Very comfortable, clean, spacious and friendly.
What an amazing place
A little too large as it was a hell of a walk from reception to our room
Everything but the dinner.
The dinner was awful and it is not the first time we go there. They really need to get a more experienced and committed chef - they are trying to save money too much on food and it shows in the general quality of the dinner food. This is a huge let down each time we go there.
The staff were exceptional. We had dinner in the steak restaurant and Ben was brilliant and really looked after us. Great location, the suite exceeded our expectations. Thank you
The AI wasn’t working, we had ordered room service through it but it had the wrong menu and the Kitchen didn’t have what we ordered. However, reception dealt with our request and it was all resolved.
The room was very comfortable The breakfast suited everyone's needs & desires, the hot food was hot, the food was fresh The dinner exceeded expectations. The staff were without exception kind, helpful & pleasant
The dinner menu was quite limited if you wanted to eat there more than one night The restaurant became noisy as the evening went on but this appeared to be because people were enjoying themselves so not sure it could be considered a complaint
Great place highly recommended
There is a large parking and it is very easy to access anywhere.
1- i tried to call the room service 2 times. Stayed on the line for about 15 mn. No pick up. I called the hotel via the landline hoping i would catch someone. Same. No one. I gave up food and dealt with it by myself. Not acceptable. 2- the hall and restaurant are incredibly noisy. The large structure with a kind of marble increases the sound level. 2 kids in the hallway and you feel like in kindergarten garden. Same foe the restaurant.
Comfortable, large room. We liked having both a bath and separate shower, and a balcony. Breakfast was very good for a buffet. Staff were all very helpful and we were helped with our luggage both on arrival and departure. We made good use of the spa facilities, with a number of spa treatments. The pool was an exceptional size for a hotel. We were given towels, robes and slippers for our use throughout our stay. All the spa staff were so helpful, especially Hannah, Amy and Ellie. We used the jacuzzi which was lovely and warm, and the sauna. Showers were efficient. It was good having spin dryers for wet swimsuits, but plastic bags were missing although there was a place for them. There was plenty of parking space. Our room was on the same floor as all the facilities, which was a good thing as the lift was out of order for the first couple of days! We will definitely be coming back to this hotel.
Although our room had blackout curtains, the big green light near the door illuminated the whole room at night, which caused disturbed sleep.Toilet paper needs upgrading. Nowhere in the bathroom to hand damp towels other than a washing line above the bath that I couldn't reach. Maybe a couple of hooks on the back of the door would be a solution.
Convenient location for business
Bit disappointed the grill was closed. Room service was also not being served as the lift was broken, would have been nice to have been informed prior to check in
The hotel staff were excellent, we went there for a birthday celebration and cakes were waiting on the bed to celebrate this when we arrived. The rooms were large and spacious. The spa is the highlight for the hotel and the facilities they offer within the price of your stay is amazing
Breakfast finishes at 9.30 on weekdays which we were fine with, we went down at 8.45 and unfortunately if they were empty food stations they weren’t replenished in the last hour so their was no fired eggs, pastries or yogurts available
Location was good
No indoor pool false advertising! No dressing gowns
Breakfast was fantastic. Room was also very clean and tidy.
Can’t find one!
The comfortable beds and lovely view from both rooms. The gym and pool facilities were excellent and the swimming was for adults only during our stay. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere with a very good service for breakfast. The bar staff made me an excellent cocktail!
The pool water was particularly cold. The cost of desserts in the restaurant, over £12 for some!
The room was lovely and very spacious, the view from my room was one of the golf course which was lovely.
The shower cubicle could do with some maintenance on the grouting.
