Abbiamo dormito nella depandance posta di fianco alla struttura principale. Camere spaziose. Colazione abbondante anche non alcuni piatti caldi.

Camere un pò umide e fredde. Finestre che non isolavano completamente dall'esterno ma poco traffico.Un pò sottodimensionato lo staff per la colazione.

Mattress on bed was terrible, room was a box, no WiFi, tv didn’t get reception so absolutely nothing to do.

The location was near the train station which suited me. The breakfast was cooked fresh. The room was clean.

The hotel in in the same street as a fire station and no double glazing. The bed was hard and uncomfortable for my liking. The decor of the room was needing a refresh and paint. The shower door was broken and unstable. Bedroom window was padlocked closed. Bathroom window was painted closed.

No restaurant on a weekend. Just needed a wee bit of a modernise. Could be a gorgeous place if a bit of money spent on it

The shower was hot. Breakfast was nice. Breakfast guy was great!

I paid for a king and got a double. My room had no Internet which also meant the TV did not work. The tea was awful, we had spoiled milk in the room. There was a plastic sheet on the bed which was very noisy. Furniture was very poor quality, made noise every time we moved. Had to get on hands and knees to use the plug on the left side of the bed.

Close proximity to train station and bus stops. Small town feel.

Just the booking in and out times for the price you didn’t get to actually stay for long in the room and the restaurant wasn’t open on the Saturday or Sunday that I didn’t know about

Close to the centre. Managed to get a parking space right outside hotel. Room was beautiful. Breakfast lady was lovely and cheery.

Receptionist wasn't very happy, didn't let us know breakfast times etc, no one at reception whilst leaving. The room was far too hot. The cooked breakfast wasn't done properly the sausage and bacon looked raw.

It was very clean. The staff were excellent.

My room was very compact. The bathroom fan ran all night. AC unit/fan outside window came on and off all throughout the night. Sleep was subsequently disrupted.

The Royal Hotel is 5 minutes of the railway station and 15 minutes from the town centre The room was spotlessly clean and the bed really comfortable The breakfast was good too

This hotel was anything but “Royal.” After a seven-hour drive to Elgin, we got an email saying the restaurant was closed, but we didn’t see it while on the road. When we arrived, a note on the door told us to call a number for assistance. No one had mentioned we’d be staying in the annexe, and with no staff in sight, we had to call again just to figure out where to go. Eventually, a lovely staff member showed up and explained that both the restaurant and bar were closed and confirmed we were in the annexe. The room was clean but very basic—just one wooden chair and nowhere comfortable to relax. We ended up grabbing food from the supermarket across the street. Breakfast was terrible, clearly made with the cheapest ingredients. The only bright spot was the genuinely kind and helpful staff, but sadly, their warmth couldn’t make up for such a disappointing stay.

Poor quality

This hotel was far from “Royal.” After travelling seven hours to Elgin, we received an email informing us that the restaurant was closed. On arrival, we were met with a note on the door telling us to phone a number for help. There were no staff around, and we had to call again just to find out where to go. A lovely staff member eventually appeared and explained that both the restaurant and bar were closed, and that we were in the annexe. The room was tidy but basic, with only one wooden chair and nowhere comfortable to sit. We had to buy food from the supermarket across the road. Breakfast was extremely poor quality, clearly made with the cheapest ingredients available. The only saving grace was the staff—both people we dealt with were genuinely kind and helpful. Unfortunately, their efforts couldn’t make up for the overall disappointment of our stay.

Second room they offered us was very good clean and large.

First room they offered us stank of stale smoke ,when we complained she came up said she couldnt smell anything.The smell of stale smoke was putred ,when we asked for a refund she foind us a nice fresh room.

Location was good and close to the station.

Paid for a luxury single room. No wardrobe or hangers for clothes. The mattress was so old that you could feel all the springs and was very uncomfortable that I had two nights with no sleep.

