Excellent stay, lovely room. Every member of staff we came across was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful.

We stayed in a twin room, the bed was firm and pillows a little lumpy but just not my personal preference

The location was beautiful, the various rooms for sitting we luxurious. The bedroom was large and extremely comfortable

We chose it for attending Glyndebourne but sadly it fell short of our expectations.

The room was right under the roof. It was cramped and hot. The bedding was suitable for winter but not summer. There was an inadequate fan that we propped up on the ironing board (see photo). We asked to be moved but were told nothing else was available.

Great breakfast choice. Lovely location. Large comfortable room. Huge dinner! Very friendly and helpful staff. Not cheep, but if you can afford it, it is well worth the money.

The ceiling lights in the bathroom flickered the whole time. That was the only problem.

Sehr stilvolles und gepflegtes Hotel. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet mit gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Wenig Steckdosen, dadurch war das Laden von Smartphone etc. etwas schwierig. Obwohl ein Fön vorhanden war, gab es im Bad keine Möglichkeit, ihn zu benutzen. In Anbetracht des Alters des Gebäudes allerdings nachvollziehbar.

We had a wonderful stay at Horsted Place. The Grade 2 listed building has been sensitively transformed from a country house to hotel preserving the elegance of a bygone era. Adam the General Manager was very welcoming and the rest of the staff were all very personable and really helpful which set a great tone making the stay a particularly pleasure.

Het is een erg charmant hotel. De bediening was (op één kleine uitzondering na) bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het ontbijt is uitstekend. Het gebouw is oud (wat ook de charme uitmaakt) zodat kleine ongemakken mogelijk zijn, maar waar zo snel als mogelijk aan verholpen wordt. Zeer goede uitvalsbasis voor Glyndebourne festival.

Eén van de kamers was niet klaar om 14u (normaal tijdtsip voor check-in). Onvoldoende laadpunten in de kamer, geen haardroger. Bij aankomst was ontvangst niet bijzonder vriendelijk (dit was uitzondering: voor de rest van verblijf erg vriendelijke staf). In het algemeen is men een beetje slordig: stofzuiger blijft staan in gang met gastenkamers, deur van personeelsruimte (met naaktkalender) blijft openstaan, linnen blijft liggen op de gang,...). Lift werkte niet op tweede dag. Bovenstaande is streng en betreft detailopmerkingen, want algemene indruk blijft erg positief.

The Hotel was amazing with a fascinating history, very well looked after by amazing, helpful and lovely staff. The food was wonderful and the gardens were a peaceful place to just wonder around or sit and enjoy the peace and quite with a evening drink. A place we will most definitely be returning to.

The price but actually it was nice to treat ourselves and really relax in an upmarket, luxurious place so I don’t begrudge it at all!

Beautiful hotel, former home and used by the Queen and Prince Philip. Interesting history and big rooms.

The TV is a nightmare. It’s so complicated even the staff couldn’t find the normal tv channels.

It would have been good to order dinner later as last orders were 7.45 and we couldn’t get back in time for hot food - however their cheese platter is excellent!

Wonderful setting, great food. Lovely room with great views.

Being a very old building there is no air con so south facing room was quite warm, but it was the middle of a heat wave. Also the lift was very slow and most people used the stairs.

We loved the room, but the sound insulation wasn't great. Fortunately our room neighbours were fairly quiet.

The service was wonderful from all the team members we met and thank you especially to Jasmine for making us feel so welcome. The vegan food at breakfast (thank you, Sam, for your suggestions), at high tea and at supper was all wonderful. The terrace was a great spot and the staff were attentive and friendly. The chaps on the team (whose names we didn't catch) were brilliant at quietly looking after very well as well. The bed was comfortable and the room a good size, with a view of a beautiful courtyard garden. The bathroom and its shower were good. The desk was a good size to do some urgent laptop work on. The atmosphere was quiet and the other guests politely friendly and seemed as relaxed as we realised we felt within only minutes of arriving.

Fantastisches Zimmer (Superior Suite) sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal und ausgezeichnetes Essen, ruhige Lage in einer riesigen Parkanlage.

Ein wunderbares Haus, absolut traumhaft. Herrliche Ruhe, das Örtchen aber nicht weit weg. Wir waren leider nur für eine Übernachtung dort, aber ich würde jederzeit gerne wiederkommen. Wir hatten den Raum 'Cottage', ich fand alles zauberhaft. Abendessen und Frühstück sehr gut, beides auf der Außenterrasse, herrlich. Danke!

The staff was ok , overall Samantha that is very kind and professional. The park and the ancient building very nice.

Breakfast was excellent. The receptionist was uninspiring with no exceptional welcome which might have been excpected for arrivals. She offered to help with luggage and escorted us to our room, so no complaint; just a lack of an inspirational welcome. Something like..... "Welcome back (she might have seen we have stayed before) to our hotel,.how good to see you how was your journey; have you come far etc etc"

The evening Terrace Menu could have been better and the fish goujons we had were overbooked and very hard!

Die Lage ist fantastisch und das Anwesen ist einfach atemberaubend. Service und das Personal sind extrem aufmerksam und kundenorientiert. Der Garten und die Terrasse sind wunderschön.

Ein Manko ist, dass in keinem Raum eine Klimaanlage vorhanden ist. Das Bad ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und insbesondere die Armaturen könnten erneuert werden.

All excellent. Would be a bonus to have an outdoor pool. You can hear the busy road nearby which is a shame but other than that I would certainly go back and recommend this lovely place.

Lovely venue for a wedding.

