Staff were all excellent and the venue is beautiful
Personally chairs in room would be nice. However lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room. You cam request complementary tea and coffee but there is nothing like having the facility of making a hot drink when required.
Location in atmosphere and staff
Cosy, comfortable warm and inviting
Bedrooms are quite tight
Such a great place to stay. Close enough to Dublin and great for Laytown Races. Lots of great pubs nearby and a nice little town centre. Staff all amazing, friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast and food and great bar and pint of Guinness. Would return in a heartbeat, thank you.

Breakfast was good
Dated decor Weird smell in reception area Dusty small rooms Was no hot water in the room
The location was excellent
the room was a bit small and dark
Very helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. Fantastic food.
Nothing to dislike.
Rumor was extremely small difficult to even lay out our clothes
That room is only big enough for one person
The afternoon tea was the highlight of our stay! Thanks for providing gluten free options.
Bar area was lovely both Inside and out.
I prefer to make coffee in the room rather than have to stipulate a time to b served in my room.
Interior and building were beautifully maintained and the terrace, fountains and garden just lovely. Staff extremely helpful with any questions, and assisted to store my medication with no issues. Dinner in the gastrolounge was superb, Kate our waitperson was lovely. Enjoyed a coffee in my room, at first I wasn’t sure I liked the idea of having to call reception for this, but it was easy. Really comfy & huge bed! Thank you

Beautiful quaint hotel. Super comfortable bed. Very friendly and very helpfull staff.
Nothing to dislike about this hotel
The charm of the property, the proximity to the town, professional and friendly staff, lovely breakfast
nothing
Fabulous lunch with a great variety to select from the bar food menu. Lovely homely atmosphere in the bar, almost like stepping back in time to a period drama setting. The food was excellent in terms of quality and the service from the staff was friendly and efficient. Definitely a great place to visit for lunch, Dinner or just a quiet drink at the bar.
Loved absolutely everything. Outdoor setting.. smell of good food on arrival, the decor is so tasty! Room for perfect, pity we didn't stay longer!
Nothing
Staff customer service (went above and beyond), cleanliness and character of historical building.
Room really warm in hot weather and hard to ventilate, even with open window. If AC not possible in older building, fans would have been ideal.
Location great, staff lovely, quiet, breakfast good. Single room tiny, acrobatic skills needed to get to window and chair. No tea/coffee making facilities although advertised. Bathroom tight, too. When using toilet you have the wash hand basin on your lap. 2 taps, no mixer, water flow erratic. Great outdoor terrace with plenty of tables and seating, but no smoking area. Was told to go and stand in the carpark. Smokers def not welcome, only their money... All that for €159 for 1 night/ 1 person! Never again.
A gem... super comfortable stay, close to town, great food and quiet at night. Close enough to Dublin airport before returning home.
The building was lovely, very well appointed rooms! The restaurant terrace was lovely for supper. Great ambiance. The staff were very kind as well!
Atmosphere
Firstly, great location and lovely staff. However, I was with a disabled person and the outside lift was very dubious and didn't work properly. There was the same type of lift inside which also not great. Main restaurant was not open so we had our meal in the bar lounge, very uncomfortable with 6 people at two round tables. Signs outside stating there was no smoking. Staff said only smoking in the carpark. Food was very expensive fish and burgers excellent but basic chips were disgusting. The desserts was nice but very small. The bedroom we had was very small and had no tea or coffee making facilities. Reception said we could ring down for tea or coffee and any time free of charge but when 2 of our party wanted coffee before bed they were told the coffee machine was after being cleaned so gave them tea in paper cups. When they requested a biscuit to go with the tea the waitress said that the chef had gone home. Eventually someone opened the biscuits. Overall I wouldn't recommend, considering the price and in general feeling of being treated in quite a basic way. Definitely never going back.
I loved the atmosphere and the brilliant service
Lovely building and staff. Great location, clean ,plenty of parking, lovely food

meals were fantastic, eggs benedict at breakfast are a must!
No breakfast buffet but lovely menuu, lovely food.
Could do with a few hooks on the bathroom door for towels, especially if staying another night - no need to launder them, but good to let them dry a bit
Well located and really cosy with ample parking

Fantastic heritage building. Amazing staff and atmosphere. Thank you

Downtown location with free parking.
No tea/coffee service in the room but you could order complimentary tea/coffee ...as long as you had it in the room. The rooms are very small so we went to the outdoor patio and learned that complimentary tea/coffee did not apply to the patio. Because the rooms are so small, there is no where to enjoy the tea.
I attended a family wedding weekend on Saturday 27th June and breakfast the next day. It was an overwhelming experience.a pleasant atmosphere within the hotel, the food was superb and as for the waiting staff absolutely brilliant friendly and professional I would definitely recommend this hotel for any occasion. I will definitely return
Location, comfortable beds
All good
This is a real gem of a hotel. Whilst the town isn't the prettiest of towns it is a great location to visit loads of fantastic sites over the region. The rooms are not as large as other hotels but the public spaces are lovely. The staff are great and the food is excellent.
It is a Townhouse so don't expect great views from your bedroom. The hotel though is beautiful and has a lovely sitting out area.
It was a beautiful place, with charm, antique furniture, great bar and breakfast.
The room was very tight. We barely had room for our luggage.
I requested for an early check in to allow me dress up and attend a function that started at 2pm and this was houred, My room was ready when I arrived at about 1pm
I am not sure if the price is comparable with other boutique hotels in Droghedaq but I thought it was on the high side for a small town
Great location and all the staff we spoke to were very nice

