-Pas de chausson dans la chambre pour aller au SPA, soit disant il faut demander à la réception des chaussons que j’imagine payant. -Impossible d’avoir un fer à repasser dans la chambre. -sur booking j’ai réservé une chambre doit je devait etre entre le 4ème et 5ème étage,.je me suis retrouvé au 2ème. Vue sur ventilation, et l’autre chambre la fenêtre ne fermait pas donc bruit permanent de la rivière. -boîte de community vide, durant 2 jours. -Hotel beaucoup trop onéreux pour la qualité du service L’aimabilité de certaine personne à la réception clairement à revoir. Encore un établissement qui se paye le luxe de dénigrer certain service rien que sur le fait qu’il soit placé dans un lieu touristique. Je ne renouvelerai certainement pas mon expérience dans cet hotel.

Absolument tout, localisation hyper pratique, hôtel magnifique avec des prestations de grande qualité, un personne aux petits soins, tout est superbe, je recommande cet hôtel à 3000%. Le spa et espace piscine et jacuzzi est superbe. Le petit déjeuner tout est frais et bon le service est top. Nous n’avons pas pu tester le restaurant malheureusement mais un service en chambre avec des burgers délicieux. Les chambres sont ultra modernes confortables et tout domotique insonorisé et service de ménage superbe aussi. Milles mercis à toute l’équipe pour notre séjour nous reviendrons avec grande joie :)

Wellness ist toll, schön und kompakt inkl. Naktbereich Whirlpool. Etwas gut einsehbar von Fenster und Terassen auf dieser Seite, wenn man sich nicht stört daran 😅 Finnische Sauna gut, jedoch Holzplanken recht heiss, kommt hier noch Wärme von unten? Denn auch die Steinplatten bis zur Tür sind feurig heiss und man verbrennt sich praktisch die Füsse bis zum Ausgang. Sonst schön.

The room was very nice, but since it was close to the river, it was a bit loud. The breakfast was great, the SPA area was very nice, and the staff were amazing.

We celebrated a birthday and several nights in Zermatt. The Hotel Alpenhof is an exceptional location to stay. Beautiful rooms, restaurant, bar, spa, etc. Beyond the walls - the staff is remarkable. They are aware and eager to make sure every aspect of your visit is perfect. I highly recommend. Notes: We shared a family suite with porch views of the Matterhorn; ate breakfast each morning; enjoyed the sister restaurant at the Hotel Julien and the the cigar bar with Ali to cap off the birthday celebration.

The location and view

The location was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t get to try the breakfast because we had to leave early to go hiking but it looked very good. The hotel pick up from the train station was also nice.

Our room had a beautiful view of the lake, but unfortunately, it was on a lower level right in front of the water and was quite loud. I specifically booked a room with a balcony so I could relax and read in the afternoon, but the noise from the river made it difficult to enjoy, so we ended up not using the balcony. The restaurant also closed fairly early for lunch, so after returning from our hike, we had to go elsewhere to find something to eat.

Quelle merveilleuse expérience ! Accueil parfait, chambre climatisée et superbement décorée. Des attentions qui transforment le séjour comme le tea time entre 16 et 17H, avec ses pâtisseries délicieuses. Un petit déjeuner parfait. Et un spa ainsi qu’une piscine superbes. L’emplacement au sein de Zermatt est idéal. Tout est réuni au sein de l’Alpenhof pour n’avoir qu’une envie, y revenir.

We booked design junior suite and room, the suite located on 5th floor and No elevator access only stairs which made it difficult for mother to stay at, then we were moved to normal double room and refused to refund us. The stuff are rude and I guess they don’t welcome people from GCC, we were given worse rooms with no view and at restaurants even window seats are available for breakfast they give us random seats. We went to use the pool which we were told it’s open at 7 AM and the lady who was there told us you are too early to swim and the time was 7:45 and nothing was working in the pool. The hotel far from city center. We came to enjoy time with family and they ruined it.

