L’hôtel est super bien situé pour le départ de pleins de randonnées. Le petit déjeuner est très bon avec du choix. Le parking est gratuit

Er hing een beetje een muffe geur in de gangen. Badkamer is verouderend. Naast het hotel zijn ze aan het graven dus dat hoor je om 7 uur sochtends wel.

Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Es gab Brötchen, hausgemachtes Brot, Croissants. Marmelade, Butter, Käse, Wurst. Gemüse, Obst, Eier, Müsli, Wasser, Säfte, Kaffee, Tee. Und der Schweizer käse war besonders lecker ! Die Lage war super, ich empfehle direkt von der Unterkunft zum Oeschinensee zu laufen. Man konnte gratis Adapter für die Steckdose ausleihen.

Personalet var generelt sure at se på - ingen smil, ingen god-morgen hilsen.

Reviewed Sep 14, 2026Die Lage ist optimal für Kandersteg. Es braucht kein Auto. Wir hatten das Superior Zimmer und würden auch keins darunter wählen. Frühstück ist angepasst auf ein zwei Sterne Haus und passt wirklich gut. Super nette Besitzer und topp Personal. Mega sauber und es fehlt an nichts 🥳
Das Hotel ist absolut zu empfehlen und wir würden es jederzeit wieder buchen. Was mich persönlich gefreut hätte wäre, dass die Terrasse ein wenig hübsch gemacht wird (da langt ein Tag locker) und der Frühstücksraum an das Jahr 2026 modern angepasst wird. Es ist halt altbacken.

Reviewed Sep 12, 2026Dieses Hotel hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Das Frühstück liess ebenfalls keine Wünsche offen und die Qualität der Produkte war ausgezeichnet. Alles tipptopp! Besonders beeindruckt hat mich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Für ein Hotel dieser Sternekategorie hätte ich ein so hohes Niveau nicht erwartet. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder!

Reviewed Sep 10, 2026Een wat gedateerde accommodatie, maar wat ons betreft heeft dat juist zijn charme. De ligging is echt top en een perfecte uitvalsbasis om te wandelen. In de omgeving zijn volop restaurants op loopafstand. Het ontbijt was lekker en goed verzorgd en de kamer was erg schoon. We hebben hier fijne dagen gehad.

The mattress were well lived, still comfortable enough to sleep well but u can feel the dips/holes from people’s weight. One closet doorknob was falling out. Would be amazing to have bigger fridge for guests to store their food not just tiny one. And at least one electric small cooking stove would be cute too.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026First of all Kandersteg is charming and this was a pretty decent place to stay over night. The room somehow felt a bit 70’s. Maybe it was the funky yellow/orange bed sheets.
Somewhat similar, silghlty underwhelming, experience compared to all the other chalets we stayed in. No fridge in the room, nor an air con, and toilet was a bit small. I asked in advance, if we could store our luggage there while visiting the Oeschinensee, and they said yes. Turns out you can just dump your stuff in the common area. Felt a bit uncomfortable leaving my laptop and other gear there unattended for the day, but also didn’t want to bring them on the hike.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026L’hôtel est très bien placé mais calme à la fois. Le personnel est très gentil. J’y ai passé une nuit et la chambre était petite mais très confortable, la salle de bain un peu petite mais pour une nuit ça allait très bien. Le petit-déjeuner est très correct.

This isn't a criticism because we were in Switzerland but there was no English choice on the TV. We weren't there to watch television so this wasn't an issue but you asked what could be better.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Accueil chaleureux et parking à disposition. L’hôtel est simple, calme et confortable, situé à environ 15 minutes à pied des télécabines qui mènent à l’Oeschinensee. En cinq minutes, on rejoint également la ligne du Lötschberg, ce qui rend l’emplacement très pratique. La chambre était très propre, avec une décoration au look un peu années 80, mais une literie particulièrement confortable. Le petit-déjeuner est copieux et servi sur une agréable terrasse. Une bonne adresse pour séjourner à Kandersteg.

Pillows were not my favorable. The hotel is outdated, but it has some charactheristic from monks, etc.