Sehr lieblos und kühl eingerichtet. Kein Wohlfühlcharakter, wäre mit ein wenig Geschick möglich. Von den Wänden platzt der Putz ab und die Teppichböden sind nicht sauber, es zeigen sich Flecken. Die Böden sind zum Teil schief. In der Mansarde läuft das Wasser über eine Pumpe nur langsam ab. Warmwasser wird über einen Boiler der im Feuchtraum eingebaut ist, erhitzt. Wasserdruck gering. Keine Absaugung im Bad. Sichtschutz am kleinen Fenster ohne Seilzug. Kein Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Die Zimmertreinigung auf das Nötigste beschränkt, kein Austausch benutzterTassen. Kein Ersatz für Handtücher und fehlende Gläser. Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass das Personal überfordert bzw. genervt wirkte. Die Wege von Küche zum Speisenraum waren weit. Die Servicekraft ging teilweise mit einem Teller nacheinander, verwendete kein Tablet. Trug über lange Zeit Einmalhandschuhe, räumte alle Tische ab und reinigte die Tische damit. Eine Arbeitskleidung wäre angebracht. Das Angebot im Frühstücksraum lieblos angerichtet, kein Käse, keine Wurst, kein Gemüse. Getränke wurden in einer Kühlvitrine offen stehen gelassen Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen und ist sanierungsbedürftig. Das Restaurant hat nur auf Wunsch geöffnet, obwohl die Lage nicht schlecht für ein Lokal wäre.

The bed was super comfortable, best sleep we have had for a long time.

The loud noises caused by flushing the toilet or running the taps. Breakfast was a bit chaotic.. cutlery missing, ran out of milk, no clear indications of what to do, for example, how to get a cooked breakfast? Table service or not?

This hotel is located near the center of Elgin and near the train station. The rooms have a lot of space and they are clean .The workers were nice . The breakfast is good but there is not a lot of food and they should expand the buffet. In general this hotel is good for workers and it’s simple and clean.

Lovely big spacious room. Within walking distance to town etc. Bus from outside takes you by coach to Inverness. Breakfast was nice enough but found it strange that Restaurant was closed for evening meal at weekend. No bar? Or didn't see one.

Didn't like that we were on third floor with no lift. As I'd just had a knee replacement it was a pain. Very steep stairs and narrow going up top set of stairs. Didn't have the option of selecting lower floor when we booked, maybe something Booking.com could give you a choice. There was a elderly 84 year old man up on the same floor as up. The Hotal was full so couldn't get a room change. Would have preferred toast, tea, milk etc to be brought to the table as it was a bit of a faff getting cups, plates, milk, making tea and making toast etc. It was busy so hanging about waiting on toaster.

Freundliches Personal Saubere Zimmer

Beim Früstück wirkte das Personal gestresst Wir waren knapp fertig mit essen wurde der Tisch schon abgeräumt. Konnte noch rechzeitig meine volle Kaffeetasse halten sonst wäre sie auch abgeräumt worden.

No tatty scone on a full Scottish breakfast but other than that was good WiFi and TV didn't work very well and when staff were asked to help were slightly unhappy to offer assistance so just watched normal TV in the end

Bed was amazing - everything worked properly and the room was scrupulously clean. Even the radiators worked, ideal for a Scottish Summer! Very spacious, and comfortable.

Very personal preference I know, but I would have liked to be walking around on a carpet in the main room. Makes the room feel a little cosier, but I know it's just me being picky.

Nobody at reception when I arrived and had to pay for the accommodation after 4pm. Could not close bathroom door.

I ate in the bar for dinner, food was good and service great. The hotel is nice with plenty of parking, room was big and incredibly clean! The shower was a highlight, spacious, modern and powerful. Breakfast was one of the best quality I have had in Scotland, nice clean set up and very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again if the price is good.

The outside of the hotel bit rundown

We received a free upgrade to larger rooms on both rooms booked which was great, specially for my adult son who was given a king room instead of a single. Bed was huge and comfortable and rooms very big also. Breakfast was fine although could have been explained a little better as to what you helped yourself to etc Plenty of parking spaces available

There was a sound of dripping water in the toilet on and off throughout the night although I am a very light sleeper anyway!

Opposite Lidl with neon sign. No curtains in room, just a roller blind so it was light all night. Heard lots of traffic and sirens. Very hard pillows and mattress

I spent a comfortable night in the hotel's main building, in a spacious, refurbished room. It is clearly an old hotel where great efforts are being made to bring it up to modern standards and I wish it well - for it is in an excellent location for Elgin's attractions. I would, however, suggest replacing the front door in order to improve a somewhat dowdy first impression on arrival.

Nothing the hotel was a miserable place to stay. I was with my son for 3 nights. The room was clean and bed comfortable, but there was no where to put your clothes. The staff were very unprofessional, the receptionist was useless. I asked her a couple of questions, she could not give me answer just said "don't know: Bar was not open. seemed very little staff. Very noisy at night, I presume it may have been the plumbing Would not recommend. We spent our evening at the hotel next door

Honestly, horrible experience. Just don't bother. £125 for 1 night, rooms are VERY basic, food wasnt great, wouldn't recommend at all. Hotel isnt as advertised, at all.