Breakfast was disappointing. Requested gluten free in advance. Not able to do toast, got a bread roll that was rock hard and inedible. Given a replacement which was just as bad. No alternative available. It's not difficult to keep a loaf in the freezer and toast as needed.

Everything! The room was so beautiful and fancy. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. Staff extremely friendly and helpful and the grounds were so beautiful.

The beautiful period manor house, the Garden suite we stayed in, the restaurant, the staff... We found it great value for money, especially the prix fixe menu at dinner and ordering breakfast from the menu, as opposed to a tiring, dreary buffet was classy.

What's not to like? I suppose the bar and kitchen could have stayed open for folk returning from a Glyndebourne opera.

Super fun to stay at a manor house for such a good price. The food was top notch. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Nice walk around the grounds and surrounding area.

I actually did not like that modern wallpaper, carpet and furniture were all over the grand public spaces. The fake flowers were a bit tacky as well.

Driving through the trees to the entrance my shoulders relax. The serene surroundings of this place await. One of the top five in my hotel book - dreamy room at top of the house, superbly comfortable bed and generous bathroom, dinner has never disappointed nor breakfast. Seamless service always.

Staff were accommodating at check in and made sure we had transport for our evening plans. Our room was spacious. It was a nice bonus to get to use the nearby gym facilities for free and this was easy to arrange. The bar was available until late. Tea and coffee facilities in-room were very nice.

Any expectation of a luxury stay is misguided but if you are looking for a simple Travelodge style experience then this would suit very nicely.The decoration and furniture are very dated and we likened it to an old retirement home. Most of the hotel interior looks very tired. Our room had a large stain on the carpet and water was dripping from the ceiling in the lounge area. Items were out of stock for breakfast and details like proving butter with toast were neglected and we had to ask. All in all, it was comfortable but it was more reminiscent of Fawlty Towers than we would have liked given how much we paid. It would be nice if the suites were furnished with beds larger than doubles, but to be fair, this was not miss-sold, it just seems silly to have such little beds in rooms that are big enough for more. For the price, we sadly won't be returning.

All the staff were fab.

New decor is boring/modern. It does not match the beautiful building. Tv room in Tower Suite was just magnolia paint and a maroon sofa. Dinner very very disappointing. Lamb could have been a small ball of any meat. Did not want to finish it. Breakfast had no fresh fruit or buffet. No black pudding on full English.

Outstanding hotel and outstanding staff. Luxury at an affordable price. I’ve stayed at some other hotels in the same Condé Nast group which are double the price but nowhere near as friendly.

There was nothing not to like about the hotel.

Impressive country house with a recently renovated interior. All areas were clean, fresh and inviting. Staff were friendly and professional with a can do attitude. Our suite was very well appointed with warm furnishings. The bar, lounges and dining areas were relaxing with well planned layouts. Dinner and breakfast were both of a high quality with a wide range of options. The drinks menu was comprehensive. Our DB&B deal was fabulous value.

Ein exzellentes Hotel, mehr 5 Sterne als die angegebenen 4 Sterne. Ein sehr schönes Haus, mit einer angenehmen Atmosphäre und sehr freundlichem Personal. Ein sauberes und gut dekoriertes Zimmer. Sehr gutes Frühstück.

Es gab zwei Kleinigkeiten, die uns nicht gefallen haben: Zum einen hörte man recht gut die Landstraße, die nicht allzuweit weg ist. Und zum anderen haben wir beim Einchecken eine nicht zutreffende Information über den Preis des Abendessens erhalten (dieses Problem konnten wir aber mit einem Kompromiss lösen).

We booked a suite and walking up the main stairs was lovely, but to get to the suites the decor became very dated.

Stunning hotel in a lovely setting, our suite was very comfortable and well equipped. The gardens are beautiful, and the lounge area and restaurant delightful.

If I had to mention anything, the only small issue was the noise from the road which does run close by, and was at times a bit of a nuisance at night.

Our room had a bad smell when we arrived and despite staff agreeing that there was a smell we were charged £100 to change rooms. This was a 'room change fee' because they had no rooms available at the same price we paid. However the room change fee was more than the price difference for the next room up (I was happy to pay that difference). The rationale was that we had 'used' the first room - which we had not, we'd gone in, opened some windows and come straight back out of the room again. I don't want to blame any staff as I think this was hotel policy but I didn't find the hotel very apologetic or accommodating. I would not stay there again

une standing de cette qualité aurait mérité un lit super king size (180). nous avons dormi dans la suite, et elle etait magnifique. elle avait la place de tenir un lit super king size.Nous étions à l'etroit dans le lit et ca a gaché un peu la nuit. dommage

Rustig gelegen in een mooi parkdomein. Zeer lekker ontbijt en diner, zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Op anderhalf uurtje ben je in Londen met de trein, of op 40 minuten in Brighton met de auto.

Er zijn (nog) geen laadpalen voor EV's. De "Garden" kamer heeft nog enkel glas, dus je hoort wel wat verkeer.

De prachtige ligging en rustige omgeving van het hotel. De setting is echt bijzonder en het gebouw heeft veel charme.

Vooral de afstandelijke service en het gebrek aan duidelijke informatie (ontbijt, check-out, diner).

Food was a let down , dinner was noticeably less enjoyable than a year ago for our table of four. Breakfast also not particularly impressive, kitchen unable to soft poach eggs despite a specific request on day , crumpets stale/hard. Shower pressure, no room fridge, no airco ( not an issue in spring obviously), no safe in the rooms and finally please up your coffee offering substantially, it outsells tea in the UK .

We stayed in the Windsor Suite. It was amazing! Food was good if a little limited but overall we had a fabulous time. The staff were great and very attentive