Geräumiges Zimmer, grosszüges Bad, ideal für Rollstuhlfahrer, Frühstücksbuffet sehr umfangreich,
Spacious rooms, very quiet, good breakfast
Nothing
The ambiance
When i arrived i was clearly in a wheelchair and told the male receptionist that I was attending the wedding. When i arrived back at reception to ask where the wedding ceremony was i was offered a buggy. It is painful and time consuming gor me to transfer from chair to buggy etc so eventually i was brought down through staff entrance and got to the ceremony 5mins lste. Missed the bride and mother walking down the aisle. Bear in mind i travelled from ireland and was in uk 2 days prior to the ceremony. I was angry that i was still late for the beginning of the ceremony I asked for beds to be separated when I arrivedat 12.30pm. I left the room at 1.15pm to go to wedding so it was free all day long and I had ro ask again at 11pm as I was going to bed. The 2 guys arrived to separate beds and re dress it. They didn't knock and came straight in and I was un-dressed from waist down.sitting in wheelchair. After they walked in unannounced I asked my husband foe a towel to cover my lower body.. embarrassing to say the least.
enjoyed the free upgrade to our room
nothing
Lovely big room, dinner was really good and the spa access is included
Bar is very very expensive. Decoration is basic but clean and comfy
I especially love the gym
The elevators were not working during my stay so I could not order room service
Perfect for the wedding venue, well organised and everything about the hotel.
Nothing, totally satisfied
Our room. The spaciousness of the hotel, there's plenty of free parking. The restaurant is spacious and the hotel has a luxurious feel. The lady that checked us in was lovely, and the gentleman that took my suitcase to our room as the lift was out of order was very helpful. Milk delivered the next morning and the beautiful views from our room. The shower was hot, the room was clean, we had Aircon too. There was plenty of choice at breakfast too.
The lift was out of order... Directions in the corridor to the pool would have been useful. Also, we sat down for breakfast and a waitress came to clear the large table next to us, but stood behind my chair noisily scraping food off of plates from the next table. This was highly unpleasant and unprofessional whilst we were eating.
Very nice selection
Lacking in staff , and felt sorry for staff that were on duty bar/ reciption one guy doing both
Nice venue, clean and great courses and facilities
Looking very tired and in need of some decorations and modernisation
Luxury and comfort
Poorly trained staff
Excellent, well-maintained property with brilliant amenities!
Breakfast and overall facility
Our rooms balcony didn’t open and it was neither fixed nor room changed
Location, lots of parking, lovely big room
It’s the third year we have stayed here and it is starting to look a little tired in places
Excellent facilities
Carpets worn/stringy areas a trip hazard especially in dining area.. needs replacing.
The hotel is clean, spacious and comfortable. Good breakfast buffet and a well priced dinner at the Hunnington grill.plenty of parking. Efficient reception desk. Very spacious bedroom. Comfortable bed. Well appointed and well lit bathroom. Good shower with good water pressure.
I know it was a weekend but starting breakfast at 8 is too late for a golf hotel. Lots of guests waiting well before 8. The staff in the Hunnington grill were pleasant but untrained. Poor communication skills of some of the bar staff. Bizarre that tips had to be in cash at the grill. The ac in the bedroom was arctic despite turning it down. We eventually just turned it off. And annoying that the windows are locked in the bedroom. I know I can ask for them to be unlocked but why.
Comfortable beds, a great location, and a delicious breakfast.
We were given a different room than the one we had booked—we ordered a luxurious suite, but received a family room instead. Even after reaching out to management, they refused to move us. To make matters worse, they demanded additional money beyond the amount agreed upon prior to our arrival.
The room was spacious and very comfortable. The spa and large swimming pool on our floor were a big bonus.
The food at dinner and breakfast was indifferent. For breakfast, better bread and more fresh fruit would be welcome, as would at least one more coffee machine—the current two are insufficient for the large number of guests. My biggest negative is the horrible level of the noise in the dining and bar areas, particularly in the evening when these are crowded. The walls, floor and ceiling seem to amplify the sound of talking, etc. to an unbearable cacophony. Couldn't some sound-damping materials be installed?
