The staff was most helpful! Special shout out to the dining room staff and the bar by the beach! Had my first lemon cello spritzer! So good! A wonderful place to relax and unwind!

I've stayed previously in 2025 and the prices have increased and the level of service has declined. The bar and room service closed at 23.00 for guests on a Friday and Saturday, the hotel has started to charge to use its sunbeds, it all felt a little like excess profiteering and poor value for money overall for a basic room costing c.€625 per night

Breakfast doesn’t have much variety. We were first given a room in a separate building that looked as if it was not part of the hotel and it was not good at all compared to the price we paid. They after we insisted they changed the room and put us in the hotel in a better room.

Sacrificed swimming pool for spa and minimal use. No bathing deck. Poor use of property, in my opinion.

Spent 3 days at this hotel and loved it. Had a situation on checkin where I was expecting a different room category than what I booked. I was totally looked after and I would give full credit to the young gentleman at front desk who was SO understanding and professional. Beach Club, Spa, Breakfast and the view from my room could only be describe by one word OUTSTANDING!!!! I also went to the Imperiale Hotel after and to be honest I preferred The Continental. Please let me have that fantastic room 58 again. I look forward to returning next summer. Oh and the guys at the beach club assisted me with first aid when I was bitten by a fish 🥴

We had two adjacent rooms, very different despite paying the same price for both (one very small), loud noises from the elevator, the rooms were a bit worn out.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Continental in Santa Margherita Ligure! From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent—everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The room was amazing, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, and the entire property was exceptionally clean. You can tell how much care and attention goes into keeping the hotel looking and feeling so great. We truly enjoyed our stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. 100% would recommend Hotel Continental to anyone visiting Santa Margherita Ligure, and we will absolutely be back!

L'emplacement de l'hôtel est juste fantastique, le restaurant panoramique est très bon et l'équipe est d'une gentillesse extrême et professionnelle. Notre Suite était parfaite et la vue était superbe. la localisation très proche du centre est un atout. La plage sur les rochers et les sauveteurs sont TOP.

Le distributeur de glaçons dans le couloir génère du bruit quand les personnes s'en servent la nuit. Hormis ce point tout était parfait.

We enjoyed our four nights here. Particularly the beach restaurant (Antonio was so welcoming and attentive) and the beach itself. Our room was on the top floor so it was quiet. The hotel is on the edge of town but an easy walk to restaurants and the SML/Portofino train station.

Loved the old style room with wood and older exquisite bathroom tiles . Breakfasts were superb as were the views . Staff were excellent and most helpful .

The room I was moved from was underwhelming .. had a nice view but bathroom was old , stained and needed a Reno .

I loved staying in this beautiful hotel. The views at breakfast, sitting out on the balcony overlooking Santa Margherita, were stunning. We also loved the outdoor space and sea access.

We felt the cost of using the sunloungers should have been included in the stay.

Breakfast isnt really tasty, except from fruits, cereal and yogurts. But thats the only problem.

Beautiful property. Staff so helpful! Helped us arrange a late night taxi to get diapers when everything nearby was closed. They all got to know us and were very friendly and helpful!

We had the pleasure of going to lunch at the La Grigioa restaurant at the hotel. From the moment we sat down our server, Antonio, was attentive, helpful and beyond personable. There were many full tables but Antonio made you feel as if he was serving just you! We were not staying at the hotel, but at the town over. It was a must that we came back again before we left!

This is a beautiful hotel in an amazing location with exceptional staff and extraordinary food. We never want to eat anywhere else when we stay here. The private beach is fantastic. With the beach restaurant and hotel dining room, there is never a reason to eat anywhere else.

Die Lage des Hotels mit Blick auf die Bucht von Santa Margherita ist außergewöhnlich schön. Wir hatten eine Juniorsuite gebucht, die direkt oberhalb des Meeres lag. Der Ausblick und die Atmosphäre der sehr geschmackvoll und modern eingerichteten Zimmer lässt alles von einem abfallen und rechtfertigt auch den Preis. Übertroffen wurde das nur noch von der Freundlichkeit und der Herzlichkeit des Personals.

