Perfect spot
I struggle with arthritis the route to my room was difficult but I managed

Lovely room, great location, very nice restaurant and bar. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Really enjoyed our stay, wish we had more time to stay a bit longer. We'll return!
The breakfast experience was exceptional. Big welcome from the staff. Best coffee I’d had during the whole of my 1 month stay in UK. Delicious breakfast cooked exactly as I’d asked. I was tea impressed
Pre arrival information about the location of the nearest long stay parking would have been helpful. I was given the information when I rang the contact number but would have been good to have it before I arrived in Romsey. Also, I was a bit confused about where the main entrance was. A sign on the door facing the street would be useful.
Amazing old property
Being picky the shower room was slightly on small side
Perfectly placed in the middle of town, beautifully building and very well kept.
Nothing
The room was clean and spacious.
There were a couple of fixtures that were broken. Drawer handles missing, shower door handle was broken and a lamp wouldn't work.
Very centrally located with friendly staff.
Loved the old building, very central

Lovely old hotel Evening meal was superb
Having to find parking but wasn't difficult
It was a great location and friendly service
The room was boiling! Now I know it had two fans in, and the windows were slightly ajar. But even so, maybe adjusting the windows a bit so we could have more air flow. Ruined our experience as we couldn’t sleep well at all as it was so hot. I do understand it’s a heatwave so I sympathise with the fact there is only so much you can do. On the other hand, knowing it is so hot, it would have made sense for there to be a mini fridge with at least some cold refreshments so the bottles of water provided weren’t warm. I’m assuming you could of provided fresh water that was cold but I think for £130 this isn’t something you should be expected to ask for, the service could have been better in terms of offering something like this as I’m sure the whole team knew how hot it was. Sad because I’ve always enjoyed staying here, but I may consider other places next time.
A very nice stay. Lovely staff and a beautiful venue and location. The main feature was definitely the setting and the staff. Both are fab. The room set up with fan on and classical music playing is a nice touch.
The hot water pipes that run under the bathroom create an unintended heated floor, they also heat up the cold water pipe, which is likely not ideal for legionada, I don't believe they have been properly insulated and lagged. The shower door was slightly broken and the head does not adjust well. The windows don't fully open and there was no air con which when combined with the always on hot water heating make the room quite uncomfortable in summer. The bathroom ventilation feels limited and extractor fan could use being more powerful or efficient. It felt like the room was in need of renovation for summer living and that the prior work in the bathroom was done with a limited budget or very limited time available.
It was convenient for the wedding we were attending at the church.
No lift and no parking. No electric sockets at bedside. Uneven flooring. My husband and I are 84 and 83 with balance and walking problems.
The breakfast was excellent

Very clean, comfortable, great location, friendly staff
The central location, the outside dining area, the friendly staff. Food good but more variety would be appreciated. Romsey is a fascinating little town, a wheel chair friendly heritage trail.
Difficult finding parking. Provide the post code for the car park, not just the hotel.
A comfortable and relaxing room, with good decor. The little duck in the bathroom is a quirky touch which makes you smile
I stay at this hotel frequently and it never fails to be exquisite. The staff are fantastic and welcoming and the rooms are well presented woth fantastic attention to detail.
That I can’t stay longer and for pleasure, rather than work! Also, it makes any other hotel I stay in look just a little less impressive!!
Very easy check in. The hotel is in a lovely location. We stayed in the loft room. The room was very spacious and had a well thought out layout. Bathroom was lovely and modern, room and bathroom were both very clean. Room had aircon too which was ideal for the hot weather. We had full English breakfast the next morning which was very tasty. Overall such a great stay would definitely recommend.
Downside was no direct parking however there was a carpark only a short walk away, which wasnt a problem at all. Nothing we didn't like about the hotel.
It was really clean & the breakfast was lovely. The staff were friendly.
Nothing to not like!
Booked for breakfast this morning. Our first time at The White Horse. Excellent food staff very attentive. Warm atmosphere. Would definitely return.
Location
Room very warm
Loved my stay! The room was clean, cosy, and very comfortable, making it a great place to relax. The staff were lovely, friendly, and welcoming throughout. The location was very central, making it easy to get around and explore. Having parking available was also a bonus. Overall, a great experience and I would happily stay here again.
If I could change one thing, I would have loved a stronger fan or air conditioning in the room, especially on these hot summer days.