The room was very spacious, overall feel of the hotel was nice and since we were playing golf - very close by! Personnel at the golf club was extremely helpful and friendly! Close to Brighton, but felt fully within the countryside-vibe
Hassle with the swimming of the kids - did not find the staff at the health club very fond of hotel clientele either. Facilities at the (external) gym were fine though.
Sense of space. Nice rooms, friendly staff. Excellent swimming pool.
Nothing in particular.
Excellent breakfast
We wanted more fresh air. The windows opened only a very lttle and we did not want air con.
The bed was just 2 single beds pushed together and the duvet was 2 singles zipped together. Me and my partner were going for a romantic night away and this was awful. There was a huge gap between us and a zip in our faces. I also called down for champagne glasses twice and we never received them. Our food that we ordered took over an hour to arrive and when we did get it it was cold and the burger was grissly and under cooked. Our balcony was covered in bird very old bird poo. The glasses in the room weren’t clean. The shampoo was almost empty so only one of us could use it. There was clearly a leak in the room above as the whole ceiling was damp.
This is a great location for visiting Eastbourne or the opera house at Glyndebourne. The hotel has a golf course (or two) and extensive grounds. Several of the rooms have far-reaching views across Sussex. The communal areas were clean and contemporary style. There's a swimming pool and gym and plenty of car parking space. The bar had ale and a good range of other beverages. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice and it was good to see that items were replenished in good time. The quality of produce used was exceptional with lovely fresh water melon and pineapple, tasty bacon and sausages, and great eggs. Plenty for those who just wanted continental style too. The views from our room were great and there was a little balcony to sit and enjoy al fresco. The staff were very professional and pleasant and gave us comprehensive information about the hotel. Complimentary water bottles in the room were welcome.
We booked an accessible (disabled) room (235) and, although it was on the entry level, it was a very long walk from reception and the restaurant. My wife does not use a wheelchair but has pronounced mobility problems so we asked for something nearer. The reception staff was very kind and allocated another room (215) but it was only a little nearer to reception. If you're not a wheelchair user, be aware of this issue. Some bits of the hotel are now looking tired. For example, our balcony door was warped and wouldn't close properly at the top, the coating on the balcony railings was flaking, parts of the restaurant looked shabby and the bathroom wasn't well cleaned. For a disabled bathroom, the dispensers for toiletries were set too high on the wall. I was delighted to see ale on tap in the bar but I had to give up trying to get a pint because there was a large number of people in the bar (some party or group of delegates) with only one member of staff serving. After waiting 10 minutes!!! I decided it would have to be a cuppa in the room instead.
refurbished, quiet rooms next to fabulous golf court, even Glyndebourne Opera festival in 15 minutes drive reach.
Our bathroom was "original" and not refurbished. Also the balcony shows that some make over at and in the builiding is still in need
We've been before. We'll go again. It's fantastic.
The large room and one or two friendly staff
The frayed carpets in dining area. That only one coffee machine was working at breakfast when lots of people were there. That breakfast finishes at 0930 (some of us are on holiday). That tablecloths are only available for large tables. That early check-in costs. That the Marmelade jams etc are in plastic pots (not environmentally friendly). That the safe in a disabled room was placed above the hanging area. That there was nowhere to hang a long dress (when many guests are headed to Glyndebourne), that the golf proshop is taking up a space which would be a great view area (bar/dining), and only dedicated shoppers would bother to walk the glass corridor (very hot) so a commercial fail. Generally the place does not feel friendly, more like an upmarket motorway rest zone. Weeds were growing in the paved areas just by the front door.
Why so keen for me to do the app when it wasn't needed. So much better than Tenterden Hotel but still alot if money
See above
Nice place for a golf trip.
Expensive drinks.
The location was beautiful. Everything was very well put together. I couldn't play a round of golf because there was a tournament. I will definitely be back
Clean ,friendly staff
Nothing
The room was well appointed and it was nice to have a balcony as well as indoor seating.
