I have been to Italy 8 times, and to Rome four times, and I believe this is the best location by a country mile. The hotel is situated just 50 to 100 meters from the Manzoni metro station. It is quite convenient to arrive here from Roma Termini station by taking the metro on line A (red line) towards Anagnina and getting off at the Manzoni station. Just two stops from Rome Termini. The place is safe, and there's also a nearby tram station and a bus stop. Thus, the location was the main reason for me to book this hotel. However, the hotel ticked the other facets. The staff are helpful and courteous. The room was clean and spacious, as was the washroom. The self-operated laundry was excellent; I wish other hotels would follow this trend so customers can clean their delicate garments with care. There is no need to worry about laundry staff ruining expensive clothes by using the wrong wash or dry cycle. The hotel has installed Miele products, and a full washing and drying cycle costs just 15 euros. The price during peak summer was reasonable. The rooms are quiet, and the sleep quality is very good.

The hotel is modern, spotless, and in a fantastic location, making it easy to explore Rome's most iconic attractions while still enjoying a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and exceptionally clean, with comfortable beds that made it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast offered a great variety of fresh, delicious options, and every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and eager to help with recommendations and any requests. What really made the stay memorable was the genuine hospitality of the team. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensure we had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Rome Colosseum to anyone visiting Rome and would gladly stay here again on my next trip.

I loved everything about this hotel, we initially reserved at BestWestern and the hotel got bought and renovated by Hilton, the transition was very smooth, the staff helped us with any questions we had. We did not have breakfast, but i could tell you about the amazing beds, pillows, TV, AC the cleaning ladies are amazing, phonic isolation is perfect and we had the best stay. 1 second away from the metro, really safe place and full of shops around to buy anything you wish for. There is even a shop INSIDE the hotel! Will be coming back for sure!

We were informed at our check in that we have to pay a deposit of 300 eur (7 nights stay) for assurance of minibar and room, it was unpleasing at first because we had not prepared this money but the reception staff were very happy to help us modify the deposit to a smaller sum so we can enjoy our holiday!

Incredible location! It’s just a brief walk to all the major attractions, and public transport options, including train and bus stations, are merely a minute away on foot. The staff here are outstanding and incredibly attentive. We were so impressed with our experience that we chose to cancel our reservations at another hotel and extend our stay with them for the last few nights of our trip to Rome. We enjoyed three days here, left for ten, and can’t wait to return for another three days. The service is truly exceptional! The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and overall, it’s just fantastic. A few things to keep in mind: The elevators are quite small, so if you're traveling with more than 2-3 people and luggage, you may need to make a separate trip. However, this isn't a downside as the elevators are quick—just a heads up. The staff is ready to assist with anything you need. Need transportation? They arranged our airport transfer. Plus, they provided guidance on using the buses and trains. Looking for food recommendations? They helped me discover some delicious dining options. Want to book tours? They’re more than willing to assist with that too. And if you're in the mood for a chat, they greet you warmly and bid you goodnight. They truly excel in every aspect. Overall, it’s an amazing place!

Shuttle was late and charged me anyway

It was located at a walking distance from major tourist attractions and cafes. The staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel was comfortable and very clean The breakfast was the most amazing one we had in Europe.

Over charged me! Make sure you review your receipt! I stayed 2 nights and they changed my rate from what was originally booked. In addition, they charged me "Staff Hotel Appreciation" when I did not approve of gratuity. When I reached out, they said it was optional tip they offer guests, however no one asked me about it until I reached out. I had to ask twice to get that credited.

L'hotel si trova non lontano dal Colosseo ed è vicino alla fermata Manzoni della metro A. L'albergo è stato di recente completamente ristrutturato diventando un hotel della catena Hilton Garden Inn. Colazione più che buona e con la solita macchinetta per fare i waffle. In camera c'è un grande televisore Samsung (penso da 55") ed un bellissimo armadio moderno con ante semi trasparenti che si illumina quando lo si apre.

Gli ascensori sono troppo piccoli. Per quanto riguarda la mancia sarebbe bene chiedere all ospite se la vuole dare e di quale importo senza farla già trovare nella fattura da pagare.

We enjoyed our stay with the high quality expected from a Hilton Hotel. Our King room was a good size with American type amenities. The Hilton staff were all courteous and the breakfast buffet was more than adequate. Taxi's are crazy expensive (35 Euros to City Center) The location was good, away from the busy City Center and walking distance to the Colosseum. The metro station on the corner and buses nearby were easy to use to get to City Center and Trastevere (1.5 Euro).

We stayed here previously last year when it was a Best Western and again this year since the remodel and have been very pleased. The hotel is clean and in a great area in walking distance to the Colosseum by and a short taxi ride to the middle of Rome.