Loved being close to it not on the Main Street. The room was comfortable and we liked the overall size of the hotel. The breakfast was just what we needed to send us on our day of hiking. The staff was very polite and helpful. This was our first time in Switzerland and our first stay of our trip and we really enjoyed our stay.

Not much to say here. Maybe fans to move air in the room at night and the hot tub could be a little warmer. Nothing that would keep us from coming back again.

Hotel Alpenhof made our stay in Zermatt absolutely wonderful. Even though we initially went to the Alpen, they immediately came to pick us up without hesitation, and from that moment on the service was exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. The location is perfect — just a 5–7 minute walk to town and the train station, making it easy to explore without feeling too close to the crowds. Our room was fantastic, with dual sinks, a comfortable sitting area, and a peaceful river view. And truly, don’t worry if you don’t have a Matterhorn view from your room; you’ll see that iconic peak plenty of times throughout your stay in Zermatt. The only thing that surprised us was the “naked” spa area. We’re a bit more modest, so the full nudity caught us off guard and we didn’t fully take advantage of the steam room or sauna. But that’s a cultural preference, not a reflection on the hotel itself. Overall, Alpenhof delivered comfort, kindness, and a great alpine atmosphere. We’d happily stay again.

Incredible property. By far the best room we stayed in during our 8 day trip. Breakfast was 10/10, restaurant dining was delicious. The room itself was fully equipped, the free minibar (first topup free) was a nice touch also.

We got upgraded to remodeled room. It was beautiful. One of the best. We could see the Matterhorn from our balcony. Good air condition. Good breakfast. Hotel bar staff nice and provided ice. Great sauna and steam room included. Note, swimsuits not allowed so something for some is to consider. Super clean. Free shuttle to train station. Would absolutely stay again. Was not super expensive for Swiss standards.

Ambiente lindo, aconchegante. Café da manhã muito bom, hotel muito bem localizado. Oferece transporte gratuito para estação de metrô, o que facilita demais.

Eramos um grupo grande, foram 4 quartos e um deles o ar condicionado não funcionou e não tinha ventilador disponível em pleno verão europeu. Minha mãe e meu sobrinho só conseguiram dormir pq na madrugada a temperatura caiu um pouco e deixou o quarto fresco, mas foi preciso ficar com as portas e janelas abertas.

The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the location of the hotel as it was in a quiet location away from the business of the centre of town but still very close to all amenities. Our room was very cosy and we liked having a balcony overlooking the river. The food in the restaurant was of a really high standard and we particularly enjoyed the variety of food offered. Mr Evans (Restaurant Manager) was always very helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. We also enjoyed the complimentary coffee and cake at 16:00 - a welcome pick me up after a long day in the mountains!

The one who work in resturant is amazing

I don’t like the way how I treated by the receptionist. She took my card and write it down the security code rather than sending me link to pay the deposit myself. When I asked her to do so she become angry. Yes it is about trust and I am expecting to receive big simple and understand the situation as a tourist and respect the privacy as well

From a very prompt pick up request from the train station in an electric mini bus to the swift check out everything was top notch. This hoteliers family are very successful and have thought of absolutely everything to made our stay extremely comfortable and relaxing putting a smile on our faces. Breakfasts and dinner were outstanding with food, drinks, service and beautiful wooden fixtures and fittings. They surprised me with a decorated table and warm birthday wishes. The control panel for separate lighting zones mirror and towel heater, modern shower and double sink areas were as stylish as the main area of the room. Balcony view was special overlooking the fast flowing river and Zermatt’s wooden chalet type buildings. Very comfortable bed gave good nights’ rest every time. Good coffee and tea in the room. Chocolates at bedtime was thoughtful, as well as rucksack to hire or buy. Plentiful choices of spa treatments. Location is easy for walking to shops, restaurants, tourist office and trains and is near the Bergbahnen for Matterhorn Alpine Crossing. Tv displays Matterhorn’s current temperature and wind speed at 3883 metres. Plush bathrobes were so comfy I spent a lot of time wearing one.