Location
Smallest bedroom and shower I’ve ever seen. Room barely big enough for the bed. Toilet also tiny
My wife has mobility issues and there were lifts from car park to Reception and from Reception to first floor where our room was. Good to see! Really good breakfast choices.
There was a leak in the en suite which caused a puddle on the floor. This was reported and we were assured it would be repaired, it didn’t spoil our stay.
Nettes Personal sehr gutes Dinner
Zimmer sehr, sehr eng Lastenaufzug als Lift
Lovely hotel Friendly staff Great location
Room a bit small I’m a big lady No tea making facilities although staff bring tea to room
One of the nicest places we stayed. The rooms were beautiful and dinner was excellent.
Absolutely nothing.
The heritage aspect. The dining room and bar were beautiful.
The rooms are a bit rundown but not too bad.
Lovely location, free parking and very walkable.
The place takes you back to the 19th century decor wise and the rooms/beds are exceptional comfortable. Despite that nothing is dated. The breakfast is a la carte and not the usual buffet - I recommend the porridge and fruit as it it was a battery pack that kept us going til 2 or 3. The location is great for visiting newgrange, mellifont abbey etc as well as the Boyne valley and a short walk or taxi from the train station. The staff really made us feel welcome and looked after and the kitchen deserves a special mention - the food was exceptional.
One gripe which is a bit part and parcel of boutique hotels is that the showers in both rooms had technical issues (broken on off switch and a random loss of pressure). It was a bit annoying that we reported them on the first day but it seems that nothing was going to be done to fix the issues. The fact I still rate the place so well is because on every other point it is an exceptional place to stay with exceptionally friendly staff.
Consistently great. We have stayed in Scholars a number of times now and we cannot fault anything. A particularly lovely room this time complete with Four Poster bed. We have already booked our next stay!
Loved everything (as usual!)
Beautiful building
No kettle in room but complementary tea/coffe can be ordered at reception
Quirky and historic

The staff were fantastic. The coffee service was the best. Really enjoyed the facilities.
All was perfect
Location
We had a great experience at Scholars, loved the character of the hotel, and the staff and food were top class. Highly recommended. Great value as well.
The history of the building
I did not know about the lift as carried my case with a bit of difficulty up the steps
Really lovely building with a great atmosphere. Nice staff.
Very very dated rooms and facilities.
Great central location Staff are great, friendly and accommodating. Had a meal in the restaurant and it was amazing.
Вкусные ирландские завтраки,старинный ресторан антикварная мебель.Вкусные блюда.
Очень маленькие номера.
Such a lovely place to stay. Friendly staff all round and a picturesque hotel. The breakfast and food in the restaurant is lovely. We stayed get a few years ago and they have done the bathrooms up now so they have a modern look and no longer have a shower in a bath!
Nothing
Excellent food and staff as always.
Old charm small
Nothing only no crisps in bar at nights
The breakfast was fabulous. Beautiful dining room. The room was a good size and was clean. Really cool 4 poster bed and the hotel had a really cool vibe about it.
The taps made noise coming on and off, and the shower went hot and cold. There was a buzzing noise all night in the bathroom (not the fan as we managed to turn that off), so not the best sleep was had. Parking was tight!
The staff here are incredible! I booked afternoon tea for a mini baby shower for our friend today, we were so well looked after and the brought her a congratulations dessert without even having to be asked, it made her day! Thank you so much!
Food coffee
If pushed small room and dark corridor
The charm of the building and helpfullness of staff.
Room was very small. Only a few onches between bed and radiator to sqeese through to get into bed. Bathroom was tiny. No comfort. Very pricey and breakfast not included.
Breakfast was very good Maybe have some fruit ,yoghurt etc as well
Noise think it was the boiler
Lovely feel to the hotel. Staff were absolutely lovely
As a business traveller, nowhere to work in the room
Everything, nice staircase , furniture great , staff so helpful 👍
Nothing at all
Dinner. Very raspy food and excellent service.

Only one plug socket working in our room

Exiguité du tour de lit
No free breakfast
Very small rooms
I had one dinner at hotel and portion was small for what I paid.
There is no elevator and located at top of hill and very outdated and could hear people below at night and other people in room next door.staff
Central location to Drogheda Town. Friendly staff. Food ok (except for venison)
Honestly it was all just a little disappointing. They note some of their rooms are small and we specifically requested one of the larger rooms on our booking….however the room was really tiny, uncomfortably small. Very small double bed, very little room around the bed, trying to manoeuvre around bed especially at night was difficult. See photo of the few inches of space to get around bed/furniture. Room was like a sauna, we eventually found switch behind furniture to lower radiator. Bathroom had a smell and toilet roll holder fell off wall in middle of night. No hot water in the sink…let water run for a long time the next morning but no hot water came out (there was however hot water again when we were checking out but too late at that stage) Dinner was ok in general. 11 of is had dinner and majority enjoyed but 3 of us had the venison, supposed to be served medium but we all felt it was dry, tough and overcooked. Disappointing for the price you paid. Breakfast was fine but the waitress aprons were filthy (honestly looked like they hadn’t been washed in weeks) ….a little off putting getting served food. Staff themselves were very nice and friendly. As we were only staying the one night, it didn’t warrant complaining but it would put us off coming back.
