Very central to town
Bed slightly hard
Het goede eten en goede bediening
Beautiful old pub in middle of Faversham. Exceptionally friendly staff and great food.
Nothing.
The bedroom was clean as was the bathroom. The breakfast was good but lacking real butter.
The bedroom was tired and needs re-decorating. There are chipped and worn areas that do not look good. My wife's pillow was smelly. The bathroom was clean but again worn, leaky deposits around the bath and peeling paint. The shower was difficult to use. The door and hallway to the upstairs rooms are filthy and have not been cleaned in the two years when we last stayed. All in all, tired and needs a deep clean, expensive for what it is.
Lovely old pub, but should not be used for accommodation. Room far too small with no air conditioning so incredibly stuffy despite fans provided. Bathroom looked tatty, pipework boxed in behind toilet done poorly needed tiling
Comfortable and spacious room, and really quiet despite the central location. Fabulous breakfast the next day too, and certainly value for money as a last minute booking. Would highly recommend!
Nothing I can think of!
Lovely friendly staff. Excellent well served breakfast. Good location for the attractions of Faversham. Nice touches in the rooms.
Nothing really, I could hear some talking from a room below me. The shower had a fixed head and would only be suitable for someone around 5ft10 - not 6ft4 like me - not a real problem though.
Location was good it was clean and comfortable.
Lighting in room was very dim difficult when taking out my contact lenses.
Good accommodation with excellent staff.
We enjoyed the ‘Old Pub’ hotel atmosphere, the excellent breakfast menu and friendly staff and great room service/ cleaning etc. The proximity to the old town with all its shops and interesting architecture allowed us to explore on foot and leave the car in the nearby car park.
The car park was practical but quite expensive :( otherwise everything else was fine.
Very central
All Good
Dinner - ok Breakfast excellent, superb sour dough
food was fantastic and the staff were extremely friendly. the room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. i also really liked the small couch in the room. the room came with 2 fans which were on non-stop because of the heat. the curtains also helped keep the room cool too. sunday lunch was FANTASTIC. try the lamb :)
the layout of the room was a bit strange with the bed facing opposite the TV, but this was easily fixed by just moving the couch (it's very light). while the food in general was delicious, my only complaint was that the scrambled eggs were cooked differently depending on who is cooking breakfast that day. not necessarily a bad thing, i just wish that staff would ask how well-cooked you would like them. some like them soft, others like them more firm. i'm the latter where i don't like it when egg whites are raw, which was the case when i got scrambled eggs the second time. otherwise, it was really good
It was a really well preserved historical accommodation
Everything was great
Good location, lovely room
De sfeer en de locatie! Het eten was ontzettend lekker!
Niets
The location was perfect, the staff were very friendly and the facilities were great. Would highly recommend.
Very proactive staff
The hot water was scalding hot and the room temperature only just bearable.
Exceptional room with good amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful
Great stay - loved our room and all the attention to detail. Location very good. Staff were all Set friendly and extremely helpful
It’s a stunning period pub.
That it’s nowhere near where I live.
The room was well laid out, had all the amentiies of making tea/coffee plus free water and biscuits. The bathroom had dressing gowns and shower cap. The breakfast had a really good choice and was delicious.
There is nothing I didn't like.
Wonderful pub in a great location
We went mid heatwave and the room was too hot. They had given us two fans and offered an ice bucket. Not the hotels fault it was so hot though
Everything was amazing - the staff had thought of everything. we had breakfast & dinner and both were exceptional. The central location was perfect and although there is no on-site carparking, the Public Long Stay was close by and reasonably priced
traditional english inn with very spacious and well appointed rooms nice little extras like nespresso, cookies, shaving kit, tooth kit And coffee and cookies from local suppliers great food, great breakfast
The staff were all incredibly welcoming and helpful, and so accommodating - we couldn’t have asked for more! It’s in a great location too.
Nothing really, we loved everything about the sun inn. The only unfortunate event being the live music which went on until 11pm today on the Friday night, which was very loud in our room. It would have been nice to have been warned in advance.
Personal und Pub
Dachzimmer, viel zu warm nur ein Ventilator. Keine eigenen Parkplätze. Der gesamte Ort ist verkehrstechnisch incl. Park Möglichkeiten eine Kathastrophe.
It was a very central location and the pay and display car park was right outside making it easy to get to with luggage. The room was spotlessly clean and every amenity had been catered for. Tea Coffee, toiletries etc. The check-in was made o line and just a case of collecting the key on arrival. The staff were polite and extremely welcoming and appear they could not do enough for you. Breakfast was amazing and the restaurant again spotlessly clean and well run. Outdoor seating was a nice relaxing touch after a long drive. We would now always make this a first choice on where to stay.
Nothing at all
Lovely room and hotel. Great pub with outdoor area too. Fantastic location. Breakfast was freshly cooked. Staff all friendly and helpful.
Very hot room as no air con. We had both fans on all night and window open but was still very hot
Beautiful old pub in a gorgeous village. Staff were extremely helpful.
Couldn’t fault it
The room is gorgeous, bed was comfy and it was all clean. Despite the heatwave you provided effective fans. The meals and drinks were all fabulous. Your staff were helpful and efficient. Thank you.
