A parte da piscina é muito boa, os funcionários são muito simpáticos e o hotel é bem limpo.

A cama do meu quarto era extremamente dura. E achei o café da manhã muito aquém do valor cobrado na estadia: apesar de grande variedade, a qualidade dos alimentos era bem média. Ex: sucos processados é uma panificação abaixo do potencial italiano.

great old world hotel in need of a refurb and modernisation. the hotel charges top premium rate, yet clearly is trying to save on everything and not giving the premium value.

Property was awesome. Beautiful villa converted into a hotel. Friendly staff.

We loved the location with views across the bay and its own beach (swim in the sea or the pool) accessed by a footbridge across the road and then steps (or use the lift + slope or borrow the golf cart). Service levels were high with many of the staff we talked to returning for the summer season each year. We like breakfast on the terrace and our dinner in the restaurant was the best we've had in many years.

The walk up the hill to the hotel from Santa Margherita. It isn't a long way but steep at the end of the day or with luggage - the smartphone digital map did not make this obvious in advance! Of course you can't have the location with views over the bay without being up a hill and we were unlucky to be there in the first 2026 heatwave.

An old, neglected hotel with outdated rooms, peeling walls, and a general feeling that maintenance has been forgotten. The breakfast was extremely basic, with canned fruit rather than fresh produce. Definitely more suitable for a 3-star hotel — and even then, a rating of 5 would be generous. Not a place I would recommend.

Very old hotel , old rooms , the poorest breakfast. There were many bags in my room . The fruits in breakfast are canned. The pool area are so lake old looks like a clubmad nothing FAR from five stars hotel

Beautiful property, excellent facilities and great location.

Beautiful location, right near the center of the town. Nice room, with marble bathrooms. Antiques everywhere. Beach was okay, water not as clear as Paraggi but still good .The main bonus of the property is the breathtaking view and all the greenery on the way to the beach.

The housekeeping stuff wouldn’t knock, would just barge in, while i was either sleeping or changing. Happened almost daily and would really bother me. Even if the do not disturb tag wasn’t hung, I believe stuff should knock and wait a few seconds to hear a response. Breakfast selection wasn’t that great, the egg station would have a very long wait, and the chef was visibly overwhelmed, so would mess up or forget the orders. The beach food was quite bad, ingredients weren’t fresh and selection you could order to eat at the loungers was very basic (sandwiches mainly). No sauna or cold plunge was also disappointing (for a hotel of this level). No coffee machine or kettle in the room was also disappointing as that meant you had to either order room service, or go downstairs in the morning which isn’t always ideal if you want to have a coffee first thing in the morning.

Breakfast was fantastic and in a gorgeous setting. The location was ideal and all the views were heavenly. The staff went above and beyond and had excellent recommendations.

I liked it all honestly. Easy walk to town and to the train station. The food was great, staff was lovely, and the grounds were immaculate.

Very disappointing experience. The hotel did not have any international power adapters available, making it impossible to charge my phone, smartwatch, headphones, or use my personal hairdryer. The staff showed little interest in helping and simply said they had no adapters in stock without offering any alternative solution. Considering the high room rates, I expected much better service. The overall customer service was poor and did not justify the price. I would not recommend this hotel, as there are neighboring hotels that offer better value and a far superior guest experience.

Best hotel i have ever stayed in. First class facilities and first class service. This hotel everything is top level. The staff are amazing and so friendly. A stay of a lifetime.

I love this hotel! Amazing location, breakfast, beach and pool areas. Staff in the beach area are incredibly attentive and helpful and so are happy hours staff, Breakfast too! The room was newly remodeled and bright. We had the basic room and it was just right for us. I highly recommend this hotel! Facility and flowers/gardens are impeccable. I also didn’t care for Portofino and think staying in Santa Margarita Ligure elevated our experience and is the better choice .

lunch by the pool was not good, the sandwich bread was cheap and our order got messed up twice. We mentioned this during checkout and the staff received our feedback well and reacted nicely!