My recent stay here was incredible! The location is perfect—situated in a quieter, less crowded part of the city while still being just a two-minute walk from the Metro A line stop. The metro was a huge time and money saver at only €1.50 per trip. There’s also an amazing little restaurant right across the street, Marco G Osteria, where I had some of the best food of my life. And a special thank you to the wonderful woman at the front desk (I believe her name was Sarah?), who treated me like royalty throughout my stay.

We thought our stay at Hilton Garden Inn Rome Colosseum was a fantastic base for Rome. The location was good, right near the metro and an easy stroll to the Colosseum, which made getting around Rome simple. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet enough to recharge. What really stood out though was the staff. Reception were friendly, relaxed and genuinely helpful, giving the hotel that easy-going, well-run feel that travellers really appreciate. A great stay in Rome with good people, good service and a location that makes sightseeing a breeze.

Stay at Hilton Garden Inn Rome Colosseum from April 23 to 25 under the name Lee. After having a very disappointing experience at another hotel the day before, I suddenly changed my plans and booked this hotel just one day in advance before coming to Rome. Despite the last-minute reservation, all of my requests were properly noted and arranged. From the moment I arrived, I already felt relieved. A young male staff member who seemed to be a trainee warmly welcomed me with genuine kindness, and his attitude immediately changed my mood after a stressful experience elsewhere. As a Hilton Honors Gold member, all of the benefits were properly recognized and provided, which made the stay very comfortable. The hotel is also in a fantastic location — just steps away from the metro station exit. Additionally, having a free ice machine and water dispenser on the first floor was surprisingly convenient during my stay. In fact, I enjoyed the hotel so much that I decided to cancel my original hotel reservation and extend my stay here for one more night. But the highlight of my stay was definitely Megan. I was very lucky to meet her because she happened to be working that day. She was incredibly, incredibly kind and professional. Even though she had only briefly seen my name during check-in, she remembered me the next day and quickly arranged everything so I could remain in the same room without needing to move after extending my stay. The entire process was handled so warmly and efficiently that I genuinely felt cared for as a guest. On the day of checkout, she greeted me again so warmly that it left a lasting positive impression. I truly want to praise her for making my stay in Rome such a pleasant and memorable one. The only downside of this hotel — though it may have been specific to my room — was that noise from the main road could be heard quite clearly inside the room. If you are sensitive to noise while sleeping, I would recommend requesting a room on the opposite side of the street in advance. Overall, this hotel completely restored my impression of hospitality after a very disappointing experience elsewhere in Rome. Room size is too small for double room. I went to Hilton garden in Singapore and Sri Lanka, those rooms and set up is very good. but Rome Hilton garden is spoiling the Hilton name and prestige.

Hotel was very clean and the staff were lovely. Ice machine in lobby. We had a king room and the room was very tiny. The bathroom was also very small, but we were really only in the room to sleep. Also, the hotel is located about a 25 minute walk to the colosseum so don’t think you’re goin g to be right beside the museum.

I have travelled the world, staying in Hilton’s various hotels including Garden Inn branded hotels. This was singularly our worst experience. From rooms being made up at 8:00 in the morning (noisy doors bashing, vacuum cleaners running etc) to the ‘breakfast’. Plenty of fruit and bread, but the warmer options were appalling. Location was perfect, right next to the metro and linked to all the important sites.

The noise was an issue, the walls are paper thin. Could do with a little sound proofing improvements. Also the lifts are slow and tiny.

We were told that for safety reasons they couldn’t put 3 of us in a room even though when we booked it online, it did not mention anything about how there couldn’t be 3. Rooms were tiny and the bathroom shower doesn’t even have a door to close, therefore every time you take a shower then water gets all over the floor. Terribly designed hotel rooms.

This Hotel’s gem are the Staff! The moment we checked in , Ilaria at the front desk gave us that warm italian Hospitality and friendliness. I must add,the whole front office as a team is great. The breakfast team are also fantastic, esp Jenny. Jenny welcomes everybody with a smile and i see her like many of her peers work hard and attentive. The breakfast crew works hard esp on busy times but they will acknowledge you and attend to whatever guests may need. The breakfast selections are good and tasty. The housekeeping team are also great at cleaning and refreshing the room. We are always greeted warmly upon interacting them at the hallways. The location is great. The metro is just a few steps out and couple stops to Roma Termini. The Colosseo is just a fee blocks away. There are few restaurant on the same block, Japanese, Chinese to name a few. This Hilton took over and this hotel was a Best Western property,one will see the difference of a Hilton hotel brand. It is providing a reliable, seamless, and positive experience where every guest feels valued. The people that works here i beleive were giving that service even before the brand took over. This makes the property one of the better Hilton hotel ive Stayed at. Thanks all