Nothing. We were very satisfied. Everything was great. Can’t fault anything. I did have to retune your TV but it was fine! I would like to be able to afford to stay longer!
Just lovely — ideal for a relaxing break
Nothing
Really quirky building with loads of character. Very clean and great central location. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made you feel so welcome. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely hotel and pub very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast included.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Main street location and pub and restaurant downstairs
The staff were very friendly on arrival and willing to help. Location is convenient and rooms are spacious and have good facilities. Breakfast was to a very high standard.
1) Rooms had cobwebs and had 10+ flies in the bathroom on arrival, which you would not expect for the sum on money paid. 2) There was a storm in the night which led to substantial leaks in the room/bathroom, meaning sleep was not possible for one co worker. Staff were very helpful in switching rooms and whilst I understand circumstances may have been exceptional, this really should not have happened for the sum of money paid.
Room great, staff friendly and helpful.
I would have liked some ordinary instant coffee sachets in the room. There was a coffee making machine, but I had no idea how it worked! Breakfast was disappointing. Hot food barely warm. Coffee too strong but not hot. Fresh fruit was snatched away while we were still eating.
Beautiful rooms, very well equipped with lovely little touches (coffee machine/toiletries/iron and board). Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Fabulous breakfast and value for money!
Nothing - everything was excellent - would highly recommend
staff were particularly friendly and helpful. on arrival our room was too stuffy and hot. once reported they switched us to a different room
sourdough bread - not a fan
Love staying at the Sun it is exceptional in every way I always stay here whenever I'm in Faversham
A friend and I stayed at The Sun Inn for five nights. It is excellently located with a car park only a couple of minutes' walk away. Be mindful if staying in Room 2 (which I was) of the live music immediately below in the garden until 11pm on a Friday - not good for those seeking an early restful night! We enjoyed the evening meals, although the breakfast was rather more hit and miss, particularly with no 'proper' butter available, only Flora! It was eventually supplied, after several requests and three mornings later!! We felt that bowls of fresh fruit salad, berries and yoghurt should all have been offered prior to selecting a cooked breakfast. Despite those minor points, we would definitely stay at that inn again (efficient and pleasant staff) and Faversham itself is a delightful place!!
Great breakfast
Parking issues
The location was perfect
Nothing
Its location is excellent. Amazingly quiet being away from any road. We were upgraded and the room was extremely spacious. Staff were very welcoming
Nice pub, friendly staff Large room Good breakfast Great location
Bathroom was quite mouldy and stinky and needs refurb. Hottest day of the year and no air con. Dyson fan not sufficient.
Great location, food and atmosphere and pleasantly surprised to be given a room upgrade.
The Sun Inn was excellent all round . Particularly good breakfast selections.
The sun Innwas excellent. The Faversham parking kiosk was an issue and didn't work very well.
A great weekend away (re-union of sorts) in Faversham, Kent. The Sun Inn and the staff were great from the start. A friendly Manager (Irish fella) and the Reception/Bar staff made us very welcome. The room was excellent, very spacious and clean with a clean bathroom and fresh towels provided. The menu and the food provided was also excellent, a credit to the "never seen" kitchen staff. Good value for the room and no waiting necessary as we arrived early evening. Anyone heading to Faversham I would suggest going on a Friday so you can see the town market on Saturday
The location was great, the breakfast was amazing, staff were very friendly
Really friendly, helpful and flexible staff. The history of the building
amazing atmosphere and professionalism
Great hostelry stay where all of the staff were skilled helpful and pleasant. Had great beer, evening meal and breakfast. Its also a very quaint and lovely old inn.
all was good for me.
everything went well, I was taking break after a bereavement and it was perfect for a woman alone the staff were friendly and attentive and I felt comfortable the whole time I was there
Shower pressure and heat weren't great but I was using it in the morning along with everyone else I imagine
Fantastisk boende i charmigt gammalt hus. Smakfullt inredda rum. Vänlig personal. Gott kaffe
The staff are helpful and gave us a choice of rooms breakfast was great and rooms were great clean and well happy when we had dressing gown and the bed
Nothing negative to say
Good beer, food and wine, comfortable, clean rooms, helpful staff, good location
Very friendly staff, good atmosphere in pub, comfortable room, excellent food (dinner and breakfast)
Very traditional pub/accommodation that hasn’t been messed around with. Lots of oak beams. Very friendly and helpful staff .
No parking but £8 for 24 hours just 2 mins away
Super helpful staff, lovely rooms and great breakfast
Lack of parking!
We stayed for two nights at The Sun Inn for our wedding accommodation as a group of 18 people. No one could fault their room which were all lovely and the pub itself is historic and cosy. The evening meal and breakfasts we had were all great and very tasty. The staff were incredible and went out of their way to help us whenever we needed, particularly on the morning of our wedding. We would highly recommend staying, eating, and drinking here. Some of our guests have mentioned they will visit again and stay here.
