Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Location was perfect - right across from train station. Breakfast surpassed my expectations - additionally, great mountain views from the terrace. Staff were approachable and kind.
I am a very light sleeper and given that the hotel does not have AC, the available fan was a bit noisy. That being said, I would visit again, but perhaps during the colder months.

Reviewed Sep 16, 2026Närheten till sevärdheter och kommunikationer i Brig är en stor fördel. Men det bästa är det orörda hotellrummet där man behållit 50-60-tals inredningen i trä. Så vacker och 100 procent retro. Så lycklig över att slippa tunga textilier, modern "design" utan istället få klassiskt vacker stil där funktionalitet och smak vinner. Ur miljötänk lycklig över att hotellet vågat/kunnat stå emot renoveringar. Hoppas bara man fortsätter så! Dessutom fantastiskt prisvärt både generellt och i förhållande till prisnivån i Schweitz.
Det något klumpiga sättet som man tas emot på i receptionen där man förväntas ringa på en telefon för att få uppmärksamhet. Samtidigt kom dock någon snabbt en tillmötes.

The pillows were great big fluffy feather pillows and I like a firm pillow - I just used towels underneath the pillow . Husband thought it was brilliant!

Reviewed Sep 9, 2026Het hotel ligt tegenover het station en is dus ideaal om te overnachten als je de volgende dag vroeg op pad moet met de trein. Ontbijten is mogelijk vanaf 07:00 dus dat was een belangrijke reden om hier een kamer te boeken. Het ontbijt is goed verzorgd, uitchecken gaat heel soepel. Fijn dat er een waterkoker op de kamer is om zelf nog een kopje thee te kunnen maken.
Het hele hotel is wat gedateerd maar voor een verblijf van een nacht is dat niet storend.

Reviewed Sep 9, 2026Das Hotel war direkt am Bahnhof, was sehr praktisch war. Das Personal beim Frühstück und an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich. Wir hatten ein Eckzimmer, dass sehr gross und sauber war. Leider hatte ich einen Gegenstand im Hotel vergessen. Das Personal hat mir diesen aber sehr rasch und unkompliziert per Post nachgesendet.

Die Lage am Bahnhof ist einerseits ideal anderseits halt auch lärmig.

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026Top Lage direkt am Bahnhof. Das geräumige Zimmer nach hinten raus war trotzdem sehr ruhig. Freundliches und entgegenkommendes Personal. Schöner Balkon fürs Frühstück, man darf auch lange sitzen bleiben.
Es gibt noch keine digitalen Zugangskarten, sondern man bekommt einen relativ schweren Schlüsselbund. Das ist etwas lästig, wenn man erst spät zurückkehrt und den Schlüssel somit mitnehmen muss.

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026De locatie was uitermate geschikt als je met de trein reist. Wij zijn per trein aangekomen en hoefde op het perron maar over te steken..wij hadden een reis gepland vanuit brig naar chur en daarom was hotel victoria voor ons het perfecte verblijf.
De douche was niet erg handig en verouderd .douche gordijn mag best vervangen worden .

Het is een verouderd hotel. De meeste dingen zijn nog uit de jaren 70 en niet opgeknapt. Ik heb erg slecht geslapen op het hard matras en waardeloze kussen. De verlichtijng zijn 3 grote lampen die de hele kamer als een soort kantoor met TL licht verlichten. De prijs was veel te hoog voor dit hotel.

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026Sehr gute Lage, ein vielfältiges Frühstücksbuffet, die Einnahme des Frühstücks war auch auf einer Terrasse möglich. Das Personal rundherum freundlich. Das Zimmer war gegen den Innenhof und war mit einer Store und einem Vorhang versehen. Im Zimmer befand sich zudem eine Wasserkocher inkl. Kaffee und Tee. Auch ein Ventilator war vorhanden (keine Klimaanlage).
Eine Auffrischung der Möbel sowie des Badezimmers wäre vielleicht mal nötig. Die Möbel hatten rechte Abnützungsspuren. Aber es war sauber und das Hotel kostet ja auch nicht alle Welt.

We had 12 minutes on our return to gather our luggage and make it back to the station in 11 minutes with one minute to spare to catch our next train.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026Location was fantastic for travelling by train. Brig itself way exceeded my expectations. The welcome from I think the owner was very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast, standard continental food but buffet kept stocked.
The towels were freyed and well past their best, I wouldn’t offer them to guests staying at our home, let alone a paying customer. The shower curtain was well overdue replacing or at the very least cleaning. The lights above the bed are very badly situated that you cannot sit in the bed. I am not sure if the restaurant downstairs is the same business but was not welcoming at all to visitors.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026Alles bestens, hatten schönes (hohes) Zimmer im Haupthaus, mit Balkon. Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen, Möbel u Bad auch, aber dieses Hotel sollte wg historischem Hintergrund (belle epoque) unbedingt erhalten bleiben. Preis/ Leistung top. Frühstück lecker.

Reviewed Jul 21, 2026Location is excellent, across the street from the Brig train station. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The building is quite old, but has been well maintained. We were able to park our bicycles overnight in the hotel garage. The breakfast room was beautiful, with an outside terrace. Pictures on the lobby wall showed the flooding of Brig in 1993, specifically in the area around this hotel and the train station.
Although well maintained, the building does show its age in such things as room keys (big and clunky, the same as I got in my first hotel here 40 years ago), a very small, very slow elevator, room locations and numbering and such.
