The staff at the reception was friendly and welcoming and it was only a 10min taxi ride to where we were going. I'm sorry but those are the only positives I have.

It smelled very old and musty. It was an old Victorian building which looked and felt like a hostel rather than a hotel. We're given the room at the top floor. It just felt old and dreary. There were cracks on the walls and the doors on one of the drawers were hanging off. It was nothing like the pictures on booking.com. We tried booking elsewhere but alot of the hotels nearby were booked up. Breakfast was included in the price but we didn't bother. Couldn't wait to leave as soon as it was daylight.

We didn't need to go out in the evening to eat, but I think had we needed to, we would have struggled to find somewhere easily. We weren't tempted by the locality to try

Ely House exceeded my expectations and I was very impressed with the furnishings and decoration. I had 2 very good nights sleep and breakfasts were as good as I have had at larger hotels. I have already booked to come back.

Very comfortable mattresses on the beds, the beautiful building and the staff who were very professional, frisky and helpful going above and beyond to help us. Great location for the sports centre where our competition was taking place and lots of parking available. The manager even gifted us a couple of bottles of water to go to our competition. We will definitely book again.

The windows are not able to be opened which we understand, maybe a fan could be provided in each room as we were a bit warm at some points as it was the end of summer and although not boiling hot outside, still warm. It would have been nice to be offered a second glass of juice at breakfast and maybe check if everything is ok after serving, as I didn’t have any butter and was unable to ask as staff returned to the kitchen.

The bedroom is comfortable and clean. It is easily accessible with shops nearby. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Once you are a regular it is being part of a family. They go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable.

Stayed here one night to see a show at the civic hall. The hotel manager was very friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. The room was clean and the beds were really comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything. Exceptionally clean. Everything we needed was provided for. Off street parking. Excellent breakfast and the manager was the best...couldn't do enough for us. Gutted to leave had the best night's sleep in a long time. Hopefully will be around the area again and will definitely stay again. Thank you for the best stay.

I loved my stay here! This was my second week staying here and was an amazing experience again. Staff are so friendly and helpful. I love the room and the area is quiet and close to the centre of Wolverhampton

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! I stayed here whilst on university placement and then booked again for the following week. The room I stayed in was very spacious and quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Very friendly staff, good breakfast, room was clean and had everything I needed. Overall a pleasant place to stay, close to the centre with a bus stop directly outside to help you get around.

Perfect location for gig at the Clivic Hall, about 18min walk. Beds were comfy. Tea and coffee provided in room! Nice modern bathroom. Host very friendly :) free parking was a massive bonus!

The hotel is in an excellent position, near to the city centre with a very frequent bus service passing the door. We were made to feel very welcome and our room was comfortable and cosy. We had everything we needed.

The hotel has own car park, and quite spacious as well. The staff were really helpful and friendly to ensure I enjoyed my stay. Also though I paid for single room, it was really decent size room where it was quite spacious as well ensuite as well. The room was cleanliness was a high standard I will be stay there again

Well appointed and cared for property. The staff took obvious pride in their work and without fuss made every effort to make my stay pleasant. On site parking is a huge plus. My room was cosy, warm and I could open a window to get fresh air.

The hotel was clean. Staff were helpful, pleasant, and friendly. The hotel was convenient for the city centre, within easy walking distance. Beds were comfortable, and the rooms and whole hotel were clean and nicely decorated.

Car parking was really tight, but that was not the hotels fault really because of its location so close to the city centre. At least they offer a parking space for guests. It is just a fact that cars are getting wider these days.

Ely House is always my stay when in Wolverhampton. But have not been for about a year. The reception from Sara was as always welcoming, friendly with a smile and efficient to make your stay an excellent on. Everything was spotless so huge credit to the housekeeper. The Breakfast really sets you up for the day.

Exceptional staff Quaint hotel with gorgeous bar and breakfast room. Surprised a proper restaurant hasn't been made of the space. Spotlessly clean.

Needs a lick of paint/new carpets. Narrow and steep stairs to room was a struggle with luggage. Bed could have been bigger, it was a bit cramped.