Close to everything Friendly staff
Door knocking
Gorgeous accommodation everything perfect Staff were so helpful and friendly Food was excellent and very good quality
Nothing
Beautiful historic inn and fantastic friendly staff. We were in a double room which was lovely and immaculately cleaned, lots of amenities and nice touches. We were overlooking the beer garden and it was very loud until 11:30pm, as it’s an old building we could also hear our neighbours very well so take ear plugs and you will be fine. The food was exceptional I had the croquettes and then spatchcock chicken and it was delicious, homemade and perfectly cooked. The French server was also so knowledgable and welcoming. The restaurant is a really nice cosy setting. Breakfast in the morning was also brilliant and included in our room price, we were served so quickly with a lot of choice! Only tiny thing was I would’ve preferred butter to flora but other than that it was excellent. We look forward to retuning!
Beautifully charming inn very central location great food
Rooms were advertised on a board outside as £99 with breakfast I paid more!
Quaint pub and lovely bedrooms. Clean, well presented and lots of room goodies. Breakfast amazing
No parking. However very easy to park locally for the night using ringo.
Excellent staff and setting. We'll be back!
Friendly staff, warm welcome, breakfast excellent and accommodation perfect.
Fire alarm went off 4am which luckily turned out to be false alarm gone off in cellar the staff on site told us.
The staff were really friendly and helpful Loved having fresh water and milk
Just a couple of things. The light in the bathroom over the sink didn't work. The fan in the bathroom didn't work. The toilet roll holder was broken.
It's a lovely old building, with wood-panelled bar and generously sized rooms upstairs. Everything was comfortable and clean, with very friendly staff. At the end of a long day it was great being able to have a drink and dinner in a relaxed pub atmosphere then go straight upstairs to bed!
Lovely pub and the room was great too. Very comfortable and lots of little extras in the room that was appreciated. Even though the room was over a pub and overlooked the pub garden it was very quiet. We were a little worried about the parking but despite arriving on a Saturday being market day we parked in Partridge lane car park easily and paid on Ringo for around £7.80 for 24 hours. We visited the brewery on a tour and it was amazing. The next day we walked along the creek which was really nice
Third visit here, lovely room and inn, staff mist obliging , breakfast spot on, room fantastic, very good ale too . Highly recommend
Great location, very friendly staff. Very cosy bar with different little nooks, super breakfast
This is something that I always feel the need to state on many of my comments on Booking.com.. pillows .. invest it decent pillows, I felt the urge to get up in the middle of night and walk to where our car was parked to get a pillow from the car, I didn’t of course but thought of nothing else all night! Our shower only had cold water despite our bath having extremely hot water.
Very good size room, bed and bathroom with a good shower. Nice pub with a few ales on. Great location in the centre of the town. Nice to get fresh milk for the room.
There was a bright green light over the bathroom door that illuminated the whole bedroom at night. The bed was two single mattresses pushed together so not so good if there's only one of you in the bed. Person came around to clean the room at 4pm just after I had returned from a very long walk. Sourdough bread and very crispy bacon for breakfast (not to my liking but I know it'd a case of personal preference). Potato rosti was omitted from the breakfast on the second day.
The room was very spacious, and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.
The plumbing in the bathroom left a little to be desired. The water in the shower was so hot and the taps so stiff you could not adjust.
EVERYTHING WAS GREAT INCLUDING; STAFF, PUB, FACILITIES, FOOD, AMBIANCE, ROOM, CLEANLINESS !
NOTHING
Lovely hotel in the centre of Faversham with very welcoming staff. The room was very clean and well presented with everything required for a weekend stay. There was a good choice of cooked meals for breakfast and the one lunch I had in the restaurant was also excellent.
Lovely Inn, beautifully clean and well presented. Felt very welcomed.
Nothing
We had a bery nice stay over a long weekend at the Sun Inn. We srayed in room 2, which was towards the rear of the property, overlooking beer garden. The room was a good size and bed very comfortable. The only downside was being over what We believe was a kutchen door, which banged during the time the restaurant was open. Other than that, it was quiet once the restaurant had closed. It was a nice touch being able to get a small flask if milk for tea and coffee. The breakfast was very good
The staff are lovely, the food is great and the rooms are excellent.
Location and the room was cozy. Great history surrounding the property
Bathroom needs a bit of tlc but still ok
Town centre location
Everything was OK
Beautifully clean , great location , breakfast ( poached egg hard and bacon little overcooked) but was nice , presented really well . Staff really helpful and polite would recommend highly
Stairs a little steep and curvy but of course you expect this with an older property
Everything would stay again
Nothing
Steeped in history and really great character, centrally located. In a pub, but remarkably quiet considering we were adjacent to the bar and the bar was loud. Super friendly staff
Not enough light for makeup application, and the emergency light above toilet was particularly bright, needed to cover it with some clothes so we could sleep
Beautiful building with lots of history. Very nice vaulted ceiling in the bedroom.
There was just a little bit of mould around the shower and bath. It didn’t bother us but let the bathroom down a little bit.
Our 2nd stay. Room 12 this time. Lovely room. Great, very helpful staff. Handy location for our visit to friends in Faversham.
Pillows were terrible. Small and not supportive. The shower water was tepid even after running. The toilet seat doesn't fit properly. These are just niggles and don't affect our good opinion of The Sun.
