Mansion House Hotel

The Breakfast was very good. the room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large with plenty of space to put toiletries etc., and one of the few hotels I have visited that didn't have a loose toilet seat.

I cant think of anything.

Location and parking

The whole building is run down and things like toilet fans didn’t work. The staff were completely overrun with a modest resident load and did their best with little training.

It was a great location with plenty of parking. The staff was very friendly and it was a good place to stay for the money.

The room we were in had loose bathroom tiles and we could hear other people talking in their room. It wasn’t too loud and overall it was a nice room.

Fint gammelt bygg. Ligger litt for seg selv i en egen park.

Vi bodde i portnerboligen. Lignet ikke på noen av bildene på nett. Kunne med fordel ha vært pusset opp. Da hadde det vært en liten perle. Frokosten var heller ikke helt topp, og resepsjonisten som møtte oss ville helst slippe å vise oss veien til portnerboligen… ikke imponert over han. Derimot var resten av personalet svært hyggelig. Potensial for å bli en top notch plass.

The hotel is well located to explore Elgin and the Moray. The restaurant on-site for breakfast was great. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and very quiet. We enjoyed sitting outside at the tables near the River and even were treated with regular visits from Bella the neighborhood cat.

It is beautiful property that could It could use a refresh on some carpeted areas, the bed canopies and some of the furnishings.

Breakfast was lovely, room was comfy I was in the lodge.

The location is an easy walk into town. Our room was comfortable having switched to a room with en suite bathroom. The hotel is ok but a little tired in its decor. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious,

Fukt och viss mögellukt i rummet. Ofräscht. Byggnaden är i stort behov av renovering av installationer såsom ventilation och värme, men även fönster, dörrar och invändiga ytskikt.

Exceptional room, exceptional staff, exceptional architecture and décor.

Hotellet var helt fantastisk og havde en helt særlig charme med sin smukke, historiske slotstemning. Personalet var utrolig venligt, imødekommende og hjælpsomt. Morgenmaden var fantastisk og levede virkelig op til forventningerne. Alt i alt havde vi et skønt ophold

Questo albergo/castello incanta all'arrivo facendoti fare un salto indietro nel tempo. Tipica location d'altri tempi in stile Scottish con camere enormi e confortevoli . Ottima la colazione con buffet e scelta di piatti dal menù. a 10 minuti a piedi dal centro

A voler essere pignoli un pò più di acuratezza su alcuni dettagli della struttura .

petit déjeuner exceptionnel. la deuxième chambre était très bien. la personne de l'accueil était très compréhensive et très professionnelle.

Dans la première chambre, il y avait un bruit incessant de clim. les salles de bain sont vieillissantes, les douches ne fonctionnaient pas, seul les baignoires fonctionnaient.

Large spotlessly clean room and bathroom with extremely comfortable huge sleigh bed. Great views over the river and easy walking access to the town centre. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and extremely helpful staff. Plenty of parking close to the entrance. Elegant and comfortable public spaces.

Only gripe was in the morning the narrow corridor with two steps was in complete darkness- not ideal for two pensioners! As the rest of the hotel had power, I presumed that this was a trip switch problem and reported it accordingly. An hour later the issue had not been dealt with- much to the consternation of us and the room staff. A minor gripe and certainly it did not spoil an otherwise very comfortable stay.

Desayuno caliente a elegir de un carta con bastante variedad. Platos hechos al momento muy buenos y abundantes. Además, hay una parte de buffet tipo continental muy completa.

Por decir algo, la ubicación, ya que estaba un poco apartado. En 10 minutos andando llegabas a las calles principales de Elgin.

Hotel particolare e suggestivo. Camere non nuovissime ma spaziose e comode. A qualche minuto dal centro, lo staff è stato molto gentile e disponibile. Colazione tipica scozzese molto buona. Il letto molto molto comodo.

It was a lovely location and a beautiful hotel.

I felt trying to have a shower was a bit difficult for me because of the height.

No evening restaurant and Elgin many shops have closed a lot of empty units very limited restaurants the Granary was closed and when it's open only partial ovens working limited menu great curry houses and a very expensive restaurant but apart from that not much to offer in the way of dining unless you hunt down other hotels that are not too expensive or settle for Burger King KFC McDonald's

Schöne Lage auf einem parkähnlichen Grundstück. Charme eines alten Landsitzes, geschmackvolle Aufenthaltsraume (Bar, Billard). Das Zentrum von Elgin ist zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal.

Teilweise abgewohnt. Die Fenster in unserem Zimmer ließen sich zwar öffnen, aber nicht fixieren. Frühstück eher durchschnittlich.

La piscina no estaba disponible y al hotel en general le iría bien un poco de mantenimiento.

Das Zimmer war alt und schmuddelig, die Decke des Betts hatte Löcher, die Platten im Badezimmer waren lose. Die Polstersitze waren durchgesessen, der Teppich fleckig. Das Hotel nennt sich Country Club, jedoch waren sämtliche Country Club Angebote gestrichen!