Overall a very nice experience. All the local Italian staff were friendly and helpful as you would expect. However, the international staff at the front desk were unfriendly and not very helpful at all. No valet waiting to take our car when we arrived. The breakfast was basic buffet only and missing basic items like greek yoghurt, berries, french toast/pancakes etc The dinner however was a delight and would definitely return for the food and the view. The beach was great, although cold water in June. The grounds perfectly kept and beautiful. We found the lunch menu limited, but good quality food. The other guests were mostly quiet and respectful. Our room was beautiful if you like the old style Italian decor. But the bed was hard for us albeit very big. All round it was a great stay and we would return.

Property, location and view were great, room good and better than I expected from the photos, sea area with long chairs, life guards and bar-restaurant service was exceptional, great breakfast and evening piano bar. I have not tried the restaurant but from platea passing seemed good as well.

Everything’s was good, only comment I have mattress was too hard for my taste (but maybe this is very personal).

Imperial Hotel is super comfortable, staff are friendly, professional, respectful. Room has a beautiful view over the sea and the bay of St. Margeritha. Their "Beach" is stunning, the view, the vibe and the sun loungers, just WOW. Breakfast is a party starting your off with, it has so many choices and the seating on the balcony with a view on the bay, a real treat

The most horrible experience possible. The staff is truly incompetent and unhelpful. We will leave one day early regardless payment upfront that we were charged.

Il rubinetto del bagno non è per niente comodo se devi risciacquarti la bocca, troppo attaccato al lavandino. Sul balcone della camera 319 il fermo della persiana era rotto, indi continuava a chiudersi. Per il resto meraviglioso.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of history. I don’t know if it’s a recent thing but it felt like their main attention is on weddings. We were there on our honeymoon trip (staying at a couple hotels over 10 days). Didn’t think much of the fact that they never even acknowledged it verbally (at least) until we stayed at the other hotel and they went out of their way to bring attention to it. I would not stay their again for a special occasion but we did love their private beach.

Beautiful building with incredible marble structure and amazing ornate fresco ceilings in some locations. There is a beautiful walk to a private pool and seaside sun lounging area with dining and bar facilities. Staff incredibly attentive, really couldn’t have asked for more, one of the best experiences Ive had in any hotel.

En soi, ce n'est pas un souci, l'équipe n'a pas fait de bruit, mais aucune compensation si ce n'est profiter de la piscine de l'établissement voisin, cad traverser une route très circulante ... je trouve dommage, à ce prix là, de ne pas faire un effort d'attention - à défaut d'information en amont - car j'aurai peut-être réservé dans l'établissement voisin, justement...

Elegant hotel with a large, beautifully maintained garden and stunning views. The staff were excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional. The beach club and pool area were superb, making our stay truly relaxing and memorable.

The location, view, style, staff of this hotel is beyond amazing! I wish I could remember the name of the precious young lady who checked us in as she was the highlight of our stay. She was beyond a 5-star employee! VERY professional, sweet, charming, efficient, pleasant and helpful! The room was exquisite! Views, breathtaking! The breakfast (which were the only meals we ate), was ok. Nothing to write home about. The staff, inattentive. I picked up on those that had been to breakfast seemingly like several times, we treated very well. We only went 3 times. Food was decent, nothing spectacular.

My wife and I stayed for three nights for our wedding anniversary. I'm so pleased we stayed here; the hotel is absolutely stunning. Full of beautifully decorated bars and restaurants . The breakfast options were fantastic and the bridge/steps down to the beach/restaurants equally wonderful. Our room had a lovely view across the bay looking towards Portofino. I glad we chose to stay here in Santa Margherita rather than in Portofino - so much more to do

Hotel controls room temperature as everyone gets air conditioning, heat or just a fan. Your control is just on or off with 3 fan speeds. Our room was very hot and we could not get air conditioning as rooms on the other side of the building were cooler.

Hotel staff control the temperature of the rooms as their older system can only provide all rooms with heat, air conditioning or a fan. As a result, my room was very warm, they would not put on the air conditioning as some other rooms complained of to cold so they suggested I open the window. A 5 star hotel????? Extremely overpriced for a room I can't control the temperature in. They will blame all of this on the government as an out but I did get 5 hours of air conditioning on my 3rd day of complaining.
