Stetteneck with our family. Truly one to remember! The staff helped us with everything we needed, including birthday cakes. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality made us feel completely at home. Our visit was extra special as we celebrated New Year’s Eve. The New Year’s Eve celebration was beautifully organized, with a wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and a festive spirit that made the night unforgettable for both adults and kids. It was the perfect way to start the New Year together. On top of that, the team went above and beyond to make us feel at home, adding thoughtful touches that meant a lot to us. And they really looked after the kids as well. The room was great for us as a family, and the swimming pool was a great after ski relaxing moment. The hotel itself is charming, comfortable, and perfectly suited for families. Located in the centre and close to the pistes made it easy every morning to hit the slopes. The lockers for the ski's, the cooperation with the rental company, and the pick up service was awesome. The combination of great service, a welcoming environment, and attention to detail made this a truly memorable experience. Thanks Sicilia and team, well done! We’re already looking forward to coming back!
Perfektný hotel v centre mesta, zároveň blizko peso k zjazdovkám. Parkovanie za hotelom. Ale úplná topky bola strava a personal. Odporucam všetkým

Hotel Am Stetteneck is a comfortable very central hotel in a great location. Their food is really great and their breakfast buffet spectacular.
Cannot recommend Stetteneck highly enough! Such wonderful staff, convenient location to both Seceda and Alpe di Siusi, and excellent food. Highly recommend getting the "full board" for breakfast and dinner. The views and indoor pool are gorgeous. This is our second time staying here and we're already making plans to return next year.
Great hotel in the middle of Ortisei. Spacious, clean and nicely decorated rooms. Very good vibes and very friendly staff, create a very relaxed and luxurious atmosphere.
Beautiful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. It was a fantastic week.
Ottima posizione, personale molto gentile (tutto lo staff). Ottima sia la colazione che la cena.
Nulla.
Hicbirsey.
