The employees were incredibly nice and welcoming. This hotel was absolutely charming and unique. It had the character of a traditional Austrian Gasthof without seeming old and dusty.

Loved having close, free parking - we left the car in their lot for our overnight stay. The room was large and comfortable - loved the bathroom. The hotel itself was beautiful. The front desk answered all questions and were very polite and welcoming - no complaints!

Any closer to the old town in Salzburg would have been out of our price range, so we were happy to walk a bit, but just be aware that it's about a 20 minute walk into town. We walked into town twice during our overnight stay and highly recommend using the bus/tram to shave some minutes off of that walk, since you'll be walking quite a bit once you get into the main section of Salzburg that you're probably visiting for.

The staff were wonderful. For a historical hotel the facility is in excellent shape. Room was very cute and loved the historic touches. Everything was in great shape and very, very clean. Breakfast was perfect for me. Nice selections.

Good location, close to the Main Railway Station, but still some 100 m away. Positively old-styled building and equipment with good vibe. We had a tent-bed in our room!:) Rich and delicious breakfast. Free parking was possible on the street as there was weekend. You get a free Salzburg Region (!) Public Transport Card with the accommodation which is very handy, as you are 3-5 stops from the city center.

There was nothing to complaint about.

There were no amenities like a hot water kettle etc. The front desk staff was helpful. Location was good. But the hotel was overpriced. We stayed in better hotels in Veinna, Prague and Paris at lower cost.

Super nette Eigentümer. Ich habe noch nie so gut erklärt bekommen was ich mir in einer Stadt alles ansehen sollte. Vielen Dank für die tollen Tipps. Das Frühstück war super lecker und sehr abwechslungsreich. Auch für unsere Sonderwünsche gab es ein offenes Ohr. Ich würde jederzeit wieder buchen.

Das Zimmer entsprach nicht den Fotos im Internet. Ein lieblos gestalteter Raum mit einem fleckigen Spannteppich der kein Wohlgefühl aufkommen ließ. Das Frühstücksgebäck war altbacken .

Good location, clean, friendly staff

The breakfast and staff were wonderful. The grounds were nice, and happy hour was fun and unexpected.

The only negative was the tub. The deep tub made it difficult to get in and out of when showering. It was not safe for our 81 year old mom.

The staff at the Hotel were amazing. Super friendly, provided a map and suggested walk for our first afternoon of our trip. We loved Salzburg and with the introduction from the hotel, how could we not.

L'emplacement est très bien, on peut aller dans le centre à pieds. Les gérants sont vraiment très gentils et nous ont fait un plan pour visité la ville à pieds.

The hotel has a lot of charm. It's all furnished in an old, classic way. The breakfast, although it's mostly cold, was very nice and of good quality. Everyone working in the hotel was very friendly and helpful. There are some nice common areas to sit in the hotel. They provided us with a card to travel for free. Nice quiet hotel.

I checked that the hotel didn't meet expectations, and the main reason was that there was no aircon. The other was that the location, even though it's near the train, is very far from the historic areas of interest. Our room was very hot, and it was not comfortable to sleep even with a fan. It's a roughly 30-minute walk to the historic center of the city from the hotel. I don't mind walking, but when it's 30-35 degrees outside, it kinda sucks being so far away from everything. The hotel has a bit of a stuffy feeling. Perhaps it's just that a lot of the other guests while my daughter and I were staying there were old Europeans. But, it felt a bit stuffy. I was shushed and asked to leave a common room by a grumpy old lady because she was reading and video chat was annoying her. This was after I asked her if she minded.

Nuestra experiencia en el Hotel Hohenstauffen de Salzburgo ha sido realmente especial. Es un hotel histórico del siglo XIX, regentado por la familia Reichl, que ha sabido conservar su personalidad y muchos objetos históricos auténticos. No es el típico hotel moderno y estandarizado, y precisamente ahí está gran parte de su encanto. Lo que más queremos destacar es la hospitalidad de Linda, Filippo y Andie: siempre corteses, atentos y dispuestos a ayudar en todo lo que necesitas. El desayuno es estupendo y se nota que cuidan mucho los pequeños detalles y las necesidades de sus huéspedes. Incluso hacen la habitación diariamente sin que tengas que solicitarlo expresamente, algo que hoy en día no siempre sucede. Las habitaciones quizá no sean de diseño moderno o recién renovadas, pero son enormes y muy espaciosas. De hecho, algunas tienen unas dimensiones que en un hotel actual equivaldrían prácticamente a dos o incluso tres habitaciones. Es una sensación de amplitud que cada vez resulta más difícil encontrar. Y hay un detalle que nos encantó: todas las tardes ofrecen Happy Hour en su precioso salón barroco, lleno de objetos y curiosidades. Incluso tienen una jukebox en la que puedes elegir las canciones que quieras sin pagar. Es un rincón con una atmósfera muy especial que invita a quedarse y disfrutar. En definitiva, si buscas un hotel con historia, personalidad, tranquilidad y un trato cercano y familiar, el Hohenstauffen es una magnífica elección en Salzburgo. Más que alojarte en un hotel, tienes la sensación de formar parte, aunque sea por unos días, de una pequeña historia familiar. Repetiríamos sin duda.

