We loved our experience staying at the Angelo Engel. We ended up with a couple rainy days at this point in the trip and I'm so glad we were staying here at that point. We took full advantage of all the spa and swimming amenities, the daily snack hour from 4-6pm, live music in the bar, negroni night, etc. The breakfast was good, room was huge, views from the room were great. The location is super convenient to get anywhere in Ortisei and to get up to Seceda or Alpe di Suisi. The bus stop is just a minute away. Also a special thank you to the staff - I got injured on the trail and they helped my partner organize transport, etc.

• The hotel staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. • The location is excellent. • The outdoor areas and lobby are beautiful and well maintained, giving the impression of a quality 4-star property. • The hotel offers a variety of activities, similar to what you would expect from a 4-star resort. • The breakfast was good, although fairly standard. • The bed and mattress were comfortable.

The guest room was very disappointing for the price. • There was no air conditioning, which made the room uncomfortable during the warm July weather. • There wasn’t even a basic coffee machine in the room. • The bathroom developed an unpleasant odor after use. • Other than the bed, the furniture felt cheap. The chairs were extremely small—to the point that an average-sized adult could not sit comfortably. • We stayed on the first floor, and the hallway carpet looked worn and felt more like a budget motel than a luxury hotel. • While breakfast was decent, it lacked many features typically expected at a 4-star hotel, such as a toaster and a made-to-order egg or omelet station. • Guests were assigned the same breakfast table every morning, which felt unusual and limiting. • The spa was just average, with a very small hot tub, and both the sauna and steam room didn’t open until 3:00 PM, significantly limiting their usefulness. • The front desk is only staffed until 9:30 PM, which is surprising for a hotel at this price point and can be inconvenient if you need assistance later in the evening.

Hotel Angelo Engel is my new very favorite hotel I’ve ever been to (and I’ve traveled a lot to many luxury resorts)! I’m soooo sad to be leaving. It was pure magic in every single way. I can’t get over how incredible and warm and welcoming the staff was. They go out of their way to pamper you and make you feel taken care of and we really appreciated that. The grounds are so stunning and serene and feel like you’ve been transported into a movie. The drinks are 10/10, the breakfast and dinner options are delicious, the spa services and space are amazing. We truly had the very best experience ever and will be recommending this hotel to anyone we know visiting the Dolomites. What was most special was the familial feeling of the hotel - it’s family owned and they really do welcome you in as one of their own. The Alpine BBQ and hike (exclusive to hotel guests) was our #1 favorite thing we’ve done on our honeymoon. We met sooooo many amazing people (fellow guests at the hotel, in addition to the family who owns the hotel) and the food and drink and service were fantastic. The guided hike was amazing (we learned so much and the tour guide was incredible). Oh I haven’t even gotten to the location yet! The location is as good as it gets. Steps away from the main village, right near all key cable cars. I could go on and on and on. Again, I am devastatingly sad to be leaving. Thank you thank you thank you to the wonderful family and staff at Hotel Angelo Engel. We will without a doubt be back and hope all of our wonderful new friends are still working there when we do!

I liked everything. Simply note that there isn’t air conditioning so it can get slightly warm midday but this is the norm at almost all alpine hotels in Tyrol because the evening temperatures allow the rooms to cool down wonderfully. So it was all great.

The service was good- room was tidy and clean, the staff at the front desk introduced as to all the activities in Ortisei, we really enjoyed the ebike group tour that she recommended and it is nice that Angelo Engel stayers get a discounted price for it! The location is also excellent- it is at the town and very close to most of the cable cars that lead to the famous attractions and hiking routes. Don't skip breakfast or dinner at the hotel, it is very nice.

Exceptional in all aspects- location, amenities, breakfast and dinner, size and cleanliness of the room. Especially outstanding staff. Elena at reception had provided guidance to see and how to access places around area which would otherwise miss, Nicola and Kostya are great bar staff and Naomi provided great suggestions for trying local dishes in hotel restaurant. The food is excellent - don’t miss it. Elena had recommend and we book guided MTB e-bike for Alpe Di Siusi through hotel - great value and enjoyable experience. Hotel also offers free guided hiking tours almost every day to different trails. End of the day sauna and a swimming pool under the sun to recharge. Already planning to come back 🙂.

Front staff- asked two days in a roll to open pool in early afternoon. We were snapped at that the pool hours were posted on the keycard. Keycard reads Pool 08:00 - 20:00 h, indoor pool was also locked on day 2 until we asked them to open the outdoor pool. Breakfast should have a Wait to be Seated Sign or go to your assigned table, the older man running around complaining and grabbing a lady's breakfast plate and moving her to another table, is ridiculous considering numerous tables were available. We always had to get someone's attention after eating half our breakfast to get coffee.