We visited for lunch without a booking. The restaurant was fully booked but we were found a table outside. I had roast chicken and my partner had the smaller lamb option, which was just one slice of meat with the rest of the roast trimmings. Everything was absolutely delicious, with very flavoursome vegetables. We were tempted into having pudding. The pannacotta was the best I have had with a medley of delightful flavours; ginger, sweet rhubarb, tangy raspberry coulis, and toasted orange all complimenting each other. The first mouthful was a lovely surprise. There was very pleasant live music with a good singer and this added to the experience. One to revisit.
Had a one night stay in this delightful hotel. It’s located right in the town close to the square. There’s very cheap parking immediately behind the hotel. Free from 4pm until the next morning at 8.30am. Theres a lovely seating area outside to relax in. We had breakfast which we really enjoyed as you had a choice of several options freshly cooked for you. You could also have toast, cereals and pastries. All the staff were very pleasant and professional. Our room 101 was a bit quirky with slightly tipsy floors and a narrow entrance down to one of the biggest bathrooms I’ve seen in a hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean on arrival. Nice fluffy towels and toiletries. I was half way home and realised I’d left three items in the wardrobe. On phoning housekeeping they immediately confirmed they had them safe and would be posting them asap. I was so grateful.
Spacious clean room right in the centre of town.
Fabulous staff always helpful and friendly. Accommodation superb well equipped with all you could need for a very comfortable stay. Dinner again superb the head chef is a brilliant inventive chef producing food of the highest quality.
Not a thing.
Comfortable and well-furnished room with air con Friendly staff. Ample and varied breakfast. Excellent location.
Not a problem for me, but there is no lift and there were steep stairs in my split-level room. Guests should perhaps be forewarned about this.
Beautiful old cosy hotel in the heart of Romsay. Nice comfy rooms but NO A/C. Patio with wonderful plants and lovely atmosphere.
The heat wave in a room with blocked windows and no air conditioner. Please unblock the windows! And buy electric mobile a/c systems. The 3 rooms were 30°C, and this is the 3rd heatwave of the season, you need to find a solution.
Great location Very helpful, friendly staff Comfortable and very clean Liked the art work and old inn aesthetic.
My room was a little small.
The staff were exceptionally friendly. We were travelling with our 5 months old son and they were really helpful with adjusting things to our needs. Room was clean. It's location right in town center was lovely and it wasn't loud at all.
We were travelling during the heatwave and rooms do get quite warm. They did provide us with fans which was good.
Very cosy but a bit outdated. Good breakfast and very nice staff!
Misses some cleaning in the bathroom. No aircon, fan only. Quite noisy from the street.
Well located. Excellent bar and terrace. Quiet. Well appointed.
The air con in 402 was ineffective so had to use the fan in addition. We didn’t eat there but it looked inviting.
Outstanding in every which way. My fiancee and I cannot speak highly enough about the White Horse Hotel. Our room was immaculate, the service superb and the staff at all levels, probably the friendliest and most helpful we have ever encountered. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them, which made our stay all the more enjoyable. So nice to have local staff who clearly enjoyed discussing and promoting the area. We dined in both the restaraunt and the bar and in each instance the food was excellent. The full English breakfast is probably the best we have had for quite a while - well proportioned and perfectly cooked. We have absolutely no hesitation in throughly recommending The White Horse and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Management and Staff on providing such a welcoming and well run hotel. We will be back! Steve Dakyns and Tracey Lenton
Locatie vriendelijkheid en stijl

Lovely location and well presented.
No air con in my room only a fan very hot and uncomfortable.
Very nice hotel and great staff. We had a fabulous one nights stay which included breakfast which was also very nice. Would highly recommend.
Clean and comfortable, check in staff were very helpful and swapped us to a room with a bath when we requested one. The patio area was lovely and the live music on Friday evening was a lovely touch
The wait at breakfast both for hot drinks and the cooked portion was very long
Centrally located hotel of character and charm. Room was comfortable and clean with several nice touches such as a coffee machine and quality toiletries. Air conditioning was very welcome.
Lovely hotel in centre of Romsey, good food and service
Loved the location in this idyllic village. Central and so very comfortable. Bonus to have a balcony.
For longer stays a little fridge would be ideal.
A massive thank you to Abby who found my wedding ring.
A little flexibility on check out time. I got stuck in traffic and those 10 minutes meant I would have been able to get my ring and carry all the cases down. My 66 y/o mum had to carry them and wasn’t offered any help, after asking for 10 minutes.
Amazing staff and exceptional room