Excelente hotel familiar ideal para visitar Salzbourg: muy buena ubicación, trato muy amable y cercano por parte de los propietarios. La habitación amplia, muy limpia y confortable. El desayuno, completísimo y muy cuidado en unas instalaciones que invitan a repetir. Sin duda, absolutamente recomendable!

A really quirky, offbeat guesthouse with charmingly eclectic decor (and an actual jukebox in the lounge!). The antithesis to the sterility of a bog-standard business hotel. Location just west of the station unpromising at first glance with a former communist party HQ (now a jazz bar) and an erotic centre over the road, but the 'hood in fact felt safe, quiet, diverse - and very un-Salzburgy. Quite the find, would happily stay again.

It was a shade expensive for what it is, but given the occupancy in the city was 98% on the two nights we stayed and the prices elsewhere were outrageous, bordering on robbery, we were more than happy. The weather was boiling hot and there's no A/C, but the hotel provided a fan so it was tolerable.

Ein familär-geführtes Hotel, sämtliche MitarbeiterInnen sind ernsthaft bemüht und besorgt um das Wohl ihrer Gäste. Wo anfangen?: Freundlichkeit wird extrem großgeschrieben, die Zimmer sind blitzsauber, das Frühstücksbuffet großartig, der riesige Salon lädt zum verweilen an falls man nicht auf seinem Zimmer bleiben will, die Lage ideal (ruhig, dennoch wenige Minuten fußläufig vom Bahnhof, andererseits wenige Minuten mit dem Bus in die Altstadt, oder - noch besser - gemütliche 20 Minuten entlang der Salzach schlendern mit tollen Blicken auf die Festung). Eine tolle Empfehlung!

It was only a 4 min walk from the main train station. Walk to the old town. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The beds were comfortable. Night porter so could leave your key at reception. The shower was hot and had excellent water pressure.

The decor was dated.

A localização era muito boa, era exactamente a pretendida( perto do jardins Mirabell e muito perto do centro Histórico). Também era perto da estação central o que foi ótimo porque não se andou muito até ao hotel. Se voltar ficarei exactamente na mesma zona.

O quarto era grande e tinha tudo o que era necessário para uma curta estadia. Como queria um alojamento típico austríaco, que fugisse ao hotel standard, o Hotel Hohenstauffen correspondeu às minhas espectativas.

It's close to the Salzburg train station. It's a quaint little accommodation with a charming setting seemingly from the past.

The room is incredibly hot! We were there in the summer and the room is like an oven. There's only 1 small fan, no AC, and even with windows open at night, it's suffocating. Couldn't sleep at night at all. Room rate is very pricey with the amenity and lack of features.

Convenient location: 5 minutes walk from main railway station and 10-15 minutes walk to town centre. Overall very clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Continental breakfast provided from an comprehensive buffet in a comfortable dining room with a homely ambient. Very good value.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, locker und herzlich! Die Einrichtung wirkt schon teilweise wie 70ziger/ 80ziger. Aber alles ist top sauber. Und dieser Stil macht es irgendwie auch sp besonders. Fand es klasse!

Es war halt sehr sehr heiss und das Zimmer hat keine Klimaanlage. Nur einen Ventilator. Das Frühstückszimmer ist eher klein. Ich möchte am morgen gerne meine Ruhe und möchte nicht mit fremden Personen am gleichen Tisch sitzen Preis eher teuer...ich habe in Wien weniger bezahlt für ein Zimmer mit Klimaanlage. Vielleicht ist Salzburg aber generell teurer...das weiss ich nicht

Staff disponibile e molto cordiale, ambienti puliti e confortevoli, stanza molto più ampia di quanto mi aspettassi e in perfetto ordine. Posizione perfetta per visitare il centro di Salisburgo arrivando in treno.

Das charmante alte Hotel befindet sich an sehr zentraler Lage beim Hauptbahnhof. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gut ausgerüstet, die Betten bequem. Super Frühstücksbuffet, nicht verpassen! Trotz der sehr hohen Temperaturen war es im Zimmer nicht allzu warm.

Ich war mit dem Hotel voll und ganz zufrieden. Die Lage ist top und ruhig, das Zimmer groß und gut ausgestattet, die Rezeption ist 24 Stunden besetzt, die Leute sind extrem freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend (mir wurde wegen der Hitze ein kühleres Zimmer angeboten als ursprünglich geplant; ich konnte auch früher frühstücken als üblich, da ich sehr früh abreisen musste), das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und preiswert und überhaupt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr gut. Ich habe mich sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Ich empfehle das Hotel vorbehaltlos.

Cosy room, staff very kind

Staff were great! Thank you Andreas Reichl for directing us to everything from transportation to various places and where we able to walk quite easily to, and places where we could eat. Breakfast was very good. Room had a fan which really helped with the heat. Room and bathroom were clean and nice and large. Parking was easy. We were also able to leave our luggage locked up when we went exploring on the last day. A good stay!