We loved everything. From location so close to city center and seceda cable car to the front desk staff to the happy hour drinks and dinner. We also used the indoor sauna everyday and had dinner at the hotel one of the two nights we were there. Exceptional food and amazing staff. Breakfast also had lots of different options. We wish we could stay longer.

連住了四晚，每天晚餐的菜單都不同，每一道菜也都非常好吃，完全可以感受到飯店對於餐點的用心和努力。 房間每日都會進來進來打掃，保持的整齊且很乾淨。 寢具也很舒適乾淨，讓人日日好眠。

廁所地板很滑，淋浴完走出來後竟然摔了一大跤，膝蓋腫了很大一塊，還好反應夠快，不然頭差點撞到馬桶上，千萬要小心。 建議飯店要考慮淋浴室門口，加放止滑墊，而不是一塊薄布地墊。 周邊的道路在施工，每天早上五點半就會被吵醒，這幾天都沒辦法好好睡覺。但這也不是飯店的問題。

Everything was superb, even the view from the toilet was incredible! The staff were also exceptional and we consistently enjoyed breakfast and multi-course dinners.

The pillows were the only thing I did not love (I found them to be a bit lumpy) but I have high standards for pillows at home

Beautiful grounds. Quiet, yet very centrally located. Mostly, we loved the people and the setting and of course the world class breakfast and dinners expertly prepared. Thank you Lena, Peme, Nicola, Maria Erica and every staff member for enthusiastically embracing all of their guests.

While it did not interfere with us in any way, we found it odd that the outdoor portion of the swimming pool did not open until 15:00 unless by request apparently.

The property was lovely, well maintained, and well located to town.

This is family business run at its best. You see the pedantry in details and quality in performance. All is new, clean and properly built. It is not so usual everywhere. Craftsmanship of the details.

I didn't find anything wrong. We've been only two days. But truly nothing was negatively attracting attention. AN the viallage is at its best - Val Gardena is a miraculous place

We selected this hotel knowing that it would be a special place for us to stay in Ortisei! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were right! The Angelo Engel is a wonderful hotel with all the essential amenities you need to make your stay unforgettable! Our junior suite was super spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious! Location was ideal to explore Ortisei’s many points of interests and beyond! We recommend this hotel without reservations and would definitely stay here again.

Despite knowing ahead of time that there would be no air conditioning, the room was somewhat warm during the daytime. However it cooled in the evenings with the windows open enjoying the fresh mountain air.

Sijainti aivan erinomainen Ortisein keskustassa lähellä kaikkea mutta siltikään ulkoa ei kantaudu hälyä tai melua. Jokainen henkilökunnasta oli ystävällinen ja rento, tunnelma levollisen rauhaisa. Meillä oli puolihoito; sekä aamupala että illallinen olivat superhyviä. Erityismaininta viinisuosituksille ja illallisviinivalinnoille. Ei jäänyt ensimmäistäkään asiaa, mikä olisi voinut olla vielä hitusen paremmin.

It was fabulous from the moment we checked in and were kindly gifted a free upgrade! We found the hotel generally so wonderful, as well as the staff. Everyone was kind and helpful. We enjoyed the facilities onsite as well as the hotel bar that had such delicious wine options. We booked the rate inclusive of breakfast and dinner and the food was amazing. The hotel was conveniently located and had stunning views everywhere you looked! Highly recommend travelling in October, the weather was lovely for hiking.

This is super nit-picky but the pillows could have been comfier!

Es war sehr sauber, gut eingerichtet, das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und das Essen war hervorragend!

The location was great, cable carts for both Seceda and Alpe Di Sussi were walkable (~5mins). The rooms are cosy and clean, and the spa facilities are great. We also didn’t realise that afternoon snacks were included which was a great bonus.

Only satellite tv available in the rooms, which as an English speaker made the evenings a little dull when you just want to relax in your room before bed. It would be great if the hotel could offer streaming services (Netflix, Disney etc.)

Beautiful little boutique hotel just steps away from Main Street in Ortisei one of the most beautiful towns in the world. Hotel was elegant yet comfortable, staff super friendly and helpful. Bartender Nicola was always there on arrival in the afternoons with a smile and a fresh Hugu Spritz, which we took to the awesome pool. Restaurant serves great breakfast with fresh baked goods as well as lunch or dinner available if you stay in and the food and wine selection is excellent.
