Nos alojaron en la última planta y había mucho ruido que parecía corresponderse con maquinaria del hotel. Día y noche saltaba un ruido que te dejaba dormir ni descansar.

The quality of the service and the people attitude to help us solving a problem of intermittent noise from the AC which was keeling us awake during the night

An intermittent noise from the AC unit kept us awaken during the first night. Nobody could help us until the following day when a technician diagnosed a defect from a pump. There was nobody available during the night so the reception desk person kindly offered us to switch room during our second day and gave us 3 free breakfasts

Staff are very friendly and helpful, Caen has a very relaxed culture, while the staff were friendly and relaxed, they were also very professional.

We were very happy to stay at this hotel, and here is why. The hotel has a great location on a lovely square, close to the city centre. There is also a public underground car park just a 2-minute walk from the hotel entrance, which was very convenient for us. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff at reception, and check-in was quick and smooth. Our child’s bed was already prepared for us, which was a very thoughtful touch. Although the hotel is not new, it is clear that the staff pay attention to its appearance and to the quality of the services they provide. Our room was cozy and clean, with a small balcony overlooking the square. The towels and bed linen were fresh and spotlessly clean, which we really appreciated. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would be happy to come back.

The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast. We would have appreciated a little more variety and a wider selection of options.

Ubicació excel·lent. Cèntric però tranquil. L'hotel no té aparcament propi però hi ha un aparcament públic just a la plaça del davant. És recomanable demanar a l'hotel tiquets de l'aparcament per 24 o 48h. Esmorzar correcte. Staff amable i eficaç.

1. Parking J'ai été très mal renseigné concernant les possibilités de parking dans le centre-ville (gratuit entre 19h et 9h30) alors que j'avais justement demandé des informations à la réception dès mon arrivée. J'ai retrouvé ma voiture à la fourrière le lendemain matin de mon arrivée car il y avait le marché (aucune information de non stationnement sur place. L'hôtel était au courant mais ne m'a rien dit). J'ai dû annuler mon déplacement au Mont St Michel. Tout ceci m'a coûté 225€ sans parler du stress et du désagrément occassionnés. Il est difficile de se garer le soir en dehors des parkings souterrains car le centre-ville est piétonnier et il y a des travaux avec accès bloqués (saison estivale). 2. Chambre Ce n'est pas une vraie chambre triple, mais une chambre double avec un fauteuil-lit déplié au milieu de la chambre. La SDB équipée d'une baignoire et non d'une douche est peu pratique et exigüe (les WC se trouvent dans la SDB). Seulement 2 patères disponibles pour 3 personnes. Les serviettes de bain ne peuvent pas être étendues et donc ne sèchent pas. Le week-end, il y a des fêtards sur la place de la République qui créent des nuisances sonores jusqu'à très tard. Ce n'est donc idéal d'avoir la fenêtre qui donne sur la place. 3. Petit-déjeuner Classique sans originalité. Pas de produits bio et sans gluten. 4. Climatisation Elle est bloquée à 25°C de manière centralisée, ce qui est une T° minimale élevée. Pour pouvoir baisser la T°, il faut demander à l'hôtel pour pouvoir le faire soi-même. Autrement, la climatisation est bruyante dès qu'elle réglée à 2 sur 3.

Super comfortable hotel room, not huge, but with a lovely view over the square in front. The receptionist Daphne was perfect, so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. Location is ideal in the centre, and parking is right there. Would love to say again.

Airco werkte prima maar zoals alle airco’s veel lawaai. Met open raam last van gezoem van apparatuur op de binnenplaats. ( Wij hadden kamer 111 op de 1e verdieping) Er lagen wel oorpluggen, maar heb deze niet gebruikt.

Great rooms looking out into the square where you can watch and listen to the hubbub of French life going by. Excellent breakfast with the key foods and well presented. Very helpful hotel staff and a neighbouring restaurant on the ground floor provides good food; and with seats in the square it’s very handy for a casual drink in a lovely setting.

Our family of five truly appreciated our stay at the Best Western Royal Caen Centre. The location was great, in close proximity to shopping and amenities, wonderful restaurants and neighborhoods with charm, and historical sites (notably the castle). The rooms are clean, comfortable, and perfect size. The staff at reception work very hard to ensure all goes smoothly. We were lucky that our rooms overlooked the Place de la République and loved the balcony. Air conditioning worked great despite that our stay was during a heat wave. Breakfast options The property is also well located for side trips to Normandie, close access to major arteries. In addition, the location felt very safe.

This was our 2nd stay at The Best Western in Caen and we thought both visits were excellent.Staff so helpful, rooms clean, carpark easy and convenient. Breakfast good value for money. All in all a pleasant stay

The breakfast was great and there was plenty of choice and good quality. The location is very central to the shipping district and good restaurants.

The air-conditioning was appalling. The receptionist didn't tell us that it is controlled centrally, so when we went to cool down the room it would reset to 24 degrees. It was cooler to keep the window open. Given the hotel markets itself as having air conditioning this is a problem. I was unimpressed that the shower over the bath was so low and was positioned that it flooded the floor after a shower. The so called Queen bed was two single beds pushed together. As a couple or meant that it was uncomfortable to sleep together.