I have one major peeve about this hotel. The thermostat is set in a way that defies the actual weather. It was freezing in Rome in March, and yet guests were only allowed to use air conditioning rather than the heat. The rationale at the front desk? It was 20 degrees Celsius "last week," and it will be warm again "next month." Well, I'm sorry, but I wasn't a guest at your hotel last week, and I won't be the next month either. And from what I could tell, average temperatures in Rome in February and April do not justify turning off the heating option so that your guests don't want to get out of bed and step into an ice box in the mornings. Gaslighting your guests to suggest that nothing is really wrong with the hotel policy is not a way to address their discomfort. Other than that peeve, I have some real praise for this hotel. It is well situated in Rome. Some reviews suggest that the area in which the hotel is located is dingy and dangerous: yes the area is dingy here and there as is typical of big cities; dangerous? not that I ever noticed. It is located right on a metro stop, and close to buses and trams which make getting around Rome pretty easy. The breakfast at the hotel was very good. There was an enormous spread (scrambled eggs and bacon; fresh fruit and yogurts; extensive pastries and breads; a waffle maker and a self-serve espresso machine. The dining room was spacious enough to serve guests: there was never a wait. The staff working the dining room welcoming and seating guests and clearing the tables were always friendly. The room itself was a little drab (it seems that this Hilton Garden Inn, in its mid range of the chain's offerings, took over and renovated a Best Western) but very reasonably priced for Rome. The bathroom featured a very nice shower with a steady stream of hot water. The bed was comfortable. The hotel's location on a busy street meant that from my 3rd floor room, I could hear some traffic noise but I never felt that it was excessive.

I stayed here recently and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the breakfast at the restaurant was excellent; it catered to all diet types and was a highlight of the stay. However, there were several issues. One elevator was out of service due to construction, and the remaining ones are very small. My room had a persistent smell of wet socks, and while it looked newly furnished, the finish was poor—some electrical plugs and boards were loose and hanging off the walls. Being in a busy area, the noise level was quite high. It’s a convenient location, but the maintenance needs to be addressed.

The staff was very helpful. I traveled alone with my one year old and they were so helpful during breakfast, and not just then.

the reception staff was the best part of our stay. i personally liked the room too: it was quite spacious and newly renovated. really liked the closet and the bed. it was also really quite there; the soundproofing was great. the cleaning service was nice. the breakfast was good and fresh with wide variety of options. location! some may think the location is not so great and touristy “clean” but it was just 20 minutes walk from coliseum so that’s a great deal in my opinion. also the metro station was just right beside the hotel entrance.

for me the problem was the shower. it was impossible to fully close the glass door(?) in the shower so the water spilled all over the floor every time i took it. didn’t like the exterior of the hotel: it’s undergoing some renovation i guess but it’s kinda confusing especially if you have just arrived in the city and it’s dark outside. despite being good overall the breakfast was still kinda overpriced. i think it could be better for such a price. on the last day of our stay one of the two elevators broke down and we had to use the stairs when going out. it was ok for us but it took extra time to wait for it to arrive on the day of our check out because obviously with the bags we just couldn’t use the stairs. to sum up, I enjoyed the stay but still think that the price of it could be much lower considering all the things. like.. it’s a Hilton but somehow i couldn’t feel that Hilton experience.

The rooms are incredible tiny for the price you pay the shower is very small and the elevators are a little troublesome as my entire family got stuck in the elevator for 20 min and my sister had a panic attack as a result of the elevator stopping for no reason

Shower drain didn't work properly and water flowed out on bathroom and hallway floor. Couldn't take showers and had to move to another room later that day. Hotel provided a free breakfast for two to try and make up for the inconvenience.

Very friendly staff on reception, we were allocated a double room but we needed a twin room so went back down to reception and room changed without any problems. Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from and breakfast staff nice. Big shout out to Anna on reception who tried to get ahold of the transfer company to take use back to airport when it didn’t turn up and they called us a taxi.

Proximity to Collosseum and metro station. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was newly refurbished with a great bathroom. Clean and a good size.

Exterior and location of hotel not great

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! The staff members were accommodating and friendly at check-in and throughout our stay. We had a room with a king bed, very comfortable and quiet. The air conditioning was excellent and the room had a great hair dryer and iron. The breakfast was solid with many choices. The hotel is recently updated, so everything is fresh and clean. The location was perfect. We walked to many sights, easy walk to the colosseum and found nice restaurants along the way. We would stay here again if we return to Rome!

Was stuck in Rome after the Middle East caught fire again on March 1st 2026 and ended up having mix of the anxiety of not knowing how in would get home relieved by such a comfortable stay.