The service in the dining room was inattentive and it felt like the staff were not well trained. The pool area was very busy and the facilities were limited.
Very efficient and helpful staff, good food from room service (although child's meals should have had no added salt), spacious family rooms, comfortable, good breakfast, really nice spa swimming pool, clean, quiet and comfortablre nights sleep despite entertainment happening at the hotel (we didnt hear it at all)
The black out blinds in the family room were completely broken and falling away at the sides so didnt cut out any light. We asked to move rooms which after a little reluctance the staff accomodated, but the second family room was pretty much the same. The blinds should be replaced, primarily as any hotel room is expected to have curtains / blinds which keep out the light, and secondly this is especially important in a family room as these are intended to accomodate children and parents dont want them woken at 5am in the summer due to sunlight coming in!
Breakfast was good selection and had gf option
Nothing our stay was good
Room was comfortable and not too small. Reception bar/ lounge area very spacious light and airy. Staff at breakfast extremely helpful.
Certain aspects need upgrading. Carpet in dining room had a hole in it and joins were coming apart. Bathroom shower needed a deep clean as the grouting between tiles was not very clean. Also rust marks on glass door and bottom of fixing. Bar staff in evening could have been more friendly. Because the area is large and is tiled with not much soft furnishing, it’s extremely noisy. Staff threw empty bottles into waste bins making a lot of crashing. Windows all needed a good clean. Paths from car park area breaking up that could cause people to trip and hurt themselves.
Spacious rooms; good location for Glyndebourne; staff well-trained, pleasant and efficient; excellent breakfast
We have stayed here every year for the last 10 years booking the same type of room and this is the first time we have been given an attic room on level 3 with velux windows. That means we could only see the sky and no view of the countryside which is usual. The blinds need replacing as trashed by previous guests. For a 3-night stay this room was not appreciated. The standard in the restaurant for dinner has fallen compared with previous years. The pork loin for the mains was stringy and sinewy, not like loin at all. The vegetables were undercooked so that you could not bite into them (beans and broccoli). My husband left his. However the smoked trout starter was good. The window frames in the bar area showed dead insects and cobwebs in the corners behind the net curtains. On the other hand our room was clean.
Great location bright airy clean
Rooms are allocated without telling me what facilities are available. I had only velux windows in my room so no view
Room was fairly large with large comfortable bed. Good selection for breakfast as always - our sixth stay at the Hotel.
The two chairs in the room could have been more comfortable!
Rooms/facilities/location
Tables in the bar are sticky from the the deterioration of the varnish by the cleaning chemicals-surface is nasty & sticky - could be rectified with rubbing down & not using varnish.
Location was close to where we wanted to be. Clean and air conditioned.
It's a big complex and our room was 2 and a half minutes walk from reception. Edge of mattress was very soft. Couldn't get a tv station to watch the picture kept disappearing. There was a loss of water to the site. Not the hotels fault but couldn't shower before going out. No offer of any recompense.
Everything at this hotel was wonderful! The warm welcome at the reception, the extravagant, spotless room with patio, the big pool, the spa, the changing areas, the gym! Truly a bliss. The aircon and pool are great during summer heatwaves and we were allowed to use the pool and wellness facilities during the day of checking out. Ample private parking. Definitely want to go back to this gem!
The whole place
It’s location, reception staff member (Anna) very nice
Room not cleaned properly, lack of facilities for such a big hotel, communal areas could have been tidier (tables not cleared or wiped, Pavilion restaurant felt and looked like a work’s canteen
Polite staff,very quiet rooms.