Rustig gelegen op het eind van een oprijlaan. Mooi grasveld met bomen voor het hotel. Stadscentrum met gezellige pub en restaurants op 5 minuten lopen. Grote xl supermarkt om de hoek van hotel. Nette kamers met prima ontbijt. Gezellige lounges met grote snookertafel. Hotel heeft nog de oude grandeur uitstraling.

In onze kamer kon je de temperatuur van het bad/douchewater niet goed afstellen.

Man sieht, dass der Zahn der Zeit etwas am Hotel genagt hat, hat aber auch seinen Charme...

De buurt eromheen is echt heel lelijk. Het dorp is zeer slecht onderhouden. Maar daar kan de accommodatie niets aan doen.

Breakfast was good. Our room was kept very clean by housekeeping.

No cheery good morning from the weekend restaurant staff. This was very different on the Monday & Tuesday. No restaurant available for evening meals. Other occupants brought back takeaways. Empty boxes were piled up outside a room with associated smells. On the morning of our departure the reception/manager thought it was acceptable to show someone around our room before we had vacated. This was despite us telling him that we hadn't finished in the room. There was no one on reception to raise our issues with at the time of our departure. We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years and we can't believe how much it has gone down hill. Management need to knuckle down and improve all areas.

Very convenient location, excellent breakfast (and really warm hospitality)! Very easy to get to distilleries, the beachside, and Elgin had a lot of local amenities. The hotel has a lot of history, and we discovered that its restaurant was previously nominated for food awards (as evidenced by the plaques in the drawing room); however, it no longer serves dinner.

Just be aware, the bath was a bit deep. At 6 foot tall, I still struggled a bit getting in and out of the bath for a shower. Although they have a stocked gym and spa facilities, they don't have someone to oversee it currently and it doesn't seem like there is an imminent plan to revive this.

Anche le aree comuni meritano una menzione speciale: saloni raffinati, un biliardo a disposizione degli ospiti e un'ambientazione regale che rende il soggiorno ancora più speciale. La colazione è stata eccellente, con prodotti di qualità serviti in una sala elegante e di grande classe. The place was beautiful. Staff were lovely. Rooms were clean & tidy with plenty of room for cases etc. facilities were great. Plenty of car parks. Gr8 location from eateries.

Das Hotel ist schön und preiswert. Bis in die Innenstadt in Elgin muss man ein paar Minuten laufen. Am Personal wird maximal gespart, eine einzige Person für die Bar und die Rezeption

Frühstück war leider ungeniessbar. Der Hotelangestellte war nicht sehr hilfsbereit: Hat glücklich 5 Pfund Trinkgeld angenommen und hat einen dann selber das Gepäck hochtragen lassen..... Die Zimmerschlüssel funktionieren manchmal, manchmal nicht - so dass wir ihn abends des öfteren rausklingeln mussten weil man nicht mehr in sein Zimmer kam. Dusche in Badewanne - was für ältere Menschen gar nicht möglich wg Rutschgefahr und Höhe der Badewanne.

Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. Really close to the city center too. The staff were excellent, so welcoming and friendly nothing was a problem to them. Will definitely be back.

They weren't serving evening meals when we were there but they were more than willing to organise transportation and give recommendations for places to eat nearby.

Breakfast menu was really comprehensive, everything I'd expect and done really, really well. Met a deer on the driveway at midnight and had a wonderful time in Elgin as a town. How welcoming. Really friendly staff.

Wi-Fi was rather dodgy. Glad I had my hotspot from the work phone for entertainment or I'd have had a hard time.

It felt tired and the showers took along time for hot water.

Bel hotel. Nous avions une belle chambre avec une grande sdb. Un tres bon accueil. Tout le personnel est souriant et vous aide si vous avez un probleme. Un grand merci a la dame de l'accueil qui nous réchauffait les plats le soir. Et un merci particulier au "chef" de nous avoir préparer un repas a notre arrivée.

We were disappointed expecting to stay in a lovely mansion but were allocated to a gamekeeper’s lodge about 150yards from the main building then we discovered there was no tv signal and toilets were in the corridor manager tried to fix tv without success

Shower: the motion sensor controlling the lighting did not register that the shower was occupied resulting in the bathroom being plunged into darkness mid shower. Interest8ng

The huge bed was so high my wife needed a step to get in to it, it was very comfortable and spacious

The hotel needs a revamp

This was an exceptionally good looking building, lovely staff, good breakfast and a very comfy bed. The grounds are well kept with ample parking, the interior of the hotel is a bit tired but they are trying desperately to keep on top of it. Our bathroom was newly fitted and beautiful. I think you need to keep in context that things are a little worn when considering the nightly charge, you can't have everything! Plenty of restaurants near by.

Lovely peaceful hotel where you could sit back relax and enjoy the nice surroundings.

Nothing wrong with the shower just that it was an over the bath and for anyone with limited mobility would be a struggle to get in and out.