Staying at this family-owned hotel was the best experience by far of anywhere we stayed in Switzerland. We truly cannot say enough about the incredible staff who make you feel like family the moment you enter and go above and beyond in every way. The rooms were also large, super clean and filled with amenities. Even a backpack hanging on your door that you could use for daily hiking trips; they literally thought of everything. The decor was indicative of the region and the Valais black-nosed adorable sheep. Sooo cozy and inviting! Even sheepskin and wool blankets on the outdoor chairs on the balcony. We ate at their outside patio for snacks and drinks, as well as the amazing breakfast buffet, and dinner at one of their family owned restaurants (Julen) which was superb. The chef changes the menus daily and uses only the freshest ingredients. They raise their own cows and sheep, and you can even go visit and cuddle with their sheep. The shepherd Paul is the grandson of the original owner. We also enjoyed the sauna and outdoor hot tub. We would have preferred for it to be open a little past 8 PM but otherwise it was perfect. I cannot wait to come back in the winter and ski here and cannot think of staying anywhere else. I highly recommend.

We got an Alpine Chic Room, and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that it has a view of the Matterhorn from the balcony. The room was well appointed and comfortable for 3 (2 adults and 1 child). Breakfast selection was good and filling. All staff were warm and hospitable. My son also liked the trampoline in the hotel grounds. Nonetheless, this hotel is a great choice in Zermatt.

The room lacked hanging rods, and has no privacy upon exiting the shower which might be an issue if you're staying in the room with friends or older kids. They also don't have hotel slippers, which is weird considering that the room floor finish is a bit rough/cold.

For a hotel that bills itself as a five-star establishment, the standard of service is simply appalling

They offered us upgrade for two of our rooms which we really appreciated, and we got a room with nice views of the matterhorn! the spa was nice and the massage was really good. Bus stop is really close to the hotel!

Although we got breakfast included in our booking we still have to pay extra for cooked options!

Beautiful hotel, well cared for and clean. We had a balcony room with an outlook over mountains, and that had recently been refurbished The decor was lovely and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, lovely dining room with nice mountain views. Hotel staff were fabulous - friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a gorgeous swimming pool and spa area (sauna, steam room, open air jacuzzi etc), we made use of this and loved it. The hotel is well located, close to central Zermatt restaurants, cafes, shops, etc.. and of course the Gornegrat bahn. The attention to detail at this hotel is excellent and second to none. We felt very well looked after throughout our stay. It was perfect for us, we loved the hotel and Zermatt. If we were to return to Zermatt, we would definitely stay here again.

Everything and everyone! The staff and facilities were amazing! The room was very comfortable , and the spa excellent. The restaurant and bar were excellent! Ali was a phenomenal bartender and very informative!

The hotel didn't reach out to us prior to arrival to determine our needs, that is it.

This hotel was a home away from home - a welcoming and caring environment. From the moment we walked up to the front desk to our departure, the services were first rate. We loved the location because it was a short walk to the train station, was located along a stream where we could enjoy a short stroll, and the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was perfect. They easily accommodated our party’s gluten free dining needs and they provided traditional Swiss fare. Among their wonderful surprises was packing a lunch for us to take with us the morning we departed. That gesture alone helped start us off at our next destination after a long train ride.

A really lovely central hotel. Very stylish in a traditional way. Plenty of choice at breakfast and nice that non dairy milk was on offer. My only small criticism was that being slightly out of season a lot of restaurants were closed until next month and even ones that stated they were open on their website actually weren’t. I spoke to a receptionist and asked if she could find out which were actually open and let me have a couple of options that were, but she didn’t get back to me. So we went into the tourist information board and they were only to happy to, and gave us a list. I usually use hotel front of house for restaurant recommendations so felt this was a little unhelpful. There were often 2 receptionists working and the hotel certainly wasn’t busy. Hence 4/5 score.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are comfortable and what a surprise to see The Matterhorn from our balcony! This hotel is just a few minutes from the train station and about a 7 minute walk into the center of town. We were not here to ski but they definitely have several shuttles to aid in transport. Our stay was made even better by the accommodating staff. Special shout outs to Ali, Coco and Karen. Thank you all for a wonderful stay!