Location, room comfort, excellent shower. Staff were welcoming even tough i arrived late into the evening. Also very nice breakfast at a fair price.
No on site parking was a bit of a drag. But the car park recommended by the staff was a 4 min drive and a 2min walk back through the alleyway. And it was dirt cheap.
Great location in the centre of Romsey. Room decor was as expected, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Excellent breakfast, good choice on both the buffet and breakfast menu (cooked to order) staff were friendly.
The room was very hot, fan was provided but still hot, shame no A/C. All 4 pillows were lumpy/tired- well used, hotel needs to invest in some new ones. We sat outside and had lunch, which was ok - we went to our room to get ready for an evening out, from our room you could see the table that we sat at for lunch and it was a long time before our plates/glasses were cleared.
Absolutely brilliant stay. Everthing was so organised, comfortable, pleasant, great quality and great value for money.
A pleasure to stay here at a distinctive hotel. Well located in Romsey, the staff were friendly and proactive in addressing a potential noise issue; the building has charm; the dinner food was relatively simple but good quality, both child and adult meals; and there are some good cafes nearby for breakfast. We'd stay again.
Nothing, really.
What a wonderful find! Beautiful period hotel with the most helpful and accommodating staff. We loved our stay here and will definitely come back.
Nothing we didn’t like. Even when we had an emergency with a water pipe bursting, the staff could not have been more kind and helpful.
So clean, breakfast was lovely, nice rooms
Central location in a lovely town
No car park. Small room slightly dusty
Absolutely incredibly amazing 😻
Location was fine. Staff were great - accommodating and friendly. I felt the bacon was slightly overcooked (hard) but otherwise was excellent.
For me, the pillows were "overstuffed" - I wanted a thinner and softer one. Otherwise room was excellent. Lots of stairs though, but nice to have a view over the courtyard. Chiming clock in the night was a nuisance.
Beautifully laid out historic hotel with charming features and so comfortable in every area. The room was well appointed with every comfort in mind.
There was nothing I didn’t like
Easy yo order , proffessional polite staff .
The Bed , I may be mistaken as I often am . But the bed head needs a couple of books under each leg , I felt my head end was lower :-) . Might have been thd beer , or a very old building being a bit wonky . Not z big deal anx no complaint . But pls check it is level .

Character / age of the building and a fabulous chef
Lovely restaurant, professional friendly staff. Great service. Food was high quality, well cooked tasty veg, great roasties & gravy but tiny portion of meat. A very small amount of lamb on the smaller roast & two very small slices on the larger one. Easy to fill up on potatoes & Yorkshire pudding, but it really was a meagre amount of meat.
Location outside of the city in a lovely village. Easy access by train.
Lovely building in a delightful central location Nice rooms - carefully decorated Delicious breakfast Good wifi Nice toiletries and water, tea and coffee provide
Water temperature in shower was a little unpredictable
We visited the restaurant here on spec and couldn’t be more delighted. The dining room was lovely, looking out onto on open, outside dining/ social area within the hotel complex which was festooned with lights and very beautiful. The food was of the highest quality and totally delicious. We had rolled salted cod set on samphire and a wonderful chorizo cream sauce. We also had carrots like I’ve never had before, broccoli with lemon and the best chips I’ve ever had. I also had three different sorbets all made in their kitchens. The service was so friendly and efficient it made for a truly lovely relaxing evening.
Character, charm, location, staff.
Great location for exploring Romsey
Breakfast was very good. Service a little slow but staff lovely

The White Horse is inviting, even before you go inside. It has a lovely frontage onto The Hundred and the walkway under the arch leads you to a lovely courtyard. I had often seen people having breakfast there in the sunshine and it's something I must do this summer! We were visiting for Sunday lunch and immediately felt the pleasant ambience. The tables were beautifully set out and there was even a live musician. The very professional waitresses were very attentive. We opted for the roasts and they were presented with a selection of vegetables, including cabbage, cauliflower chees and carrots to die for! I was particularly impressed with the large gravy boat. It was all delicious. The desserts were lovely all presented with tasty sorbet. I was surprised that the bill was similar to less impressive Sunday lunches I have had in pubs. I will certainly return.
The staff are always so helpful and friendly. Lovely decor. Amazing breakfast. Room very clean.
Creaky ceiling ( but I appreciate its an old building) could hear foot steps from upstairs & loud water pipes. I did also expect a bath in my room but didn't have one.
Lovely hotel in a great place, my favourite in this town. Delicious food in restaurant- worth eating in.
The restaurant waiting staff were very inattentive, even when it wasn't that busy. Always coming through restaurant doing jobs, but not checking on customers.no on-site parking, but its free next door before 9 and after 4.
Excellent food, served in a timely manner, delicious and full of flavour. Made use of a Coaching Inn Birthday voucher. Even Without this generous offer, would have been well worth the extra. Definitely reccomend!
Sehr schöne englische Ausstattung! Tolles Restaurant.
Very clean, beautiful room, good quality toiletries, nice touch of quality with the tea/coffee and bottled water.very nice staff.
The price of the breakfast when you can walk next door and and purchase similar for half price.
Popped in on the off chance of a Sunday roast in the courtyard. Great service and a lovely roast
Fabulous brunch today . The smoked haddock omelette was quite simply the best ever !!!
The staff were brilliant.

Comfortable room and lovely breakfast. All staff were very friendly.
Location in center of village near shopping, restaurants and market.
No elevator.
Unexpectedly in Romsey, and tried this place for lunch. Welcomed and seated quickly, and served efficiently Good lunch, and I couldn’t resist a dessert from their ‘specials’ Hope to eat here again, and perhaps even stay for a couple of nights
Amazing breakfast, alot of choices, many types of cooked breakfast choices Very high standard of decor in hotel and the bedroom we stayed in
Lovely historic building. Developed into a hotel in a considered and sensitive way with very little compromise of comfort or space. Great breakfast too. The location is really good, right in the heart of Romsey.