Die Sitzmöglichkeiten im Gartenbereich könnten komfortabler sein, dann würde man sich noch mehr im sehr schön gestalteten Gartenbereich aufhalten.

I have stayed in most of the Santa margheritta top hotels and the continental has the best views . Friendly and efficient staff. Good location. Will stay again . The details like free water and towels change made our lives easier

The location of this hotel is great, walking distance to town. The hotel is located on the ocean, which is great. There were a few things which caused us to give this 3 stars: (1) short, uncomfortable beds (i am 6'4" and my legs hung over the bed by 10"); it is rare to get beds this short; plus the mattress was very hard and uncomfortable; plus the sheets were low quality. (2) no shampoo was provided in the room (just a body wash), which is what you would find in a lower quality hotel; a bad place to skimp in my opinion. (3) our 15 year old wasn't allowed to use the pool/sauna (rule is 16 years old minimum) even though he was with us and we just wanted to use it for 15 minutes. (4) was not told that there was a $10 charge to use the lounge chairs by the pool.

We signed up for a Seafront room with a balcony and got a tiny hillside room! Thank goodness we were only there for a night! Would never stay there again!

This has to be one of the nicest hotels anywhere. Our private balcony off our room with chairs and sunbeds was a gorgeous surprise. Close to the train station to walk - even with heavy luggage! The location, the views... everything takes your breath away.

I loved this hotel. Everything about it! The hotel staff were so friendly in all areas - restaurants, spa, front desk, etc. Lunch at the beachfront restaurant was delicious, but apertivos on the beach (with service from the bar) was lovely after a dip in the Ligurian Sea. Easy walk to many restaurants in town, and felt like a very safe area. Also just a few minutes to walk to the train station or ferries to get to other towns along the coast.

The property was just gorgeous. I was sitting on the side overlooking the harbor, the view was just amazing.The on site restaurant(s) was amazing. We tried several in town that didn’t match up.

One could only access the pool for two hours per day, which were included into your room rate as a misleading free spa treatment. To access the pool you had to walk through the spa where one was met with staff to sign in for your two hours. All other spa amenity rates were on the high side. Limited vegetarian options

The Continental Hotel in Santa Margherita Ligure left truly wonderful impressions. The location is absolutely stunning — surrounded by the sea, palm trees, charming streets, and breathtaking views of the Ligurian coast. We especially loved the room with a terrace overlooking the sea — waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying such a beautiful view every morning was a real pleasure. The interior is stylish and elegant, designed in a classic Italian style with great attention to detail and atmosphere. The staff were very attentive, welcoming, and genuinely caring about the comfort of the guests. A special mention goes to the spa area: although not very large, it is high-quality, cozy, and beautifully maintained. The pool with a view of the Ligurian coastline was an absolute highlight and the perfect place to relax after long walks. Another great advantage is the convenient location near the railway station, which makes traveling along the coast and reaching the hotel with luggage very easy and comfortable. A place we would truly love to return to again.

Outstanding property and location. A few minutes walk from the station and town, so convenient. Beautiful views and sea swimming. They informed my by whatsapp when my room was ready to check in early.

Lifeguard refused to give me an extra towel at the beach, despite asking more than once. Said ‘this is the rule’. Utterly disappointing for a hotel like this and overshadows the whole experience, bringing down the rating.

The staff was incredible and so nice and accommodating. The room was spacious and they made sure to give me a great view even though I didn’t opt for one. The breakfast was incredible and the view and location was so ideal. I cannot express how much I enjoyed my stay here. I was quite sad to leave.

Absolutely nothing

The view from the room is Great. The room itself is unremarkable but quite adequate. Breakfast could be improved (egg dishes are an extra cost) but the terrace is faoand the staff are friendly. Food at dinner was recommendable.

We liked everything: the place, the building, the spa area, the surroundings, the scenary and the food.

Absolutely wonderful hotel in the most stunning location! Clean beautiful room with amazing sea views but the most endearing quality of the hotel has to be the staff who were a joy and very professional. We also recommend the spa which has an amazing outlook & great facilities & again warm friendly professional staff & therapists. We cannot speak more highly of our experience & we shall definitely return!
