Decor was very old fashioned, it needs a complete refurbishment. Bathroom was tiny and poorly laid out, though clean enough.

Reviewed Sep 8, 2026L'albergo, in una tranquilla zona residenziale di Mestre, è in pieno stile anni '70, il che per me è una cosa bella, perché mi ha riportato indietro nel tempo, a quando da bambino andavo in vacanza al mare coi miei. Essenziale e senza fronzoli, è tenuto in maniera impeccabile dal personale, gentile e disponibile. Ricca la colazione a buffet, con buona varietà di salato e dolci, anche fatti in casa. I collegamenti con Venezia (soprattutto tram diretto) sono buoni.
Ero andato a Venezia per la Mostra del Cinema. Per la prima volta sono stato costretto ad alloggiare a Mestre, anziché Venezia (avendo prenotato all'ultimo minuto). Come avevo sempre immaginato, non è la scelta migliore, soprattutto se si hanno i biglietti per le proiezioni serali. Il ritorno a notte fonda dal Lido è da incubo: oltre all'immancabile assalto ai traghetti per Venezia, si somma l'assalto alla diligenza ai bus notturni a Piazzale Roma, i quali passano ogni mezz'ora. Uno scenario infernale per chi viene via distrutto dal festival, e deve arrivare fino a Mestre. Naturalmente non è un problema di questo hotel in particolare, che è perfetto per chi vuole semplicemente visitare Venezia, magari con bimbi piccoli. L'unica pecca della stanza, è la mancanza di un piccolo frigo, che con il caldo torrido di questa estate s'è fatta sentire.

The all rest in the hotel was a disastor. There was a humidity in my room. The key could not open its doors for minutes. İn first day, the old man in the receprion was never polite. I think he forgets to smile for his rest of life. Evalator was broken. There was not any refrigrator in the room. Moreover, I had to carry my bags to my room by stairs. Never and ever...

Para viajar a la zona céntrica o hacia la estación de tren se hallan las paradas de buses frente al hotel, lo que es ideal cuando tienes mucho equipaje para transportar. La habitación era confortable, contaba con buena ducha y cama cómoda. Asimismo la limpieza resultó ejemplar.
El aire acondicionado no era muy bueno.

Voljela bih kad bi iznajmljivači svih vrsta shvatili koliko dobar jastuk znači za kvalitetan odmor...ovi su užasno tanki, možda su kao novi nekada i vrijedili, ali sada kao da ih nema. Čudno, nije bila niti 1 čaša u sobi. Mini bar nema.

Reviewed Jun 29, 2026L’hotel San Carlo lo consiglio per chi vuole visitare Venezia senza spendere cifre molto alte. La struttura e’ semplice e un po’ vecchiotta. La camera piccola con bagno cieco ma molto pulita. Parcheggio disponibile alle spalle dell’albergo. La signora della reception gentilissima. A pochi minuti a piedi si raggiunge il tram che porta in 15” a Venezia. Presso l’hotel si possono acquistare i biglietti per il tram, e per i mezzi di trasporto di Venezia.
La doccia con tenda e la mancanza di frigo. Vicino all’hotel c’è poco. Se si vuole mangiare qualcosa occorre spostarsi in centro a Mestre che e’ a 3 fermate di tram o un quarto d’ora a piedi.

Ci ha mostrato dove poter parcheggiare gratuitamente l'auto anche dopo il soggiorno, e dove poter prendere i mezzi più vicini. La stanza era perfetta

Reviewed Jun 21, 2026San Carlo is a basic but cosy European hotel. The hotel is pretty old and worn, but if you don't need shiny new things, this could be your place. The tram stop which gets you to Citta Alta is a 5-10 minute walk away. The staff is very nice and speak several languages. Breakfast selection is good for Italian standards.
The hotel needs a bit of renovation. Wall papers, floors, drapes are starting to show quite a bit of wear.

Reviewed Jun 21, 2026Хотелът е в близост до жп линия и път, но не е много шумно. Мястото е удобно - в близост има спирка на 5 мин пеша, от която се стига за 20 мин до Венеция с автобус. Има 3 паркоместа пред хотела безплатни. Нашата кола беше точно под стаята ни. Стаята е скромно обзаведена, но удобна. За стандартите на Италия и за хотел от 3 звезди смятам, че е доста прилична.
Обзавеждането в банята е малко остаряло, водата след къпане излизаше извън банята. Вратата на терасата трудно се отваряше.

Reviewed Jun 8, 2026Excellent staff, nice breakfast, very quiet location, and a lovely view of the canal. Not far from the city center (about a 15-minute walk). Easy to reach and convenient parking if you’re travelling by car. Overall, a very good experience, recommended!
The hotel is nice and well equipped, but it looks a bit “old style”. Some renovation would probably give it a more modern look.

It's more a suggestion rather than something that we didn't like. There could be a mini fridge in the room so that when you come back from a long day walking around you can have a refreshing drink (either provided by the hotel or something bought outside