Nothing
The room was large and air conditioned
We both contracted Norovirus whilst at the hotel, ruining our visit to Glyndebourne. We were/are quite ill. Hygiene was clearly lacking in the breakfast service, open dishes of cooked food, numerous flies and sloppy presentation. At dinner we were served an unset room temp lemon curd tart which was not replaced when we complained. It is not clear that staff are working to a high enough hygiene standard or sufficiently informed about food dangers, particularly in warm weather. Cleaning throughout was minimal with dirty areas and frayed carpets, uncleared dishes in the bar area. The few staff were perhaps doing their.best but.not supported by effective management or any culture of pride or striving for excellence. They seemed unmotivated. There is serious underinvestment in this hotel.
Lovely peaceful hotel. Spacious and clean. Spa and golf excellent. Hunnington Grill superb.
The staff were excellent, in particular Cody who kindly sorted my breakfast (bacon sandwich to go) as I had to leave before service. Exceptional service for him to offer, and really appreciated. A good size room with balcony. Nicely decorated, and good air conditioning. Very content.
Didn’t have enough time to explore in full…but provisionally nothing I didn’t like.
Really lovely location and the staff were lovely. The hotel feels a bit like a conference venue but it’s well-maintained and well kept. The restaurant was also excellent, with a very good menu.
Breakfast could be a little better, it felt a little weaker than the otherwise really high quality standards.
The rooms were beautiful and you had air conditioning. The staff were kind, considerate and very helpful. the food was fabulous.
Although very clean, the bathroom was a little basic compared to the beautiful bedrooms.
Room, service from most staff, food quality, facilities
Room TVs cannot connect to your mobile phones for casting your Netflix, Disney, Apple TV or Amazon Prime accounts. They operate an AI agent on WhatsApp that didn’t communicate any messages back to the reception or concierge teams. Only discovered after waiting over an hour for room service that never arrived.
Air conditioning. Nice hotel
Staff were a little offhand. Some of the fitments (carpets etc) are looking a little tired.
All of it
Menu could be more varied
This was the second time visiting the hotel. Really enjoyed the stay. Great location, amazing facilities and good food. Really clean throughout. Thank you so much.
A lovely spacious room for 3 adults.
A friendlier tone when ringing up with enquiries.
Very Friendly and customer focussed staff and mangement- great vista from room which was of perfect size.
Nothing
Quiet; upgrade which we didn't ask for but very welcome; beautiful and big bedroom and bathroom; balcony very appreciated; comfy and big bed; scenery;
nothing; everything was perfect;
Breakfast excellent, walk on the golf course lovely
Specific room (204) a little worse for wear - needed some decoration touch up / paint
Was clean stuff going on etc
It was not very clear on arrival where to go
Nearly everything
We didn’t have connecting rooms and no balcony to meet on
This is a very good hotel - the staff are excellent, the room was an excellent size. The bar area is great.
Position of shampoo/conditioner/body wash in shower was poor - more difficult to use than it should have been. Toilet paper was very poor - needs to be better quality. I am being picky!
One staff member was quite rude as i was eating my food in the lobby. I have booked this hotel about 3 times and no one has ever told me off for eating my takeaway food in the lobby. She came and told me i cannot eat then took the plate away.
Lovely hotel with excellent facilities and helpful staff.
Rooms were lovely on the 2nd floor. Gym and spa facilities were superb.
The first night we ate at the main air conditioned resteraunt great …then Reception recommended we book the next night at HUNNINGTON resteraunt … what they didnt say was …. NO AIR CONDITIONING there literally ate a main course and went…and it was during a heatwave of 30 degrees!!
HUNNiNGTON restetaunt no A/C Other please head…feel dissapointed & misled by Anna on reception
Nice roomy rooms, clean, most of staff very friendly. The staff w in the Huntington restaurant were very friendly and accommodating.
We had to be at a meeting in Brighton at 8am on the weekend. Breakfast is not served until 8am, the hotel room service menu says they can serve breakfast from 7am (continental only) this is not the case. Why advertise a service that does not exist. A receptionist said it is a typing error. We could not get breakfast in our room, with lots of asking, we did manage to get a receptionist to talk to restaurant for us to come for breakfast early on the weekend. The restaurant staff were unhelpful, disinterested and made it apparent we were not welcome spoiling their set up.