Dirty bed cover....brown marks. Uncomfy hard lumpy bed and lumpy pillows.....didn't sleep fot 2 nights stay. Door slamming....needs soft close on doors and respect shhhhush signs. My sister had to change rooms as carpet smelt of faeces. The staff obviously knew of this, as they changed her without even seeing it. Not a good stay for either of us. Tbh I was disgusted. Bathroom too small.

Fantastic check in. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Rooms clean and breakfast and restaurant great.

Perfect location. Great staff and very accomodating. Has A/C but capped at 21.5 celcius aka 70+ F. I asked and they did have one fan they could loan me to help. Breakfast had variety (need to let them know night before if you are eating and when so they can accomodate and record charge). Very friendly staff.

Perfect location, interactive and attentive receptionist. Clean, big rooms and a super-large bed. I'm so glad I booked this hotel. Our room on the 1st floor overlooked the square and we had no issue with noise at all; there was also A/C in the rooms. Book with confidence "Top Notch"

The hotel is very well presented and in a good location close to bars, shops, restaurants and sites. I would say the room I had (4th floor) was very small with a tiny en-suite. There wasn’t a great amount of storage in the room other than some open shelves and a small wardrobe, no bedside locker or drawers. I’m not too sure that the air conditioning functioned as required as it didn’t seem to cool the room temperature down however all in all a reasonably priced hotel

The staff are fantastic, the hotel is in a great location and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Bar - not very cosy. Serviced by same person on reception, which meant that if they were busy, you couldn’t get a drink. Shower – only possible to have a shower above a bath which isn’t great for older people. Also, when we told about the shower we were told at the last moment that our room only had a bathtub. This caused us a bit of anxiety, because we thought there was no shower at all. But it turned out there was a shower - it was just above the bath. This was probably lost in translation, but it did cause a some anxiety as we thought we would have to take baths while we were staying there. No hooks to hang a coat on. This is true in most hotels, but we really wish coathooks would be provided.

Personnel au petit soin, literie parfaite, petit déjeuner parfait, c'est propre. L'emplacement parfait aussi pour shopping et visite de la ville.

Le bruit venu de la place au pied de l'hôtel la nuit. Je pense qu'il n'y a pas grand chose à faire, surtout durant les belles périodes, mais l'hôtel met à disposition des bouchons d'oreilles, ce qui est bien vu. On se demandait pourquoi au début, on a compris ensuite. C'est malheureusement le seul point moyen.

We had a lovley stay for just one night at the hotel and wished it had been for longer but we will be back one day. The front desk staff are amazing - so friendly, welcoming and informative. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the square with access to a small balcony - a beautiful room. The hotel obviously appreciate that there may be noise from outside but do provide guests with ear plugs which is a nice touch. We chose to have breakfast in the hotel and this was really nice with all that you would expect in a French hotel. One minor negative is about the machine to boil the eggs - a regular 5 minute egg isn't cooked at all which is a shame to waste food - perhaps a sign to indicate cooking for a little longer or turn up the water temp. A minor point but only because food was being wasted. The hotel is ideally situated to wander the city from either the old city, the shops or the many restaurants in the area. There is also a small bar in the hotel where you can sit and enjoy a drink or take it to your room if you wish. If you are staying in Caen I would definately recommend this hotel - yes for the location, parking opposite, quality of room and breakfast but above all for the front desk staff and I am sorry I didn't catch their names; gentleman on checking in and out, a young lady in the early evening and a young chap at night who kindly booked us a taxi for the next day.

The room was a bit too warm and the thermostat was impossible to adjust so we opened the window facing the square. it was so noisy as it got later so we had to close the window.

Driving to the hotel by means of Google Maps is a nightmare as G/Maps produces very strange route results lately. It takes you to the point across the plaza opposite the hotel from where it suggests you take a walk. The problem is compounded by the road repairs of Rue de Strasbourg preventing you from entering Place de la Republique. But as I was told by the hotel staff in view of this repairs cars are allowed to circumnavigate the Place via the pedestrian-only lanes. So you can drive the perimeter of Place de la Republique strait to the hotel's door, park your car in front of it to unload your luggage, and then park in the underground garage in front of the hotel. The hotel is very good. The location is excellent. The front desk staff are great, very helpful and amicable. The room was of good size with all amenities, clean, quiet and sound proof. The only problem was the a/c didn't work well although i'ts possible it wasn't on due to the off season.

No bartender on duty at the time. Bar was run by check in staff so could not easily get a drink when check in is busy. Plenty of other places to go nearby but hotel lost out on additional revenue by not having bartender on duty.

Hôtel très bien situé dans le centre ville de Caen, chambre très propre et très confortable, et personnel accueillant et très chaleureux ! Petit déjeuner fourni et délicieux !

Un seul petit souci est qu’on ne pouvait pas régler la climatisation dans la chambre et il faisait chaud (24°C), on ne pouvait pas baisser la température, ni même à 20°C, mais à part ce détail c’était parfait !