The ambience, the location and the room standard
We felt that the bar staff were under pressure and there needed to be more on duty
The hotel was lovely and clean and the food and staff were great but we found the spa very lacking. The staff were really nice but the spa wasn’t very clean. We had an overnight stay so used the spa on arrival. There were no bags as there usually were to put your wet clothing into and the disabled shower room had a lot of hair on the floor. We were early in on the day of departure and nothing had been cleaned it seemed. Still hair in disabled shower room and rubbish in changing area all around the floor. There was still a plastic cup kicking around that had been there the afternoon before. Still no bags for your clothes either. Half the lockers wouldn’t lock I tried six before I found one that would and moving your possessions around until I found one was a real pain. I’ve used this spa many times and have never encountered this problem before. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of standard this time. Due to staff shortages perhaps but I did see a cleaner come in on first visit and look around but did nothing? If I were a member of the health club and paying the fees I would have complained but didn’t as only a one night stay guest. It was still unacceptable and unpleasant though. Standards have really slipped since my last visit earlier in the year unfortunately. I would still use the facilities the spa has to offer mainly the lovely pool as I’m a swimmer and fortunately poolside area looked pretty clean. I am reluctant to complain as I love the place but feel that management needs to be aware of what is required in this area.
Rooms, Pool/Spa/Gym, Bar Area
Bathrooms need updating
everything
nothing
Easy parking. Reception staff very professional but lovely
N/A
Spacious.
It’s very tired needing updates.
Lovely place, lots of space, enjoyed the balcony
Feather pillow option
Huge room, nice views.
Really poor standard of bathroom and dressing area in the suite.
The location is good.
The room which I paid a top rate for was on the third floor. These rooms have skylights and no windows that you can look out of . Very disspointing when normally there is a lovely view from the window. We were not able to sit in the bar due to large golf groups . The breakfast was choatic with everything running out all the time due to the large groups.
Absolutely beautiful hotel with amazing views. Facilities were exceptional. Spa was Lovely and all staff were helpful.
The bedroom & bathroom were large with balcony . Bed comfortable . Good air con which was effective on a really hot night. Dinner was excellent and beautifully presented.
The restaurant was extremely hot . ( The weather was extremely hot ) . The waiter was very helpful placing a big cooling fan near us but maybe with expected rising temperatures a more effective air con system should be installed. Other than that , very happy with our stay.
Setting, air conditioning, Spa
Elongated layout meant a long trek to get to bedroom and other locations. Breakfast shambolic with insufficient staff. Main dining room unavailable for an evening meal between 7-9. Shunted off to the Hunnington Grill where there was no buzz as only two other tables were occupied. Again understaffed. Food reasonable
the room was fantastic clean and spacious did t stay for breakfast due to commitment s
Big bedrooms quiet although could hear people talking through walls
Room Always miles away on GF corridor! Carpets very dated! Bathrooms dated!
A peaceful sanctuary to escape to for a relaxing weekend break. Great size room with a beautiful view from the balcony
It was all excellent
Good location and good value. Great sized rooms, though the bathroom was a little tired
Bathroom looked tired, loose toilet seat and a little mould around the sealant. Had a large group and we weren’t advised to book breakfast as a group which caused a few issues
Location Breakfast staff very friendly
Given a room that stank of smoke absolutely appalling. Went to reception to change no apologies or any customer service waited ages to see if any other room can be allocated cheekily to be told we would be assigned a twin but at some point at “night” staff will come and change it into double Refused so somehow managed to move us but again no apology for the long wait by that point and having to come back to reception with luggage ect Pool extremely cold
Location, spaces well designed rooms lively
Building work around
Very spacious nice big rooms
Lovely quiet location, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Great swimming pool.
A bit of a distance from the event we were attending but was easy to get a taxi
